Yeah, I will be really bummed if it dies before getting started. I don't mind if it goes slow, just so long as there's a somewhat steady pace.

You know, I had an idea that I should set a public schedule ahead of time for how long certain parts of the game would take. For example day 1 takes a week, day 2 takes a week, etc. And if need be the day/whatever can be extended another week or so. Do you think that would encourage people to post or just stress them out?

I don't know I'm kind of on the fence there. I think it would depend on the person - if they work well with deadlines... for hobbies and such. Um... I really don't know ^^;

Hmm, yeah, I'd want to get feedback from players...it wouldn't be so much of a deadline as a general guideline for how the timing should go. And if the day ends before that "deadline" then the game moves forward.

Nah, deadlines are bad. But it might not be a bad way to say this is how long it SHOULD take. If you miss x amount of RP 'days' we'll kill you in a horrible way?

Momentum is important in an RP. I've noticed that once momentum is lost it can take monumental effort to get everyone back on the same page.

If people would write small filler posts well ahead of time when they're in the mood to write they can just add a few things to flesh 'em out and post them later when they feel like shit. It's kinda like saving your nickels for a rainy day?

Hmm...well, yes, I definitely don't want to do deadlines as I said. Just a general guideline and if there's no reason to keep things stuck in a certain day then things should continue. Sort of as a "if nothing's happening, expect me to move to a new day at this point"?

Yeah...that is very true. And we are losing a bit of momentum. I am going to start seeking out new players to replace Jet Alone, that should help just replacing the one inactive player. But I think it would kill me a little to have to replace anyone else...

Not a bad idea then. So even if we have someone with an unanswered question directed at another character you can work your GM magic, move the clock forward and say 'poof! Your question was answered!'

Well whatever you decide to do, I'm for it. Though it would suck to have to replace anybody. I really hope it picks up.

How long are you giving people to read/respond in some manner to that PM before we have to send out job applications?

But yeah, that really is the downfall of almost every awesome game, inactivity. I used to refer to it as the Poof Virus. I used to make games on Gaia and someone would join, post once and vanish~ I just generally get sad when people poof. ;=;
