As the land of Atamor shivers in the grip of an abnormal winter, people starve in their homes and a rogue seer vanishes into the snow with the blood of the high king on his hands. The seer must die, but first he must be found.......
The winter season is many weeks past, yet the snow still falls and the blizzard winds continue to howl. The farms can no longer be relied on to sustain the people and many have taken to crossing the seas to warmer lands, while those who remain on Atamor intensify their hunts as they struggle to feed themselves.
Among the jarls and chieftains, there is a hunt of a different kind. A rogue seer has assassinated the high king Jorgen who has left no heirs, thus a kingsmoot is called to choose the next ruler of Atamor.
An enormous bounty has been placed on the rogue's head, though his name is unknown, even to other seers. With his actions, those born with the seer sight, already highly mistrusted since time immemorial, now have two options. Seek the protection of their kind and hide, lest they be mistaken for the renegade, or become hunters themselves for it will take a seer to end a seer.

Background
The RP has a Nordic fantasy type of setting, but foreigners from different places and ways of life are welcome in the RP.
Atamor is a land of mountains, rivers, evergreens and especially ice and snow. The Atamori culture is ancient and thousands of years old. Much has been lost and forgotten throughout the ages, and there are still parts of the land that remain unmapped.
The people are of two general kinds. Grim and hard-bitten for those in the deep north where the ice is coldest and food can only ever be hunted, not grown. Those around the coasts to the south, where the heart of trade and civilization lies, are far more genial and open, but less so now since the winter has dragged on into spring with no end in sight.
Some fear that the hinterlands may one day freeze over completely until it looks like the deep north, and will no longer be able to bear any crops.
Magic is either to be feared yet respected, or hated outright in the land, depending on the people and particular location. It is essentially the ability to affect reality through the power of one's mind, but it is a highly individual thing. It is only through living and experimenting that one can learn what they can and can't do.
In Atamor, there are no formalized institutions for practitioners of magic. Runic priests once held major authority in the land, and still do in the deep north, but the traditional role of a clan shaman is now mostly regarded as a relic of the past. There are simply magic users and non-magic users.
However, there is one type of magic that has always been regarded as particularly special. The magic of the seer sight. Rare enough are those born with magic in their blood, but those born with the ability to see the future are marked as potentially calamitous beings for life, for those who can see the future are able to change it, and through their actions, perhaps change the world.
Over time, seers have found it necessary to band together and keep their visions strictly to themselves, and swear never to act on them. It is virtually an unspoken rule that should any individual discover their own ability to see into the future, they must go north and seek others of their kind, where they can live in protection away from lords who might abuse their power, or kill them in fear of it. Too many wars have been fought in the past over a seer's visions and the actions taken as a result.
Characters
Most of the information you'll need is already in the overview and background. The only other thing you need to know is that different races are allowed, you can make up whatever back story you like for your character if it's an outsider, but the Atamori are predominantly humans.
If you're interested in creating a character for this RP, lemme know and feel free to say hi in the ooc thread. I'll answer any questions you might have.
