“Blokes means ‘guys’ in our wonderful world of Great Britain,” JD explained to Voltaire with a smile on his face. “I try not to be so ethnic but it is hard when you are genuinely British. So I swear I’m not insulting you mate.” It was then he offered it a thought, “calling you a ‘cad’ would be an insult- so just look out for that word.” He hoped he had extinguished that fire quicker than it had begun. He hadn’t realized that certain cultural nuances would form, but he should have expected it. Truth be told he was somewhat ashamed in his lack of planning otherwise. JD made a mental note to look up American slang from now on and attempt to utilize it efficiently.
While he could have contemplated their ethnic differences all night he was quickly derailed by Silver’s blush. It was apparent that she tried to smother it, but he damn well noticed. Without further ado he approached the stoic female and smiled. “Would you care to escort me then Miss Silver- I would much so enjoy your presence.” With that he offered the curve in his arm for her to take- not at all finding it be in good mannerisms for a single woman to walk about the streets unescorted. Once again that was the cultural differences plainly enunciated.
