    The Wishmakers [stormi_weathers and Zitacamron95]

Christopher walked through the halls people greeting him as he walked. He liked the school better when it was quiet since not so many girls could come out of nowhere talking to him. He didn't get the point in why they did it but it got annoying sometimes, they whisper about him all over as if he couldn't hear it. He sighed and walked into the school library and looked at the books. He didn't know exactly why he even bothered since all the good books are books he's already read. He couldn't believe that he was in such a different world, he had been here all his life yet it was so different from every other hundred years. He wished to just finally go back to the place he was born, the island that wasn't known to anyone. It was hard to try and find one girl for so long and all he was supposed to do was protect this girl. He didn't want to worry about this kind of stuff any more it was all a waste of his time anyways. After losing his mentor who had may have been stuck at the same age he was, everything started to feel like it was getting harder. They had slit up to help the search, bit Christopher hadn't really liked the idea of being alone, trying to find one girl out of so many.

Christopher sighed and sat back down at the table where he set his stuff and started writing another report of the day so far. He wrote reports about this stuff every day since it was his job yet nobody knew about it. He used to have his mentor with him to help with this stuff but he had thought it would be good to split up so he hadn't talked to him in two hundred years. He tapped the end of his pencil on the table as he thought up the report so far, he had kept a report for every day of his long life. He yawned as he ran his fingers through his pitch black hair. The glasses he wore were actually really needed, it sucked trying to fight with these glasses, but he needed to see somehow. His deep green eyes stared at the paper behind his black square framed glasses, he kept reading what he had so far, it was starting to get discouraging to always see the report, say nothing in the findings. He was about to start writing again when a pounding sound started on the table, Christopher looked up...another girl.

"Hello, Chris!" She smiled. Christopher remembered her, she always was trying to get to know him and talk to him. How dare she call him Chris that ticked him off alot, he never liked going by nicknames. It was annoying that these girls were so fascinated with him just because he was the new kid. After being at this school for a while, all of a sudden it was like he became the center of attention and he didn't want that at all. He was here for a job not to socialize with all these people. This blond haired, blue eyed girl was what everyone would call popular. He hated these things and it always got on his nerves, he didn't want to hear this girl speak and looking up was a mistake. It was all just a play to seem normal, the school act was just to find the girl and then there would be no reason to ever go to school again. He would then start the search for his partner or mentor and the girl would be brought to their home, where she would be forever safe.

"It's Christopher." He corrected quietly. it had bothered him too much to let it slide, though he corrected this girl every time. It just wasn't getting through to her.

"Well, I was wondering if you would like to go out sometime..." The girl said blushing slightly.

    "I'm busy." Christopher sighed.

    "But-" She said.

"No." He rejected and grabbed his things and left the room, seeing her start to cry. He couldn't help it, he didn't like it when others did that to him. His mentor would think he was an idiot, unlike him, his mentor was a flirt. The guy was good at getting the attention of every girl and every time Christopher shot a girl down, his mentor would give him a lecture. It wasn't time to get all upset over the past, he had a duty to his home and he was going to fulfill every single duty he needed to. He and his mentor were the only ones allowed out of the place and into this world, so now it was time to use that as some sort of advantage. Though he may not be able to go back home for a long time, he was going to be a hero.

    -------

Dimitri looked around another school he really didn't want to be in, he would just be glad when all of this was over. He wondered what Christopher was up to, he hadn't seen that nerd in quite a while and thought that he might run into him by now. Of course it never happened and they were still stuck doing their own things and trying to fix whatever they could. He would have to look around for this girl that they were supposed to find and then try and find his partner. He looked around the whole place, he smiled at a few girls and nodded to them. He would have been part of the football team if he didn't move around so much, but he was friends with the jocks, though they were a little immature for his tastes. He felt like he grew up a lot more than most of these people, not that it really mattered he had to get going with his job more than he had to worry about his social life.

"Hey beautiful!" He greeted some random girl with a grin on his face. Of course that girl just rolled her eyes and walked away. Dimitri expected that, it happened to him all the time and he was fine with that as long as he was able to get their attention, for a second. He quickly looked around and looked at his schedule, of course he was still new and had no idea where he was headed. He would have to be careful and try to find out if anything weird had happened yet at the school. That was the only thing he had to worry about, if nothing weird happened he would just be able to move on to the next school.

"Ginger." The word was spoken by a laughing boy as he pushed the subject of his discrimination joyfully into a wall. The girl grinned back, cockily swishing her hair into a flailing whirlwind. The fire-colored mass was untamed and flaunted itself to the world, uncombed and wild. Inside of the mane held emerald eyes, set into a pale face that matched the rest of her body. Ivy pushed the boy back, voicing her denial of the word.

"Red, thank you. Do you see freckles? I think not." Pointing to her face, she raised her eyebrows melodramatically. She had won, and the boy winked at her before heading down an opposite set of stairs. The two were fairly close to eachother, and everyone inside of their high school expected to see not one, but both, at any moment. The comical relationship was nothing short of flirtatious, but that was how Ivy was with nearly everyone. Her mind was sure that she was gorgeous, and most of the guys in the school agreed. It was a type of untamed took that she upheld, much like the creeping plant of which she was named.

Heading down the steps, now, Ivy was given ample time inside of her own mind. She thought hard, about her bantering with the boy, and thought of how he seemed to want more than that. Frankly, Ivy didn't. Not with him, at least. He was like a brother to her, and she could not bear losing a confident. A plan slowly formulated itself, but Ivy set it down, determined she would never hurt him. Yet that was besides the point. Ivy needed someone to lean on, that was for sure.

By this time, Ivy had made it halfway down the hallway. All of this drama made her drowsy. Frowning inwardly, Ivy muttered to herself, "I wish i had some chocolate right now." Sighing, she kept walking, sidetracked from her conflicts by the smiles and waves her friends shot her way. Ivy this, Ivy that, the girl was known in the school, and she did not mind entirely too much. She interacted fruitfully in the social dynamic, to no particular bother.

