"Aw damn," She answered snapping her fingers in false exasperation, "Maybe next week?" Dilara grinned and winked at Adam playfully. She didn't want the answer now, of course, it ruined all the fun even though she knew it would never be higher than two percent. "Yeah, yeah, yeah old man." Dilara mumbled waving off the doctors answer, "Now who's gonna scratch kitty's ears?" She looked around the room hopefully. "Maybe Adam? Jenna? Luuuu-cy?" She purred drawing out the the last persons name.
Jenna blushed slightly when the other girl said her name. "Um..." She said softly, squirming in her seat. When the other girl got this way it was a little uncomfortable. For a moment Jenna even considered going back to her room to read or find something else to do.
-
((For the record, the doc has an anti-power module on him, so William wouldn't be able to read his mind, Lucy couldn't make him fall in love with a touch and Adam can only know future events concerning him in proxy to the others. I know OoC should be in the OoC thread, but last time I checked it I'm the only one who posted there.))
"Alrighty, purchases done." The intercom would utter as the chimming of bells hinted to the fact that Doctor had left the convenience store. "Now now young lady, none of the sass." He teased at Dilara before the intercom turned off for good, the humming sound done for good.
Adam sighed and shrugged, turning to face the cat woman with a light smile. "If you turn into a cat for it, I don't mind... it'd just be weird if you were human while I'm doing it." He'd respond. He knew she wouldn't be any less human in cat form, but it helped his psyche. Calmly, he would walk up to the couch and sat down, tapping his lap to invite her.
-
Dilara stuck her tongue out in the direction of the intercom before turning back to Adam. "Awww you're the best Adam!" She squealed. By the time she hopped onto the couch she was already mid-morph. It was nice when someone agreed to scratch her ears every once and a while. Sure part of it was a flirt but she genuinely liked the way it made her feel drowsy. Now in full cat form Dilara stretched and settled in Adam's lap, her tail twitching in anticipation of what was to come.
-
"I know, I know..." Slowly brushing the back of the cat with his hand, he would then proceed to scratch softly behind the ears of the feline, a calm expression on his face. He didn't fully understand why, but whenever he scratched Dilara's ears the future seemed to improve by an infinitely small amount. In fact, the mood of the others improving appeared to have a direct correlation with his future. This was likely the primary reason Adam hadn't just flipped off all of them on day 1. Hating where you are sucks, knowing with certainty you're stuck there for a good while... worst.
-
Dante headed up tp his room which is basically an obiscal course to his bed and bathroom. He hated it but the "professors" of Dr. Adande wanted him stronger amd faster. As he wasnt already. He finally makes it and plops down, tired
-
Dilara's ears twitched as she lowered her head into her paws. 'Man, this is the life,' She thought as she began softly kneading Adam's pants with her claws. If she could find a way to be a cat forever it would be the best thing to possibly happen. 'Maybe if we escape Adam can keep me...' The hopeful but useless thought came to her head. She knew William was probably hearing her thoughts but who cared? It wasn't like he offered to scratch her ears. Most of the time it was Adam who did that for her. She purred and began to slowly close her eyes.
"Um.." She started softly, "I think I'm just gonna head up to my room, guys," She said jumping off the couch and heading towards the stairs. No matter how many times she saw Dilara just casual turn into a cat to be petted or sleep it still made her feel uncomfortable. Especially how Adam was so easy to just scratch the flirty girls ears like she was a regular old house cat. Shaking her head she climbed the stairs and headed to her room.
-
Out of boredom, as Adam was petting the cat, he looked towards William and decided to think about the most random crap he could possibly think of in hopes of getting an amusing reaction. Of course, he couldn't make it too obvious or it wouldn't be as much fun. "Tooth brush, toilet seat, plunger, condom, HIV, banana, red, window, potato, butt, nose, pants, shovel..." He'd go on, scratching the ears of the resting Dilara.
