Personality: John is a calm person. He seldom lose his temper or start arguing. He's not a person who avoids an argument however, instead he tries to turn the argument into a healthy discussion and come to mutual conclusion. His patience isn't endless though but when it is used up, he just leaves.
He is a man of few words and he doesn't speak in long lines or use complicated words. He's not stupid however, it's just who he is.

Likes: The sea, silence, slow music and closeness.
Dislikes: Loud music, heights and snakes.

Abilities:  John draw his magic power from three sources of power, water, earth and pure energy. This means his powers are bases upon one of these elements. He can cast bolts of ice, shake the earth and use spells that are not elementary based. His "spell book" is limited though as his powers are spread over several elements. He studies in the school of Restoration and Elementary Combat as and additional school. (Describe in detail, please.  If there is not enough information, you will be asked to add more.)

Weaknesses: He has to use a staff to cast spells. Without his staff he can only cast basic spells which often requires a regent or complicated hand movements.
He's also terrified of snakes. (All characters have weaknesses.  It can go hand-in-hand with your strength, or it can be something random.  Whatever it is, it has be be 'bad' enough that you could get seriously damaged or frightened.)

Weapon(s) of choice: Lightning Staff & Steel Dagger.

History:  John grew up as the youngest of three. His mother Laura and his father Steven were very caring and made sure all their children had a good childhood and grew up to good and responsible people. Even though John was youngest he wasn't spoiled as his father believed in good, old, hard work. His father was an ordinary human without any powers while his mother was a witch. She lacked however proper schooling as her parents had tried to ignore her abilities. John's older siblings are not magic wielders, leaving him as the only mage besides his mother in the family.

Although John childhood was safe and good it was brutally disrupted when his parents died. John's oldest brother was of age at the time and he tried for some time to take care of his siblings. But after some time the social services took them away. John ended up in a foster care where he felt uncomfortable. His foster parents was up tight and ignorant of most things in life. His foster siblings wasn't the nicest ones either. During this time John went into himself a great deal, something that still colors him. Thankfully however his older brother fought for care over him. His brother Mark couldn't take care of both his siblings and their sister had came to a good foster home. But Mark had to take care of him because of his abilities that would surface soon. There had already been signs, strange things happening around John and they both knew the foster parents wouldn't be able to accept it.

Mark had got a good work and they survived. John did his best to contribute to the economy aswell as balancing his studies, both in science and the arcane arts. The reason for his self study was that his mother had learned her powers by herself and passed that on to her youngest son.

A few years after Mark had saved John from the evil foster parents he came out as a gay man. His brother had been understanding, which john was grateful for. Before he came to the school however, he  haven't had a boyfriend, just done some testing.

When the enrollment to Occultia Academy, a school John didn't had any knowledge of priorly, he was rather uncertain to joining. He cared a great deal of his brother and his sister, the only family he had left, and was reculant to leaving them. His brother convinced him to leave for the school, promising he would be alright. Their parents had left a small heritage for them and part of it went to getting to school and material.
