Leann was slightly shocked when she felt Reese suddenly grabbed her hand to help her up some rocks. She blushed and looked down, feeling the warmth of his hand. "T-thank you, I would have fallen over!"
She really hadn't even noticed the pile of rocks. Which means she probably would had fallen flat on her face. The thought alone embarrassed her a lot, which caused her to blush even more. "So um, are you so tall because you're part bear? Or is it just cause you were born to be tall?" She giggled a little at the thought.
-
"I-I'm fine." She said softly, slowly sitting down at the table. She didn't really know what to do, she was afraid to do or say something to make Tay angrier. Maggie's head jerked back over to the door when she heard another knock, her hands scorching her dress again. She let out a frustrated sigh. "But... I thought he left..."
She watched her friend get up and go to the door but she was surprised when there was a woman at the door instead of the fanged man. Getting to her feet Maggie walked over a few feet behind Tay to see what was going on. Who were these people that kept coming to the door? What did they want?
-
Lenna smiled slightly, making sure not to show any fangs - werewolves were just as bad as she is for instincts about challenges. She looked quickly over the boy in front of her, noting that he was nearly her height, but by his scent, he was about Michael's age. "Hello, I assume you the werewolf Damien tell me 'bout. I am Lenna, village doctor. He ask me to come talk to you, and the young girl to see how you find Teelu - this village. We try to keep it hidden, so it's a little... odd that you could find it so easily." She motioned past the boy into the house. "You mind I come in? Much more comfortable inside. I assure you, I mean no harm. I know all 'bout instincts for hate between vampires and werewolves. I a leopard, so I not have that."
-
"I uh... I was just made this way I guess. Everyone in my family was really tall. I mean, I was the tallest, but most of the guys were above average anyway." Reese said nervously, as he made sure she had her footing before he slowly released her hand. "It was pretty odd seeing me and my dad and brother walking around. We all stuck out like a foot above everyone else."
He looked down at her and smiled... and a tree branch smacked him in the face. Falling over, Reese grabbed his cheek where the limb had split the skin open and now dripped blood down his cheek. "Lovely... " He muttered, his face turneing red with embarrassment, forgetting for the moment that the woman beside him was a vampire. Way to impress a girl.
-
Leann's whole body stiffened as she saw that Reese had been cut. Her eyes instantly turned redder then they were an she looked hungrily up at him. She bit down on her bottom lip, the blood looked so tasty to her. She forced herself to look away, trying to get her mind off of the smell of his blood.
Faced away from him she asked, "Are you okay?" She had a rather cold voice. It didn't sound kind at all. It was almost as if someone had turned the kind switch off and turned the crazy, cold switch on. "I bet you taste good.." Her fingers twitched a little, her back still faced towards him. She hadn't meant to say the last part, it just came out. She was starting to give in to her blood lust.
-
Reese looked over at her, eyes wide. "Oh crap..." He mumbled to himself. Swallowing hard he tried to think, he didn't need her going all nuttso. He had seen enough Vampires do that. "Ye-yeah I'm fine." He said at first, but her voice sounded off.
"W-when was the last time you ate?" He asked, not really believing he was asking such a thing. "If... If you need to, and you promise not to kill me..." Reese stepped around in front of her and knelt down so he was more on her level. Slowly he reached up and moved a pink lock of hair from her eyes, they were so red now... he really had done it.
-
She looked away and frowned. She didn't even want to think about what she could do to him. Even though he was big and tall, she could probably drain him within three minutes. She closed her eyes as she bared her fangs, getting angry at herself. "Why are you tempting me.."
She brought her hands up to his face, leaning it to the side a little as she bent down, close to his face. Her bright red eyes peered into Reese's brown eyes. Her tongue licked over her fangs and she tilted her head and sunk her fangs into his neck, piercing the skin. She pulled him a little closer as she sucked out some of his blood. Her eyes closed as she was flooded with the warm feeling that she got every time she had human blood.
Before she got carried away, she pulled herself away from him, taking a couple steps away as she looked down, her pink hair falling in front of her face, a little blood dripping down her chin.
-
"Uh...Sure?" Tay was very confused. He stepped out of the way, holding the door open for the woman known as Lenna. He tilted his head and waited for her to come in. Hopefully she meant what she said about meaning no harm. But he was still on edge. If it did lead to violence, he would make sure to protect Maggie, even if it meant giving up his own life.
He blushed at the thought, and looked back at Maggie with a worried look on his face as he waited for the Lenna woman to come inside.