-
"Dear lord Adam, just what are you trying to do to me? What kind of person thinks up all of that random shit?" William raised his eyebrows as he bit into the tangerine like an apple. He shook his head, knowing that Adam was doing just because. "I'm glad you don't do this often, I'd have to shoot myself to make it stop." He joked, but half of him was being serious.
-
Dilara made a sound that was somewhat like a sneeze. Of course, had she been in human form, it would have been a small laugh. Adam was always a riot and deep down she loved being around him. Not that it would be much of a surprise seeing as the were experiments one and two. He'd been there almost as long as she had if not exactly as long. Meeting him was one of the few reasons she didn't mind being here o much. Of course she still hated it and would rather be free to live her life but it was better than being in an orphanage.
Feeling these heavy emotions set in Dilara shifted onto her back and grabbed Adams hand with her paws and began to kick and bite at his hand playfully.
-
"Sorry Will, just messing with you a little to pass the time, that's all." He'd think "out loud" so that the young man could hear it clearly. His eyes would then look down at the cat on his lap and he'd put on a smile, a light sigh coming from his lips. "Having fun?" Adam asked before pulling loose his index and booping the cat on the nose. Dilara had the merit of being positive and was relatively easy to get along with, so the two'd grown close as time passed. Even when he was frustrated towards the rest of the world, he was a little less severe with her, if only because she was the only one who'd been stuck here alone for a time before he came by.
Right now, however, the question that crossed Adam's mind was a lot less serious than the topic of their situation. "If I rub her belly and accidentally touch one of her nipples... would that be inappropriate?" After all, cat in appearance though she may be, the thing he was caressing right now was a human girl.
-
"Oh my god. No way, you did not just think that." Will smacked his face and made a loud "EWWW" like a child would. "I can't believe you'd think of that. OF COURSE IT WOULD BE INAPPROPRIATE. ohmygodohmygod. Terrible visual. bad bad bad." Will flailed his arms like a kid and dashed back up the way he had come down from.
Upon everyone hear the door slam shut. "YOU GAVE ME NIGHTMARES. ILL NEVER TOUCH CATS THE SAME WAY BECAUSE OF YOU." Obviously will was joking, but it was still disturbing to think about.
-
Lucy couldn't help but giggle a small bit, hearing William's outburst. As she sipped at her iced tea, she walked around the room and looked at the ceiling tiles, starting to count them individually. It was a habit that she had, when she was worried or upset.
-
Dilara jumped at Williams sudden loudness and rolled onto her belly. She then jumped down from Adam's lap and morphed back into a human girl. "What was that about?" She asked raising an eyebrow at Adam. Sometimes she wished she could read minds like William. But only because she felt like she was missing out when her made seemingly random outbursts like that.
Arms akimbo she leaned toward the boy grinning. "Were you-" She snickered softly almost unable to control herself, "Were you h-having weird bestiality thoughts or something?" She finished after great difficulty, collapsing onto the couch with laughter. Whatever he was thinking Dilara doubted he meant it, but then again with Adam it was hard to know.
-
Dante growled lowly, the commotion was sending an irritating ring in his ears. Groaning, he got up, went through the obsicle course and towards the commotion, sneering at everyone. Disturb him in his nap, you know not to talk to him
-
A loud burst of laughter came to Adam. "Well, you could say that's what my thoughts were about but... I was messing with William again. If you want to know I can tell you what I was thinking" ((writer's block))
-
Dilara flashed a sheepish smile at Dante's glare. "Lighten up a little," She chirped. Not speaking to Dante after interrupting his sleep was one of those unspoken rules of the house. One she never followed.
Before he could reply, however, Dilara turned her attention back to Adam. "And nah you don't have too, I'm not interested in that kind of thing anyway. If you want me you gotta take me all human," She answered with a wink. He was messing around just as she figured but it didn't stop her from giving her own healthy dose of teasing, "Are you up for it, tiger?"
