The Help

My eyes fluttered open and I smiled, looking up at him. "Hey.." I whispered.

"Hey beautiful.." I said, and I slowly sat up, stretching. I looked at the papers that were on my desk, and I sighed. Hopefully she didnt see those. Those were very personal feelings.

I sighed and closed my eyes again, stretching out like a cat.

"Come on.. we should go get some fresh air." I said, and I stood, tucking the papers away on my desk sneekily.

I nodded and got up, taking his hand as we walked out. "Wanna get on the roof?" I asked.

"Yes." I said, and I watched her closley as she crawled , and I went up after her, and I sat beside her. I kissed her cheek softly. "Just a mellow day sounds nice."

I nodded and rested my head on his shoulder, taking his hand. "Oh yes."

I chuckled softly, and I watched the sky, it was very cloudy. Hopefully it didnt rain..

I laid back and stared up at the sky. It was so nice and cool out.

I liked fhe cooler weather, it felt like a good breath of fresh air. "Have you ever fallen off?" I asked her, glancing at the ground.

I nodded. "Yeah. Loads of times. I've broken my arm once."

"That was why you had that cast.." I said, remembering it. "Well.. that is kind of scary." I said, taking a deep breath..

I looked up at him. "Are you scared? " I asked with a smile.

"Psh. Naaah." I said, making a face. "Maybe a little." I said, chuckling lightly.

I smiled. "Don't worry. I'm just clumsy."

"Thats what scares me." I said, giving her hand a squeeze. "Jist be careful."

I smiled. "Babe. I'll be fine." I said, kissing his hand.

I raised an eyebrow. "Babe?" I said. "I like that." I added, kissing her lips softly.. my stomach growled lowly, and I knew nothing could be done about it.

I kissed him back gently and I sighed. "Another reason we shouldn't get drunk. We puke up what we have.."

"Yeah.." I said. "I just wish I could leave here still.. I have money.. we dont have to stay here and starve .. they make it too easy to run away here too." I said.

"That's because they wouldn't blame us if we did." I whispered, frowning to myself.

"You.. know we could.. bring Sydney and Jacob also.." I said. "We are all almost 18.." I said.

I sat up and wrapped my arms around my knees. "Yeah.."

"Do you want to?" I asked her, taking her hand. "We could be happy.." I said softly.

I sighed. "I don't know.. I've never left this town before.."

"You can trust me.. I know a town, a few miles out.. its very nice.. theres even a beach..." I said softly.

"Nothing's gonna change. The whole country is going through a depression. "

"Then we go to England.." I said softly. I had enough for tickets there.. "Im trying here.. stop being so.. negative.."

"How can I not? I'm scared Slade. Fucking terrified." I said, looking down.

"Im trying to find a solution, and I think I know how. But youre hesitant towards it, but I know it's going to work. I need you to trust me." I said, sighing, and hokding my head in my hands.
