Tink reached up in an attempt to help Kiylo tighten her goggles a bit so they wouldn't slip. "Just pull the straps here..."
"This all seems rather too convenient. Keys on corpses, a nice map with the traps labeled. It's like they want us to get to the top." Tink frowned, looking around, then glancing to the map again. "I do not relish the thought of what is waiting for us."
-
Kiylo let Tink fix her goggles, the leather straps tightening around her head comfortably. She kept an eye on the corpse, a bit frightened by it. Watching Kotori take the key made her want to be sick to her stomach. Taking things from the dead was very disrespectful to her and it made her upset. But there was no inner rage, no bile racing up her throat, or the will to just turn around. She knew she had to continue through the tower. But Tink's comment didn't help the tension that was growing in her shoulders.
-
"Well, I do not think it will be easy when we get there but, it will be worth it once we get Hegoror. Now come across, I will go up ahead and check to make sure that there are no guards," he said as he started up the stairs to the third floor. He got to the top and saw no guards but, what looked like a lot of different switches. Some were turnable, some were like on and off, some were push and pull. "Oh shit. We have to solve a puzzle. It is a switch puzzle and there are about thirty different switches. God, I hate this tower. Tink, you see anything on the map that shows how to solve it?" he asked.
-
Tink looked at the map, tapping his lips for a moment as he muttered to himself. "Hmm..Half and half began...over, under, through and back again."
He looked back to the switches, examining them for another moment. Then, he reached out and started turning and flipping the knobs. After about two minutes, he looked at them again. With a smack to his forehead, he laughed. Reaching out, he pulled one more switch and it was done.
"That should be it." He looked to Kotori and Kiylo, "Think that is correct?"
-
"Yes, because the door is now open!" he said as he opened the door. They climbed up the the stairs to the fourth floor where they saw about five guards. "Get down!" he quietly told the two. "Okay, I have a plan. Kiylo, you use your ball gun thing to get one of them and Tink you paralyze the other four, at the same time, so Kiylo has time to get them with her gun thing," he said. He thought this made since, at least it wasn't just rush in and fight.
-
Kiylo bit down so hard on her lower lip that she drew blood. She was now in a situation where she would have to hurt someone, and she absolutely didn't want to be there. She whimpered and pulled the weapon off of her bag, her hands shaking wildly.
She took aim, and for a girl with trembling hands, she did okay. The little glass balls exploded at the feet of her target and she heard them cry out in agony. They were just as much human as she was and she had hurt them. She wanted to barf, to just curl up into a ball away from the rest of the world and disappear. She didn't feel worthy enough to be human.
"I-... I can't do this..." she said quietly.
-
As he bled out the other guards went to attack the others. "Come on men!" one of them said.
"Shit!" Kotori said, "Then, I have to get them," In a majestic motion he jumped up from the stairs and drew his sword. He stabbed the guy closest to the stairs in the stomache; took his weapon threw it at the second guy which stuck him to the wall; ran into the third guy, using the first as a shield, and had the first and third guy on his blade; pulled his sword out of the two dead bodies just barely fast enough to block the fourth guy kick him in the knee and then, slice his head off. What seemed like half an hour to him was only two minutes. He was panting at the feat he just done. He saw the key to the fifth floor on the guy Kiylo shot and took it off him and stabbed him in the heart to end his pain. "Now.... We..... Can..... Go.... To... The.... Top...." he said trying to catch his breath. He unlocked the door and went up the stairs. Finally at the top most floor, There was a huge cell containing Hegoror. "Are you guys ready?" he whispered trying not to raise suspicion. (OOC BOSS BATTLE WHEN EVERYONE IS READY!)
-
Tears flooded Kiylo's vision as she shook her head violently. She choked back horrible screams that wanted to rise from her throat. She didn't want to do this- she just couldn't harm anyone else. She gingerly placed the weapon on the ground and shook her head even more.
Taking a few careful steps backwards, she held her face in her hands, tears going through the gaps between her fingers.
"No... No... I ca-can't..." she sobbed. She felt her back press against the wall and she slid down helplessly, not having any energy to go on.
