Okay, so my ear has been killing me lately. If you were to go to that tender spot behind your earlobe and gently run your finger straight down from there, that's where it hurts -- that whole area. I've tried allergy medicine, nasal spray, neck adjustments, sinus medicine, etc. but nothing seems to work. Or, if it does, it doesn't last long. I can't rush out to my ear/nose/throat doctor right now as I'm in my final week of exams for this term. All I really need is an idea as to how I might mask the pain for the time being.
So yeah, does anyone have any natural remedies to curb this pain? Like is there anything you try or do when your ears start to hurt? Aside from going to the doctor, which I might try to sneak in this week but, unfortunately, it will just be a generic doctor rather than a specialist. I really just need a suggestion that will get me through tonight and most of tomorrow. ._.
Those are called your lymph nodes... if i understand your description correctly. Go to your doctor you might have cancer (but in all probability you just had an infection that you're getting over) you might also have an ear infection (which again, i recommend a doctor for).
Ha ha. Yeah. I decided I don't think I can wait another day so I'm going to the after hours center not to far from me. It just sucks that my appointment is at 9:15. Oh well, at least I made it in before the last two slots filled. Hopefully, it's just an ear infection (oh that doesn't sounds terribly fun) and I'll get a script that will get them all fixed up in no time (the next thing to tackle would be finding a pharmacy that's open after 9pm).
So, according to this doctor, I have clear fluid in my ears. Since it's not infected yet, I cannot be prescribed medicine and thus have to use Ibuprofen and heat with the hopes that it'll cause the pressure to subside. If I still have it by this weekend, I'm to come back into the office and see if it's shifted into the infected state. Only until infected will they give me drugs. T_T Until then, tea, heat, and anti-inflammatory pills for me.

I keep having these days where I go from being perfectly fine, to acting like the life has been sucked out of me. With no provocation at all, I end up in a mood that has me feeling depressed beyond belief. All I want to do is kill the lights and lay in bed. I don't even fall asleep - I just lay there.
If anyone has any idea how to get myself out of this funk, please help.

Xavirne, I don't know if you're still having the issue with your ear but if you are you should try one of two things. The first being taking a paper towel (or a hand towel) and wetting with hot water (hot enough to create steam, ideally) and putting it in a cup. From there, place the cup over your ear. The second being a little more invasive but a god send in all of my experience doing it - take olive oil and warm it up, don't get it TOO hot, and pour it into your ear like you would drops. It should pull the liquid out.
Schiz, maybe try going out with a couple of close friends? Or just indulge a little? Depression is a horrible thing to contend with and no matter how much you want to stay in bed that definitely won't help you feel better. Maybe when you start to feel yourself sinking into one of those moods try to make some plans?

Thanks, Squid. Luckily - I haven't had that kind of feeling since I posted this. But if I do, I have a plan now. I figured sleeping it off would help, but clearly, it's not doing me any good.
