A RP I came up with during camp...I started it on a kid friendly site, but kind of want more mature players as well...


♚ Story ♚

It's 1998, and you're sitting in a dark alleyway, wondering about your future. Are you ever going to find a home? You pull your knees up to your chest, and sigh. You're fairly certain that you'll be homeless forever. And then, suddenly, a voice from above says,

" Do you want to change?"

You look up, and see a man in a black lab coat. Without even a tiny bit of hesitation, you look him in the eye, and say,

" Yes, I want to change."

And then everything goes black.
You wake up in a room, and the first thing you hear is, " Serum injection, positive."
That phrase confuses you, but you shake it off, thinking that you heard it wrong, as your head is pounding, and your whole body feels like it was in a car crash or something.Then you realize something: You can't remember anything at all. Nothing. Your memory has just gone...poof. The rest of the day is a blur. You're introduced to your parents, and taken home.

As you grow up, you go through rehab, and then are sent to school.But something seems strange about this 'rehab.' It seems more like training to you. You also notice 7 other people in this 'rehab,' but you're not allowed to talk to them. Then you wonder about the strange tattoo on your body. It's one of...a chess pawn? However, information about this is always completely and utterly denied to you. Then, one day, when you're fifteen or sixteen, the man in the lab coat comes to you. He holds out his hand.

" Welcome to Checkmate."

In the summer of 1998, a government organized society called Checkmate took 8 homeless children off of the streets for testing. These 8 children are injected with a serum that changes their genetic makeup. 8 children, all of varying ages, are raised as pawns to protect the queen of the organization, someone with a power so dangerous, she could destroy the world with it. These children were raised by scientists undercover as parents in separate apartments. And slowly, the children grew.

But so did the pawns of Master's Court. Master's Court had done the same thing with the children, however, they wanted to steal the queen of Checkmate away, and dominate the US with her power. The children of course, had no idea that was happening. As their name stated, they were pawns. Nothing else. The children of Master's Court were told of their powers at the age of 13, and started training soon after. The children on Checkmate were only told of their powers at around 15-16 years of age. Now, it's 2012, and both teams are between the ages of 15-18. With the help of the knights, rooks, and bishops, how will this game of chess play out?
