This is fine, even if you pop by irregularly it's okay. We want to gather as many people as possible, mostly to bolster our own already elevated sense of self-importance. :D

I do enjoy a little slash now and then but my knowledge of anime/manga is limited. I'm a bit split about joining or not.

Is it strange of me to say that I'm not very interested in yuri? About all I like of it are little girl crushes like you see in (say) Card Captor Sakura where there is a little bit of that, but nothing "pervy" about it. Just... girl crushes. xD

Anything beyond that (and it doesn't necessarily have to be in pre-puberty age either, in case my reference to CCS confused the issue) and I'm like, "meh." The manga I've read in that direction always seemed uncomfortable and fake or just there would be something very seedy about it, even if it was about "mature" women and non-hentai stuff. There always seemed to be something mentally/emotionally "off" about the relationships. Unhealthy, I guess? (But I'll admit to not having read more than a dozen or so stories along the lines, having preferred the mentally and emotionally and unhealthy boy on boy relationships to the same in girls.)

EDITING TO ADD: I'd like to add, just in case, that I fully support lesbians as well as gays and bisexuals IRL. I've just never read anything where a girl/girl relationship seemed stable and healthy for both characters involved.

I've read nothing where I believed a lesbian relationship was portrayed well. Hell, media seems to have troubles capturing one lesbian character, let alone two. The videogame Clive Barker's Jericho is the only instance I've seen an openly lesbian character work.

And I've only found one roleplay partner even willing to do yuri. Our roleplay is filled with all sorts of homosexuality, and not just the woman kind. It's also filled with rather mature and diverse characters, which is also a rarity. So I found myself a catch! 8D

But I can totally understand your feelings, since I feel that way about heterosexual relationships. xDD~ And I know lots of people go "What? That doesn't make sense" and I know, I know. Logically it doesn't, but that's how I feel. I feel like women belong with each other and men belong with each other. There should be no crossover! Nyan. :3

This is true! Hollywood seems to have got male x male down pretty well, but not female x female. This adds to my problem because I've not even much fictional to fall back on.

I've only known one self-identified lesbian (and it was online, not IRL). And, uhm... she had a husband. xD He was apparently her 'exception'. This is something I've always found a little confusing, but I'm not going to tell her she's 'wrong' to self-identify however she chooses. :B

You should invite your group over so we can play with such great players too. xD (Not that I'm saying you should move your game over here, unless you want to, of course. But having good players to add to the group would be awesome!)

xD I have to agree that it doesn't make much sense, but I do sort of understand where you're coming from.

I don't now if this is relevant or not... but IRL (in my experience) female/female seems more accepted than male/male. I wonder why it's like that? An example that comes to mind is Mass Effect: Shepard. The male Shepard is straight while the female Shepard could both in ME1 (although that was an assari, a non-gendered/one-gendered race, but that race looks like females) and ME2 (Kelly the navigator) have female/female relationships.
Another exemple is the hetrosexual porn industry...

---------- Post added at 04:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:08 PM ----------

I don't know anyone that identifies himself/herself as homosexual or bisexual IRL. There're famous people that does but I don''t "know" them the same way.

Ohwait, I forgot about the best media lesbian representation; The Kids are Alright. That movie just feels so... honest to life.

Well, that's probably because sexuality is shades of gray, not black-and-white. I myself like both genders, but being with men makes me feel anxious in a bad way and shuts me down. Women relax me. xDD~ But I still usually end up having more-than-friends feelings for guys, though I'm not sure if this is because of their biology or because their personalities tend to harbour the combination of traits I like more than women do.

I've been trying to get my Gaia roleplay friends over here~ I'll keep 'pestering' them until they do~! ;D Though my username might be strange to them, since I'm usually Wiccacow. Hooray for witch-cows!

Female/female relationships is IRL are more openly accepted because men have more expectations put on them by society about what they should and shouldn't want. One reason, anyways.

