Enzo kept silent, and stuck to the back of the crowd. Enki felt his frustrating aura around him, and thought it was because of whatever odd flame Enzo was emitting. He felt Enzo was more aggressive. He would have asked about it, but Enzo seemed annoyed enough by accusations and the like.
Enki patted Enzo on the shoulder. "It's fine, Sky. I don't have a girlfriend either." Had Enki known that would make things worse, he wouldn't had said that just now. Enzo stayed silent, his head sinking into his shoulders with every passing second.
As she felt her head touch her pillow, she curled up and hugged it's softness to her cheek. Eos hadn't slept too much last night, spending most of the night talking out her feelings with her brother. Combined with all the energy she just exerted, she was ready for a nap. "I'm sorry..." She smiled, "Can we spend some time together again later?" She briefly looked up at him, admiring his bare chest and arms. She was so used to him leaving for days at a time so letting him go was hard.
He smiled. "Of course." He layed down next to her and scooted close. He wrapped his arm around her stomach and pulled her to him and layed on her shoulder. "Eos...I do have good news from yesterday though. I managed to control the Virus too. So that's not a worry." He sounded relaxed and carefree. He never really got to sit down and really talk to her... In this case, cuddling and talking to her.
"I'm sorry, Enzo." Maya said, shrinking in size. She didn't want to make her friend upset, but it seems that's what she had done. Was that what he was upset about earlier? Damn. "Sure, Maria, let's go eat cake." She said, and forced a light smile, beginning to pull her along, towards the village. Maya also looked back, giving Enki a worried look. I didn't mean to... she wanted to tell them, but she looked forward again, lowering her head.
A smile befell her tired features and she felt as though he was saying everything he hoped for him to say. "Really...?" It all seemed so unreal, "I'm so glad... maybe this means I'll finally have some good luck." A light laugh left her before she felt herself slowly drift off. "Voli~..." She cooed at his warmth before falling asleep.
He gently moved his fingers through her locks to try and relax her a little more. He was feeling tired himself. He woke up to fighting Enzo, he recently used his Virus that he hadn't gotten used to just yet, and he had a falling out with Seraph. He figured he should rest too. He slowly closed his eyes after securing his hold on Eos. He yawned and gave her a kiss on the cheek before falling asleep beside her.
David watched as JD leaned down and pecked Silver right on the lips before leaving. Silver blushed lightly and couldn't help but smile all dopey-like. David, seeing this, grew annoyed and reached out in front of her and snapped his fingers. "Earth to Silver, we got an issue on our hands." Silver snapped back to reality, and looked to David. "What is it? Was it really necessary to interrupt us like that?" she questioned, frowning at him. "Someone payed me a visit just moments ago. You know who that someone is? Someone who doesn't like it when you leave." Silver's face grew pale. She knew exactly who he was talking about, and didn't like where this was going. "Did he hurt you, are you alright? What did he say? Oh no, David, you shouldn't have come here.. You should leave. Leave soon. Okay?" She began looking him up and down for potential injuries he may have received, and let out a sigh of relief when she found none.
"I'm fine, and I'm not leaving, either." He declared. "Voltaire and I were both discussing this. He's just as concerned about you as I am. And you should tell your... Boyfriend, too." He didn't exactly enjoy saying the word boyfriend. "If you're going to be around him, he has a right to know what he's up against, should anything happen."
Silver frowned, thinking that there was a possibility something would happen, especially if she left school grounds. "..Yeah... You're right..." Silver glanced down to her swords, which still had her little charms on them. She smiled, twirling one around her finger a bit before looking back up at David. "Don't do anything stupid, and don't get yourself killed. I don't want to lose you again, David." She was tense, and it showed. She quickly gave him a tight hug, which surprised David, but he still returned it, putting his hand on the back of her head lightly. "I'll be fine. Everything will be okay." He put his hands on her shoulders and looked her straight in the eyes. "Go tell JD about this. He deserves to know, and I need to know if he can keep you safe," he explained as he smiled weakly, leaning down and giving her a small kiss on her forehead. She nodded, looking down. He turned her around, and gave her a little shove in the direction of the training room, and she walked away. David frowned watching her go, but she needed to do it. David turned around, wondering where to go next. He didn't really have a place to go, and Voltaire seemed to be the only one friendly with him at this point. He began to wonder where Maya was.
Meanwhile, Silver walked straight to the training room in hopes of finding JD inside.
