One of my unfinished story projects: POSSIBLY LONG OP

The world was no longer full of life and now empty of anything left of humanity but the people themselves. Some people have changed due to the radiation which still stays, mutated due to the FEV, or become huge creatures from the radiation which still is around what is of the Columbus Wasteland. Vault 154 is placed under the Columbus Zoo which was just a cover for what military training was to take place when the vault doors closed.

Tim Livvy, 8, at the time was actually enjoying his life in a beautiful house on the outskirts of Columbus. He had no idea that a war was the horizon being that he was a fan of the many Hubris Comics. He read every The Adventures of Captain Cosmos comic he could get his hands on. Tim was the type of boy who just couldn't stop talking about his favorite comic. He even watched the show on TV when it premiered. His goal in life was to save the country from the evils which lurked in the shadows. And his time was coming to do it.

On Friday October 22nd, 2077 is when he sure was to learn of the his true destiny in life. He was relocated to the vault which his parents had reserved for the entire family. This was the day before the Great War started which changed humanity forever as no other countries seemed to be able to handle the nuclear attacks. This is where Tim and his life picked up at and where we learn of the destiny which awaits him after he leaves the vault.

Vault 154 was a vault which was started construction 2032 to be completed in 2045. It featured many utlities of a normal Vault-Tec vault such as a modern day kitchen, living quarters, and it even included resturants. There was 10 levels to the facility with only the public allowed to access 5. The rest of the 10 consisted of military training areas, bunkers, depots for vehicles, and the command center of the military operations headed by the vaults overseer.

Vault-Tec contructed the vault to be a home of the National Guard to regain control of the state after the nuclear was has ceased. It was also to house The Guardsmen. The Guardsmen was to be trained for years in hand to hand combat, gunsmanship, marksmanship, and reconaissance. The Overseer was to see all training to make sure the goal was met in time of the vaults opening which was due to be in 25 years after the nuclear war. The Guardsmen was to be 33 by the time of the vault opening and when he was to explore the world for all the last remains of human life.

Tims parents died in the vault when he turned 10 from an unknown cause. Vault Security was quick to investigate and remove his dead family. No funeral was held for his parents but they were cremated and put on display in what was left of the Livvy Family home in the vault. He was shortly taken to the door which lead to the 6th floor of the vault to meet the Vault Overseer to start his training as The Guardsmen.

"Who are you" said Tim as he was being dragged by Vault Security to the door which lead to the restricted section of the vault. He was trying to best to resist the hands of the very strong military men only to fail and be gripped tighter to nearly the breaking point of his bones.

The door opened leading him to a dark set of stairs with lots of US military insigna on it. The windows on both sides showed what was a military depot full of tanks, barracks, and humvees both being repaired or upgraded to fit the use of the outside world for once the vault opened. Engineers were putting in fusion engines inside many vehicles, mechanic fixing up broken down vehicles, and inspectors examining the progress of the work being made.

Ahead of them as they were at the bottom lead to the 7th level which housed the many National Guard soldiers conditioning themselves, eating, and altogether playing games to entertain themselves while being stuck in the vault. Past the housing is the Overseers office which is marked by a National Guard symbol above where the sign of Overseer is. Tim is shoved into the door when it suddenly slams on him with the lights not on and the room being pitch black as night time.

Suddenly, the lights switch on and a slideshow starts to play with the sound of a narration by some man named Andrew. "Welcome to The Guardsman Training Program brought to you by the US Government, Vault-Tec, and your local National Guard servicemen in the greater state of Ohio. You're here because you've been chosen by your local Vault Overseer to become a highly skilled military officer to combat the world outside once the vault door opens. Your extensive training is to begin as soon as you're Vault Overseer has felt you are ready to go forward. You will be trained by the best of the National Guard and Army to go and fight the evils that lurk outside of this vault." The slidehsow then shows a picture of Vault Boy and the voice of a lady comes on saying "This has been a presentation by Vault-Tec in co-sponsorship with the Us Government." then the slideshow dramatically ends with Tim looking at it with confusion with a mysterious shadow slowly advancing towards him.

"Welcome, Tim" says the mysterious man as he walks out of the shadow.

((As you can see. I was Fallout obsessed then and hopefully will pick it up in the future again as it has alot of potential and also...you learn lots about Ohio. That one countryside of a state. I also noticed there is ALOT of grammar mistakes.))
