David heard the steps of her clone across the room, as she wasn't exactly quiet about it. He turned quickly to see the clone charging at him, a chain in her hands. It seemed she might try to wrap it around his neck, so he put his hand up, catching the chain and realizing this could be an opening for her to shock him. To avoid this from happening, he slid to her side and let go of the chain, waiting for her to move again.
-
When he had grabbed hold of her chain, she saw it as a perfect opportunity - but as if to read her mind he avoided the attack perfectly and let go.
Screw it, I'm not gonna be made to look like some punk! Harley wasn't sure how the rules worked here, but she reached into her coat pocket to pull out her witch blade, "Come at me again, I dare you!" Letting out a scream, she watched her clone charge up the blade in her hand before tossing it like a dart in his direction, the force driven by her anger alone. Immediately after the knife was thrown, the clone that threw it dissipated - her energy levels short lived.
But in that moment that the knife flew through the air, leaving sparks in it's trail she became fearful that it may have been too brutal of a move to make. But she had done it, let her pride and quick temper take advantage once again.
-
Geez, she sure is feisty. When she threw a knife at him that was all charged up, he hesitated. He wasn't sure if there was anyone behind him, but what if there was? Where was Kira? She was on the other side of the room, thank goodness. He decided that he would catch it, at the cost of hurting his hand quite a bit. It was better safe than sorry, he always thought. He put his hand up in front of the knife, just in time for it to go through his hand a bit and stop. The electricity wasn't something he was used to, so the shock hurt a bit. But he's still dealt with worse. After all the electricity went through his body and died down a bit, he took out the knife and looked at it for a moment. "Hey, you're pretty good for not having much experience! What do you say we call it a day? I'll fix your arms and we can talk about what to do to help you get even better. How's that sound?" he asked, a smile on his face as he wiped the blood off her knife and handed it back to her.
-
Her jaw tightened a bit as she watched the knife go into him, making that unpleasant popping sound that it did. She wasn't sure how to react, so she just watched... but it seemed as though he was holding up pretty well. As he made his way toward her, she used the wall to help herself back up from the ground - keeping a focused and apprehensive look on her face. It all felt insulting, a furious blow to her pride. One she wouldn't let slide.
"Just fix my arms..." Her glance moved to the side, Harley's sharp angled eyebrows furrowing over her narrow teal eyes. It was embarrassing, losing like that in front of Kira. She wouldn't let either of them know it, but she was actually relieved he wasn't too hurt by her attacks.
-
She almost winced at seeing the knife go in his hand. Ouch. That had to have stung. The wound itself might not have been so bad if it weren't paired with the electricity. He didn't even flinch when taking that blade out. Glancing over at Harley to see if she was fine. Other than that trick David did, it just seemed to be a wounded pride. "You two alright?" Pushing herself up, she made her way to them, offering them both a smile. "Let me see that hand."
-
"S-Sorry 'bout your arms, it was either that or potentially hurt you, and I didn't wanna do that.." He offered his hand to Kira who had joined them, and held the knife between his teeth as he pressed the pressure points again to activate Harley's arm muscles. "Th-" He stopped himself and took the knife out of his mouth. "There, good as new." He smiled and looked back to Kira, wondering what she was going to do to his hand.
-
Once she had control of her limbs again, Harley stretched them a bit and rolled her shoulders before snatching the knife from David. "I'm fine, Kira. Take care of this kid and I'll go find our room." Stuffing her knife back into her coat she opened the training room door, pausing briefly before exiting. She would be fine eventually, but a situation like this wasn't something that'd sit easily with her at the moment.
Tch, must be jet lag. She ran her hand through her mohawk, letting the brisk air cool any beads of sweat that still lingered on her forehead and neck.
