So lately I've been working on creating new roleplay which is similar SAO (Sword Art Online). I've created game map, main introduction, however some things are still unclear.
For example what would be the best way to roleplay it? Start from beginning where all characters are level 1 or from somewhere in middle, where characters have already established their set of skills, appearance and such?
And should there be classes or would that just make thing complicated?
What else would be needed in roleplay where everything is based around virtual world?

Well, I decided it would be more interesting if players decided on their powers, because in SAO players also had unique skills. And definitely no EXP! Then roleplay would take loads of planning organizing and also moderating.
Right now, I'm making the world maps for the game, later I'm going to turn to some descriptions. Most likely that I will start the story in middle, where the characters will start meeting each other and fighting for their goals. But I'm not really sure about classes and races though. I think it would be better without them, SAO didn't have those either. Well, I think those who have seen it would understand pretty well how it works.

I would join this.
