-A snub nose revolver (Ivory finish mind you.)
-Nail Polish (Lilac.)
-Great Voice (That's a skill, right?)
-Swift hands (… I mean he is crafty.)
As his fangirls know well, he is from an orphanage that caught ablaze, crawling to freedom. The lone boy survived the flames. Since a young ag... Bullshit.
Born to a poor family, Ai had dreams of being a doctor. He studied hard at home to try and get into Tokyo U but with trips to the UK to see his mother, partying with friends after gigs... He failed. He spent a few years on the construction site to pay the bills... His job was just labour, simple work for him to handle, back then he was not afraid to get his hands dirty or break a nail. A no one. Until he managed to land that record deal. The break he needed. His way out. No returning to his parents a failure like them. No working at the family restaurant. He was going to be big! He could buy them a nice house and Ai could live in luxury.
His father was the owner of a small bistro and a regular at a local gambling den. The seedy type with skinheads and suits. Ai made a friend there. Sure, the guy was Yakuza but he was a fan of Ai and loved his voice. Never hurts to have friends in the Yakuza right? Sure, this guy would kill him if told to, but he wouldn’t want to. It's the thought that counts.
He was ready to début. His album date was set... As the same day as the biggest band in Japan was scheduled to release their new album. All his work was going to fade to nothing. Deception was fairly unknown in comparison, sure they had a few local fans but how could they compete?
Ai became desperate, reaching out to the Yakuza. His friend in the Yakuza tried to talk him out of it, but Ai would not wait. Their time was now. 'If I have to kill you, sign a copy of your CD before I pop you.'
Ai knew this was risky. He knew he had no protection from the Yakuza. But he needed this.
A few major gigs later, a few cd's delayed. They made it big. Shame the debt he was it could cripple him, literally.
However between the poker table and his earnings, he got himself off the hook. If you learn cards with a bunch of cut-throat crooks, you soon learn how to cheat like a pro. Ai was known to have fairly sticky fingers anyway. Maybe all the nail polish. He paid his debt and lived free from the Yakuza for a good year and a half.
So things were going well for him... Until now.