-
Taking his hand, Kira looked at Harley before nodding. "Alright. We won't take long so, don't go too far." Watching her head out, she almost sighed, looking up at David. "You shouldn't have said you were basically taking it easy. It's almost an insult to her. But, I'm glad you didn't hurt her." Nodding, her eyes went to the cut. It wasn't, Too bad. "While I don't have epic powers, I could patch you up." Placing her fingers on the cut, she concentrated on healing and regenerating the cells until there was no injury for him to see or feel.
"There we go." Letting his hand go, she smirked. "Teach me a few tricks later on. I want to learn a bit."
-
David frowned. He didn't want to hurt her feelings, either. "Err.. Sorry.. I never really think about that, I mean if I were in her position I'd be thankful to my opponent, but I understand why she'd be.. Upset.." His voice trailed off as he watched her heal him. "Wh-..What did you just do?.." He sighed. "So you are a magic user, afterall.." He looked at his hand, amazed with how it healed right up. "You lied to me. You said you didn't have epic powers." He looked to her with a teasing, yet suspicious face.
Though, the thought of teaching her a few tricks sounded fun to him.
-
"It's alright, I'm thankful for the both of us." Kira almost chuckled but instead shook her head at his statement. "I Don't have epic powers. It's, not that epic. Healing people, it's something anyone can do with the aid of a doctor or some bandages. I just speed things along. I can't shoot flames or, control minds, or, that sorta stuff." In her mind, those were the powers that counted. "I'm normal enough. Let's go~" With that, she moved to get her bags.
-
David quickly went to get his things and follow her. "Being someone who's gotten hurt pretty badly plenty of times in his life, I have to say you're wrong. That's an extremely helpful and awesome power. What exactly is it that you do? Just some cool healing powers, or is it deeper than that?" He was going to comment on the 'normal' thing, but he let that be for now. He glanced again at her hair, which was swaying as she walked and still looked so soft and nice. Of course, she in general looked nice, but David really loved her hair. Blushing a teeny bit at his thoughts, he looked forward, trying to ignore it.
-
Enki observed as the fight came to an end. He took note of how David was more of an evasive, distraction type, while Harley was more of a straight damage dealer. Seeing her coming his way, he quickly hid on the other side of the doors, watching her walk out of the training room in quite a fit.
Enzo on the other hand had caught sight of her once again, this time, alone. Where is everyone? He wondered. The inside of the school nearly felt like a ghost town. Had everyone gone on a field trip of their own while team Valor was away?
"Enzo?" A familiar voice called out from the entrance to the school. Turning around, Enzo confirmed who the voice belonged to. "Oh, Azure!" "That's captain Azure to you." He replied in a light mood. "I'm sorry." "No worries. The jet's done refueling, so we're just about ready to depart over to the base." We're leaving? now?! "W-wait, I still have to see if anyone else will help, first."
Without waiting for his reply, Enzo turned around and began to search the first floor of the school first, checking the library, cafe, main lobby, and finally peeking into the training room to see another American talking to David.
"Hey, Sky." Enki emerged from his hiding spot. "I heard we're leaving.." "Yeah, i'm glad you're here, I need to ask and see if anyone could help us." "I'm not sure why anyone would want to help us, but fine."
-
"You just need to try and stay out of trouble." She teased, shrugging. "I could do other things.. If I wanted to." The problem was, she didn't. "I can change my appearance. I guess, my ability's connected with, changing things on a cellular level. Found out about it when I got really annoyed about something, my hair color changed to red. Nails grew too." It'd been a pain to change back. She couldn't really go back to class with red hair when a moment before it'd been black. She'd had to call in sick and head home with her brother. He was the only other person who knew she had powers at the time.
"Now I have more control over it but, I can't do anything over the top. Drains me. I can also destroy someone.. Not just heal." She'd done it once. Caused a heart attack to a person before. That'd been a horrible experience. Thank goodness Harley was around to help cover it. "It'd have to involve me touching a person though. Sucks cause, it's risky." As they made their way to the exit, she noticed a few boys chatting.
