I'm just happy to see ya'll chatting in English. Spending time in China with relatives I've never seen before and can't communicate with has really been doing my head in. It's not all that bad, sights to see and eating at restaurants errday, but it's no joke that damn near everything is blocked on the internet here. A handful of webcomics and checking up on wtf every now and then has been keeping me sane though. I just hope I don't lose my marbles before getting back to Australia. Just a few days now...

Where are you vacationing in China? ;o

I was actually offered a job position in Beijing, but I declined when they required me to keep a two year contract, lol. Like, there wasn't a trial period or anything. It was: you either take the job or you don't... lol.

    Kick it back.

Teach it a lesson for being difficult. Maybe eat its dessert in front of it. You know, to let it know you mean business. And have an excuse to eat double dessert.

I seriously did kick it's ass back. I was damn awesome today, and if it wasn't for this stomach ache that his been bothering for over five hours, I'd be far more enthusiastic about it. But I just finished up a super long bath that was like...

lights out. candles lit. ambient chill music. bubbles everywhere.

And i feel exponentially fucking better.

Oh, that bath sounds absolutely amazing. And now I want a bubble bath, but... California is in a horrific drought and I can't, in good conscience, waste that much water. /cries

For the stomachache, have you tried taking Tums or some other antacid? ):

I want a bath but I'm pretty sure my tub doesn't have that stopper thing so it's unbathable. D: Ginger and peppermint help the tummy too!

As for me, I joined a Meetup group and we went to take pictures of sunflowers today. It was awesome:

Thanks guys, I'm gonna use those tips tomorrow if it still persists. I don't have peppermint, ginger or antacids in the house. :(

And omg Xavi that picture came out so lovely!

Anywhales, I'm staying in Shanghai, joon, but before then I was going to all sorts of places on a sightseeing tour. Can't remember their names, but there were boat rides, a bunch of really old places and this one theatre show that had air acrobats, martial artists, singers, dancers and 4 motorbike riders in a steel ball cage. 'Twas epic awesome.

    @ XAV :

Oh, man, that picture is perfect. How are you liking the Meetup group? I've always been curious about signing up for one, but never really knew if I should.

    @ ENKERZED :

Oh, Shanghai has been so amazing in the last few years! All of the development and urbanization has totally renovated the city.

I remember, when I was younger, I went on a multi-city tour in China. It was... it was really something, haha. The more rural areas were, well, not really my thing. I'm a city girl at heart, lolol. But, damn, the acrobat show sounds super, super crazy. The only thing I did on my sightseeing tour was see really old, but "culturally important" places. It was... uh, it was kind of boring, lolol. Lots of walking, lots of nature, lots of heat. lolol.

How long are you staying in China? Any plans to head south into Guangzhou or HK?

I definitely recommend joining Meetup. It's amazing. You get to pick what groups you want to join and what events you want to attend. Like when I searched I look for arts, anime, and nature. Happened upon the photo group and was like - why not.

I think the coolest part with some of the hobby groups is that you can to be social or not. If I want to, I can ask professionals how to use a camera (I was way too nervous to do that) or I can just do my own thing. And no one judges you! It's great. You're just surrounded by like-minded people who respect you.

I would probably say the best part of Meetup is that I don't have to do anything. I don't have to plan. I don't have to research. I don't have to organize people or stress. I just go, if I want to. It's stress-free and since I'm in groups I like, I get notifications for things I want to do. At some point, we're going to do an evening on the beaches. There's even talk of going to the lighthouses -- so the organizer will provide the directions, price, etc. I don't need to look into it or anything (and sometimes the group will cover the costs).

Hmmm, I should look into a Cape Cod group. I'm always there on the weekends, it would be nice to do something besides play DOTA 2 or Mario Cart. xD

    @ XAV :

Haha, I looked at the groups offered in my city and the surrounding cities...

There are so many groups for young women to just go out and, presumably, party till the break of dawn, lol. And then there are really weird groups that... I'm not even sure why they exist, lolol.

I might check out the writing one though. It looks... not insane, haha.