Mass Effect made its sexualities choices based on the general heterosexual male population, probably to get sales. At the same time, they had fully intended Ashley and Kaiden to be able to be romanced by both genders. They probably decided not to, so they might avoid more controversy then what the female-human/asari relationships stirred up. Which is unfortunate, because Kaiden totally seems like he'd go for other dudes. xDDD~

...This has turned into a dicussion about sexuality and society.
    I like it~
But I'll talk more about yaoi media now. xD

I don't really enjoy manga or anime at all anymore, but when I did I really didn't like reading anything boy-boy simply because it was geared towards women, and thus created the seme-uke relationship thing, which made it seem like a man was whooing a mere boy.
I like my men to woo other men. Someone they could take on in a fight and not be sure of the outcome. xD Which is what i have in one of my more inactive roleplays, but those characters' relationship is such that if you took those personalities and stuck them in whatever combination of genders between the two of them, it would work. I adore them that much. <3

But despite what I've just said, I also like feminine-looking men too. Kinda the 'emo' 'scene kid' body type, you know? I just enjoy it more if two of these body types are together rather than one of these with the 'I'M HUGH JACKMAN AND I'M A MUTANT LUMBERJACK' type bodies.

Also, Wolverine x Cyclops, ftw. <3 I find gay relationships not endorsed by the original media more interesting than already-gay relationships. Sorry, Dumbledore.

    -----

I know people who identify themselves as 'gay, but with straight tendencies' and 'straight, but with gay tendencies'. I also know a girl who identifies herself as bisexual, which is true enough, but she's not bi-romantic: she'll have sex with women, no problem, but she only ever wants to be in relationships with guys.

They're women? :P Probaly. Straight guys likes women and two of them; great! Two women that do stuff with eachother? Awesome! But I've read that some women likes man/man. It's odd that that doesn't show more. But it's probaly beacuse the porn industry is mostly for straight guys (and gay men.)

Deep inside of the database for the game the audio files for Kaiden/male Shepard is hidden. They did record that dialog but the relationship didn't made it to the final cut. There's a video on Youtube where a guy/girl took those files and made that sex scene. It's not perfect but she/he did their best I'm sure. And then BioWare says Shepard is a pre-made (straight) character you just controls... (In contrast to the Dragon Age frachise.)

    I agree with you.
It's a bit of a sterotype (the male/"female" gay relationship) Sadly it's also a version the gay world has (bear/twink, College jock/nerdy emo guy).
Anyway... just want to say one thing... Brokeback Mountain.

People likes differnt things. However I've to admit that (although I think boy/man is a bit off) I do like a muscular guy and a not so muscular guy getting it on. Just as long as they don't overdo it (or it goes strange/odd).
(We can agree to diagree on some points.)

Or Nick Stokes/Greg Sanders... what? I think they got great chemistry! and looks good.

Btw IRL I identfy myself as bisexual as I both like males and females. But when I get older that might change.

On the internet, there's lots of a women who like man-on-man action, though for the most part only with fictional men or asian men. xD~ Not to be stereotypical of the yaoi community, but it's true. But that is true, the porn industry being geared towards men I mean. But more gay characters are appearing in tv shows, so that's a start.

Yeah, but that's only if you have the PC version or hack your Xbox, which I won't do. I'm fine with just the blue womens swinging both ways, though the hints that Jack lays down about possibily liking women drive me mad. I would have killed to be able to romance her as a woman! But the second Dragon Age has gone more the route of Mass Effect, with the sort of pre-made character thing going on, though it's still a bit more free being Hawke than Shepard. But I like Mass Effect so much more <3

    Brokeback Mountain.
is the movie I associate Heath Ledger with, instead of The Dark Knight like everyone else. And I don't find him attractive. At all. Jake Gyllenhaal, on the other hand... Though I have to say one of my favourite canon 'gay relationships' is the one found in Breakfast on Pluto. Even if one of the characters is a transvestite.

I do like a muscular guy and a not so muscular guy getting it on. Just as long as they don't overdo it (or it goes strange/odd).

It's mostly the overdoing it I have in my mind when I say I don't like it. I don't really like muscular to begin with. Toned, on the other hand...

Or Nick Stokes/Greg Sanders... what? I think they got great chemistry! and looks good.

Or Kent Castle and Kable, or Kable and Simon! (from the movie Gamer) <33

I currently identify as homosexual, 'cause I'm really, really not interested in dating guys anymore. Even if I get feelings for them. I just don't think I could survive a true relationship with one. I don't put a lot of focus on my so-called love life, so I pretty much just expect to have lots of bromances. Even if I'm not a bro. xDD

Even if you find the files or hack it'll only be audio though. No idea really in doing it.

