Synopsis
The Knight of Time and one of the Ageless, she serves the High Queen while remaining loyal to The Holy Sisters.

Ira is a rather plain looking woman. She has dark brown hair that she generally wears pulled back in a simple braid. Her brown eyes are slightly too small for her face, her nose slightly too broad and her lips slightly too thin and wide. Her chestnut colored skin is freckled where it is tanned to a bronze color. Her build is muscular and fairly masculine for a woman. She stands at an average height. Her shoulders are fairly broad, but so are her hips. Her features do not come together in a flattering way. But, her appearance is unique, though not terribly memorable.

Ira is one of the Ageless, born on the Divine Day which is why she has no 12 year name. She looks to be about in her mid-20's but it is fairly common knowledge that she has been serving in the Black Dove Guard for at least as long as her apparent age. She tends to dress in simple attire, opting for skirts over pants and comfort over style. Despite being a knight, she rarely wears armor. But, then again, most people see her around town and not on the battle field. When going into battle, she wears a chain shirt with a leather and scale mail war skirt and large, clunky black steel boots. The combination is dreadful, but she seems comfortable in it. It is even more rare that she wears make-up as is fashionable in the cities. In fact, most fashion seems to elude Ira, something of a shortcoming in polite society- or any society.


Personality

Ira tends to be overly calm, some would even say dispassionate. Of course, those are the people who don't know her. She is actually friendly and passionate. To many of the Guard, she acts quite motherly. She is very caring and compassionate. For those she cares about, she will go to the ends Amb for them.

She is also a realist. She does what has to be done without flinching, something which has earned her a great amount of respect among her peers. She is not afraid of violence or bloodshed. In fact, she acts as the High Queen's Masked Death (High Executioner) as part of her duties.

She has a very self-deprecating sense of humor and enjoys a good joke. It is said that when the acting troop of Amber-Pastin put on the Satire Ira and her Kite, she and her fellow guard Kite were in the front row, laughing along with everyone else as they watched the play. She enjoys a good joke, a good fuck and a good drink as much as the next person, but she has trouble forming lasting romantic bonds with people. She fears the deeper connection because she knows that anyone she forms a romantic attachment with will one day die and she will live on.

  • Time Slow - This is the ability to slow down the time around you, thus allowing you to move at what seems like incredible speeds to everyone around.
  • Time Slip - The ability to travel no more than one minute into the past or 1 minute into the future.
  • Curse of Time - The ability to cause a non-living object to age into ruin

History
Ira was born on the Holy Isles to two of the Ageless. She is the first True Ageless born on record. It is generally something to be avoided and all Ageless on the Isles go out of their way to avoid conceiving children anywhere near the time that could result in one. She was only born as a True Ageless because she was born early. Her mother and father both serve the Second of the Holy Sisters, Bechira. Her mother, Shibbah Tina is considered to be one of the finest weavers on the isles. Her father, Moran Asos worked on the island as a simple herder. When Ira was born, Bechira came to oversee the birth- something unheard of even on the island. It was Bechira who gave Ira her 12 day name rather than her parents. As one of the Ageless, Ira does not have a 12 year name. As one of the True Ageless, she may live to receive one. On the Island, she was avoided by all the other children because she was seen as cursed.

She did, however, have one friend: Redsmith Chara Canta Floritti. Chara (as Ira knew her when they were young) was also born of two Ageless, but she was not born as an Ageless. However, it is common practice for those born of the Ageless to continue in service to the holy Sisters. Chara chose Ira as her 12 year friend, something which Ira is profoundly grateful for. She gave Chara the 12 year name Canta. The two remained close friends even when Chara went to serve Bechira as one of the inner circle. 

Under the advice of Bechira, Ira went on to train under the hand to hand master Neviah- the Third Holy Sister. She trained with her for 12 years. It was in her 12th year of training, that Ira finally beat her teacher. That was the day she was given The Quicksilver Whip by Neviah. It was also the day that she was sent to Princess Marchelle (the current High Queen) as a representative of the Holy Sisters as a guide for her on the pilgrimage. Ira led the Princess on her pilgrimage keeping them safe on the journey as she were not allowed their normal guard. The only person who can guide someone on the Holy Pilgrimage is a representative of the Holy Sisters. During the trip, she saved the lives of the future queen when an attempted kidnapping was made. Ira killed the would be villains. Because of this action, she was eventually named to the Queen's Black Dove Guard.

Ira has served  in the Black Dove guard for over 30 years. She started her career in the Black Dove as the trainer for all of the Gold Star Navy in hand to hand combat. It was here that she first met Magen Jacen Kite. After beating him soundly in training, the two became fast friends. Since this time, the pair have been nearly inseparable. Eventually, Kite was also named to the Black Dove guard after he was given the Steel Cape of Shan by Ira after she returned from Gildensol after being taken prisoner. For a long while, they shared an apartment in Amber-Pastine with their third cohort Hadden Farley Namis- or Faris. The three of them shared an apartment for many years. Faris was once the wielder of the Rainbow Rapier. It was rumored that the three of them were lovers, sharing everything together. When Faris died, it was rumored that he killed himself, though Ira and Kite never talk about it. Since then, Ira and Kite continue to share an apartment. It is unknown whether Ira and Jacen are lovers, but it is known that they are not married.
