Synopsis
A young, quiet soul. No more over the age of 17. He hopes to master his craft and complete his studies of Black Magic, soon to use this power to take revenge on the Time Lord that murdered his family. Only to be accompanied by his older brother, Einso.
Description
Volitaire is 5'7. Lightly tanned, and relaxed black hair, and light red iris's. He wears a casual black suit, and matching colored pants. His pants bottoms are boot-cut, and with zippers going up them to the knee, with decorative lining arcing up and down the front, sides, and backs. His shoes, of course, a matching black. His suit jacket is no cut above the rest. Decorative lines pointing diagonal and meeting, making a triangle like patch on his shoulders, white lining on the edges of the jacket, and buttons on folder over long sleeves. Under the jacket is a white linen shirt, with a black tie. He likes to stay a classy casual. His hat with red feathers, is an old possession of his father. He wears it on rare occasion, so he doesn't manage to mess it up.
Personality
Volitaire can be a bit cold and serious, but that's only to hide his inner feelings. Under his steel clad shell is a very sensitive and easily moved young man. He keeps his real feelings inside, for he is afraid to express them and be judged. Volitaire is kind, thoughtful, caring, and likes to remain close to friends. He can also be very quiet. This is usually when meeting or around newer people. Only his closer and more trusted friends or family can receive his warm nature, but he still at the same time can be quiet and go into recluse. It's best to describe him as a close yet distant friend.
Equipment / Abilities
Volitaire used Black Magic as his weapon. His family was a house of magic users, so his studies into magic was greatly encouraged. His older brother, Einso, helped him with his studies. He's able to summon undead, launch blast bolts of necrotic energy at foes, summon obelisks to help aid his magical proficiency and larger summons, pentagrams to create seals, drain life force at a short distance, trap foes in a soul vortex, and fire unholy pillars of raw energy from the sky under certain conditions. His father implanted a virus in Volitaire at a young age. During his sleep and against his will, to increase his ark magic proficiency. But his body didn't accept it, and the virus would at times overcome his will to be able live inside. This virus increases his magical power and helps him cast the higher level spells with more ease. Which was it's chosen intention but without the symbiotic-like effects. It only takes place when he experience a mana withdraw and is experiencing negative emotions at the same time. It's a gateway for the virus because his will is weakened. During the event he has a echoed voice, and makes a somewhat nonsensical rambling almost insane sounding. His body turns into a black entity and has a steam-like aura emanating form his body and his hands grow claw like fingertips. He also has a spellbound weapon. He named it "The Onyx Enigma", due to the unknown capabilities of the weapon. He's had it for many years and it altered to his magic use. Making the sword black, and jagged to the blade. He's been able to perform many odd feats with the weapon. Slicing a mans soul, commanding undead, and using it as a magic amplifier. He knows the weapon has a primary use, unique to the user. But since everything he's done with it has been things he already knows how to do he questions the swords real nature.
History
Volitaire's family wasn't famous, royal, rich, or poor. They were your average family aside from being mages. They made a pact with another family of wizards, who secretly believed in Darwinism. While his family trusted them, the time came when Volitaire's family learned of the newer and more dangerous schools of magic. Time, and Void. This scared the other family, thinking they'll overpower them. The other family, by the name of Ignacii,attacked the Lucaths out of fear. They did it during the night out of cowardice. The massacre was a bloody, burning, and emotionally tormenting mess. Volitaire and his brother witnessed their mother die trying to protect them... In her dying breath she held them close and reassured them everything was alright, telling them to leave and never come back. To keep running and keep the family's name alive. This left Volitaire broken, and indifferent about who he can trust. To this very day he searches for the Ignacii Time Lord that stole his family's spell tomes on Time and Void magic and plot to take his revenge, and avenge his mother.
Extra
Volitaire has more of a magical power than physical.
He does know how to handle himself in a physical fight, he can use his sword with skill, and can run a good enough distance. But he rarely uses his physical strength when battling. He relies heavily on his spells and Onyx Enigma.