-
Dante looked over at Dilara and scoffed. Lighten up his arse. There was indeed nothing to lighten up. Have you ever seen a rat lighten up when death was abotu to approach him? No. So why should he lighten up
-
A smile came up on Adam's lips, one of those cocky superior grins he very rarely demonstrated but always pulled off perfectly. "All human, huh? Not a problem for me." Slowly, he would stand up and look into her eyes, then look towards Dante, did that guy ever smile? He didn't even know and wasn't entirely convinced he cared. But he was having his own fun. "The result's the same but... your place or mine?"
Doctor Maximillian Adante burst into the room before Dilara could give a response to Adam's flirtations. Practically smashing the door open, groceries in hand. "Hello there, boys and girls!" He'd call out, strutting to the kitchen and dropping off the bags of things he had purchased for the lot of them. "It's been a while..." Waiting a very brief moment for any form of response, the doctor would clasp his hands in contempt and with a wide smirk raised them to the sky. "We're not complete quite yet, but I simply couldn't hold the news any longer! You kids are going to be allowed outside again!" and being the melodramatic that he is, the Doctor stopped there, waiting for reactions.
-
Dante's lips curled up into a rare, invisible twitchy smile, he hated being indoors, in one place too long. Now that they were allow outside, his insides were jumping for joy. But on the outside, it seems that he was bored and going 'whatever'
-
Willian came dashing down the stairs, his mouth gaping. "Did someone say outside?" He looked at all of them, wanting to believe that what he thought he heard was true. "Repeat that for me, I want to make sure I didn't fall asleep."
Lucy leaned back against the wall farthest away from everyone, looking down as she heard them all talking.
-
Dante turned his attention towards Will. "You heard the doctor. We're finally getting out of this house and outside for once"
-
Dilara laughed softly. She would have gladly replied if not for the Doctors arrival. "Hey there doc," She called out. There was a slight hint of annoyance in her voice but she doubted he would notice since she had barely greeted him before he went on to his announcement. Her eyes went wide. 'Outside?' It had been ages since she'd step foot outside the house. "Surely you're just messing with us," She said cautiously. It was a little hard to believe Doctor Adande would let them go out. There had to be some kind of catch.
Jenna went down stairs when she heard Doctor Adande making a big production of coming home as usual. She was slow going down but came in time to hear the exchange between Dante and Will. "We're going outside? Where are we going?" Jenna still hadn't grasped what was going to happen but by Will's reaction it seemed to be a good thing.
-
"Haha, I knew you kids would love the news!" The doctor let out with a jovial grin, rotating in the air before landing in front of Will, placing both hands upon his shoulders. "You're going to go outside!" The doctor would then turn and take a step back so as to have them all in his sight. "We're not complete yet, I wanted to find a few more members before making the announcement but I've been taking too long and I simply couldn't wait any longer."
Adam already knew what it was, but in light of not being able to reveal too much without potentially causing a catastrophe he looked at the Doctor and cocked an eyebrow. "So..." Reaching his hand up as though a grade-school asking a question, he would ask; "...what's the catch?"
-
Dante looked at Dr. Adande with a smug look, when it comes to Dr. giving them things that were usual to others but unusual to them, there's always a catch. "Yes Dr. what is the catch?"
-
"Well, the catch is that you have to return here at least for an hour daily." A light pause came in Doctor Adante's speech as he leaned back against a wall, getting a fuller view of all his experiments. "You'll have... assignments, to take care of as a group on the exterior. Once those are done you have what's left of your 23 hours of freedom to do as you please. Play superhero, party and drink, it's your call really. But something really bad will happen if you stay out of here later than that."
-
Dilara's eyes widened as she leaned forward. Twenty-three hours of freedom?" She gasped. Maybe to the others that didn't sound like that much but to Dilara it was a completely different world. Her mind was already reeling at the things she'd do first. How long had it been since she was free. How long since she was outside these four walls.
"Outside...?" Jenna muttered softly, "Assignments?" Adam and Dante seemed skeptic to say the least but she was glad to hear they'd be going outside. After all that meant they could put use to their powers. 'Doesn't it...?' She thought to herself. They wouldn't just be trapped here doing nothing anymore. She could visit their old friends. "Wait, what about seeing our families?' She didn't know exactly where they were or how far from home or if their family even knew she was alive.