-
Lenna gave a closed-mouth smile, passing the boy and heading for the kitchen. It looked like the boy had managed to get the house cleaned up fairly well, meaning that he must have been staying there at least a while. The boy's scent was everywhere, while the girl's was fairly new, so she hadn't been here long. She saw all the food on the table and counters, and could smell more in the cupboards - it looked like he had been stealing it all. She sat down on one of the kitchen chairs with her back to a window, facing the two younger kids.
"I would like to appologize for my appearance; I know I am not a normal shifter, being an animal first that was given ability to be human. First thing, it would be nice to know both your names. Second, I need to know how long you have been in town. It is highly unusual for both Damien and myself to not notice someone." She looked expectantly at the young boy, scenting the nervousness coming in waves off the girl, and didn't want to put too much pressure on her.
-
"Tempting? I-I wasn't..." Reese didn't mean to, he was only trying to help. He shivered as her delicate hands held onto his face, staring into her bright eyes he could see the hunger in them. He hesitated, but then let his hands rest on her waist as she stood before him. In any other moment it would have seemed like she was going to kiss him. Then she leaned closer, his heart thumped, and her fangs sank into his neck.
Reese's eyes flashed open with the sharp pain as her teeth pierced her flesh. Instantly he felt himself getting weaker, it was a good thing he was on his knees. His hands started to get cold and shake before she finally puleld away, blood dripping down her face.
He fell back to his butt, his head spinning as the two little holes in his neck slowly dripped blood down his chest. He felt woozy, drunk almost, like that time he snuck a few of his dad's beers. He went to stand up. Bad idea. Falling back to his knees Rese shook his head and tried to get his eyes to focus.
-
Damien got downstairs just before Lenna. He watched her leave. He clapped his hands together. So. What do you want for dinner? He looked from Michael to Mary. Not that we have much. He smiled. What he was saying was true, they never had much food.
Others may find it odd, but Damien hated to steal. He only did when he absolutely had too. He usually earned money by doing random jobs in the closest towns. He also had a guitar that someone gave him two years back. He was a guy, sitting on a corner. He was playing his guitar and Damien took interest in it. The guy let him try it, and he did pretty good.
Soon after that, he found one himself, and got it. He had been playing ever since. He would go into the towns and play on the streets. He actually got quite a bit of money from it.
-
Maggie stepped closer to Tay as the woman started to enter the house. Again she felt herself wanting to cling to him. Stepping back she kept him between her and the woman named Lenna. At least she was nicer and calmer than the man that was here last time.
Her hands felt like they were on fire, not literally.... yet. But she was nervous. She hated being interrogated. It never ended well for her. She tried wiping the heat off on her tattered dress, better to burn it than more of Tay's house or other people. Maggie chewed on her lower lip as she looked around to see what exactly the two of them would say. This wasn't really her house. She didn't know if she had a right to speak or not.
-
Leann's eyes had finally faded back to a light red color as she looked down over at Reese. She wiped the blood from her mouth with the back of her hand, not wanting to get blood on Reese's shirt that she was still wearing. "I'm sorry, here let me help."
She leaned down, pressing one of her hands do Reese's neck. She leaned in, pressing her forehead to his. She closed her eyes and took a breath in. "Now, you might feel a little tugging inside, but don't fight it. I'm going to transfer some of my energy into you so you're not like this.." She bit her bottom lip and began to forge some of her energy into his body. Which is why they were touching foreheads. It was an easy transfer point. It would also heal the wound she had made on his neck.
Once she was done, she stood back up and looked down at him, tilting her head. She had a sad expression on her face. But it was unclear why. "You're feeling better, right?"
-
Michael smiled up at Lenna when she ruffled his hair. He looked over at Damien after his question. "Well, I thawed out some deer meat. I wish we had something different, but I hate killing the rabbits, so deer it is." He shrugged, setting the bowl of meat on the largest counter so that they had enough room to prepair it and anything else they would be making.
Mary walked over to Damien, pulling on his arm to make him bend down. She had a mischevious smirk on her face, though she hid it by looking at the floor.
-
Josephine just kind of sat there awkwardly. Had she been forgotten? She tilted her head as she watched the three of them in the kitchen. She bit onto he bottom lip, wondering if she should speak up or something. "Um.."
She decided finally that she would just be quiet. not like she had anything to talk about anyway. She just decided to shrink down as far as she could in the hoodie that she still had on from the time when Damien had given it to her to borrow.