Maria was a little confused but nodded anyways, following Maya and singing a small little charm along the way, " Cake~ Oh dear sweet cake~ How much I love you so~ " She sung softly her voice filling the air and adding a little cheer to it. She smiled and skipped a little as she walked along with Maya but looked back to see Enzo not looking to happy. " What's wrong with Enzo, Maya? " She asked softly and greatly concerned.
"I don't know, but I don't think we should press into it." She frowned, walking along. She turned her head and took a long look at the school. It looked the same, but, now... nothing was the same. Maya was, however, pleased by Maria's innocent antics. Someone who had not been through what they had was refreshing. She wondered again about where Maria had went. "No scientists are going to be taking you anywhere ever again." She said, playfully growling but her killer instincts rising up to the surface again.
Enzo could hear their conversation, but didn't speak much on it. They came across the cafe, and Enzo remembered he hadn't eat anything today. He nodded over to the cafe. "I'll be over here." He said, breaking off from the group with Enki behind him. Sure, Enzo was upset, but he was more hungry then that.
He got himself his regular ramen and started eating it at an empty table. Enki didn't get anything, but he sat down as well. The red haired boy took out a mobile game device of some kind, and started playing on it.
JD was content to let his mind take a vacation and let his body take control of his every action. He had stripped his jacket and thrown it to the side, and pulled his shirt off in hopes of not getting it dirty. The boy had pondered rather shortly if he would actually ever attend classes, but was assured as long as no one enforced it- he had no need. This was Sorcerers a place for magic users he didn’t need to know algebra, geometry, geography, or a history of a world that he felt so commonly repeated its’ own mistakes. Of course the little blonde British boy implored the English language to give him all its’ secrets, but he had use his tongue most of his life to get them out of lots of situations.
When him and Eos broke away from those that had torched his family estate and hung his parents by the rafters as the building smoldered around them- they didn’t immediately find the circus. For quite some time they begged on the street, pan-handled, and inevitably stole from pockets and purses alike. They were not only saved by their quick wits and Eos’s naturally innocent-seeming nature but also JD’s tendency to speak in a Shakespearian manner. It wasn’t until someone thought to carve his abdomen with their switch blade did he finally use his power. When he had hoisted a cab above his head in rage did their days on the street end- because on the other end of that sidewalk was a very interested entrepreneur. Next thing JD knew he was the new Strong Man in a carnival that barely understood how to implore magic users properly.
Now he was here-
It was probably for the best given the mess that him and Eos left in St. Albans.
When Silver entered he was in the middle of stretching- full splits actually. While most people would probably cringe at a man entering in such a position- he seemed quite at ease with it. He had also had to do a few acrobatic tricks when he was in the circus as well- JD had done well as a Jack-of-all-Trades. “Have a nice ‘private’ chit-chat?” He mused as he pulled his body forward- his torso practically flush with the floor. “You just missed all the crunches, leg lifts, and push-ups. Sorry. But now you get to enjoy how freakishly flexible I am. I assure you the crown jewels are still safe.” Slowly JD pulled himself from the ground and stood in front Silver. “Would give you a hug, but you know- I’m a bit moist. Don’t want to get sweat all over your blouse.” JD sighed. “So- what is up with David? I would say he was 'clingy' but that seems to be a bit light on the description of his undying love for you.”
David looked around the cafe, seeing if there was anyone he knew around. He noticed Enzo and Enki sitting not too far away. They didn't seem to be busy, so he wandered on over to them, sitting down at their table. "Hey, friends. Mind if I join you?" Of course, their response didn't matter either way considering he had already seated himself. He didn't seem to be as cheerful as he had been, and he put his elbow on the table, leaning his head on his hand. "....So what's up?"
Silver stood in front of JD, trying not to pay any attention to how he was a bit sweaty and shirtless. Not to mention how flexible he seemed to be, which impressed her; she had never seen a guy do the splits like that. Then he started talking about David, and she sighed. "He's just.. Very protective of me, is all," she tried to explain as she looked down. "..I actually need to talk to you about our little conversation.. It seems we may be in a bit more danger than I thought.. Remember how someone almost killed me a little while back?..." She looked up at him, with almost an apologetic look on her face. She didn't want him involved- hell, she didn't want anyone involved. But they were, and it was a little late for them to back out now.
Enzo had stuck to his food, not caring to look who it was that approached them. The voice confirmed that it was David. "Sure." He said. Enki gave David a smile as he sat down. "Nothing at all, David." Enzo replied, nearly finished his food. "I didn't get any sleep last night.."
