I looked into his eyes for a moment, then slowly nodded. "Alright.."
I smiled, and I looked down, and then up at the pond. "What happened.. to your parents?"
I stared at him for a long moment, then I sighed and turned away. "Well... When I was 6, I was going to town with my parents.. And I was crying about something, and my dad turned around to yell at me.. And.. He swerved and hit a truck head on...." I took a shaky breath. "My parents didn't make it.. But I crawled out with some injuries.. I have nasty scars on my back.."
I nodded listening to her story, and frowned when she told me what happened.. "I'm so sorry.." I said, and I touched her shoulder softly.. "It must be so hard.."
I sighed and closed my eyes. "If I haven't wanted that stupid toy..."
"Hey.. no.. dont blame yourself. It was not your fault okay? It was an accident.. it couldn't have been prevented, okay?" I said, and I pulled her into another hug. "Don't beat yourself up."
I closed my eyes and hugged him back gently. "I know... But still.." I trembled slightly, but didn't cry.
"Lets head back, come on." I said, and I stood, holding my hand out to her to help her up.
I took his hand and then stood up, reluctantly letting go when I was steady. We began to walk back side by side.
"Sorry.. I. Shouldn't have asked. I didnt mean to make you sad. " I said, and awkwardly rubbing yhe back of my neck
"Don't apologize. It's okay." I looked up at him. "So.. What happened to your parents?" I asked.
"Okay.." I said. And I sighed softly.. "They.. left me. We all went out for dinner, then they both got up, saying they would be right back.. and. They never came back.. turns out they just didnt want me.. and they moved back.."
I frowned and gently took his hand. "I'm sorry." I whispered, squeezing his hand gently.
I took a deep breath.. I hated talking about them. I felt so rejected..
I walked with him hand in hand and slowly dropped his hand once we were back at the orphanage.
"I.. should get back to my room. I have to work on a few things.." I said softly, walking down the hall where the rooms were.
I sighed as I watched him walk away. Why is he always pushing me away? I went to my room and decided to read a book I've ready 6 times. Books are too expensive.
I went to my room and worked on a new song. When my emotions went wack.. I put them in a song.. I had pages and pages of them.
A few hours later I went out for dinner, sitting in a corner. I was feeling strangely isolated.
I wasnt hungry, so I stayed in my room when dinner came around. I had papers all around me, filled with words.. this is how I got my feelings out.. I also had headphones in, and I was listening to music .
After dinner, I went and hung out with Sydney, and then I went and sat on the roof.
I looked outside, to see it was Almost sunset. I got up, the oapers falling off my lap and onto the floor , and I headed down the hall, searching for Aurora. Where was she?
I hummed softly in my head and I laid back on the roof, watching the beautiful sunset.
I stepped outside, and I looked at the sunset. I heard a soft humming, and I looked up seeing something on the roof.. "Aurora?"
I sat up quickly and looked back. "Oh. Hello." I said sheepishly.
"How did you get up there?" I asked, worried she would fall.
"I've lived here forever. I figured it out." I said with a chuckle. "There's a pipe right there you can climb on."
I looked at the pipe, and I slowly crawled onto the roof, and I sat beside her. "Wow.." I said, looking around.
I smiled and wrapped my arms around my knees, resting my chin on them.
"I love watching the sunset.." I said softly. "Sorry I kind of.. disappeared earlier. Had to get things off my chest."