-
"Use the non-lethal balls. That is why I gave them to you. Stunners, freezers and corrosives. Don't kill if you are uncomfortable with it. I am not, that is why I have stun weapons and such." He held out his stun weapon and fired, the guards stunned for a couple of minutes. He looked green and sick as Kitori killed them. He took a step back, closer to Kiylo.
"You can just..." he paused, looking away from the violence, "just disable them." Tink cleared his throat, taking a deep breath. He looked completely sick by the whole thing, blood everywhere from the severed head, gutted guard and other wise dismembered limbs.
"Wait, he is in a cell? Why not just use the hypnoball on him while he is stuck in there?" He looked at Kiylo, "If he gets out, you freeze his feet. Remember, we don't want to kill him, apparently."
Why we aren't killinng the cannibalistic monster and everything else I don't know, but whatever. he though dubiously.
-
But I can't see the colors of the balls I am picking up! I can't remember what colors are for what! I am a girl who can't bring herself to kill and shouldn't of had been given a weapon in the first place. she thought furiously was tears came streaming out of her eyes.
I can't hurt people... I can only heal them. she closed her eyes and curled up against the wall, trying to block out all that was going around her. A voice tried to speak to her, trying to get her attention. She listened, but she felt as if she was out of her own head, as if her whole body was vacant.
She looked up at Tink with wide, frightened eyes, still very much freaked out. "O...okay..." she whispered, feeling as if she were being controlled. She reached out into the area where she had put down the weapon and wrapped her fingers around it before pulling into her lap.
She took a glass ball, one for freezing and loaded it into the firing mechanism, and aimed it at the cage. She left like she was not herself, that someone else had taken control of her body.
-
"I wish I could, but while you guys are down there arguing with each other, I am kinda busy fighting off the whole towns worth of guards." Kotori said.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWR" Hegoror said. He broke through the chains grabbed Kotori and threw him to the ceiling where there were chains that immediately held him in place there.
"OH SHIT HEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP PPPPPP!" Kotori said. He tried to wigle free but, it was no use the chains were too tight. He couldn't give them the orb, due to it being in his back pocket.
-
Seeing Hegoror grab Kitori (as Kitori got a wee bit too close), Tink flipped on Kiylo's unseeing belt, pressing the button before she could argue. "Stay here and keep out of sight. Shoot the blue for freezing or the red for sleeping. You can do it, I believe in you. You will find your courage to keep us safe." With that, he turned and went into the fray.
Tink pointed his Stun Rod at Hegoror and pressed the button, an arc of electricity shooting from it. He kept out of arm's reach of the monster (he could hardly be called a man, men don't eat people). He flicked another button on the rod and a bright, blinding light emerged from the rod- one that Kitori and Kiylo are now immune to thanks to the goggles Tink provided to them.
Hoping this would buy him some time, Tink pulled out his watch, looking for something to free Kitori from the tangle of chains on the ceiling. Finally finding an high powered Electro-Magnet, he attempted to turn it on and untangle the mass of chains by forcing them to reach for the magnet and straighten out.
-
Kiylo did nothing to stop Tink as he activated her belt. She listened to his pep talk before, nodded slowly. Her eyes were narrowed, and a thin line replaced the calm smile that once tinted her lips. She was not herself right now, but in survival mode.
She did as told loading up blue and red glass balls and sending them flying at Hegoror. Watching them break, her goggles had begun to fog up. She disregarded it as a blinding light made the room bright for only just a moment. Her eyes were uneffected, so she took a good look around the room.
Kotori was hanging from the ceiling by chains and Tink was helping him down, the chains being pulled by the magnet. She observed this with very little concern as she stayed where she was at, still obeying Tink's orders.
-
The stun of the rod did nothing but, the light blinded him,so he curled up into a ball and started rolling in every direction till he could see. He missed Tink all the time and never made it over to where Kiylo was.
Fail, the chains did not move much. It was not a tangled mess but, an imprisonment. But, the chains loosened so Kotori was able to get his hands free and grab the hypno-orb. He waited for the perfect chance to slip his legs out and hypnotize Hegoror. He found a blue ball in his pocket that went to Kiylos gun thing and so when he knew that if he could freeze Hegoror in just the right spot, he would throw it. And it wasn't long before he found the chance, because, after he was able to see the rolling made him dizzy and so Kotori threw the ball at his chest, so he could not break through. So, he slipped his legs out quickly and went to his face and showed him the orb.