-
David listened to her carefully as she explained her powers. "Touching someone, eh? And you say you don't have awesome powers? Geez... You must think I'm the most boring person ever." He stuck his hands in his pocket and shrugged a bit, looking around to see Enki and Enzo talking. He looked to from Kira to them and then looked forward again. He sighed, his mind going back to the thought of Kira finding him boring.
-
"Uhh, David?" Enzo knew he couldn't talk to Kira. He didn't know english very well, and would butcher it at first try. "Where's Silver and everyone else? I need to talk to them." David wasn't apart of the team, so Enzo automatically assumed he wasn't coming along. Enki kept silent, and stayed in the background.
-
"How could you be boring? You're pretty skilled without abilities. That's better than being aided with other stuff." It was pure talent he had. She offered a smile to the two but remained quiet. She didn't know how to really talk back or have a conversation in Japanese, besides, it was none of her business.
-
David stopped and blushed a little at Kira's comment before turning to Enzo and Enki. "Silver went back to her room. I don't know about anyone else. What's up? Something wrong?" He looked back to Kira and smiled a little, switching to English for her. "He's just asking where everyone is." He shrugged and looked back to Enzo and Enki waiting for a response.
-
"There was another boy outside, then JD found his sister, I believe. At least, she looked a bit like him.. no clue where they went. Maybe an infermary? He looked to be in bad shape. Could tr the cafeteria." Kira offered, trying to remember where others were. Of couse, she didn't pay attention to the whereabouts of the others. If they wanted the teachers, she had no clue.
-
"I just wanted to see if they would help me.." Enzo doubted if David would help. They barely knew each other as it was, except for the fact that they were both good friends with Silver. "I'm going away for a while.."
-
David was about to translate to Enzo what Kira had told him, but Enzo replied before he could. "Going away? Help with what?" He gave him a confused look, but it was also a bit concerned. Was he in trouble?
-
"It's a long story." Enzo nervously chuckled. He hoped he didn't have to explain it. That alone would probably put David in danger as well as the guardians. "I doubt you'd have the time to listen."
-
"Well, it's not like I really have anywhere else to be. I was thinking about leaving again anyways. Gotta keep traveling, you know? But that can wait if you need help." David smiled. Enzo seemed to be an important friend to Silver, so there's no reason for him not to be an important friend to David, too. Even if Enzo didn't feel the same. "I'm willing to help you out." He placed his arm on Kira's shoulder as if she were an armrest, making sure she knew he knew she was still there.
-
Numerous times during his workout routine, the hairs on his neck had stood up, and everything metallic he touched gave him a quick shock. It was more annoying than anything, it was dry weather and all, but that was ridiculous! Regardless of static shocks, he finished up after about forty-five minutes or so, leaving the gymnasium with a few beads of sweat rolling from his temples and a towel wrapped around his shoulders. Upon exiting into the training room, he saw a group of the kids standing around chit-chatting. "Oh, hey guys. Enjoying your time back?" Marcus looked at Kira for a moment, giving a nod, "And visiting?" There were a few tidbits of unfinished business to attend to surrounding Kira and Harley, they had rooms to sleep in which was great! But they would have to make a decision soon whether or not to stay with Sorcerers or go back to America. It wasn't really to much of his concern, but he was the one responsible for bringing them to Japan, so he had some sort of part in helping them decide. For now though, relaxation.
-
She blushed as Enzo kissed her forehead, muttering a small, "idiot," under her breath, as the girl was still unused to casual physical contact. A hand lightly reached up to touch the spot where he had kissed, and Sasha smiled lightly to herself. Once Enzo had left the room, she stood. If she was going to help Enzo with his goals, then she would have to strengthen herself first.
First things first, she'd have to find a good teacher...Kenji, perhaps...Now, just where was that little rascal?
After her embarrassing encounter with David, Ines had returned to her small one bedroom apartment just outside of the school. She entered the small kitchenette, and began to brew some tea, to calm her nerves. After all, it had been a rather long day...