“Protective is one word to describe his actions, but not the word I would have chosen.” JD stated basely as he listened to Silver. He did remember that night- it was the same one that he asked her out on. Probably poor timing on his part, but she had said yes and he had been all the better for it. “Yes- the night that that Creep Ginger found you with Voltaire.” JD probably needed to stop giving everyone nicknames, but there was a time and place for that revelation and it was not today. “So- ah- who is trying to kill you? Does this have anything to do with your family?"
Maria smiled and nodded in agreement. " Don't worry with such good friends around and you big sister I know that nothing bad will happen ever again " she said, holding her arm again and looking up at her. It was odd calling her big sister even when they looked nothing at all alike but it seamed almost like they were so she dicided to do so. No sooner then a moment later she was tugging on Maya's arm and looking at a delicious looking cheesecake with a large amount of various berries onto. " Sis can we buy this and bring it back for everyone to enjoy? I think it'd be a pick me up for everyone " She said smiling happily
"Well... Not really, kind of.." She paused. "It's the guy who raised me, you see. He was always very harsh on me and he doesn't like the fact that I'm making all these friends, so he threatened to kill everyone if I didn't cut off all connections.." she explained. "But, of course, I didn't.. And he just spoke to David not too long ago, which worries me.." She looked down at her hands and decided to get to the point.
"The point is, I have no idea what he'll do. But he's very strong, and incredibly dangerous.. I'm not even sure if he's ever been beaten." Silver looked back up to JD, a pained look in her eyes. "I don't want you or anyone else to get hurt. So, I'll understand if you'd rather stay away from me for the time being." Ending her explaination, she crossed her arms.
Meanwhile, David was having a little chat with Enzo. "Sorry to hear that, bro. Something wrong?" He asked, glancing to Enzo.
Enzo shook his head slowly. "Nothing I want to talk about." He stood up, and disposed of his bowl. "I'm going to get some sleep now, I know it's still early, but, i've done all my school things for today, I assume." He waved to Enki and David before leaving the cafe, and returning to his dorm room.
Once inside, he saw Kenji sleeping, but not like he usually does. He looked troubled in whatever dream he was having. Enzo put away his things, tidied up some, and laid down for the rest of the day.
JD listened to her and his expression became more dower the longer she spoke. He inevitably shook his head when she finished her explanation, and placed both hands on her shoulders. “Aye- look- he’s not going to do anything to me- I promise. I’m a smart kid. I mean I may not have an array of powers like everyone else does, or lasers shooting out of my eyeballs; but I’m smart and I’m hella versatile- so don’t worry. I don’t worry about you.” He paused. “Alright that was a lie- I do worry about you.”
He would have roped her into a hug at that moment if he was assured she wouldn’t get musty or moist from his close presence. “This just means I’ll have to hang around you more- we are going to keep this fella from ruining your life. And first things first- lets’ not discuss me wanting to not be around you anymore. Of course I want to be around you Silver.” JD smiled. “If anything you’ve now just earned yourself my presence for as long as I can give it. I mean I don’t think I’m allowed in the girl’s dorm at night, but for the most part.” He had no grandeur illusions that he was invincible, but he didn’t want Silver to worry about how he took care of himself. JD always figured he had nine lives, and he was probably just working on this sixth right now. And he would gladly forfeit as many as it would take to keep her safe.
“Now come on.” He stated as he pulled away. “Maybe we can train a bit- be ready for the next time he comes. How does that sound eh? Because I think I need to punch the shit out of him the next time I see him, or maybe thank him a bit. I don’t really know. Because if he hadn’t injured you that night I don’t think we would be here- now. Still doesn’t make it right and I’m breaking his nose for it.” JD nodded- affirming that that was his course of action.
Honestly he wished he could make it come true-
That day, Boone had been watching the activities of Team Valor and their close friends. They wouldn't talk about where they've been, so there was no more use for 'staff spying'. Instead, Boone took a different course of action. He gave most of the students at Sorcerers a field trip- One that would give the school some time to repair damages, and tighten up on things that needed it.
In addition to the students being sent away, they were able to each bring 2 people of their choice, whether they be affiliated with the school or not. It was optional for them.
On the next day, after the students had received word of the trip, they were sent off on a commercial flight over to America. An important thing they had to remember was: Magic in America is banned. Why? People were using it for bad then good. Any magic school that would open, it would have either gone out of business due to the massive amounts of lawsuits, or it would just blow up completely. Not to mention it raised the crime rate. So the students were nearly branded with this rule on their skin:
Do not use magic of any kind while in America.
No sweat, right?
Due to all the sleep Enzo and Kenji had the night before, they were wide awake during the flight. They were lucky enough to get window seats, and first class, along with the other Team Valor members [Which include everyone who went to Gaze. Yes, you're now Team Valor if you weren't before].