5 days til home. Not visiting any other places as far as I know except for a few family graves. Can't wait to leave, the traffic in Shanghai is insane. Nearly got ran over twice today by motorcyclists who don't see to think the lights apply to them... Yet I feel like I might actually be safer here, what with what's been happening in Australia recently. Some scary shit, I'm tellin ya.

    @ ENKERZED :

Oh yeah, the traffic in China is always so... memorable, lol.

The best thing is, at times, they'll even yell at you for walking into the street when, you know, it's red for them, lolol.

Yeah, there are A TON of weird ones near me too. It just amazes me what people like and then I remember, we're all different so I suppose there ought to be groups for just about everything.

I'm tempted to join a foodie group but I fear my wallet will hate me D:

    @ SCHIZ :

Partying is expensive. Partying in the city is more expensive.

I need to spend money on other things. Like makeup, clothes, and eating out. lolol...

    @ XAV :

I ended up going to one of the meet-ups. I don't think my experience was nearly as gratifying as yours, haha.

It did, however, make for a really fun story to tell other people, haha.

Oh jeez, I hope it wasn't too terrible! So long as you can get a good laugh out of it, it mustn't be that terrible? Right... right?!

And I miss those food pics too. If I ever discovered Joon has a Instragram and posts food pics, I would so follow. Who doesn't like looking at pretty pictures of pretty food all day?

    @ SCHIZ :

Haha, I've gotten really lazy about remembering to take pictures of the food I eat. I've been pretty bad at remembering to take photos, period, lol.

But, with the new iPhone, it'd be a crime if I didn't at least try, right? Right, right.

    @ XAV :

It was pretty awkward, lol. But my friends and I had a good laugh about it afterwards over some drinks, haha. So, I guess things evened out?

I have an Instagram that I forgot about and, every now and then, I'll think about it and tell myself I'll pick it up again, but... I never really do, haha. My life isn't exciting enough to keep an Instagram. orz

So what are the plans for this weekend? Anything fun, exciting, or relaxing? Andrew should be visiting and we might get ourselves lost in a woods for a couple hours. Might get Thai food tonight. Never had it before but I'm itching to try it out. The building... it's purple. O.o

Unf, awww that helps Xavi~ working weekends isn't too bad considering it goes by in the blink of an eye, but ya know... when I was a step down I had that sweetheart schedule, and I miss that. Mon-Fri 7-4's and no weekends. Gaaaaaah, I JUST HAVE TO KEEP PRETENDING ACCEPTING THIS NEW JOB WAS WORTH IT.
  • 09-29-2014, 02:35 PM
    Xavirne
Of course it's worth it. You're getting paid! Right? Oh dear goshes, I hope you're getting paid?!

But in all honesty, working weekends can have its perks! When you go places on weekends, it always costs more. Go during the week? Sometimes it's half-off or free! Hate missing those meal specials? Now you're privy to all those fancy deals and features at restaurants! Hate the crowds at popular places? I hear the crowds are smaller during those odd ball days and times (true fact, I went to Disney on a random day -- Tuesday or Monday? -- and I didn't have to deal with mobs of people ruining my pictures!).

    @ FUU:

Welcome back from your hiatus, haha. But, nah, I feel you; it's so easy to just vanish, lol.

But, since you're back (or hoping to be back), you should def check out the halloween event this year! It's a free-plot, but with an exciting bonus mystery!

    The Devil's Night Masquerade

I don't join any groups because I am so shy.
And I barely get 1 x 1 so yeah..i barely have a reason on here.

I don't exactly know what to do with these events.

Aww, that's too bad. ): I think the board is what you make of it and everyone is really friendly, so I'd definitely encourage you to pick up a game or ask for a one/one. ;3

But, if you ever feel up for it, these holiday events are just a fun way to go full-creative with your character. It's like an online party for your creative side, haha. Of course, for the Halloween event, we've included a fun little mystery, which will be revealed in due time.

I can never find one that I really want to join. x.x
But I am not very good with ideas. But since I am back here maybe I will try to find one.

I've never joined in on the events ever on here.
So I am like..."Man got no idea what i should do."

One on ones..man those are hard to get anyone's attention to do one with me. >.<

But i need to get myself out there. so much to do. x.x