A boy had come up beside her. "Hey, Ives." The male voice sounded deeply, attempting to achieve the playful tossing of a nickname, to no avail. Ivy looked up, recognizing the boy in a bit of annoyance. He had pestered her before, and was less interesting than he was dateable. He thought the opposite, though.

"Lay off, Cain." Ivy replied coldly. She let her thoughts be plainly obvious, hoping that he would take the hint. Of course, he did not. He put his hand on her head, running his fingers through her hair. That was enough. Ivy jerked to the side, slapping his arm backwards. Grunting in anger at the lack of compliance, Cain grabbed Ivy by the shoulders, pushing her against a wall.

"Don't be stupid, Ivy. I'm just being friendly." His breath smelled overly like mint, like he had just used breath spray. The implication of this was more than apparent, as he leaned in for the kill. Allowing the kiss to happen, Ivy locked lips for a moment with the boy, teasing him slightly. She was a good kisser, and Cain's pleasure with his success led to more ambition. He pushed her farther onto the wall, taking control of the situation. Even though they were in school, he did not seem to care. It was as if Ivy was a prize to be one, and he had just knocked down all three pins. Just as things began to heat up, Ivy bit down on his bottom lip, hard. She pushed him away in his surprise, shaking her head.

"Lay off!" Ivy didn't yell, but it was almost that volume. Her voice was stern, but she was not strong, and Cain was a football player. I wish he would just leave me alone. She thought desperately, looking backwards. For a moment, nothing happened, but a few seconds later, Cain tripped, seemingly over nothing, and landed on the floor. Smirking gleefully, Ivy slowed to watch, pointing an administrator that way. Her wish had come true, and it was great.

Fern headed to the cafeteria like a shadow, even though her red hair said otherwise. It was like a beacon, but her personality was the antithesis. Although her eyes were up, they met no one's in their scanning, and with procured a very lonely lunch period. But that was no matter, because Fern had work to do.

She had just gotten a new book of philosophy, and was intent on finishing it before the week was over. The excitement at this only added to her stereotype as a nerd, but it was completely true. She was no religious junkie, rather a varsity member of the debate team, and she needed to brush up on her meta-ethical values. Digging in her backpack, she pulled out the hefty book of moral intuitionism, and set at a table on the periphery of the school social life.

Brushing a lock of hair away from her porcelain face, she took out the bookmark and became lost in the jabberings of philosophers. A few pages in, Fern began to realize she wasn't concentrating. It was the mere fact that she had read the same sentence over and over again, although she could very well comprehend it the first time around. Her brows furrowed, she eavesdropped onto the conversation behind her, the destitute realization that she really needed a social life overcoming her.

She had friends, somewhat, and they were at lunch, but they were probably all reading i some other unexplored crevasse of the lunchroom, as she was. In a skeptical decision to find one of them, Fern idly stood up, replacing her book to its space in her backpack. Walking aimlessly, now, she searched for a friendly face. Some people glanced at her, but all that she had ever had class with paid her no attention. Boys would think she was cute, until she started talking.

Grimacing, Fern took the last half of the cafeteria in a desperate attempt to find someone, anyone, to talk to, but decided better of sitting down in a group with whom she possessed no interest of. That left... herself. Biting her lip, Fern simply headed out the double doors, towards nowhere in particular. She pulled the book out of her backpack, and started to read it while she walked. Blatant, and not unwanted, oblivion descended upon her outlook of the hallways.

Nothing different from today, a few more annoyances with those girls. Nothing civil ever push them away. Maybe it's already time to move on. He had down in his journal, he was thinking about them as he wandered through the halls and pretty much getting himself lost already. He refused to make eye contact with most people at the moment. He hated this high school thing, why did the girl have to be sixteen? Couldn't she just realize her powers around twenty? It would make things more his style, college would have been easier to handle, plus he wouldn't have to go every year. He made sure his journal was still with him and that he didn't forget it when he made that girl cry. He was sure that was going to get through the school fast. He had seen two girls that had been with that blond girl when he turned her down, they were whispering to a whole group but they all seemed more excited than they were upset for their friend.

Christopher had been there for a while, and he was glad that he was still new to the school, otherwise he probably would be wrapped up into some random drama or rumor that he really didn't want to be part of. He looked up from his path and saw that red head that was the only one he knew at this school right now at least. He quickly caught up with her and smiled "Hey, Ivy! How are you today?" He asked kept up with her pace. He was just glad to talk to someone that wasn't attacking him like all the other girls at this school seemed to do. He figured that after being at the school for a while he should at least have a friend other wise it would have looked weird for him to just be some loner that didn't want anything to do with anyone at this school. Ivy seemed like a person that was alright to be friends with, and it seemed that there wasn't any rumors that would get started with being friends with her, or least they haven't started yet.

As he waited for an answer to his question, he started to think about plans to leave. He probably would have to do that soon since he wasn't finding anything odd or different in this school. There was a lot of other things that he had to check out anyways and he wanted to try and find this girl as fast as he could. He wanted to know what was going on, and hopefully get settled to another school within the next week if nothing happened at the moment.

    ------

Dimitri walked around during lunch, he wasn't exactly in the mood to eat and since his friends were all goofing off he decided to just take some time alone. He was starting to wonder if he could find a way to find Christopher, it was hard to find him and he wasn't sure if there was anything that he could use to find Christopher. They really should have never split up, but Dimitri wanted to get away from his partner because of all the times that the boy was starting to become more negetive. That and he needed to get rid of everything so he wouldn't have to deal with that nerd boy talk about how it might just be time for them to give up and go back to their village.

He wasn't watching where he was going and he ran into some red head girl that he had no idea who it was. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that. I wasn't watching where I was going."