It was about 30 minutes left in their flight, and all they had to really do was check in at a motel that had agreed with Sorcerers to house it's students. There had been some reports of missing flights, and it was blamed on the weather. Nevertheless, Enzo and Kenji had forgotten all about it, and were watching the sea from the window of the plane. "I think I can see sharks down there!" Enzo chuckled. "Idiot, you can't see sharks from this height." Kenji replied, but he was looking into the window just as much as Enzo was.
Volitaire was resting his head on his hand, peering out the window of the aircraft. The sky was beautiful from this height. It was something he's never seen before. He was more amazed that this was the work of modern machinery. He always imagined magic-powered machines could only be capable of this. He yawned, becoming too relaxed with the scenery and pulled a book on American History out of his bag he took from Sorcerers. He flipped to the pages where Magic was the headline topic and read through, seeing what made magic such a nuisance. "Thirty minutes...that's enough time."
After a little bit of sightseeing, Kenji went back to his seat, which was Enzo's head. "Now, for more important things..." Kenji pointed over to a book that was laying on the seat next to Enzo. "Oh no.." He muttered as he saw it. The book was for people trying to learn English. Enzo having been in Italy and Japan, English wasn't his strong suit. He picked up the book and slowly opened it. "Keep practicing. We don't have much time before we're on the mainland."
[* Will stand for a different language.]
*C-...C-..Could.. I... d-...drank... *
David was sitting right next to the window, staring out at the wonderful view of the water below them. "Ahh, how nice. I haven't been on a plane in such a long time!" He leaned back taking a sip from a water bottle he had gotten earlier. He looked over to Silver, who was not enjoying the trip at all. She was frozen, her hands clenched to the arm rests on her seat, staring forward. Her face was expressionless, though it was obvious she was terrified. "W-Why... Did I ever... Agree to this?... Why a p-plane? Why not a... B-Boat..." She kept mumbling to herself. David rolled his eyes. "Calm down, it's just a plane. It's probably safer than a boat anyways. Look, see all the water below us? Isn't it nice?" Silver moved for the first time the entire flight; she glared at him, reached over, and smacked him very hard upside the head, knocking off his glasses, causing them to fall to the floor. "Ow, Jesus, woman. You need to relax," he told her as he picked up his glasses, wiping them off a bit and putting them back on. Silver was back in position, clinging to the arm rests. A flight attendant passed by, wondering if she was alright, but David assured her everything was fine. Silver, however, was not convinced.
"We're goin' to the states! We're going to the states! Heigh-ho, the derry-o we're goin' to the states~!" Eos sang her silly version of The Farmer in the Dell as she swung her pointer fingers around in the air. Let's just say, if her expression and overall delight shining from her presence wasn't enough - she was more than excited to visit America. "JD, Aren't you absolutely floored? We've never been to America before!" Her eyes darted to the window, staring out below her. "Which county - er, I mean state will we be arriving in?" She asked her brother, forgetful since the last time he told her at the beginning of the flight.
Jacen sat in his seat, using his tablet to look up things to do in America.
I didn't do shit...but they're gonna send us to America. On their dime, at that. I JUST got to this school...you'd think my dad would have questions about it, but nope. Just have fun, he says. It should be a learning experience he says. He pulled up the shade at his seat and looked out the window...city was in a view making everything look like a grid.
I better see some attractive women or this trip ain't shit...
Maya scoffed at Eos's gleeful attitude, but her attention was torn away by Maria's double cheerfulness. Maya had brought along a cake on the plane, and asked that it would be stored away. They had finally brought it out, which almost made her feel happy and childish. Almost. Dark and twisted roots kept hold of Maya's thoughts, and she sighed and leaned on the armrest to her aisle seat. She closed her eyes, and somehow found herself in a dreamy state.
The place she found herself in the same cold and darkness as before. She should have been scared, but no fear came. It almost felt... homely. There, she saw the same dark figure, who also didn't scare her. In fact, this same dark figure felt like more of a friend than anyone she'd ever known. She smiled as it drew closer. From the darkness, it revealed itself. Ryuu? she cooed. This dragon did not look fearsome. Instead, he looked like his trustworthy young self, who would never betray anybody. She placed a hand on his cold scales, and eventually leaned forward to hug him. Maya, my best friend. His voice in her mind was soothing. What are you doing with them? Those humans? At first she was confused, but he explained. You know you can't live around them forever. You're not meant to. Do you remember who you said you'd wait for? Why are you betraying him for them? They're worthless! Only out to destroy you, don't you see? It's what Ryuu had been pushing through her mind ever since she had arrived, and so she was not so objective. What do you suggest we do? She tilted her head. You know I'll never run away. But you won't have to! He quickly added. I will save you from all of them. Just let me... Through his mind, she saw flickering images of a terrible plane crash, the end of Team Valor. Maya objected immediately, pushing him away, but he coaxed her more. The more she let him near, the more the darkness took over until she finally agreed without hesitation. Her eyes and skin began to darken upon accepting, feeling evil spread through her. There was nothing she could do now.