Hegoror tried to resist looking at the orb but, he couldn't and soon he was hypnotized and was apart of the team. "Wha- where am I how did I get here?" the giant crab said, "Last thing I remember was Devilculitus making me one of his respected guards. Who are you three and why am I frozen? I am so cold,"
"It is okay," Kotori said, "We are saving you and we want you to join our team. We are going to end deviculituses reign forever. For, if you do not know, he has basically ruined most everyones lives,"
"Oh, well I guess I can join. I mean it isn't like I have a home to go to. But, can you unfreeze me?" he asked.
-
Tink did not like the idea of being on a team with a man who was a monster. Or at least did monstrous things. Truly monstrous. He could unfreeze the man, but, he decided that he deserved to suffer for a while for what he had done. He had some serious atoning to do.
"Hmm." He looked at the ice and shrugged. "Maybe I have something. But, I must admit, I don't rightly trust you much yet. How can we know you're not bluffing? We could free you and you may turn around and eat us. I am quite adverse to the idea of being eaten. I can think of numerous better ways to finish off my day." Of course, Kitori had control of him with the orb...or should anyway. Hopefully Kitori had the strength of mind to keep him hypnotized and give decent orders. It was just a mesmerism aid after all.
-
Kiylo stepped up to where Tink stood and still aimed the weapon at Hegoror, waiting for the order to shoot. With one hand, she undid the setting Tink had set on her belt and began to fade back into where they were. She looked over at the ingenious young man beside her and then back at the monstrosity before them.
"Will I need to hit him again...?" she asked quietly, her voice barely a whisper. She sounded almost monotonous, like a robot within human skin. She heard herself sigh quietly, but she was unsure as to why she did so. What was wrong with her?
There was a strange feeling of life tugging at the back of her mind, and suddenly it was as if she were fighting back for her mind. Survival had its share of time today, and now, it was just enough. She wanted control of her body again, to be able to heal whomever she wanted and think her own thoughts. To not have to harm others.
It felt like a headache coming on, but it was only a dull feeling, as if someone was poking the back of her neck for a long time. The pain slowly emerged, but it never got too bad. She knew she still had to hold the weapon up and wait for orders, so she couldn't let herself freak out as she had done only so long ago. She put a stop to the fight for now, but it would only continue later.
-
"You realize that the ice has melted enough I could just break free? But, what good would that do to your trust? I hate the things I have done as well, I did not want to do the things I did, I was controlled by a weird machine that could do multiple things. I never got a good look at it but, it was scary and was evil. I will not and will never try to hurt you guys. Where my people came from we take care of the people who help us. We were a very unliked race for the same reason that you do not like me. But, it is a long and painful story and I do not feel like saying it. Will you just set me free?" The crab man said.
-
"I don't like you because you did monstrous things to my friends and neighbors. That is not something easily forgotten or forgiven no matter who tried to control you. I can't trust you now and probably won't for some time. Trust is earned, not given." Tink shrugged, giving a wave of his hand. "Free yourself. You won't get help from me until you earn it."
He turned to Kiylo, looking at her. He reached out to put a hand on the weapon and lower it. "You can put it down now. I will make something else for you if this one bothers you. This was made not to harm anything, just to stop them from attacking and hurting others. That is why it has all the non-lethal projectiles. But, we can work together to make something better for you, something you feel comfortable with." He focused on Kiylo, paying no attention to Hegoror. He was done with the crab-man. He didn't agree with Kitori's plan to begin with and he didn't agree now. But he helped pull it off and that was enough.
At least Hegoror was going to stay here to protect the town and not come with them- unless Kitori changed his mind again. Having Hegoror stay here to protect the town was a reasonable (though not fair by any means) punishment for him...but not one he really trusted the crab-man to pull off. If Devilculitus captured him once, he could do it again. If Hegoror was even telling the truth.
