His face darkened. "Yeah... I know..."
Hope put a smile on his face. "Yeah. It's all good now. Sorry."
Miguel frowned. "What is he doing? He's not going to kill her? What kind of angel would do that." He remembered then that there was some angels on the Angel Sanctuary that didn't want to fight and hurt demons. They said that maybe it could be another way. Miguel didn't agree with them, he knew that demons where heartless and cruel creatures that didn't deserve any mercy, or at least that was the way he saw them. He had never encountered a demon that showed signs of love or caring for something, they just wanted to destroy, kill, rape, corrupt and do a long long list of other bad things. He hissed. "I hope he's not one of that angels."
Mikael got up and approached the church. He had always felt attracted to that kind of places even if he was supposed to not be near them. "Maybe it's due to my angelic blood. After all my father was an . . . " He couldn't continue with thar thought. His father being an angel was something that make him feel sick. How could a demon born from an angelic father? Of course his mother was a demon, she was a succubus. He couldn't even imagine how could they fall in love. "Better not think about it." He said while touching the wall of the church. He could feel the divine energy reacting to his hand, but doubting about what to do with him. He got the message as if it was written on the wall "You are not completely a demon." said the divine powers that protect the church. He stopped touching the wall. "F*ck that sh*t. A stupid wall is not gonna tell me what am I."
Storm Erebos was walking through the park, minding his own business. After all, this was his only free time, and he sure as hell wasn't going to stay at work.
Kirby awoke several hours later, he looked at the clock and let out a soft sigh. Given the day's events, he was too riled up to fall back asleep. He walked to his front bay window and looked over to the church. From his home he couldn't get the best view, but he could at least spot the steeple and he smiled. "Well, if I can't get any sleep..." In a few minutes, he was dressed in his Cassock and he headed out towards Saint Dymphna's. There were a few odd tasks he hadn't time to complete for a while, like fixing the broken pews in the back, or the burnt out lights in the basement, and it was only a few hours until opening. It seemed like an opportune time to get things done.
As he crossed the park he noticed a surly young adult with black hair, and tipped him a friendly nod. The boy just kept walking like Kirby wasn't even there. "How rude." He thought to himself, but brushed it off. Kids were like that these days.
When he got to the church, however, he noticed someone standing inside the locked gate. He squinted his eyes to get a better look, but the person vanished beyond the other side of the building. Slowly and quietly, Kirby unlocked the gate and tiptoed his way towards the trespasser. In his mind, it was probably just a local boy whose friends dared him to spend the night in the 'haunted' church, it wasn't the first time it had happened. Before even rounding the corner, he already began speaking "Excuse me! You're trespassing on church property and..." He stopped mid sentence. The person before him wasn't a child, it was a full-grown adult, but that wasn't what scared Kirby the most. Crimson eyes, blood red hair, and the notorious red aura. Well, more amber than red, it was all very peculiar. "H-how are you...these are sacred grounds..." He took a few steps back and tripped over his feet and landed on his backside. "Who are you?" Kirby clenched the cross around his neck tightly.
"All right." He said with a hint of worry in his voice. "Just make sure you change first."
He gave a soft smile as she left and got out of the tub and changed into a white shirt and black jeans. Hope sighed as he sat on his bed and looked at his blank ceiling. "Man I'm boring..."
He looked at her in surprise, as he thought she had left. "Are you sure?"
He smiled and rolled off his bed. After catching himself, he walked over to her and hugged her.
Hope gave a small kiss on her neck, and rubbed her back lightly.
He smiled and chuckled at the squeezing that she was doing. "Don't worry," Hope said as he held her just as tightly. "I won't leave you." 'I feel... complete... with you'
"Well... I could take you shopping, if you want?" He offered.
He raised an eyebrow. "You're not what?" He said as he walked to the garage.
"You don't have to be a shopper to shop. Just find something you like and it's yours." He replied.
"All righty then." He said as he got into his car and turned it on. "Come on in."
