I changed my mind.
I want this game and I want it now.
Yeah, I don't know how much the other two have said ('coz, let's face it, am I gonna read a wall of text? No. Please, guys--you know me better than that), but, reasons to buy GW2?
1. It's cheap in relative terms to what it offers. You pay a flat rate of $60 and you'll never have to spend money again. YOU DON'T EVEN NEED REAL MONEY TO BUY GEMS (which are used for Cash Shop items ONLY). YOU CAN LEGALLY CONVERT YOUR HARD-EARNED GOLD! It's built INTO the game.
2. The game is really easy. If you REALLY want to level to 80, you can EASILY do it in a week. Of course, power-grinding is kind of boring... so, unless you have the patience to sit and farm events for hours on end per day... you'll spend most of your time exploring the world, which, admittedly, doesn't sound like much, but is actually fairly interesting.
3. There's a dynamic personal storyline. YOUR DECISIONS IN HOW YOU BUILD YOUR CHARACTER (in the beginning) WILL AFFECT YOUR STORYLINE/HOME. Yep, I think there's like, 3-4 different main story lines per race. Also, you do get different stories dependent on which race you pick. The decisions you make later will also matter (like, you can choose which path you want to take and it'll change how things grow for you).
4. WE'RE PLAYING IT AND, BY DEFAULT, THAT SHOULD BE THE WINNING ARGUMENT.
5. There's other things to do beyond the environment. If you find yourself HATING the world environment (monsters/dungeons), you'll find that World/World is a lot different. I REALLY LOVE WvW. You'll usually go with guild mates ('coz how are you planning to take an entire location by yourself? ALL YOU REALLY THAT BALLER?) and, speaking of guild mates... YOU CAN JOIN MULTIPLE GUILDS. YEP. Your friendly/social guild isn't big enough to do WvW or PvP? No worries, join a 200+ member guild and there's no strings attached. (:
6. But, really, the game is worth it. And, if you do buy it, you'll have friends that are already playing it, which will make it that much more interesting. Since... yeah. (:

What I meant was: If the game's quests/events don't really appeal to her, exploration of the world is also a nice addition/break to farming.
Although, to be honest, if I had to pay $60 to JUST explore a virtual world, I'd feel pretty ripped off. I'm just mentioning that there's things to do in-between farming for levels/weapons.

I remember when all I did was solo. Well, that used to be the only way I played MMO's... but that was mainly because I was afraid of working with other people. Actually, the kinda happened in Guild Wars 2 for a while, but after enough pestering I got coaxed into becoming a team player.
But alright, if ya ever do somehow get the urge to kill time on the game again (due to some catastrophic incident where all your other options explode or something) I'll be willing to run around with you!

I got bored tonight (leveling my guardian is such a drag, lol) and made two other characters: a warrior and a mesmer!
I just wanted to name my characters after League characters (Irelia & Le Blanc)... Haha...

Yeah, the Norn story line doesn't appeal to me very much either. The characterizations are just not my style and it makes it really hard to feel invested in the story, haha.

Totally just sold this game to a friend of mine like it was my job. She was talking about how WoW was trying to rope her in again with it being so cheap. And I was like BAM. 50 reasons why you shouldn't do that, and join the world of Guild Wars. xD

New hair and eye colors. I like the assumption that they will add colors depending on the season or themes. It seems that this is definitely a wintery theme, but the colors are really pretty and considering the fact you collect dyes for your clothes I can only assume your fingers will get a bit wiggly for these shades of purple and blue. xD