-
"I've been living here for a while. My name is Tay, and this is Maggie.." He nodded his head over to Maggie. Not once taking his eyes off of the woman named Lenna. He wasn't abot to go telling this woman all about himself and the others. And if she expected him to, she was sadly mistaken.
-
Reese looked up at her, but it took his eyes a moment to focus. Leann came over, her face close to his once more. Cheeks flushing, Reese stared up at her eyes before she closed them. "o-okay." He said softly. It was an odd sensation feeling the tug of energy inside of him.
But soon enough she pulled away and asked if he was okay. Reese slowly pushed himself to his feet. He was exhausted, but at least he wasn't so dizzy or woozy anymore. "Yeah I'm fine."
He took a moment to get his balance and make sure he wasn't going to fall over or anything. Looking at her he quirked a brow seeing the sad look on her face. Something pulled in his chest. His heart thudded hard against his rib as he reached a hand out and gently hooked a finger under her chin. "Hey..." He said softly just before he leaned over, his lips landing lightly on her cheek just at the corner of her mouth. When he pulled away his face was an immense shade of red. "You are much prettier when you smile."
Letting her go he straightened up and scratched his head nervously. He couldn't even believe he had done that. Never in his life had he had the nerve to do that. "I uh... Sorry." He said suddenly fearing he had offended her. We can uh get to town..."
-
Lenna smiled sadly, seeing how Tay truly wasn't really trying to trust her. "I can smell the bear man's scent lingering here, so you don't have to hide him. I am truly here to do no harm. I live with my two charges who are 'bout your age. A witch and a wizard. Damien and the three of us have been living here longest, Damien longer. We take care of those here. You do not have to deal with him if you wish, you can talk with me. I may be a cat, but I don't bite puppies or flames." She grinned a bit, making sure to keep her fangs hidden so that he could tell she was only playing.
-
Her cheeks instantly turned a dark shade of red as she let him pull her face upward, only to find that he had kissed her cheek, dangerously close to her lips. She smiled shyly and looked away. It was pretty cheesy at what he had said to her, but that fact made her smile even more. "Its fine."
She giggled a little at how kind he was being to her. No one had ever really treated her that way. They always automatically thought of her as a nice piece of ass or a very mentally disturbed person. It was nice for once that she had met a man around her age that was nowhere close to being like the others.
She started to walk again, still looking at the floor, afraid of showing her blushing face. So of course, she kept her face hidden behind her long strawberry red hair. It was a good thing it was that color too, otherwise her red cheeks would have stood out compared to how pale her skin looked.
-
Maggie played with her hair as the woman spoke much more than Tay cared to. This woman talked so strangely. Maggie Looked at Tay and then back to Lenna. "They saved me." She finally said softly. "And Tay brought us here."
She swallowed hard, her hands seeming to grow hotter as she stood there. She didn't really know what to say to help but she didn't want Tay to get mad at her either. "He said it was safe for people like us here."
-
Reese kept walking with her, leading her back to town. Yet he still couldn't figure out what posessed him to kiss her. Now he just felt like a complete moron. She was probably going ot take off or think he was some psycho. He shook his head, he couldn't think like that.
"Town shouldn't too far off now. Just up ahead I think." he said softly, hanging his head a bit as he rubbed the back of his neck. Idiot. What were you thinking?
-
Okay. Eh, I don't really think rabbit is that good, but I already are anyways. He smiled. They would know exactly what he meant. He didn't usually like to eat around them, since it would probably look kind of odd. He wasn't quite sure what it looked like, but he assumed it would gross them out.
Then he was tugged down by Mary. Yes? He asked, seeing the look on her face. She tried to hide it, but he knew her a little too well. He wanted to know what she was going to say, since she always had something very interesting when she got that look.
-
"Ohh, okay." She smiled a little and looked up from the ground to see a bunch of trees still. but beyond those trees was supposed to be a town.
She looked back at Reese and blushed again. "Um, sorry about that..Be more careful next time..I can't always control myself like that.." She bit her bottom lip, it was true that she usually always lost control of herself every time she tasted human blood. But this time was a rare case. She almost felt proud of herself that she hadn't drained him completely.
-
"Yeah... Sorry about that." Reese hung his head a bit and ducked under a branch. "It come with being so tall. I tend to bump my head a lot." He glanced down at her. "I'll try to be more careful." He helped her over a fallen log and then smiled they were finally on the actual path that led into town.
