And with his confident smile back, Sasha smiled too, nodding her head slightly.
I don't want to lose another precious person again.
Then JD and Hibari appeared. Sasha had to admit, she was impressed by the man's brute strength. She smirked; how she wish she could move right now. How she wished she could join the fight, but alas, she could not. So she just sat there, and waited.
JD immediately felt the drain of that attack. He hadn't really expected to grab the tree- roots and all- and hoist it with the simplistic ease he portrayed. Mind you a good portion of it was still coiled in the ground. But it had been enough to knock Enki off of his feet, and that worked for JD. He would have liked to ask what the plan was but wanted to use his advantage of surprise to rush Enki and 1 -2 punch him. JD was a good close quarters combatant and the tree hurling trick was the only long range attack he had in his arsenal.
Enzo flew up into the air, getting a clear view on both Enki and JD. His flight was wonky, being as his arm was injured. As he expected, Enki caught sight of him, and prepared a blast that would surely kill him this time. If I take him out now... I won't have to use up any more energy finishing the rest.. they'll fall later. Enki thought.
Enzo saw he was charging another beam attack, so he formed a triangle with his hands. I hope this works a second time. Enki fired, the red flame soared up into the air, heading straight for Enzo, at the same time, he was switching in and out of his forms. If I don't time this right,I could be dead.
The beam hit Enzo, creating a large explosion in the air. though, Enzo was high enough in the air for the Shockwave to stop before it got to the others. Is it over? The corrupted Enki thought.

Knowing JD's rage, he'd kill Enki, and probably didn't know he was corrupted. At that realization, Enzo flew down, straight for Enki. The red haired boy put up his arms in defense, but what he was going to do wasn't attacking. Enzo flew down to him, and landed infront of him. Enki peeked around his own arms to see that Enzo had not hit him yet. "Enki, i'm here for you." He said. "What? Why aren't you hitting me?" Enki was confused. What was he getting at? Once he had lowered his armed, Enzo tapped him on a pressure point on his neck, paralyzing him. Enki fell over, and passed out.
Enzo..
There was silence after Enki had fallen to the ground. "Is it done?" She asked, to no one in particular. Maya looked around at her comrades, feeling a tinge of uselessness, as Silver had. Letting out a sigh, Maya let herself collapse to the ground beside Silver. "I think we did okay. We're all okay." She smiled faintly at Silver before shifting away so that her face was no longer visible. At least she'll be okay. No need for me, though. What did I do? Nothing. No one here would want to save me, anyways. She took one last longing look at Enzo and the fallen Enki, finally just glad that it was over. Her eyelids slowly closed.
Eyes blinking open, Eos' body trembled as she pushed herself up off the ground. She must have passed out, but upon that realization she put herself in a panic, wondering if the fight was still going on.
Her eyes darted around, but it seemed as though it was over - and everyone was... alive. Even Enki. But the battle had somehow come to an end. But it looked as though everyone was near or past their point of exhaustion. Eos realized she needed to check in with everyone, and tend to the wounded.
The first person who caught his attention was Volitaire, who wasn't too far from where she was. He was back to his normal self, but he looked sickly - near death, even. "Voli-! Hold in there..." She noted that the others would need aid too, but with the amount of blood he had begun to cough up - she felt he needed immediate care.
JD wanted to wail further on Enki, end him, and save them from all the future harm that would ensue. Yet no sooner had he managed to hit the boy once while he had been distracted did he find Enzo’s form before him- barring him from attempting to end the other boy. “What the bloody hell? Why don’t we end him- stop the inevitable suffering that would happen?” Rage still filled his lungs as he spoke. Unfortunately anger was the lynchpin to his powers, and inevitably he had to turn it off before they dissipated. It was a fragile system but it kept him in the game longer than most.
He took a few steps away from Enzo- as his hands shook and he considered taking the boy on. Those hands of his went to his face and he rubbed it caustically before take a few tight breaths. Inevitably he had to turn on his heels entirely and land a solid punch on the uprooted tree. The power behind his hit was enough to nearly cleave it in two but it was also enough to expend most of his rage and power. Inevitably the metal armor-like coating dissipated from his form and he slumped against the log. JD still had nothing to say to Enzo, because he honestly still didn’t know why the boy would do it. “Bloody,” he grumbled before turning away and looking for Eos.
I didn't think that would work. Enzo thought. He looked over to JD, and gave him a worrying look, before picking up Enki and taking him back to the others. Once he got there, he was reminded of everyone's injuries. He set Enki down. "There is still corruption in him. I believe you can cure him of it, Eos." He said.
