The Help

"Netflix? What the hell is that? " I asked, sitting on the couch and leaning back.

I chuckled and shrugged. "Something you watch movies on? Not sure.. we are so behind on these things.." I said, with another laugh. I figured it out, and I scrolled through the movies. "This is really cool." I said

I smiled and nodded, resting my head on his shoulder. About halfway through the movie I wasn't feeling too hot.

I kissed her cheek softly, seeing she wasnt looking that great. "Feeling okay?" I asked, knowing for sure by the look in her eyes it may be a different answer..

I sighed. "I don't know.." I closed my eyes. I was starting to get dizzy.

"Here. Come on.." I said, standing, and taking her hand. I headed to the kitchen, and I got her a glass of water. I picked her up and set her on the counter, pecking her cheek, and handing it.to her.

I smiled and sipped my water. He's so sweet and caring.. I finished my water and then closed my eyes. I felt overheated.

I sighed, and thought about what I should do.. I didnt need a thermometer to know she had a major fever. I was a bit worried, it may be nothing. But I didnt want her sick on the first few days of being in England. "What can I do?" I asked softly.

I sighed and opened my eyes. "I just need some rest." I said, getting off the counter. I went to bed and laid down.

I sighed, and I let her do her thing. I finished the movie and did a few other things. Did laundry, and I even cooked dinner. Top ramen.. I got her some, giving her mostly some of the soup. I set it on the nightstand, and I kissed her shoulder. "Try to eat something hon.."

I sighed and I buried my face in my pillow. "I'm not hungry.." I mumbled. Wow.. That's new.

I frowned. Something really must be wrong then. "Okay .." I said, and I replaced the soup with ice water. "Then at least drink water alright?" I said, rubbing her side before heading back out

I sipped some water, and then slipped back into sleep. When I woke up again, it was the middle of the night and I was on FIRE.

I felt her move around, and I sat up. "Whats wrong?" I asked, feeling her.. wow. We may need to go to the hospital.. I slowly pulled the blankets off her and I felt her arm. "We have to cool you off.."

I was panting lightly and I was sweating like crazy. I got up and went to the bathroom. It really hurt to pee. I then took a cold shower and I was still feverish when I got out. I took my temperature. 105... Wow..

"Babe you okay in there?" I asked, leaning against the door. I was now ready, and dressed. I had to take her to the hospital. "Im calling a cab.." I said.

My side was hurting and I whimpered softly. My kidneys hurt.. I walked out and sat down, waiting for the cab.

The cab was soon here and I picked her up and I kissed her cheek when I did so. "Everything will be better soon, I promise.." I said, getting into the cab and buckling her in for her. When there, I paid him, and rushed inside, her in my arms, I held her close, and I checked her in. Now we had to wait for a room.

I was panting and sweating. I felt like I was dying. "Slade.." I breathed, as I clung to him. "It hurts.." My whole body was aching and my kidneys were killing me.

"It will.. get better alright?" I said, brushing her hair back. Soon, we got a room, thank god. Thay immediately got.fluids into her through an iv, and got her temperature under control.

I passed out and then woke up a few hours later. I felt horrible. I was in so much pain.

"Nurse ! Shes awake." I said, seeing the pain in her eyes.. I was so scared.. the nurse rushed in, and quickly gave her pain medication. "Im so sorry this is happening to you.." I said gently, taking her hand.

I squeezed his hand weakly and I looked into his eyes. "It's not your fault. " I said hoarsly. I sighed. "Can you get me some water please?" I asked.

I nodded quickly, and got her some ice water, and I put a straw in it. I helped her sit up, and I brought the straw to her lips. I felt awful.. why was this happening? The doctor cane in, smiling. "Okay, we may meed to get yeh an xray dear, alright? The blood results came back, and I need to double check and see if its what I think." He saidx his accent thick.

I looked up, and I found it hard and painful to swallow. I coughed lightly. "And what do you think it is doctor? " I asked.

"I think your kidneys are failing.. we may need to find a donor, soon if it is. " he said. My heard dropped. "Wh..What?" I asked, shocked. How?.. why?.. "Its possible to live off one kidney, and thats what you may need to do, we have to remove both. Lets get you into xray." He said, calling the nurse in, and they wheeled hrr off

They took my xrays and then they put me back in my room. My heart was pounding. Kidneys failing? Why? How?

The doctor cam back, and confirmed that it was that.. now .. they had to find a donor.. then he left. I sighed, taking her hand. "They will find someone.." I said

I closed my eyes. "It'll be so hard.. Living with one kidney. How could this happen? " I whimpered. I shouldn't have came here..

"Its possible.." I said softly. "Babe.. im sorry. I shouldn't have made you come with me.." I said, holding my head in my hands.