"Well, there it is." Reese smiled, you could finally see the few flickering lights of Tay's house. "That's Tay's house so just past it are some other houses and probably the other people we've bumped into."
-
Leann's eyes widened a little as she saw lights from a house coming into her view. She then started to walk a little baster. Mainly because she was both excited and nervous. What it the people that lived there didn't want her there? She frowned a little, the only thing she could really do was hope that she'd be able to stay.
"Do you have a room there?" She was asking random questions about the house now. It had seemed like forever that she had been inside/seen and actual house up close. It looked really pretty to her.
-
Mary looked up at Damien, eyes sparkling with innocence that was obviously fake. She leaned close to his ear and whispered, "You know, you can leave the cooking to us and look after your new loooove interest by yourself." With that she giggled and ran over to her brother, who was pulling out vegetables to cook with the meat. She pulled out a big soup pot, setting it on the stove for her brother to deal with before grabbing a cutting board and a large knife to start chopping the vegetables.
-
Lenna smiled at Maggie. "It is safe for people like us. Normals never looks this deep into forests, and if they do, we know the area better than them, so we know how to defend it. We try to have everyone help out with cooking and getting all the houses cleaned up, but it has only been four of us for longest time, so it has been going slow. Plus-" She stopped, hearing something from outside.
Getting up and walking to the window, she opened it a crack to let the air in. Taking a deep breath, she smirked when she caught the scent of the bear shifter, along with a vampire she didn't know. She calmly walked back to her seat, sitting down and looking at Tay. "Might want to sit down, Cub. Your bear brought home a vampire."
-
Reese shrugged. "Kind of? I think?" He wasn't too sure. "Like I said I just got here... Tay offered Maggie and I a place to stay with him in his house. But im not really sure how much room he has. So, I might just fix up the place next door and stay there." He looked down at her. "It might sound weird but... Tay reminds me of my brother, I cant go too far."
Smiling he walked up to the door. "This is it." He knocked real quick. "Tay, Maggie, its me!" He announced before opening it up. "You'll never guess what happened while I was out there..."
Maggie watched the woman speak. Saying how they all helped one another. It sounded like a truly nice place, except for the face that Tay and this Damien guy didn't like one another. She chewed on her lower lip and looked over at Tay when Lenna said Reese was home and he had a vampire with him. She could only hope that it wasn't the same guy. "Tay..." She said softly. Reaching over she grabbed his hand and tried to gently tug him to a seat, but only if he wanted to. Then on cue she heard Reese at the door and behind him she saw a half naked woman.
-
Damien blushed at Mary's comment. Then he chuckled at how she said it. He had a feeling she would be quite a flirt when she got older. He kind of hated the fact that she could usually tell what he was feeling, but it helped him sometimes. She understood what he was feeling, since his feelings usually got jumbled up in his head.
He stood up. You sure you don't need help? He asked, somewhat hoping that she didn't, since he wanted to talk to Josephine. He also hoped she said she did because he was nervous. Yup. The great Damien Denro is nervous. The world has come to an end. He silently laughed at himself for acting so stupid.
Damien felt odd for a moment, like he sensed someone. Someone, like him. A vampire. He quickly shook the thought off. They weren't very common; the last time he met one was over a year ago.
-
"Ohh.." When Reese opened the door, Leann made sure to stay behind him a little. It was like she was a little child hiding behind someone for protection from something scary.
She peeked around Reese's arm and looked at the three people who were sitting there in the living room. Her eyes looked over the two females, and then stopped as she looked at the boy. Her who body stiffened as she stared at him. She did not know anything about werewolves, or if they even existed. But there was something about this boy that she didn't like.
She bit her bottom lip and looked away. She wasn't about to go fighting someone she didn't even know..
"Oi! Its about time you got back! Where tha hell'd you go anyway?" Tay decided that he wasn't going to talk to anyone but Reese for a while. Mainly because he was still worked up about the whole incident with that bastard vampire guy. He didn't want to go snapping on other people so he just figured he best way to do that was to just not talk to anyone. Except for Reese. It was kind of hard not to talk to the guy.
Tay's face turned bright red as he saw the other female. rue he could sense that she was a vampire too, but she was only wearing a shirt! He looked from the woman, to Reese, then back at the woman. "Why're you bringing a naked girl here?" He basically stuttered the words out, he forced himself to look away, blushing very hard. "Just, take her into the room on the left. I'm pretty sure there's pants and a shirt in there." He pointed down the hall, without looking at either of them.