With an expression of worry, she pushed the hair back out of his face - staring at Volitaire while listening to Enzo. "Wait... corruption? What do you mean?" She never really new the extent of his power, aside from what he told her, and it was becoming clear that wasn't the whole story. "Is that what..."
Her mind thought back to the monster Volitaire had made himself to be, "... what he had become, earlier?" She wasn't sure what to do, but felt that if it was true she could help - she would try in any way possible to aid him.
A cracking sound hit her ears, causing her attention to go toward JD. She didn't know he was here, he must have showed up while she was passed out. As he approached her, she could tell he was worked up. And knew it was very hard for him to come out of it, "JD, come here..." She put her arm out, and spoke with a voice that sounded much like their mother's.
Honestly he didn’t want to talk about it. JD didn’t want to talk about anything, because he was assured as soon as he opened in his mouth out of it would spew the worst sort of cancerous tripe you could imagine. So instead he just grumbled under his breath and approached Eos.
JD wanted to turn away and leave- period. Unfortunately his sister was giving him the: ‘come hither or I become your worst nightmare’ voice, and so he had no other choice.
“Look before you blokes get any ideas- Eos is not a miracle worker. She can’t cure everything- if that was the case then~” at that moment JD hushed and let out a long sigh to conceal his thoughts any further. He leaned in to help his sister and attempted to plaster his snarky grin back on his face, but it ended up an odd malformation of grumpy and insincere. "Fine fine."
Eos reached up and put a hand on her brothers shoulder, pulling him down so she could place a kiss against his heated cheek she closed her eyes. JD was someone she cared deeply for, and because of the way his body and mind worked - she had learned to use her powers to relax him. Surely their were other ways, but none were as fast acting as using her numbing kiss.
Pulling away she looked at him with concerned eyes, "You aren't hurt, right?" She hadn't seen the last half of battle so she was unsure of any damage he might have taken, even though he was such a solid fighter that he absorbed most of it without issues. He also knew her far better than anyone else, and knew her limits. But perhaps the ring could in fact help her aid Volitaire.
Volitaire started to come to. His vision a bit foggy, and his body was weak. Using so much of power devastated him and left him sick. He saw Eos attempting to heal everyone and JD looking angry, which was new. His eyes were half open but heavy. He coughed and wheezed, and the same red gas as his virus blew out as he coughed. Even has he breathed. This wasn't good, he was terribly afflicted from reaching a new stage in his virus. He looked at his hands and there were black veins, he quietly panicked and tried to hide it. He wanted to help everyone with their wounds, but his blood magic wouldn't be best right now..
Silver had finally managed to sit up, only to see her friends and how hurt they were. She looked at herself and sighed. How pathetic... Looking back at Maya, who seemed distressed, she smiled and put her hand on the girls shoulder. "You did good."
Silver then put both her hands on the ground and tried to stand up. She barely got up a bit before her legs started wobbling and she fell to her knees. Taking a deep breath, she tried again, but fell once more.
Oh I give up.
She let her head fall to her hands and she plopped over back on the ground again, still exhausted. She felt like she was a toddler throwing a tantrum over something she couldn't really control at this point, but whatever. That was just the way it was.
Meanwhile, Sasha had managed to gain use of her limbs again, though they were a little shaky. Looking around, she saw nothing but wounded people, hurt by the battle. She gritted her teeth; how she wished to have helped fight with the others, but her fatal weakness destroyed that chance. She would have to train harder later.
Sasha also noted that many people where being pushed onto Eos for healing. As the idiot blonde man said, Eos was not a miracle worker. Sasha snorted a bit; pulling out the healing water she had in a chain around her neck, " Oi, who's just got cuts, scrapes, or bruises? Get over here."
While Sasha couldn't do extensive healing magic like Eos could, she was still able to mend that much. Glancing over to Eos, she gave a friendly smirk, " You're not the only one who can heal."
She then continued, now a bit embarrassed by her sudden display of kindness, " I-it's not like I'm worried for you guys or anything, I just...uh...Don't like blood. Yeah. "
Enzo finally collapsed onto his knees, a wave of relief washed over him, and his flames disappeared. His upgraded gloves retracted back to simple rings. He wanted to smile at everyone, and thank them for their hard work, but all he could do at the moment was catch his breath, that fight too alot out of him.
He looked over to Enki, who was still knocked out. "Enki.. I'm sorry..." He said under his breath. "I promised to look after you, didn't I?"
