Mitchel 'Rifter' Burkston

Rifter wears a white flat-face mask with hollow black eyes, lips painted at the middle, and face markings (written by his Mother, The Contessa.) The mask is held on by a furry hood, complete with stiff pointed ears; the animal features are part of his Mothers culture and she insists that if he wishes to be a Wordrfter he best dress like a proper one (plus he looks awfully cute). The rest of Rifter's suit is standard black skintight spandex and leather material littered with tiny write writing in his Mothers tongue; the colours represent those of his Father the Liege and the animal of his Mother's tribesmen. Rifter also wears a small leather pouch around his waist that he holds his notebook in, the notebook is attached to the pouch by a long leather strap; Rifter never wants to lose his notebook. Rifter also wears a utility belt containing pouches for chalk, slots for spray paint, slots for pens and a sticky note dispenser; that he had worked into the design.

Under that mask of his Mitchel has a tuff of ginger atop of his head, hazel eyes and a shy smile. His skin is a light brown, a mix of his Mothers darker skin and his Fathers light white skin. He stands at about four foot two, with a slender lanky build; tiny waist, long legs and arms, and little muscle on his thin body. However, he is not sickly thin either, he has enough meat on his bones to keep him healthy looking.

Rifter has the ability to wordrift, he is able to take key words and turn them into rifts (portals), in order for words to hold any power Rifer must know their meaning and they must hold some connection to him. Each rift can do different things depending on the combination of words used, but can also backfire terribly or not work all together. To strengthen his phrases Rifter carries around a notebook and inside writes word combinations that he's found to be the most powerful (he's also terribly forgetful and often forgets words and uses his notebook like a thesaurus.) It is rumored his Father The Liege is able to wrodrift through time, but Rifter hasn't yet figured out how he does it. 

Rifter is the son of The Liege and The Contessa (whom The Liege brought back from a time unknown and married, because she shared the same ability as him.) Rifter's real name is Mitchel Burkston, he's 12 years old and he is a member of a League Super Heroes. However, unlike the rest he is young a child still, but a powerful one if focused in the right direction. He has spent most of his life learning what he can do, taking direction from his Father and Mother with diligence. He seeks refuge and solace in their guidance, knowledge and is often found with them when he's not off admiring his idols.

Because he hasn't spent much of his life outside of the League Rifter can be a bit more mature than he should be. Having seen things kids normally don't, having done things kids normally can't, and being taught things kids never learn Rifter has developed some strangely adult habits, desires and personality traits. It can be eerie and sometimes people forget his age, least until they look down to their knees and see the brat Rifter really is.
