I gasped as the cold snow ran down my back and I struggled to get it out. I got it out and stuck my tongue out at him.
I contined to laugh, and I sat on my porch steps, trying to calm my laughter. This is the most fun ive had in a while. Let that tell you something.
I grinned at him. He had an airy laugh, with not much voice. I sat next to him and looked out at the snow. He has such a nice smile..
It started to ger kind of chilly, just out here in my normal clothes. After a few moments I gently touched her arm as I got up, and I waved her inside. We had a killer fireplace in here. I headed over to it and I started the fire, sitting in front of it rubbing my hands together. And right above the fireplace was the tv. So if she wanted we could watch something and warm up at the same time.
I sat next to him and wrapped my arms around myself. I glanced at his handsome face. "Are you mute medically, or by choice? " I asked.
I turned the tv on and I looked at her as she talked. I got up, and I got us a big blanket and I wrapped it around our shoulders. "Choice." I mouthed, handing her the remote, so she could choose what to watch.
I just put on a random channel. I looked up at him. "How long has it been since you've last spoken?" I asked.
I had to think for a moment. "Three years." I mouthed, looking back at her, then at the tv.
"Wow.." I said softly. Then I fell silent, watching the tv. That's a very long time without saying a single word..
After a long silence, I looked over at her. "Do you know sign language?" I mouthed. It could be easier to talk to her.
I shook my head. "No.."
I shrugged. We seemed to be just fine. "Tell me about yourself." I mouthed, looking at her. She just seemed so interesting.

I shrugged. "There's not much to say really. I'm from England. Moved to America two years ago.."
England? I love England, my favorite country. I looked at her with wide eyes. "Thats so cool." I mouthed. "Ive been to england Three times. I love it." I added
I smiled. "I do too. I conceal the accent though... It just adds more fuel to the fire, don't ask why."
I closed my mouth as soon as she said to not ask about it. "I love accents though." I mouthed, and I took my phone out. "I hope theres no school tomorrow. I hate it so much." I typed, and handed it to her
"Maybe I'll let you hear it someday." I said, taking the phone and looking down at it. "Me too. I need some sleep."
The next few days were very easygoing, her and I learned alot about eachother in the short time we have known eachother. But we were best friends, and we were both happy that it was winter break. Two weeks off. Hell yeah! Today I would tell her what happened with my parents, since she still was so curious about it. I sent her a quick text telling her to come over if she wanted. My grandma was at work.
Sure! I'll be there soon. I texted back. I changed clothes and drove to his house. I walked to the porch and rapped on the door.
I opened the door when she knocked, and I hugged her. I waved for her to come in.
I walked in and sat by the fire, warming myself up. "What's up?" I asked.
I sat by her, and shrugged. I pulled my phone out, and typed; I know youve been wondering about my parents, and why I dont talk. Well, .. ; I stopped typing to take a deep breath, tears started to fill my eyes. I continued ; Three years ago, our house had caught on fire, it had started in my parents room. And that day, before bed, I noticed their alarm was on. So I turned it off, cause it was a Saturday the next day. Anyway.. the fire started in their room, and I quickly ran in to see if thwy were okay.. I saw them there.. it started at 7:06.. if I would have left rhe alarm on, and they got up normally.. they would still be alive...; I handed her my phone, swallowing hard..
I read the long text, then I looked up, shocked. "Honey there was no way you would know.. " I whispered, scooting close to him. I hugged him tightly, running my fingers through his hair comfortably.
I kind of lost it. I pulled her close, and sobbed softly into her neck. Everytime I talk about it, this immense sadness always comes around me. I took a deep breath, and calmed down, wiping my eyes.
I rubbed his back soothingly, pulling away and looking into his eyes. "It's okay Kiam... It's okay..." I said softly, taking his hand. I had let my accent come out, and I missed it. It was actually very strong. "You are so brave.. You know that?"
I looked up at her, and I noded slowly. I wiped my eyes and sighed. "Sorry." I mouthed. I didnt really want her to see me break down. But she did. I liked her accent alot, and I was glad she let it come out.
"Don't be." I whispered. I felt like I could cry as well. I patted his knee. "Can I do anything to help?" I asked.
"Youre helping me now." I mouthed. Her just being here helped me alot. I leaned over and I kissed her cheek softly.
I blushed and smiled warmly at him. "Okay..." I hugged him once more. "I'm here for you, okay?"
((So what if like, he doesn't talk until way later, like after they get together. So it's kind of a cute silent love thing lol))