Ivy grinned at her friend as he approached. He was one of her more tolerable people, considering he did not try and hit on her every moment of every day. "Why hello there!" She laughed, poignant pride radiating off of her. Her mood perked up quickly, considering she had won a victory against Cain, for once. He may just lay off, now. But no. That would not be enough, would it? She needed to make him jealous.

How? Ivy had a slight idea. Of course, that idea was walking alongside her. "I'm doing quite well, considering my run-in with Oh Arch Nemesis." She winked at Christopher, shrugging. Cain was on her short list, that was for sure. However, the fact that she had a list said something. She wasn't severely disliked, but she was definitely able to hold those feelings on someone else. It was what came with being known.

Ivy's hand brushed against Christopher's, and she blushed slightly, but did nothing of it. The guy was handsome, and she recognized that. He would be a person Ivy would go for, if she hadn't known that he was against dating, or whatever his resistance on it was all about. Ivy was a naturally flirtatious person, though, and she hoped he wouldn't take it the wrong way.

"And how are you, love?" She glanced down at her feet, the word nothing unusual in her vocabulary. Her sock was starting to peep out of her vintage boots, a stripe of white against the dark leather that reached her knee. Moving her eyes behind her, she saw that Cain was glaring in her direction, listening to the Vice Principal lecture him, no doubt. His eyes met her's, and she raised her eyebrows towards him, before turning her attention back to Christopher.

As he replied to her own question, Ivy her hand into his, lacing her warm fingers between his cold ones. Biting her lip slightly, she looked at Christopher out of the corner of eyes. It was a stretch, but she was willing to chance it. That was what Ivy did. Being rash, being spontaneous, was a normative action. Hopefully he would understand that, and even if he didn't, Cain would have seen the action. But, she wished for more than that. She wished for Christopher to like her, in the honest way that an earnest person only could.

Fern glanced up in surprise as she jolted to a halt. The impact startled her, and as her head whipped from concentrating on her book, she instantly began to glare. She thought it was some imbecile who would take pleasure in knocking her book down, and walk away laughing. But, it wasn't. It was a guy she had seen before, yet never talked to. Of course, Fern noticed most people. They just did not notice her back.

He was on of the Casanova's at the school, in Fern's mind: constantly hitting on girls, making a fool of himself at their rejection. It was stupid, and she hated it, frankly. So, the glare did drop off of her face, but there was no jubilant smile that replaced it. Rolling her eyes and then meeting his, she replied cordially. "It's fine. Nor was I." Her green orbitals read the boy's actions, trying to assess if he was any sort of person she wouldn't mind talking to.

In the end, she decided that he was not.

With her book under her arm, Fern began to walk away in the direction that she had been heading before. Glancing back at the boy, she almost wished that he would catch her by the arm, spin her around, and befriend her. But, no. Fern was not desperate for friends. She just wasn't popular. The boy messed with her mind, though. She felt some reason, in the back of her head, that she should befriend him. But that was crazy talk. She had to get back into her senses, quickly.

"Oh, I am fine, just some girls decided to bother me again asking if I would take them out for a date...called me Chris...god I hate being called by that name." Christopher muttered, the last part was more to himself and for a moment he hadn't even realized that Ivy's hand had slipped into his. He had squeezed it when he was talking about how much he hated being called by that nickname. He was more concentrated on all these girls that were attracted to him and it was more of a bother than it was anything else. He hated this whole school and he could only deal with a few people at this school. He would be happy to find a new place to live, or just to leave this place all together, he would rather deal with his village hating him for the rest of his life than deal with this whole moving around the world and dealing with people he didn't like.

Then it finally hit him, the warmth between his fingers and the feeling of someone else's touch. He looked down at his hand seeing another that belonged to Ivy. Christopher pushed his glasses up further up his face and then looked over at Ivy. He was a little confused by the gesture. He couldn't make up his mind on how to handle this, surly Ivy was a very pretty girl and he enjoyed her company, but at the same time he wasn't going to be here for much longer and there was no possible way Ivy thought of anything by it, he was like a nerd. The words just wouldn't form in his mind as he desperatly tried to look for them.

"I-Ivy, you need to release my hand, I have to get to class." Christopher finally said staring at the ground, his cheeks red. Once he finally was able to get his hand away he walked a completely sperate way, though he had forgotten his first class was the same class as Ivy's first class.

    -------------

Dimitri blinked a few moments, not really sure what had just happened. He was being nice and the girl just walked away. He ran started walking with her, keeping up with the pace. "Hey, what's that book you're reading?" He asked. The only reason he asked was because it looked familiar to the books that Christopher used to read. He might as well be nice and see if there was anything he was missing. Most of the time he was interested in knowing if anyone knew about odd and unusual happenings. He wondered if maybe this girl knew anything if not maybe she knew Chris, it would be great to see how his partner was doing. When he actually got a good look of this girl, she was very pretty too. Not that he would ever hit on this kind of a girl, he purposely flirted with girls that he knew hated him and he really didn't care for at all.

((If my post for Dimitri is too short tell me.))

"Rather obnoxious. What of chivalry these days, yes?" Ivy replied, with the tiniest bit of sarcasm in her voice. But most of her words were somewhat earnest, because she knew how her friend felt about the whole ordeal. Ivy considered herself at least relatively knowledgeable about Christopher, even if his past, or current life outside of school was a mystery to her. Still, she trusted him at least, even if it was not reciprocal.

"Christopher, Chris, relax a little, though, alright? Don't get all riled up because of two syllables, dear." She winked at him, to let Christopher know that she was entirely kidding. He hadn't flipped out at her action, and yet he was making a big deal about a nickname. It was a good sign for her, in the very least. The applied pressure to her hand that she had felt seemed to secure the fact that he didn't mind them holding hands, too. She was content, and successful, in the least.

