Her parents were musically inclined people and taught her how to play the instruments she can play today. Her mother's been teaching her piano since Piper was only 4. She started playing the drums by 6 under the wing of her father. When she mastered those by the age of 12 she learned guitar from her father and picked up bass guitar from her mother.