It's sad that DA2 was so rushed. They spent 4 years on DA:Orgins and only one (1) year on DA2. I guess they went the ME way to have a fully voiced character. Many people has been annoyed with the game.

I haven't seen many movies with either of them. Heath look(ed) good but Jake is much more attractive (I think). There're people who think(thought) Heath look(ed) good. R.I.P Heath Ledger.
I used and still does RP as Jack Twist. Don't got an Ennis though so it isn't much fun.

I was a bit unclear I think. There're differnt types of muscular people (in my head). Some bodybuilders, some well trained and some just slightly muscular. I do not like the bodybuilder type. It's too much I think. The other versions are more in my taste though.

I have no opinion of the games, since I haven't actually sat down and played them. I played the DA2 demo, loved the characters, but had troubles playing it as anything other than a mage, even though I'm usually a rogue in fantasy RPG games. I know I'll always like ME better than DA, though, by virtue of science-fiction.

Heath look(ed) good but Jake is much more attractive (I think). There're people who think(thought) Heath look(ed) good.

Jake is better, all the way. I can see why people find Heath attractive, but I only thought so when he was younger. His facial structure just does not agree with me.

I'm not even thinking bodybuilder and/or the Governator when I say 'muscular'. I'm thinking of Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black and I still disagree with that.
I don't know. I just don't like wide, even if it's a healthy wide. Long and lanky. With muscles.
I'm so peticular about my men, but so lenient with my women. Geez.

Having gay relatives helps. xD~ I'll probably meet even more where I'm going to school, since the province I'l be living in is the cultural capital of Canada. :3. Not officially or anything from what I know, but unofficially.
I'll certainly have plenty of opprotunities to oogle some asians this summer, anyways. <3 I love both west and east asians <3

    Agreed~

I live in a town with a population of 1000, but went to school in the next town over, where the high shool has about 700 kids. And I have at least two gay relatives, maybe three at least. and then lots of aunts who keep saying they should go gay because they're tired of men. xDDD~

BUT I say we should keep listing non-canonical gay pairings that would be EPIC. 'cause it's fun~
Like House and Wilson (from the show House, of course~). It's just so much a bromance it's almost gay. xD~ And Hugh Laurie, the actor who plays House, said he'd be up for the gay relationship, though I doubt the actor for Wilson would be gay for pay. xDD
and another one, umm... Tony and Leroy (NCIS)~!

I have the perfect example of men wooing men for you, any one mind a youtube link? They are both males I think are good looking (angular jaw lines, not overly muscled, etc) and the kiss leads into a fight scene in bar with umm flames, lol.

My own sexuality is a big question mark, but then I don't have time for relationships rl side atm, so I can happily enjoy the forms of both genders from a distance ;p.

In SG1, honestly just about any of the male pairings are awesome but Teal'c/Daniel Jackson just sends me into bouts of giggles. I imagine a scene like this-

Daniel- Are you certain this is how things are done amongst your people?
    Teal'c- *eye brow quirked* Indeed...

Gosh I think both of these guys are so awesome! though I personally see 'john' more as 'spike' >.< (you'll know when you see it

F-yes. 8D Though I much, much prefer Richard Dean Anderson as O'Neill than Kurt Russel.
But Jack O'Neil // Skaara for the movie too~

    Duuuude. I want this.

Haha~ That's how I was for years. I'm kinda at that point now where I want to find myself a girl and form a relationship with, even if it doesn't work out. It'll at least tide me over for years to come~ But it's hard to find anyone when you're so straight-edge and a homebody like me, let alone someone of your own gender. But I'll be living near my gay cousin soon, so maybe he can hook me up xDD

    ....FFFFFFFF-

    Ffffff-

My otp for Stargate has to be Teal'c and Jonas Quinn, though. You watch the episode Changeling and I'll know you'l agree.
    I think it's changing, anyways.
Jonas is all "i neeeeeed you teal'c D8"
I love Jonas. Even if he was only there for one season and most don't know whoI'm talking about when I mention him </3
