He was still knocking. I sighed and I opened the door. "Where's my shit, Bitch!" He yelled, and I looked at Carsen, giving her an "I told you so" look before giving him a few boxes, and he said some other harsh words before leaving. "That's why I didn't want to open that door.."
-
"I guess I just don't understand. You hold onto his stuff and he keeps coming back, you give him his shit and he leaves. It's pretty simple, unless you want him to keep coming around,"I said, staring at her. It was true... She kept his stuff, which meant he kept coming around.
-
I just stayed quiet, and I grabbed the wine and poured me some, there goes the one glass rule. "I just.. Don't want to hear it, please.. " I said softly. "You like movies?... Games?.."
-
I rose an eyebrow at her and shook my head softly. She didn't make any sense to me... I nodded softly,"I like both."
-
My relationships, especially that one were just bad conversations. The reason why I didn't want to give his stuff back to him, was because all the things were stuff I had gotten for him. With my money .. And it was hard to give them to him when he was such a terrible person..
"How about a game? So I don't bore you to death." I said, smiling slightly, and I walked over to the TV, and I sat in front of it and I opened the doors on the stand it was on and showed her the games. "Minecraft.. battlefield, all call of duty games..."
-
"Battleship? That's old school,"I said with a grin, chuckling as I glanced at her,"How does it sound?"
-
"Battlefield. Its very different, but a lot of fun." Isaid, looking up at her. "I'll show you how to play." I said, and connected two controllers and I held one out to her
-
I took it in my hand, looking at it oddly,"I've never played video games before..."
-
"I'll teach you. It's fun, take it." I told her, smiling, and I patted the spot by me. This will be fun, I've never taught someone how to play, But I've always wanted too.
-
I sat down beside her and crossed my legs, watching as she powered everything up,"So what's this about?"
-
"Its a shooting game, you're on a team and your goal is to just get kills for your team." I said. "Here's how you walk, and here's how you turn, and this is to aim your gun. " I said and I pointed to all the buttons.
-
I chuckled and nodded,"Sounds like fun..." We played, and I got a hold of it, but I wasn't very good.
-
It was a lot of fun doing this, then we tried another game, Minecraft. "In this one, you build things. In this game mode, anything you want." I said
-
I chuckled softly,"I just don't think I'm the gaming type,"I said as I glanced over at her, setting the controller down.
-
"Oh. Sorry." I said, turning the game system off. "I can't believe you've never played before. This is what mist of my nights consist of." I admitted.
-
I chuckled softly,"I just never had the time,"I said, sipping from my wine glass. I glanced at the time,"UGghhhh... It's so late."
-
I looked at the time, wow.. It really was. "You okay driving?" I asked her, wine had different effects on everyone. We did have a nice evening and I knew every meeting would get better and better.
-
"Oh yeah, this is nothing,"I said with a smile, rising up,"See you in the office tomorrow?"
-
I stood also, and smiled. "Yeah, of course." I said, and I pulled her into a friendly hug. "Thanks for coming over, it was nice to have company." I said as I pulled away
-
I nodded,"Of coarse! Goodnight,"I said with a smile, letting myself out. I got back to my place with ease and went to sleep. I had a really good night, it was fun, and a nice break from work.
(Going to bed, night night!)
-
I crashed soon after she left, really tired after finishing the rest of the wine. And I woke in the morning with a bad hangover.but I was at work on time, so it all worked out

(Night!)
-
I couldn't help but laugh when I saw her and I rose an eyebrow,"Should I have taken that wine home?"
-
I looked over at her, and chuckled, shaking my head. "I don't know what you're talking about." I said, with a wink. "So, anything on the cases? And are you interested in sitting in on interviews with me today?"
-
"Nothing new, still waiting on a report from anyone if they see the van... I'm waiting to hear from the detectives watching her house, though,"I said, swivling in my chair,"I would, but I need to be ready to go..."
-
"Okay, I understand." I said, smiling. "And I hope something comes up with the van, this case needs to get closed. Its close though." I said, grabbing a coffee.
-
I nodded,"Drink some water between those cups of coffee, it'll help rehydrate that hangover,"I teased with a chuckle.
-
"Okay, will do. It must be pretty obvious I'm hung over, huh?" I asked, laughing silently as I sipped on the coffee.
-
"Only a little bit. I can tell because I know you,"I said with a playful smile.
-
"Okay, fair enough. Well I better get to the interview room, I'll catch you later." I said, and patted her arm as I walked off. I really liked her, she was a fun person. And.. After last night, I had something deeper for her, something I couldn't explain
-
I sat around for awhile before my phone rang. They spotted the van picking up our suspect from her home,"Follow her, I'm on my way. Maybe they'll lead us to where they're keeping the girls,"I said as I jumped up and ran out.
-
I was interviewing people when I saw her run past the room, and I knew something must be up. I finished up for the day with that case and I looked over folders from the missing girls case.
-
The van led us across town to a warehouse and I was in uniform so I played it off as if I were writing a ticket. When a woman ran out I informed her that both the van and the liscence plated were reported stolen and I had to investigate. She explained that she owned the plates and that the owner of the van was inside. I told her I needed proof.
-
I hoped that things were going well with Carmen, and I didn't want to contact her and interrupt anything.
-
I had both suspects outside, discussing the "misunderstanding" of the stolen vehicle reports of the two items. I had back up come in from both sides and handcuff the women as I ran inside, calling out for the girls. The echoing of the word "clear" as we swept the building haunted me until I heard "I got them!" I ran. I ran faster than I ever had before. There were all the girls, some in worse shape than others, but none of them were dead. We got the to the hospital and I personally told John, escorting him out.
-
The office was going crazy, they were listening to the scanner, and it said the girls were found, everyone was shouting with excitement, and people ran up and patted my back, knowing Carmen and I worked the case. I didn't take all the credit, I mean, I wasn't there, and most of it was her doing.
-
I was esctatic and when I walked into the hive everyone clapped. I couldn't get the smile off my face... They were safe!!
-
When she walked in I right away greeted her with a hug. "Good job " I said, patting her back as I pulled away, this was huge!
-
"I'm just glad they are all safe and alive,"I said with a grin, shaking my head.
-
"Me too, that was a hard case ." I saId, smiling. Everyone was congradulating her, and it was an amazing sight. I made my way back to my office and looked up more files on my case
-
I followed after her,"How're the interviews going?"
