"To the park then?" He asked. 'She did walk there after all.'
"five..." He sighed here. "Forget it. We will just wander. Sound good?"
He took a right and started walking that way.
"I'm fine for talking about anything really."
Miguel wasn't sure about what to say. "Well, I'm here becau- ungh!" Miguel took one of his hands to his forehead and frowned. His head ached, there was a demon nearby. "No! Why now?" He thought. "You must leave, now." He didn't want Kirby to get hurt. "As I've hidden some of my power that demon may think that I'm a minor angel, an easy prey." As he thought that, a man in black approached them. "What do we have here?" Said the demon. "Two little servants of God. A human priest and a poor little angel." Miguel closed his eyes and sighed as the demon uncovered his true identity. "Leave now and I may reconsider the idea of killing you." Said Miguel, turning to face the demon. "No." The demon replied. "As you wish." After saying this, Miguel's wings appeared, extended on their full length. He took his sword from his back. The demon took his weapon too and the fight begun.
"Well then Ella, What's your story? What has happened with you?" He said as they walked through the neighbor hood.
Before Miguel could get a word through about his reason for being here, he winced in pain and threw a hand to his forehead, "Are you o-" Kirby was interrupted by the angel throwing out his arm, trying to get him to leave, "I-" A pale red light emanated from a older, twisted looking fellow dress in a drab dark suit who approached the two. "De-demon..." Kirby muttered taking a step back as the being condescended them, "Miguel..." He watched in astonishment as the pseudo-human sprung wings from his back and pulled out a sword. Despite the knowledge of being in good hands, Kirby reacted remembering the events of his past. He pulled from his bag a crucifix and holy water, immediately splashing it upon the demon before them. "The power of Christ compels you!" He shouted, "In Gods name, I banish you from our town! Begone!" It was a short lived act of bravado, if the demon did not retreat, Kirby most certainly would.
As he waited for Ella's answer, he felt an evil presence near where the park was. 'Please don't let anyone else die...'
"Ah. I see. Well, if that's all to it then...... What's your favorite color?"
He gestured to the grey clothes he was wearing. "Grey. It reminds me that every time of darkness can have a beaming light of hope somewhere."
He looked over to her after feeling a lulling feeling coming from Ella. "I can feel that you are tired. I can carry you if you wish."
"I also feel your sudden doubt. I apologize if I make you uncomfortable with my ability to feel other's emotions." Fallen spoke softly. 'I really hope I didn't just screw up..'
"I see. I'll try not to do it as much."
He looked around. "I'd say around north east of town, a closer to the city limits than my house."
Fallen stopped walking and facepalmed. "I'll just fly us to the park. It'll be easier that way, and it will take less time. Besides, You were just getting tired a moment ago. I can make it faster for you, so you can go straight to bed soon."
He sighed and pulled her into an embrace. "Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to you. I swear on my, unfortunately eternal, life." He said, gentleness radiating out of his voice. "Think of me as your own personal guardian angel."
"Don't worry. I'll never let you fall. I'll be your Earth." He carefully picked her up bridal style and let his wings expand from his back. "Nothing bad will happen. I won't let it." He started to flap his wings, and eventually he started to fly. He kept low to the ground, but he put up his glamor to avoid being seen by other humans, while still letting Ella see him.
He cradled her head into his neck and held her in a protective embrace as he zoomed over the park. He slowed down and landed on the edge of it. "We are at the park."
"It is the center of town L." He said, still holding her. "If we continue walking the way I was flying, we should get there."
He shook his head. "The complex is a bit south from the park." He explained, still carrying her as he started walking South west."
He gave a small chuckle. "About time you noticed. Not that I mind or anything. It felt quite nice actually." Fallen said as he set her down.
He followed, unaware of the state her mind was in as he was preventing himself from trying to find out. 'She won't like it if I always feel what she feels.'
Fallen had heard the sigh. "You ok?"
"Well, as we are talking to each other now, you don't need to be flustered." He said with a smirk on his face.
His eye twitched at the 'smart ass' comment, as his mother used to call him that before she hit him and he was left out on a curb somewhere. He looked down. "Sorry...."
He looked up with a small smile on his face and decided to change the conversation. It wasn't good to dwell on the past. Fallen walked past her while she was standing with her hands on her hips. "You look cute when you do that." 'That should throw her off balance..'
He looked back at her and winked. "But I just did."
The holy water made the demon lose his balance. Miguel took advantage of the situation and killed the demon before he could have time to recover. The demon vanished in tiny dark particles of matter. Miguel folded his wings and cleaned the blood from his sword using a handkerchief. After that, he put it away on its sheath and turned to Kirby. "Are you ok? I'm sorry about this. It's all my fault, my presence attracted him."
"I-I'm fine, thank you. And it isn't an issue, you're fulfilling your holy duty." He knelt down on one knee, first to place his crucifix in his bag next to bow before Miguel. "As a servant of God, I kneel before you and extend my deepest gratitude." Kirby rose to his feet and looked to the scattered pile of ashes left behind by the slain devil, "Was that a minor demon?" Although he had picked up on its aura, it was faint. It was something along the lines of a soft glow and, given Miguel's single sweep of a blade, Kirby had determined it to be a weak fiend, possibly just a minion of a greater evil.
Miguel felt a bit awkward when Kirby knelt before him. He didn't like that because he didn't consider himself worthy of that treatment, moreover, he didn't wanted Kirby or any of his friends to treat him on a special way. Then, he looked at the remainings of the demon. "Ummm. . . . I haven't checked it before killing him, but I suppose so. Powerful demons don't use to show themselves in parks. They prefer to act from the shadows." Miguel looked at Kirby. "And don't kneel before me, per favore (please). I don't like it. I'm not your superior, after all, we both are servants of the Lord." He smiled friendly. His wings moved a little as he walked away from the ashes. He took just a few steps before freezing, he looked at Kirby as if he had just realized something important. "Wait a moment. How did you know he was a demon? I mean, how were you able to notice it before he spoke to us? Humans can't recognize demons." He was staring at the priest both curious and confused.
Fallen nodded at Ella's question. "I know."
"My mother used to call me smart ass... Before I awas abandoned. She hit me after words..."
"A few more minutes." He said, almost lost in the thoughts of his past.
Fallen laughed lightly as he saw Ella hop, skip and jump. Soon, he saw the mall complex ahead. "We're here."
Fallen looked over at Ella and noticed a faint smile upon her lips. 'She seems really happy. I'll bring her here again.' "It is a very beautiful sight."
"The fountain at night. The way the lights reflect and merge throughout the water. It makes me feel at ease."
Fallen walked over to her and stood next to her, gazing into the fountain.
After a few moments, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a quarter. He closed his eyes and then flipped the coin into the fountain.
"I wished that the next newborn to come into the world will live a happy life..."
"Aren't we all? But alas, if the balance of harmony and chaos is distrupted, all hell would break loose. At least that's what the stories say." He said as he wrapped on of his wings around her.