Of course, Ivy had to be proved wrong. The realization swept her up as it hit Christopher, and she could literally read the perplexed recognition apparent on his face. The blush was the first sign she had been mistaken, but as he wrestled with some sort of dilemma, it was at if his inner romantic could not decide how to act. Ivy doubted that she had this much of an effect on him, from such a simple action, and it left her equally confused.

His words, then, struck her into stopping in her progress towards first period. Her hand loosened, and easily parted with Christopher's simply because it relaxed, and swung lamely at her side. Biting her lip more, now, she watched as he turned down another hallway, no doubt some round-about way to the class.

Ivy could not figure out what had just happened. He had seemed fine, then completely flipped out, and now, she was alone, embarrassed. They always went to first period together, considering they normally sat next to each other anyways. Furrowing her brow, she walked by herself on the usual route, arriving to class and taking her usual seat. Christopher was not there yet, which made sense, considering that he took a longer path. She wondered if he would even look at her when he did get here.

Fern glanced over at the guy who had just run into her. Why was he following her, now? They weren't friends. Not even acquaintances. So, it made no sense for him to be asking her such a normal question. And yet, it would be easy to just reply, and be his friend.

    As if.

That wasn't how Fern worked. "What? Why do you care?" She questioned skeptically. She was slightly worried that he was only talking to her to tease her. That's what the jocks usually did. Biting her lip, she watched his face for some sort of hidden sneer, but did not end up finding one. After a moment or two, she relaxed a miniscule amount.

"It's philosophy. Moral intuitionism." She said quietly, glancing down at the book. She doubted he'd known what that was, anyways.

Christopher paused as he walked through an unfamiliar hallway, he really never got to know every hallway in the school, there was no reason to. He knew where his classrooms were, he knew the routes he wanted to take and the rest of the place could stay a mystery for all he cared. Well, that wasn't going to work in his favor in this case. He couldn't figure out where he was anymore and he wasn't sure which way to go as the crowds of people started to clear and he was left alone in the middle of an unfamiliar place. He shook his head, this was just going to be one of those days again, another bad day where he had no idea what he was going to do and what was going to happen next. He looked around, wondering if his teacher would be so upset if he just skipped his morning classes, not that they could really say anything about it anyways. He didn't have much longer before he moved to the next high school and he might as well just get away from this awful morning by doing some research and then going out for a little while.

Christopher looked around the hallway and started to walk the way he came, he then made his way to the front entrance, where he quickly checked out with one of the secretaries in the main office and walked out the doors. He made the excuse that he was having some family problems and needed to get home as soon as possible. He ended up going to some small cafe where he was mostly left alone by everyone except for the young overly happy waitress who gave him his order as he sat down on his laptop and started to work on some things. He started to search for places that had anything unusual going on, it was so he would be able to narrow down whatever he new place he was searching for. Normally he would search for some apartments in a near by school district that he hadn't tried visiting yet. This time though, he was hoping to get far away from this school, he didn't want Ivy to try and find him or actually find him and get mad because he just completely ditched her. He had done this many times before but it was different this time, like it was difficult in even starting to make the decision, normally he would have already had all the plans to move ready, he just needed to set the date.

This time it seemed different somehow, he was just trying to get things done that he couldn't manage to find out what to do next. It must have been this morning that threw him off completely, he had no idea what he was doing or where he wanted to go and that didn't happen too often to him. Christopher usually was great at making decisions and deciding on exactly what he was going to do next quickly, and normally always making the best offer. Once he was done with what he could handle getting done, he wrote down a names of a few cities and made a list of a few addresses that he would check out later and folded that paper up and shoved it into his pocket. He then packed up paid for his food, made sure to grab a drink for Ivy and left. Most of the time Christopher wouldn't miss a day of school, but he felt like after a bit of fresh air and getting away from that high school he was back to normal. He quickly made his way back to school, at lunch time and checked back in at the main office.

In the cafeteria he found Ivy and smiled giving her the drink he had bought her. "Sorry about earlier, I was having a stressful morning and just needed some time to do a few things." Christopher apologized. He sat down next to her and started to write down in that journal that he always kept so secret. He never let anyone else touch it or even peek at what he wrote in it. Then again it had everything about his past, his thoughts about everything and what went on in his life.

    -------

Dimitri looked at the girl for a moment, he truly had no idea what that was, but he was sure that Christopher would have known. He chuckled a little bit and then looked at the girl, "Sorry, it's just that you remind me of a friend of mine. He reads books just like those, big, thick and hardly understandable for someone like me. I haven't seen him in a while, and I've been worried about him. Anyways, I'll stop bothering you now, you probably want nothing to do with someone like me." Dimitri grinned and then walked off in a different direction. Class was about to begin anyways, and he was sure his friends were wondering where he was. He had to get back into doing what he did best, acting like a complete fool. It was the best way to disguise his personality and who he really was, and the best way to get into the major loop of the school to find what these two girls were up to.

Dimitri quickly found his way to his next class where he ran into two of his friends. "Hey, Dimitri, what are you doing? Why weren't you at lunch today?" They questioned him. He waved them off with an answer that was pretty much just a lie about how he apparently almost got some girl pregnant or something. He really wasn't worried too much about the lies he used when most people really didn't question him too often about the kind of stories he made. The two guys just looked at him wide eyed, wondering how in the world that could possibly happen to one of their friends. These people were so ridiculous in this school, he figured quiet solitude right now would be just fine, but that wasn't the lifestyle he chose.

"Don't worry 'bout it guys, I got it all taken care of." Dimitri said before class started. He could already hear the gossip start as girls whispered about overhearing what was going on. He wasn't sure how long he would be able to even put up with that crap. He would have to start thinking about his next move. Not that he ever moved in the middle of the school year, he normally stayed in the same high school until graduation where he would then disappear and never be heard from again, it left less questioning, he just needed to think about what he was going to do if he couldn't find the girl in this school. He was starting to doubt he would ever find this girl.