Maya's eyes flickered open from this dream. She quietly looked around at her 'teammates,' and smiled devilishly.
Maria was sitting next to Maya on the plane and had fallen asleep, softly breathing and moving a little, slipping and hitting her head on the chair in front of her instantly waking her. " Oww.... Cake... " She mumbled and looked up sleepily. " Maya why didn't you help me there, I thought you said you wouldn't let anything bad happen to me... " She complained pouting and looking up at Maya feeling a little unease and blinking. " Maya... " She said softly her ears folding back.
Seraph sat in his seat with his arms crossed. He looked upset about the fact of leaving to America. A place with no magic huh...sounds rather dull, no place to practice or train up my abilities.
Seraph looked around at the others, talking about how much they enjoyed going to America, or how much they disliked it. Seraph deep inside was lonely, he missed interaction with others, he had no more family or friends around to speak with...
Maybe, I should try and calm down with them...It isn't me who starts going all sociopath like towards people...Its you. Seraph looks down at his amulet with disgust.
“Whoa E- calm yourself- you act as if this a trip to some fairy tale world. I mean you were this excited when we went to Sorcerers. You can’t just be this excited about everything. After a while it just lessens the entire mood.” JD remarked as he attempted to get situated in the seat. The metal detector had had a field day with him- and it wasn’t just because of his pierced ears, nose, and lip ring, or even his studded belt, necklace, ring, and the sheer amount of toggles on his boots- but those detectors seemed to pick up some remnants of his magic. And he wouldn’t lie- he had messed with the fellow with the wand. As he managed to run the metal detector over his crotch- JD used his power. It made the entire situation awkward for the poor reclusive security attendant.
It almost made the British fellow late, but he couldn’t help but get a few good laughs in.
As Eos prodded him for their possible destination- he just shrugged. “Its’ all the bloody same isn’t it. Maybe New York? Isn’t that where most tourists visit? I’m just curious about how some of us are going to get along not being able to use their power. Fortunately I have no problem, but others seem to use it as a crutch to practically live on.” He ran a brisk hand through his hair. “Also- not to mention- if I’m not mistaken we are the only two that speak English fluently. That means-“ it was then he switched to English where his accent forced his words to be almost incoherent. “We’ll rule them like bloody, goddam kings- yeah? Going to get those little buggers in so much trouble, and from what I understand the Americans do love a good British accent. And we sound like we are off of BBC.” He paused, “well a bit thicker than that- but it should be like taking candy from baby.”
It stated clearly on the note slipped under his door a couple of days ago '...because you are a new member of our faculty and you are from the North Americas, you have been selected to chaperon the school trip. Please use maturity and professionalism when escorting the students, and do remind them of the ban of magic in the USA.' Marcus let out a scoff while remembering the letter, leaning a fist against his frowning face. It was true, magic was banned in America some time ago, but he had taught in Canada, where it was heavily monitored and regulated. Though he couldn't blame the faculty for considering him as an American. It was common for the East to be a bit xenophobic. Taking a sip of the warm, flavorless beer the stewardess had given him, he stood up. He stood in the isle and tapped the storage compartment next to him lightly, but loud enough to bring attention to himself. "Everyone. We will be landing in America very shortly." He looked around to make sure everybody was listening, "I want you all to remember to behave yourselves. Western culture is a lot different than what you are used to, but if you act in a calm, mature and respectful manner, you will do fine. And as a reminder, absolutely no magic! Even if it seems childish, please, use the buddy system. You should all have a partner or partners for this trip, try your best to remain with them at all times. As your chaperon, I will be monitoring you all to the best of my abilities. But, I encourage you all to have fun, relax and enjoy yourselves. If anyone needs anything, be it you're ill, lost something, or just want someone to talk to, I will be provided you with cellphones that have American coverage. My name will be in the contact list under Mr. Tormod. Thank you all for you patience, and again, have yourselves a great time." With that, he flashed a sincere smile to the students and took his seat. He laid his head against a pillow and watched the clouds float by the airplane window.