He felt defeated. He would never have wanted a friend as close as what Enki described, leave him. He kept his gaze to the ground, his hair covering what could have been tears.
Sasha turned, and saw Enzo, and an unfamiliar feeling washed over her body. Was it...concern? The boy did look very worn out and sad, after all. Sasha shook her head; it was probably just dizzyness or something from the battle.
She walked over to him, and heard his words, saw his defeated expression. Sasha sighed, " What'm I going to do with you?"
She slowly reached down and bonked Enzo lightly on the head, " Stop being so sad all the time, Enzo. What matters is that you tried, and that you both came out of this alive. Don't dwell on what you could have done, think about what you should do, and everything will be fine," she muttered, " Got it?" Sasha ruffled his hair a little, " Just stay positive."
Sasha wasn't very good at giving inspirational speeches or pep talks, and she felt kinda awkward about this.
He slowly made his way over to everyone, but knelt next to JD, seeing him all worked up made him want to calm him down. "Relax.." He sounded tired and weak. "Everyone is hurt here, but I can use some of my own magic to heal others. Just like I did with Eos when she scraped her ankles. But I don't think I can heal really bad wounds like Enzo's arm. This is a tough situation and it won't pay to be so angry." He made a small smile with his blood covered mouth and made his way over to Enzo, he lost balance every now and again but fought it as he went. When he tried to kneel next to him he nearly fell over. He patted his shoulder. "Don't do that again..." He throat sounded like he needed to clear it, but as he finished talking he had a sudden cough and turned away.

Enzo put up a pathetic smile at Sasha and Volitaire. All I need is the support of my friends... He stood up, and turned to everyone else. "Let's get everyone back to the Inn." He said.
Eventually, everyone made it back to the Inn, those who were unconscious were laid to rest in their rooms. Enki was put in an extra room to rest, while some doctors tended to him. Around this time, it was mid-day.
Enzo opened the door to his room, only to see Kenji there, awake. "Kenji? W-were you sleeping this entire time?"
"No." "What were you doing?! We needed your help!" Kenji smirked. "I'm your bodyguard, sure, but I'll only help when you're in danger." Enzo sighed, and adjusted his arm, which was in a makeshift cast. "We were all in danger.." "False. You all have amazing abilities, you just don't know it yet." Kenji stood up, and walked past Enzo to the door.
"Don't let it get to your head, yeah?" He said before walking out, and closing the door behind him.
Volitaire was laying in his bed breathing heavily, with a little wheezing. He exhaled the red gas which made it hard to breathe altogether. He looked up and felt defeated. He could never use all of his skill because of this virus, it was beginning to tear him apart. From nowhere a rift opened and Montesque walked through, he looked disappointed under his hood. He sat at a chair by his bed and sighed. "Here to scold me.." He said with a low tone. "No. I saw the whole thing. I figured you were smart enough not to let the virus get to you...and now look what it has done." Volitaire hid under his hair. "I was an emotional wreck...you know I'm weakest when that way, and don't remind me what happened. I'm suffering it as we speak." "You'll need time to rest before we depart. A lot of time." Volitaire shook his head. "I'll be fine.." Montesque shook his head. "You're dying, do you not realize that? You're body is slowly beginning to fail on you, and without help you're done." "Then what can help?" "Let your body adjust...you may be dying but your body is putting up a fight, so is your manna. It's neglecting the virus' influence as you relax. You'll need things that help enhances manna as we-" "You're telling me to take types of steroids?" "Not exactly. I mean something to help you gain it back quicker. But it won't be found here, I'll also need time to prepare it. After that you can not use your magic for a while." Volitaire sunk his head in his pillow, feeling useless. "Fine.."
Silver was feeling much better after sleeping for a while and decided to roam the inn, looking for something to do. She hated staying still for too long; she got bored too easy and she could be doing other things anyways. After a few minutes of searching, she stumbled upon what she thought was Voltaire's room. She remembered how he got during the fight and frowned, deciding to go in and see how he was doing. She knocked lightly on the door before entering, gasping lightly when she saw two people in his room instead of one.
Wait, is that..?
"What are you doing here?" she asked with a disgusted face.
Volitaire was already asleep. He suffered a great deal of fatigue after the battle and managed to pass out a second time. Montesque looked towards Silver with a strait face. "Attempting to help your friend. He's in really bad shape as you can imagine. It's probably best for you not to visit him now...but what's your quarrel with me? You want me gone, dear?" He relaxed more into his chair, and put his eyes back on Volitaire.