-
The last thing Enzo expected was to see David offer his help. Their friendship didn't start out smoothly, but already he was ready to out. This made Enzo laugh a little out of pure joy. "-Really? Are you sure? It's pretty dangerous.."
Then, the teacher that accompanied Enzo and his friends to America showed up. He looked as if he were doing a lot better, but he didn't know for sure. "Yeah," Enzo nodded towards him, answering his question. "I'm surprised there's not a mountain of homework for me." He ended it off with another laugh. The school excusing team Valor excluded any classes or homework that was needed to be done. And come to think of it, the school itself was pretty laid back, closing in on the new year.
Kenji had emerged from behind the computer monitor as if he had just shown up. "Oh, Sasha, you're here?" He hopped down from the computer desk and crossed his arms.
-
Volitaire was hunched over, catching his breath. He exhaled one more time before standing up strait. There were craters, dug open earth, fallen trees, and piles of dust from disintegrated objects. "Still out of control... No matter what method I use the magic. That previous area effect spell really did damage, but I'm drained and I still didn't have any real control over it." He let himself fall, his backside hitting the ground, laying along dust and rubble. "Let see... How did I manage to 'cast' spells? Lets start with that." He turned his hand and let the black runes slither around his hand. He never payed attention to them up close. They look just like text, but in some other warped language.
"THAT'S IT! THE RUNES!"
Volitaire jumped up, he tried at merging the two magics, Spatial and Dark. It was wild and volatile while surrounding his hand. "Now for the runes..." He let the runes circle and surround the magic charge. The flow was calmer and more restrained. "Why didn't I think of this before?" He shot the charge, the beam was steady and accurate, with no recoil. The runes spiraled around the black beam, and the distortion followed. When impacted with a few living trees they didn't immediately disintegrate, but slowly withered away into nothing. Runes swirled around whatever made contact with the beam, and as they withered the runes closed in. As if they were keeping the decaying effect going. Volitaire was shocked by the new result and looked at his hand. "The trees... Withered away? I haven't seen nor heard a spell do that before. I might be onto something."
-
Sasha whirled around, eyes widening. How the fu-?! She shook the thought off; she needed to ask him something important.
"'Course I'm here," she spoke, "Listen...I've got a favor I need to ask you."
-
David let out a laugh. "Danger? Danger is my middle name! Well, no, it's actually Alan.. But that's irrelevant. I've dealt with enough danger in my life to know how to handle it. It's okay." He offered Enzo a friendly smile to show that he was serious. That's about when Marcus had shown up, asking if they were enjoying their time back. He glanced down to Kira, then back to Marcus and smiled, deciding to remain quiet and let Enzo do the talking.
-
Marcus accompanied Enzo's chuckle and smiled. "You think you've got it bad with homework? Try being a teacher, I still haven't gotten a chance to write out my lesson plan." He let out another laugh, and noticed the smiles on the students' faces. It was great to see them in good spirits. To see smiling faces in dark times was always a relief. Although they will probably never forget the events that happened in New York, at least they could still relax and be themselves. "So, not to be nosy or anything, but what were you guys and gal talking about?" There wasn't anything suspicious about their mannerisms that would lead him to believe they were discussing something too crazy, but he did like to keep up to date with the students. It gave him an opportunity to get to know them better, not just so he could relate to them, but there was always a possibility that one could turn on him. It has happened before...and this time, he wanted to be prepared.
-
Standing around was awkward. She was about to suggest to David that she could just meet up later. There were bags to be put away. Shifting the weight of the bag, she stepped back before feeling his weight on her shoulder. Glancing up at him, she offered a slight smile but otherwise, remained quiet. Marcus soon joined, but he too was speaking Japanese. Just great. Someone else talking in the language she didn't know. "I, might have to see where Harley ran off to. Let yu guys talk." It seemed important and she felt useless in this little group.
