Her father was a well known scientist. He was the first successful Alteration of more and one animal DNA.
When she was very young Rend went into her fathers lab where she mixed together all the DNA he had in his lab and injected herself with it to become just like him. She didn't completely understand just what she was doing at the time. The foreign DNA in her system almost killed her but she overcame it and is now a huge success story. She hates this fact, she only wanted to become like her father but is seen less like his daughter and more like a test subject. Day after day he would study her and report what he had found to news outlets, magazines, and other large companies. She demanded to be taken away from it all and her father moved her to Shibuya shortly after. He is hardly ever there, usually away on business.