Christopher didn't show up to first period. Ivy was sure he'd show up to at least their second class, but still no luck. As half of the day went by, there was no sign of him. Ivy became worried slightly, about what she did to anger him. Holding his hand was not that big of a deal, anyhow. Sure, it was a bit more than a friendly gesture, but nonetheless not violent. She spent her time avoiding Cain, but he still approached her during lunch.

He sat down next to her, smirking as if nothing had happened. But he still held that dominant expression, the look that someone would have over something they owned. Or at least, what a boyfriend would exhibit towards a girl in the most futile of relationships.

"I like it rough anyways." He said, raising his eyebrows. As if he wasn't annoyed. He probably spent the first bit of the day in the office anyhow, like usual. And yet, he kept coming back. Ivy could not even comprehend what made the guy still want to be with her after all that she put him through.

"Do you just need to prove to yourself that you are stronger than me? That you can do what you want to me, and I'll just go along with it?" Ivy asked, tilting her head to the side like a puppy. She genuinely wondered, yet her surly tone dripped with sarcasm. Shaking her head, she didn't wait for an answer. Standing up, she moved to leave, running her hand through Cain's hair. It would have been a normally romantic gesture, if it wasn't for the fact that Ivy loathed him.

Naturally, he grabbed her hand, and pulled her back down to sit in the seat, a bit closer to him. Ivy wasn't really expecting for him to just let her up and leave, so she readjusted to a comfortable position on the bench, and looked over at Cain from the corner of her eye. Heaving an exasperated sigh, she uttered out the word, "What?"

Cain laughed at this, apparently amused that she could possibly not be desperately in love with him. "Think of how great we would look together. We would be the top of the food chain, love." He raised his eyebrows expectantly. That's exactly what she wanted, right? As if. She was popular already, and didn't need to just feed Cain's ego by dating him.

"And you are just desperately falling for me, right? What is it? My luxurious hair? My wonderful personality?" Ivy gave him her most sultry expression, as she quickly changed her approach. This time she wasn't being openly sarcastic. She moved closer to him, looking up into his eyes. As he opened his mouth to speak, Ivy put her finger over his lips, shushing him. "Loverboy, you just don't get it. I'm. Not. Into. You." She tapped his nose with each word, talking to him in that same sensual tone. It sharply contrasted the actual things that she said, and it probably made him want her even more. But she didn't have time to think about that.

Because, that's when Christopher decided to show up. She was sure that he had heard what she had said, and wondered slightly if he would even bother to come to her defense. But, he did give her a peace offering, and Ivy gave her attention to him. "No worries. The sun is still shining, somewhere, yes?" She winked, too. Taking a sip of the coffee he got her. "My favorite."

Cain even took the hint. He gave up momentarily, and sauntered his way from the table, to Ivy's liking, at that. Two wins for her, in just the first half of the day. She rested her arm on the table, and then put laid her head sideways upon it, watching Christopher write. She was hesitant to ask what he was writing, truthfully, simply because he had gotten perturbed at her earlier. Taking this to heart, she decided to tell him about her morning. "My wish came true today. I wished for Cain to go away, and he tripped over his own feet. Well, I'm just guessing that. Because I didn't see anything. It was fantastic." She talked lazily up at Christopher, because of her position on the table. Some of her hair fell over her face, making it somewhat difficult for her to tell what he was doing, too.

((I'm tired at the moment. I'll post for Fern tomorrow, I swear! In the meantime, I'm totally fine if you reply just to Ivy, for now. O___. ))

Christopher intentionally didn't say anything to Cain, if he had started something Christopher didn't want to have to fight. Compared to most people in this school, Christopher was pretty good a skilled fighting, compared to Dimitri, Christopher sucked. Of course to keep his cover low, Christopher would have to pretend being bad, otherwise it would raise people's suspicion. He already had gotten beaten up on his first day here because he looked like a nerd. That all stopped though when he had befriended Ivy, all of a sudden these guys that targetted him didn't even dare glance at him the wrong way. It was odd, but he never questioned it because for him it just left one thing he didn't have to deal with now. He wasn't going to become part of the food chain anymore and he wasn't planning on getting any more attention from other people, though those girls that he kept turning down seemed to keep coming back.

Christopher paused for a moment hearing of Ivy's adventures of this morning. He decided that it had to have been coincidence, there was no way something so simple like that would be some huge sign of the person he was looking for. He would have to look further into it though. "Oh, is that so?" Christopher responded as he continued to write in the journal he had. He wondered how he managed to keep this up for so long, he had tons of these old notebooks at home, enough to have at least ten full novels, though the old ones were just paper Christopher bound together and as they got more recent they transformed into spiral notebooks written in with pen.

Christopher glanced at Ivy, her hair in her face again, he gentilly took the hair in her face and brushed it behind her ear. "I don't like it when your hair is always in your face." He muttered, using it as an excuse for his actions. He quickly closed his notebook and looked at the time. "We ought to get to our next class." Christopher muttered as he gathered his things and started to head off to class. He figured that Ivy would just come as well, until he was surrounded by a bunch of girls again. He looked at all of them, wondering how this was even possible, they all looked demanding as he tried to back up, only to run into more girls behind him.

Finally the leader of this mass spoke, "We want to know what is wrong with you! We've all asked you out and you just turn us down like you have no soul! Are you already going out with someone? We want an answer to why you don't want to date any of us."

"I..." Christopher started not really sure if there was an answer he could give to this question that would satisfy them at all.

The boy's words did bring a slight smile to Fern's lips. She was right, but he had made a joke out of it. She liked that, the easy banter that he could make, even though they were strangers. And it made her feel, relatively bad for not being at least pleasant to him. In the end, Fern's thoughts were all for not: he walked off anyways. That did allow Fern to spend the rest of the lunch period by herself, as she wanted, but her thoughts were occupied by the conversation.