-
The doctor smiled. "That's right. Twenty-three hours." He let out in Dilara's direction. "To be honest, I felt bad holding you all here, but you have to understand it was for your own good. Now all I'm asking you is to come one hour a day - you don't even have to all show up at the same time - so I can make sure the pills I provided you with did not have any side-effects and that you're not abusing your powers in wrongful manners." Of course, the doctor had other designs and reasons for wanting them to come back, but revealing them risked jeopardizing the already unhealthy nature of their relationships.
Then, he would turn to Jenna, his smile still broad as a barn door. "Well, to answer your questions in a randomized order..." The doctor then paused and took out an intricate device, it seemed to be a phone but at the push of a button it revealed itself to be more of a remote, as a screen popped out from the wall behind him and a power point presentation appeared. "You're allowed to go wherever you wish for the twenty-three hours of freedom you're given - yes, this includes seeing your parents, friends and other loved ones if you so wish - under the condition that you don't talk about me or your abilities. Again, this is for your own good, not only would there be a chance you'd be considered a freak, but in a worse case scenario it could sever your ties with those people and land you in another, much less friendly, doctor's lab where you would be experimented on like guinea pigs... Nobody wants that, right?"
The doctor would then push another button and the page changed, the screen was a picture of a large, deserted park. "The first few tests will be non-lethal trials of your abilities which will be held in this area. It is relatively far from here and perfectly isolated, so there's no risk of people intervening, getting caught in them or revealing your identities. Once I've ensured you're all ready the assignments will be broad and varied... but in essence, you would be superheros safeguarding the city. An exciting thought, isn't it?" With that, the doctor took another patient pause, waiting for any of their outputs, he did not want to shower them with excessive information unless it was asked for.
"Super-heroes, huh...?" Adam couldn't help but wonder to himself. He liked the idea, it was a fantasy he'd had since he was a child, but his visions of the future let him know that it wouldn't be as magical as doctor Adante would like them to believe. Still, the prospect of this freedom was undeniably interesting and gave him a chance to finally leave this place he had difficulty standing. After some thought - and foresight - he ultimately stood up and nodded. "I'm in." Being able to see the future, he did not need to ask any questions, as he already knew who would ask them and what the doctor would respond.
-
William jumped up and down like an over excited fan girl. "Ohmygosh ohmygosh." He fanned himself jokingly. "So much excitement for just one day!" He plopped himself down on the couch, dragging Lucy down beside him by her shirt. "Aren't you happy Sweet? You'll get to see your family again~" William didn't know her actual name, he had picked up on the nick name but decided instead just to call her sweet.
Lucy let out a small smile and looked down. She only hopped they were still alive. Her father was very old, and her brother last time she remembered, had leukemia. She let out a sigh under her breath and hopped for the best.
She folded her arms across her chest, not wanting to come into skin on skin contact with Will. She leaned back into the couch however, listening to the conversation.
-
Jenna smiled. "I-I'm up for it! Definitely," She cried excitedly. This was exactly what she was hoping for. The chance to use their powers for something great.
"Hell yeah! Me too!" She wasn't particularly excited about seeing any friends or family seeing as she grew up in an orphanage, but just the thought of finally being out of this house was thrilling. "When do we start? The sooner the better," She grinned and leaned forward.
-
Dante rolled his eyes and groaned slighly. "Super heroes my arse and really, look at us you guys. I bet none of our friends, loved ones, and family recongize us. i bet you all, they had all forgotten us the moment we stepped foot in his place. Heck, like that Adande said, we all now freaks to the people outside of this building. We are nothing but rats and will always remain that way. I don't care what you all want to do to, where you want to go, or who you want to be called, considered as, but I am not you. I am not any of you, I am not what that doctor says we are". With a heaving sigh, he left the area and into his room. Annoyed and frusterated.