-
"I can't believe you guys. Here, I'LL get you out," he said. He hit the ice with all his strength and it shattered into a million pieces. "Now, listen up, we are a team and he is going to be travelling with us, so we need to learn to trust each other. You may not have to give him you respect but, I do not want you to bad mouth him. Because, if we start making fun of each other, then anger builds up inside us. Then, we start stabbing each other in the back and then, we turn from being a team, to being just a mess. Now, I need to see something," he looked around the room and saw a machine, he went over to it and found a maintenance door, he opened it and just as he thought, it was being powered by a gem. He had heard rumors of this tower containing this gem but, he only thought it be a rumor. He pulled it out of there and it looked like this.

Kiylo lowered her gaze to the ground as she weapon fell from her hands. She closed her eyes and let her shoulders drop from their tensions. She was back in control of herself, but what she was supposed to do was lost to her.
Her gaze met Tink's, but who the young man was escaped her mind. Everything around her lost its importance and she felt as if she was washed away of all her emotions.
Who am I? she thought. A killer?
-
"I can't believe they used this to power this machine. This if you do not know is the Agnarokon Moonstone. It is an ancient stone passed down from the previous kings of Agnarokon. It is said that it had enough power to read the minds of others. I wonder if it works," He said as he pointed it at Tink and Hegoror but, not Kiylo. He learned from his mother never try to read a woman's mind. 'It is a fragile thing' as she would say.
-
Kiylo winced when he held the stone up. She wanted no part in what he was talking about and just wanted to find a place where she could be in peace. With a soft sigh, she looked up at Kotori with a pitiful gaze. She was tired and needed some kind of reprieve from her mistakes on the human race.
"Can we go home?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper. "Whatever home is equivalent to..."
-
"This is amazing it works. I could hear you guys. Anyway we need to try to train the town, otherwise they will defenseless against any more guards coming," he said. He explained to them that he wanted the town to fend for itself not them fend for it, it wasn't going to be some good professional fighting techniques, just some to keep the guards away. He heard kiylos question and said, "Yes, Those who do not want to go home while I teach the town to protect the town say 'aye' and if you say aye go to my house, my mom will probably be home trying to cook something thinking that this was it,"
-
Tink was stunned. Not by the fact that Kotori broke the ice or freed Hegoror. But that he changed his mind again. Or maybe he just lied. So, it was either he couldn't remember anything for more than a couple of hours, he was a liar, or he was completely fickle in his decision making. None of these things were particularly pleasing at the moment.
He took a moment to get his thoughts together and calm himself from the utter annoyance he felt. "You said he was going to stay here and protect the town." Tink frowned. "Now we have to worry about more guards coming and just killing everyone and that is just what we were trying to avoid." He looked over to Kiylo and shrugged almost apologetically. "Also, I was not thinking this was a load of crap, I was thinking you are either a liar, a fickle heart or just incapable of holding a thought for more than an hour. Also, I think it is very rude of you to try to read my thoughts. I shall think in math from now on, just to perplex you."
He took a deep breath before speaking, getting his thoughts in order before he launched into his true feelings on the matter. "Now, let us get this straight here, I am not going to lie about my feelings. I am not bad mouthing Hegoror nor am I making fun of him. I am stating a fact about my feelings on the matter with respect to the things he did. We all know what you did Hegoror and I will not beat around the bush and shrug it off. You have a lot to make up for and I'm certain if you have a shred of decency or remorse, you realize that."
Tink looked pointedly from Kotori to Hegoror. "I will not lie about how I feel or what I think. So long as I am honest about it, you will always know what you can expect from me. I will tell you what I feel to your face and I will not talk about you behind your back. If I am going to stab you, you will be looking at me, armed and attack me first- and likely I will simply incapacitate you rather than cause harm. I find violence to be loathsome." Tinklington pulled his goggled up for a moment, letting them snap from his eyes and rest upon his brow. "I see no reason to call you names or tease you- only children do that. Adults who want to earn each other's respect honestly tell each other what they think and what they feel in a calm and rational way. I have a very deep sense of chivalry, honor and justice. Because of this, I am willing to give you a chance, but I was up front with you about my current feelings and what you must overcome."
He looks to Kitori and Kiylo, "The same applies to both of you as well. When you do something that upsets me, I will tell you. I expect the same from the both of you. For example, right now, one of you should probably tell me I am rambling and now would be an excellent time to shut my trap so you can get a word in edgewise."