She felt worse and worse, by the time she had gotten through her next class, and decided to apologize. When she was putting her books back into her backpack for the journey through the hallways, Fern found a candy bar at the bottom of the backpack. "Strange..." She murmured to herself, remembering how she had wished for chocolate earlier that day. Biting her lip, she decided it must have just been a coincidence.

During the passing period, Fern sought out the boy. "Hey." She said, to get his attention. Before he could say anything else, she continued. "Sorry about earlier. I don't know you, I shouldn't have judged you." She shrugged, looking over at him to ensure that he was listening. Following this, she split her candy bar in half, and gave the side to him.

"It's not poisoned. I wished for it earlier, and found it in my backpack. I figured, it was, like, a sign or something. That I should carry on the goodness." She winked, nearly shrugging again. Fern thought hard, about this not-friendship. She still didn't much like him, but they were technically strangers. There was just something about the boy, that made her repeal.

She didn't know why, but was tempted to find out. Either that, or run frantically away. Both options seemed rather appealing to Fern, at the moment. Yet, she figured a name would be the first order of business. "I'm Fern, by the way." She said quietly.

Dimitri finished most of the day just being happy with the small bit of homework he had gotten. He was pretty tired with the day and didn't want to do anything else. He just wanted to go home, lay on his couch and watch mind numbing television with some kind of microwavable dinner. Everything was always that way though after school, all he wanted to do was get away from everything and just stop thinking about everything, that was Christopher's job anyways. He was just there to give more protection and help find whoever was the girl that they called the wishmaker. He sluggishly grabbed the things he needed from his locker and shoved everything he didn't need into his locker. It was such a messy small place, but Dimitri really didn't care for making it look clean or to throw away his old homework assignments.

Dimitri had turned to leave when that girl from lunch ran up to him and apologized for something. It was a first that a girl would try and run up to him to talk to him at all. He kept trying to open his mouth and speak but the girl would keep talking, she then offered him chocolate and he took it as she went on about how she had gotten her hands on the chocolate bar to begin with. Was it really that simple? She had to be the one they have been searching for. He almost choked on a peice of the chocolate as he got surprised from what she was talking about. Once he got the chocolate to go down the right pipe, he looked a Fern.

"I'm Dimitri, nice to meet you." He smiled being as friendly as he could. He woundered what he should do now. He had to think what they had planned before, but now it was hard to think of what to do. All he knew was this place was too crowded to say a word that wouldn't be picked up by some person that would think he was crazy.

"Hey, how about I take you out to a small cafe I know. It's not a date, I promise you, I just have a few questions I would like to ask you." Dimitri said. Some part of him wished he could call it a date, but he knew that would scare the girl away. "Don't worry about during lunch, it was my fault for being stupid and not watching where I was going. Thanks for the chocolate too."

Ivy shivered slightly at Christopher's touch. She wanted to make some sort of romantic comment about it, or sarcastic otherwise, but didn't want to overemphasize or ruin the moment too much. So, she simply laughed slightly instead, smiling rather honestly. It didn't happen often, because she wasn't a particularly earnest person, but it showed. Ivy would rather place her emotions in a safe bottle, and hide it in the depths of her thoughts. However, she felt, somewhat like she could trust Christopher, more so than others, at least. This was the second time she had thought about it that day, in fact, and she found it offhandedly strange, somewhat.

Either way, she did not have much time to consider it, anyhow. He promptly got up, moving to their next class. She moved to follow, but got slightly delayed because she had to gather up her small lunch. She watched the look of the girl's as he moved away from her, and helplessly told them to leave Christopher alone. Of course, the attempt was futile, and the hormone-stricken mob of females were upon him. The questions came unceasingly, and blatantly.

Ivy did not understand. She had thought that she had made it clear, with the school, to leave him alone. The guys had stopped bullying him, since she had bargaining power against them. Her standing on the high school hierarchy let her do this without all-out saying they needed to leave him alone, but the girls just did not get it. Not that she was being territorial, Ivy didn't want that. She wasn't a psychotic lover, but she felt for him, considering her issues with Cain. And she knew how she could fix it.

Ivy moved towards the group of girls, hovering in the back before one of them noticed her. It was Anita, dressed in a cute black turtleneck, and ascot. She glanced at Ivy, then glanced again, before wordlessly stepping to the side to let her through. The silent exchange was repeated with most of the other girls, before she ended up managing to come up next to Christopher. The inside of the circle was stressful, and she found herself in the same position that he had been in: unable to come up with something to say. She bit her lip, as the voices came up around her, and nothing came through her head.

Ivy made eye contact with Christopher, and still nothing. Finally, she said something. "What are you guys wondering about?" The looks of recognition slowly came over the pack, as the un-truth dawned on them. But no. They would not take it. "Wait... we've never seen you hold hands." "Or kiss." "Or anything!" The girls called, determined to never accept that Christopher simply wasn't interested. Then Ivy looked up at Christopher again, he was taller than her, and searched in his eyes from some sign, a flicker or an idea. Because Ivy was fresh out of them.

Christopher paused, this was getting out of hand, everyone around them just wouldn't give up. These girls demanded an answer or something, and it was always so annoying having to deal with these people. What was with all these girls at this school anyways? There were too many questions to even answer a single one and it seemed like the school staff didn't find this whole thing unusual. He would be happy when he got away from this whole school. He wanted to just get rid of everything and leave this place for good. This was just getting worse and worse as Christopher didn't answer and the girls got impatient and more angry.

Christopher wasn't sure what he was going to do now, they were questioning whether or not him and Ivy were in a relationship. He wasn't even sure how that started, or what he was supposed to do about this whole thing. Everything he thought about though wasn't going to help them. It was all aweful and he just stared at the ground as he waited for the girls to turn into a mob and just start an attack. He would have to take it all, especially since he was still went with the fact that he couldn't hit a girl, no matter what they did to him. There was no reason to break that rule he had already made, now he would have to test how well he could stick to that rule.

