"At least you tried. That's what counts." He smiled and gave her a comforting hug.
"I usually don't do this, but I do have movies on demand. You can buy one to watch if you want." He offered handing her the controller.
"Horton Hears A Who? Sure. Why not?"
He smiled at her and gave a chuckle.
His smile instantly faded. "Continue. Please." He said as calmly as he could. He itched to leave and destroy the man, but he refused to leave Ella alone.
He couldn't help it. He stood and went for the closet. "I'll be back soon." He said with a silent sob in his voice. 'I knew something was wrong.... But not that it was this bad...' Hope stopped as he felt tears go down his face.
Hope walked as quickly as he could through the park. He couldn't fly, not with tears in his eyes. He didn't notice anything around him. The only thing he knew was the sadness he felt for Ella, the utter rage at her foster father, and cool steel in his pocket.
As he continued his walk he stopped in front of Ella's Old home. "I... I need to do this... No one... No one needs to have one of these filthy dirt bags near them again.... But..." His hand gripped the steel in his pocket, pulling out an electric blue ACP Pistol. "Can I really do this?" After a few seconds, he pulled out his cell phone with his other hand and called his home phone, praying that Ella picked up.
Ella? It's Me. Hope. I'm sorry that I left so abruptly. Can you forgive me?
His eyes closed, he made up his mind. His wings unfurled and he took off to the sky. "I'm not meant for killing..." He said as he flew above the city and to his house. He sighed before dropping his gun into the river between his neighbor hood and the park. Phone still in hand, he called the police and informed them of a rapist living in the southwestern part of town. When he hung up he flew down to his house and went inside.
He walked quietly to Ella's room and left a rose on her bed. "I don't deserve you." He said to himself as he laid down on the couch in the living room.
Hearing his voice, he got up and walked to her room. "Yes Ella?" Hope whispered.
A tear came to his eyes. "Don't be sorry. Don't you ever be sorry for something you can't control. I don't care that your not normal. To me, your perfect how you are." He walked over to her and hugged her tightly, tears coming down his face. "No one as amazing as you should have ever had to have dealt with that."
He laid down beside her and still held her tightly tears still falling from his face.
"Because you had to go through that. I don't like it. Not at all. That and... I... I almost killed today Ella." He said, looking ashamed of himself.
"I just.... I don't know anymore... I don't know what's right and what's wrong. I thought I used to... but now... I... I just.." He shook his head, trying not to freak out anymore than he already was.
Soon enough, his tears stopped, and his breathing slowed. His vision got darker, and his eyelids started to droop. "I don't want to lose you." Was the last words he said as sleep overcame him.
Time passed and Hope awoke to him cuddling Ella in his sleep. It took all of his self control not to make a noise to wake her up.
He felt small emotion coming from Ella and he moved closer to her, trying to comfort her.
He tightened his grip on her. "Ella. Ella honey wake up. Your fine. Your safe. Ella Please, wake up." He tried to wake her with his comforting words.
Miguel stood up and flew away. He didn't want to disturb his friends so he left quietly without saying anything. He wanted to keep exploring the city and see if he could find where the demon's headquarter was. He flew around trying to feel the something that could lead him to his objective.
He noticed her stop thrashing about and gave a small smile of relief. 'She's better now.' He snuggled up against her and laid down with her eyes closed.
He chuckled. "What? No 'Good Morning'?" He teased and shook his head with a smile on his face. "What am I going to do with you?"
"Well good morning anyways. Do you actually want to watch Horton Hears a Who today?" He suggested since they were going to watch it yesterday.
He paused for a moment. "And how is that stopping us from watching the movie?" He got up, and pulled the handle leading into the underground room. He went down and flicked a switch. After a few seconds, a TV came out of the wall across from the bed. As Fallen laid down next to her, he said. "I don't see why we can't."
After a few moments, everything was set up. "Popcorn? Soda? Candy?"
After coming back with popcorn he laid behind her so she had a wider view of the movie. "Just press play whenever."
He cuddled up against her and watched the movie that he hasn't seen before.
His eyes widened after the movie was over. "I can see why this is one of your favorites. It's soooooooo gooooooooooooood."
He looked at her, noticing her silence. "Hey... You okay?"