"I am going home, you guys can do whatever you want. I will not be joining you. I will not follow a changeable leader who has terrible ideas. Someone has to stay and protect the town from another Hegoror when he or she shows yup. You will not teach people to defend a town in a day. They would have done it long ago if they were going to do it at all. You said so yourself. And I will not chance my family and my friends to your slip shod plan."
He turned to Kiylo, "Miss Kiylo, I would like to invite you to dinner at my house. My father and brothers would be delighted to have a lovely woman such as yourself to supper."
-
He listened to the man ramble on forever and ever. When he was done, he said nothing to him. He whispered to Hegoror. After about a minute they stopped.
Hegoror went over to Tink and just punched him. So hard in fact he went through the wall and fell five stories. "Oh god he never shuts the hell up, always rambling on about this and that and 'I don't like this' all a bunch of horseshit of you asked me. But, then again I couldn't think you Kotori would think up a plan like that," The crab monster said.
"Agreed," he said. He turned and looked at Kiylo who was stunned at what just happened. His eyes turned to a pitch black color and he grabbed her and pushed her up to the wall as he said, "Now listen here Kiylo, I am not playing around. If anyone ever questions my judgement again," he paused for emphasis, "They will end up like that man right there. Go heal his ass so I can kill him myself. Do it now or your ass is literally mine!" He said. He remembered she had her belt and weapon on her so he grabbed them and said, "I'll be taking these! No unwanted surprises from you trying to escape!" He got on top of Hegoror and they just jumped down and went towards the entrance of the building, to make absolutely sure that she couldn't escape unless if a miracle happened. "If she tries to escape," Kotori said to Hegoror, "Grab her. It would such a pain to lose a pretty little thing like her, she is kinda cute you know,"
-
For Tinklington, his world was pain. He was fairly certain his back was broken, both legs, possibly an arm as well, he didn't want to know how many fractures his skull had. He was lucky he wasn't dead. He should have died on ipact, he knew that much. A tree had slightly broken his fall...unfortunately; one of the branches had also punctured his torso- he couldn't tell where at the moment. He couldn't feel anything but blinding pain everywhere.
Unable to move, to speak or to even cry at the moment. He retreated into his mind. Into math and physics.
"Five stories is about 19 meters tall. Gravity is 9.8 m/s2. My mass is about 73 kilograms. I was punched hard enough to go through a wall... I was traveling at about 19 m/s when I hit the ground...maybe a little less thanks to the tree, air resistance, but maybe a little more due to the force of the hit. Let's just even that out. The impact force of the hit... 1/2 * m * v2= oh...oh...very bad. Very bad. 135...err..135,926 Newtons...give or take a bit for the reductions. Ye flippin' gods...I should be dead. Very likely I am dying." he thought, the numbers twisting and turning in his head.
And the day had started off so well. He just wanted to be free. He had hugged Kotori. He had been happy with the idea of freeing the town.
Tink could feel each breath as it wheezed out of him. He could taste the blood in his mouth, too much blood. He was choking on it. To make matters worse, he couldn't turn his head. If he didn't die from his wounds now, he would likely drown in his own blood very soon.
Kitori was a murderer. Tink found himself wishing he could cry, wishing he could do anything. Feel anything aside from pain. He felt sorry for Kiylo, he hoped she would run, run away before they killed her too.
He wished for death. He wished for his mother.
Then, thankfully, his world went black as unconsciousness took him.
-
"Heeeheee haaaahahahahaah hahaahhaaaa!" a mysterious voice chuckled loudly as it echoed through the town. "You idiots think you can beat the great master deviculitus? THINK AGAIN! He has armies that will destory you. You can barely resist my puppetry let alone some of the things he can do. Such a bad thing that the smart one had to die. I have a challenge for anyone of the town who thinks they can beat me and my puppets! If you can beat us for every person that wins they get one wish. We will be at the outskirts of town! HAAHHHAHAHAHAAH HAHAHAAH HAHHHAAAAAAHAAAHAAHA HA HAAAAA!"
(Narration)Oh lord what is going to happen? Tink is close to dying and Kiylo is nowhere to be found. She needs to hurry and save Tink for only with him can she defeat the puppeteer.