An idea hit Christopher all of a sudden, he didn't move yet though, he glanced at Ivy. This could be fixed very simple, not that he really wanted to do this. Hopefully Ivy would just go with the whole thing. He hated having to do this to her but it was the only way for them to get through this. He turned and kissed Ivy on the lips, it was supposed to be a quick one but it was like his heart was the one controling him now. Ivy's lips were so sweet and soft. When he realized what he was doing he pulled away and placed his arm around her waist to keep her close to him.

"I don't like to make out with people in public, it's disgusting. But, if it's going to stop all of you from doing this again or bothering me again, then it was necessary. Now, if you would let us get to our next class already, we will happily be on our way." Christopher said, the girls seemed to all grow silent and parted, all grumbling about how they didn't find him that attractive anyways, and how Ivy could do so much better. Once they were out in the hall way, Christopher realized his arm was still wrapped around Ivy's waist and quickly pulled away. "Sorry about that back there, it was the only way to get them away before they started to attack or something."

Ivy could almost feel the idea hit Christopher, and she glanced upwards, confused as to what it actually was. She turned towards him and opened her mouth to speak, but before she could say anything, his lips silenced her. She understood what his plan was, now. Ivy nearly drew back in the first moment, but as he began to be more daring, she went along with it, kissing him back.

In that moment, the world didn't matter. The group of girls' words silenced as she closed her eyes, tasting his warmth. His lips on hers felt amazing, and she vaguely thought about her vanilla lip smackers. She let him take the lead, and after an instant the touch was far less tentative. Then, with what felt to be far to short a time, he drew away, and she gasped slightly, the world coming back into focus. She took a second to compose herself, then continued the act.

As Christopher's arm wrapped around her waist, she felt as if he was holding her there so she wouldn't run away. It only made Ivy think of just how clueless he was. Either way, she laid her head against his shoulder as he addressed the crowd. It worked, and the girl's musings were obnoxious but accepting. When the pair walked away from them, Ivy fell back into a content state. Him holding onto her felt like normalcy, and she was only reminded that it was not when he spoke.

"It worked." Ivy responded inwardly, her words a bit careful. A pink tint had risen to her cheeks as his arm fell away from her, and she looked down at the floor, not meeting his eyes. She had no idea what this meant, and it was difficult to even think about. Her mind told her that Christopher was just using her position as his best friend as the way out of the situation. But the kiss felt like more than that. And how she wanted it to be more as well.

"I wish everything was more simple." Ivy said, more to herself than Christopher.

Christopher sighed and looked at Ivy, it seemed harder to look at her all of a sudden, like she made his heart skip a beat or have a heart attack. Maybe it was time to just accept what was going on, but there was no way he could lead her on when he had to get going to the next town as soon as possible. He wasn't in this world to have fun or run around getting girls, he was around to find the only girl that mattered to their village. He wondered what Ivy thought of now, it seemed that there was a lot for the both of them to think about now.

Then those two words Ivy said, had Christopher paying more attention than he probably needed to. He looked at Ivy for a moment, wondering if that would even be a granted wish. There was some kind of hope in him that made him wish Ivy was that wishmaker he had been looking for. It would make things so much easier and it would make him so much more happier. He wondered what she meant by everything being more simple, since that could mean so much, really such a wish that seemed so vague didn't seem to ever go so well. Then again that was only in the stories with genies and other magical creatures that gave people their wishes.

Maybe it was just time to take a chance, he had the rest of his life to find this one girl, right now though, he could live his own life. It had been a while since he had been able to do something like that, or even have a life. He remembered how everything had to change when he lived in the village and he was chosen to be one of the ones that would search for the wishmaker. When he was in the village he actually had a girlfriend, a secret he would rather take to his grave. That girl was long dead, and no matter how much he had loved that girl, she was excited that he was picked as one of the chosen. That made him feel a little worse about the whole thing.

"Listen, Ivy...how about we go out to dinner tonight?" Christopher asked. He wasn't really sure what was comming out of his mouth anymore. He wanted to just say it was a date, but that wasn't something that he thought would even be able to come out of his mouth anymore. He wasn't even sure what he was thinking, letting himself be caught in the drama of human life. It was hard for him to think of what could happen next and he would hate to think Ivy would say now. He wanted to just slip away now and hide, but he just looked at the ground and kept walking right along side Ivy.

Once the blush had gone away, Ivy stole a quick look up at Christopher, to see what he was thinking. Of course, when she did that, the heat came right back up to her cheeks, and they were a bright red in no time. She ran her hand through her mess of hair, somewhat slowly simply because it was rather knotted. As they walked in a remotely alright silence, she wondered if she should ever do anything about it. Her hair would fit under the messily-styled stylist ruling, or carefully crafted bedhead. But she did not comb it, or curl it, or straighten it usually. Not that it was not well kept.

When she realized that she had somewhat out of the world of normalcy, she looked back up at Christopher. She thought that he had been grappling with something, and was a bit curious about what it was. Yet she did not want to launch into a bickering discussion which would occasionally disrupt the easy relationship that the two had between each other. Besides, Ivy figured that he had just as much on his mind as she did, no matter if her consciousness chose to occupy her thoughts with filler.

He was closing himself off to her, like usual. The book he was writing in earlier, she remembered, wasn't anything she had seen, or heard him talk about before. Even though Ivy trusted him, she sometimes thought that he did not open up to her to the same extent. She didn't know about his past or parents. But then again, those weren't the normal talk that high school students concentrated on. It could be perfectly normal. It must be, Ivy decided. Because Christopher wouldn't lie to her, she knew that for a fact.