He nodded and pulled out of the garage and headed towards the Mall complex.
Fallen glanced over at her before putting his eyes back on the road. "You okay?"
"All righty then.." He said as he pulled into the parking place at the Mall place thing.
He turned off the car and got out. "Fine, Mrs. BrightIdeas." He teased.
Mikael didn't even know why he entered the church. Maybe he did it because it was forbbiden. He felt weird as he crossed the entrance door, he knew that he wasn't welcome there but at the same time he felt something familiar. "I don't like this place." Suddenly he felt the presence of a man, he could feel him before he spoke. Mikael stopped walking and turned around, soon after, the man fell to the ground, holding a cross. Mikael laughed. "Me? It depends. I've got many names." He smiled, delighted with the man's fear. "Ya better ask me what am I." He paused for a moment. "So, little priest, what do ya think I am?" He was playing with the man, of course. One don't get the chance to play with a priest everyday, so Mikael wanted to have a little fun with him. He was thinking about which of his tricks would scare him the most. They were just little delusions, but they used to work well on the average human.
He nodded before walking into the Mall area. "Yeah. Well... hopefully anyway..."
"D-d-" Kirby was chocking to speak from the shock, but eventually pulled himself together, "Demon." He scowled at the word, his voice grew stern and harsh. Dusting off is Cossack and standing to his feet, he reached into his bag and pulled out a crucifix and holy water flask, much like before. And again, like before, he was having a moment of bravado, "Tell me demon, before I cast you back into the pits of Hell. How and why are you here?" Kirby spoke clearly and directly, his eyes locking on the crimson gaze of the devil before him.
Mikael wanted to vanish into thin air, it was an easy trick, he used his powers and waited. . . but nothing happened. The man was starring right at him. "Oh, sh*t. How can I be so stupid?" He realized that he was on holy ground and his powers didn't work there. He looked at the holy water, he knew that it burnt like acid on his skin and he decided to make the man believe that he surrended. He took a few steps back and threw up his hands. "Ok, ok, relax." He took another step back and a ray of light illuminated his face. He had the same face than his brother, Miguel, but he was more attractive somehow. "If by here ya mean the city, there's plenty of demons here, I'm just one of them. On the other hand, if by here ya mean this church, I just wanted te see what would happen if I entered here." He smiled. It was a lie, of course, he had came into the church because he felt something calling him, some strange force.
He raised an eye brow at the familiarity of Mikael's face and he took a step toward the demon. "Tell me, why are there so many demons in the city? What in God's great name is going on? First I see an angel, then a demon, then another demon, and this is all under twelves hours of each other." The hand containing the holy water was raised in a threatening manner, Kirby realized that even if the demon can stand on holy ground, he'd be unable to use any of his unholy powers. "You start telling me everything you know, or I start baptizing you unholy beast."
"Just think about it. People with the last names are eother related by blood or..." He stopped to let her come to her own conclusion.
He walked by a female clothing department. "Want to get you any dresses?" he asked. "Or just clothes?"
Mikael lowered his arms slowly, still smiling. "Hey, I don't know what's goin' on here. I've been sein' angels too, demons have been here for a while, but it's rare to see angels on the city. Keep that thing down before you hurt yourself." He threatened him, even though his tone was almost friendly.
At this point, Kirby didn't know what to do. He could end the demon right now, or in the very least cast him away and burn him badly. But the devil's natural charisma was getting to him, making it hard for him to throw down his arm and splash the holy water on his face. "I don't believe you..." He said softly, "everything you said thus far sounds like a lie..." He lowered his arm a bit, but remained defensive, walking slowly towards Mikael. "What is your name, demon?"
He shrugged. "I thought I'd offer. Beautiful Ladies, like yourself, usually like to get new clothes." Hope explained as he walked towards a nearby music store.
He looked back at her over his shoulder and grinned. "You didn't deny the beautiful part." He then walked inside the music store and started to browse.