Silver crossed her arms as she glared at him. "Why would I want you around in the first place? And don't call me dear." She paused for a moment, looking back to Voltaire. "..How are you helping him?"
She didn't trust Montesque at all, and she didn't want to just leave Voltaire with him. Especially not since Voltaire was in such horrible shape.
She didn't have much to do after they had returned to the Inn. Sasha's first thought was to visit Enzo and see if he was okay, but she quickly denied herself that right. After all, she wasn't supposed to get friendly with people. It wasn't...part of her. Sasha didn't want to relive the feeling of losing an important person again.
Instead she focused on herself. Sasha was weak, and she knew it. Her most prominent weakness was that she couldn't use too much of her power. If she did, she wouldn't be able to move, like what happened before.
What could I do to get better...? The question bounced around in her head.
"By increasing his immunity. You see, when confronted with a magical anomaly the part of the body that takes charge of your manna starts to fight it back. Much like your own immune system. It happens with possessions, magic that conjures disease, and things of the like. In Volitaire's case, that's his Virus. His manna can't fight all of it back, for it's too strong now. But if I were to give him something that helps his manna gain, it can repel the affliction that he's suffering now. But it will take time to finish and he'll need to remain in bed. Or at least resting." He got up, and looked through the door. "Where is the one called Kenji?"
"How should I know? It's not like I keep track of him or anything." Silver sat down next to the door on the floor, she was still a quite tired even though she had rested so much and she felt she was going to be here for a while.
"Why don't you go find him?" she asked with an innocent smile.
Eos was in the kitchen of the Inn. Earlier that day, she had expressed her concern about he friends health to the owner of the Inn and he provided her with a list of ingredients. He told her that if she were to blend everything on the list and blessed it with some of her healing magic - it would be a helpful aid for her friends.
Everything she had to find could be found in the forest beside the Inn or already stored in the kitchen. Setting up a tray with several porcelain cups she hummed along as she blended the magical herbs and boiled them with some spring water. For safe keeping she stored some of the herbs in her bag, just in case she wanted to make this recipe when they got back home.
Home... She thought back on whether or not they would get out of The Gaze anytime soon. Her daydreaming left her feeling melancholy, but the sound of a whistling kettle shook her out of her daze. "Oh!" Eos grabbed the kettle and poured the water into every cup. The only missing ingredient was her magic. Twirling about her hand above the cups, she generated that heavenly golden glow once again and dispersed it within every cup, making the liquid inside glow faintly as well. "Perfect."
Picking up the tray, she made her way out of the kitchen. Her eyes almost instantly finding Sasha who looked to be struggling with her thoughts. "Hey, I made you something..." She set the tray down on the table and smiled at the girl, "The Innkeeper gave me a special Gaze recipe that'll help everyone recuperate."
The glowing liquid was still hot, and had a taste much like chamomile tea - but a bit sweeter. The steam began to fill up their noses, the liquid smelling of ripe berries.
He looked back at Volitaire and saw he was asleep. But still having a bit of trouble breathing."I just didn't want to alert anyone with my presence is all. Well, rest easy Silver." He walked passed her and out the door. He walked out in the halls looking for Kenji, trying not to alert attention from the others.
Enzo went back to looking at the bookshelf in his room. He knew everyone would be resting, and he was just mainly waiting for Enki to awake. He skimmed through the books, until he came across a title that caught his eye. The Lady and The Book. He decided to give it a peek. He took the book and placed it on his table to read after he had made himself more comfortable.
Kenji, who was walking down the hallway from Enzo's room, stopped infront of Monte. "You..." He said with a tone that suggested he thought he would come. "What's your reason for being here?"
Sasha looked up to find Eos, who had a warm smile on her face. She sighed, taking the cup and sipping from it. Instantly, her insides felt filled with something warm, enveloping her and calming her. Sasha felt more relaxed now, and smiled at Eos, " Thanks. That really helped."
She was now filled with a motivation she didn't have before; a motivation to get better, and to protect...her newly found friends.
The blonde practically held her breath as Sasha began to sip from her cup. Worried that she may have messed up the recipe, but from the looks of it - it was a success. A wide smile spread across her face as she held out another cup to her. "I was going to bring these around, but would you mind bringing this to Enzo? That is... if you don't mind." In all honesty, Eos could have done it herself, but she had ulterior motives for having Sasha bring it to him.
He grinned when he spotted Kenji. "I figure I speak to you, Kenji. There is something I wish to discuss. If you don't mind. But i would like to not be caught by the children..one already did." He peered down the hallway, making sure no one would show up.