His words interrupted Ivy, and she almost had to ask what he said again. But then she understood, and made eye contact with him. "Sure," she said. "You still owe me for ditching out on that extravaganza my parents dragged me to, anyways." Ivy quipped, pushing him slightly for joking emphasis. Then she smiled and laughed, lightening up the tense mood a bit.

Christopher looked at Ivy and smiled, "Hey, I told you I had a lot of things I needed to get done. I can't go to every boring thing your parents bring you to, I'd be out of a life." He joked back. he was hoping that would be a good enough reply and it was just great to be out of the whole tense moment. It relieved him a lot for things to go back to normal and just be fun, like it always was. He didn't want her to be annoyed with him or think that this whole thing was creepy. It was like everything finally was going right, now that the mood was lighter and a little more upbeat.

Though there was a little bit of him that made him think that he wanted the mood to stay serious. It would have probably been a little better for him, because now he was a little unsure. He was unsure that she really liked him and if that yes was just for two friends going out to eat at some fast food joint, or two people interested in a relationship going to a nice restaurant to learn more about each other. He wondered if there was some way he could just tell these things without having to ask Ivy or to just be given the chance to know what was going on between them now.

Christopher felt like this was just a repeat with his past, back then he was always unsure about everything. He hated not being sure about something, he wanted to know that he was right, that he was making the right choice for everything. "Where do you want to go to eat?" Christopher asked as they got to their next class. He figured he could figure out what they were doing if Ivy knew of some place she wanted to go. It would leave him with less stressing over picking the right place and figure out where this whole thing was actually going to go.

Once they were in the class room Christopher took his seat next to Ivy, like he always did. This time though, he saw a lot of girls and guys glaring at him, he felt a bit uncomfortable about this, but there wasn't much he could do about this anymore. He was just going to have to deal with whatever was thrown at him, and live with what was going to happen. He was choosing to do something he really wasn't supposed to do but maybe something good would happen out of this and if not, he would break it off soon and leave. It may break his heart to do something like that but he wanted to do something that made him happy for once.

"Isn't that a terrible way to be a best friend?" Ivy said, shaking her head in mock disapproval. In an instant, she regretted her comment. Best friend? Was that what Christopher was to her? Surely she considered him to be something, but she also had other feelings for him. And she did not want to limit their relationship to simple friendship. Ivy didn't know if he felt the same, but she was surely not planning on dropping hints that he was not ever going to be something more. That was the opposite. Ivy added, "Or should I say 'boyfriend?'" She said it with air quotes, glancing back in fear at the slowly moving students as they began to head to class as well.

If anything, they needed to keep up the act of being together simply for Christopher's sanity. And walking side-by-side was too normal. Anyone could do that. The girls who had confronted them earlier were shooting daggers their direction, and it worried Ivy. Frankly, though, she was somewhat unhappy with their present state. She did not want to pretend to be dating Christopher. She wanted to actually date him, or to definitely not date him, at the worst. Because she liked romance, and she did want to have some type of male companion. It would preferably be the one walking beside her, but if it was never going to happen for real, she needed to move on. Ivy was not one for holding on to hopeless crushes.

Maybe she would tell him that at dinner, tonight. Oh, how the ulterior motives were already forming. But, no. Ivy was determined that she would have a fun night. She hoped that it was a date, but couldn't be sure. The question was blank, and he did not specify. She had to play it cool, but the place could not be a surprise. What would she wear? The friend-date line would make a definite difference between the outfit of choice. She would ask him, before he asked her first.

Then, of course, he asked her. Ivy knew that she wasn't going to select the place, because she had no idea what Christopher was thinking about. Telling him this, she said lightly: "That's your job, Casanova. But, somewhere that isn't, like, McDonald's, yes?" She scrunched her nose in disgust, hinting that fast food wasn't on her list of sweet places to go. This would seal the deal. If it was a date, he'd pick something nicer, or romantic. And, if it wasn't, another local burger joint, maybe. She hoped for the former, of course, but it was a little old fashioned to go to a fancy dinner for kids in high school. But she kind of liked the essence of chivalry in it, truthfully.

Their arrival in class was anything but normal. They sat down, and the glares came. Ivy wanted to disappear into her desk, especially when her friends gave her the "Why didn't you tell me?" looks. The boys that were going for her looked jealous, and the girls, despicable. Smiling serenely back, Ivy simply returned her attention to Christopher.

Christopher paused for a moment when he heard the best friend thing, he didn't like that anymore. That wasn't something he wanted to hear, he had no idea what was wrong with it now, it just seemed to shoot an arrow right through his heart. He hoped that wasn't the way she really felt. It wasn't really something he wanted to ask about, or was it something that he was supposed to just say? He wasn't sure how thing went anymore, the last time he had a relationship was a long while back and that relationship was killed when Christopher had to go away on his mission.

Christopher then heard her say boyfriend and it almost made his heart skip a beat. He looked at Ivy and smiled at the words, though he never said a word about it. He asked about the restuarant thing though and she answered with only something that isn't fast food. He wondered what that meant, did that mean a casual place that just wasn't fast food or some place that was fancy and had food that costed so much that teenagers shouldn't be able to afford it unless they stole their parent's credit card.

"Alright, I guess I'll work something out." Christopher answered. He thought about it and figured he would just take a chance at this, he had the money to do this anyways, the savings he had was big and most of it was paid by his village and some other people that he had never met. He looked at his desk as his cheeks grew red, "Wear something more formal, if you could." He said. He didn't know how Ivy would take that and with his hair hidding his eyes good enough as he just stared at his desk.

Finally after school, Christopher went home, telling Ivy he would pick her up at five, and figure out something they could do after their dinner. He grabbed something dressy, which was pretty much black trousers, nice black shoes, a white button up shirt, a black button up vest and a tie that was tucked neatly in the vest. He then waited for the hour of five to come, though it was taking way too long, even though he had only gotten halfway though his homework. He left early and ended up at Ivy's house exactly at five. He knocked on the door waiting for an answer.