-
With tired eyes, the worn out girl looked to Tink, listening to him, just barely absorbing what she was being told. The offer nearly flew over her head until suddenly, the young man who had invited her was sent into the air and had landed very violently. Kiylo felt a scream rise from her throat and heard it make itself known in her voice.
She started to run over to Tink, wanting to heal him, to bring him back, but something tugged at her waist and her shoulder, and suddenly, she was weaponless and unable to hide. When the two things were taken from her, she was sent to the floor because of all the force she had going forward.
She stumbled to get up, but she tripped once more and landed on her rear, her gaze going up to the young man she thought she knew and the demon she had thought they had brought into the light. Her face was twisted up in terror. Absolute terror.
She got up to her feet and bowed her head. She couldn't heal Tink- Kotori would only kill him again. And with her always being there... not able to run away, she'd be forced to do it again... and again...
I shouldn't. I mustn't. I will not. she thought bitterly. The guilt and terror was now lost in the whirlwind of anger that had overcome her mind. Her fists clenched and her jaw was unset.
The voice, the new voice was very unsettling. It was as if someone had cooled the room down and then ran their nails running down a chalkboard. Shivering and wincing, she looked up at the two. She had to heal the young man- the gentlemanly boy who had treated her better then anyone could. But she would need a plan to keep him alive.
Just about now, her slowly moving mind was now speeding faster then it ever did. She stormed over to the nearly dead boy and placed a hand over the gaping hole in his chest and sighing. She closed her eyes and bowed her head again.
A soft yellow light came from the ends of her fingertips, and her pale skin glowed as well. The healing light that she had came from her own blood, and it ran through her veins. It was a beautiful sight, but at one of the most undesirable times.
She placed her other hand on his forehead, hoping her idea would work. She doubted herself, but it was hope that might just- just maybe- work.
If you can hear me, this is Kiylo. I am sorry for intruding into your head, but this is for the best. Its a plan for what is to come in just a few moments. They want to kill you, and they'd kill us- thus destroying all of our chances of freedom. she sighed and winced. He was really broken, and it was draining her of any willpower she had left. I beg your forgiveness for doing this... For bringing you back to life. The dead should be left alone, but the world needs you...
She bit on her lip and used whatever willpower that was left and finished healing him. All that would be left would be some bruises and maybe a fracture or two that she missed. "Please... Please forgive me." she whispered, watching the light fade from her hands. Kiylo pulled her hands away from the young man and into her own lap.
-
"HEEHEHEE HEHEAHHEHEHAEHAAHAHEAEAHEHE! Oh good you healed the boy, now come or your friends Hegoror and Kotori will lose their lives and you know what I will also destroy the town while I am at it. You have one hour. After that every minute you are late another citizen of this town dies, starting with the members of Tinks family. I would start with yours Kiylo but, I know that would only help you. Now hurry up the clock is ticking away your time starts now," he said. as he said the time started, the bell tower struck 11:00 AM. "Hope to see you two there or else! HAHAEHEHAEHHAHAHAHEAEHAEHEHAEHAHEAHAHAHEHAEAHHEEA HEAHE HAHEH AHAHAHAH AHAHAHA EEHAHEHAHEEEEHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!"
-
It took Tink a long moment to swim back into consciousness. He thought he heard a voice, but couldn't be certain. Something about an apology. He let his eyes sliver open, the light bright and his vision blurry. "Am...am I dead?" he croaked. "Are you..an angel come to take me away?"
Then the pain came back. No, if he was dead he hoped he wouldn't hurt like this. His whole body felt like one giant bruise. He let his eyes slip back shut for a moment. "Uhhhg." He grunted, unable to say anything more articulate for the moment.
He though he heard laughter of another, sinister voice. But, not much was registering. His mind was scattered and his body was throbbing and itching from the recent healing. "Mrrgggllr," he muttered in acknowledgement of the voice.
He let his eye open again, squinting against whatever light there was. He tried to focus on the world around him and saw Kiylo by his side. "Oh...an angel has come to take me away." He lifted his less bruised arm and tried to grab her hand. "What happened? Did they really just try to kill me? They could have just told me to shut up if I was rambling on too long. Seems a bit extreme to punch me out of a tower."
