Introduction

"Please... I request your attention..." You hear a faint female voice, echoing and mumbling through your ears "Don't panic..." Along with that voice, you hear other noises, screams, cries, the sound of a desperate crowd, rumbling their way to their desire. These sounds slowly pull you from your state of chock. You listen another sound. Unlike any of the ones that populate the crowded space. A heavy thump, smothered by the thick walls, accompanied by a rumble in the ground. The sounds of people return, this time stronger. You feel a strong push, and you're thrown to the ground. You feel intense pain all over your body, as the stampede of people runs over you. Slowly you get up, getting constantly pushed and being carried away by the flow of people. Suddenly you feel panic as well, joining the other ones in a symphony of screams, panic and pain. You hear that female voice again, overlapping the sounds of misery. "Please, don't panic. Please don't panic. Please don't..." The voice keeps repeating the same message, like a broken record. You turn your head and see an static filled image on the wall, demonstrating a shaky image of a large, faint figure, broken in two, flames and smoke surrounding it. You recognize it has being one of the Atlas, the ships that should carry you to safety. "God... you mumble. The camera image quickly changes to a street, after shaky images of ground. You see in them several spots in the sky, cruising it quickly, dropping shards and points of black. A wave of fire appears from the bottom of the street, replaced completely by static after wards. It's the second Atlas to go down. But there's still one left. The you're boarding. Before you can realize, you find yourself in a chamber crammed with people. You look up and you see a huge figure, casting a shadow over Earth, coming closer to you. You look down, through a small window on the floor, and you see a huge, black sphere, tainted with grey clouds and red bursts blinking all across it. Earth.
With a jolt, the chamber stops and the doors open, spilling the people inside. Then you step a foot outside the chamber. You feel a cocktail of pride and sadness as you walk into Atlas, the Greek titan that would carry the world on it's back.

Somewhere in Sector 50:
5:46 a.m (Earth standards)

The captain naps on his chair quietly. The rest of the cockpit, a big complex room, filled with paper thin screens, that appear to be floating in the air, seems empty, yet filled with silence. A very large screen, occupying the entire front wall of the room, working has a digital windshield. Without any surprise, it shows a deep-black background sprinkled with white dots. The captains chair wobbles lazily side to side. His head leaning forward and his hands on his lap. A lone alarm starts buzzing, and a red light blinks from somewhere. Only after a while someone notices it. The room suddenly springs back to life. Sleepy workers are rudely awaken all over the room, what seemed completely deserted, was actually packed with workers. The captain jumps of his chair, and fully awake asks "What was that?" Still a little a sleep, the workmen don't answer right away "I asked: WHAT THE BLOODY HELL WAS THAT?!" he yells, impatient.
"Humm... hmm... Near object to the ship, potential collision in... 35 minutes..." One of the trainees finally answers.
"How big?" The captain shouts back.
"About... 10 meters!"
"Wait, there's another one! Hold on... I see other, strange, they're exactly the same size" The trainee looks astonished to the screen "Sir... They're changing course... Drastically, it's speeding! Oh god! It's gonna hit the ship!"
"Give me all cameras near the impact spots" after a while, a bunch of black squares appear over the big screen, following for images of different parts of the ship.
"what is that?" they squint at the images of a blue, shady blob, crossing the sight field of the camera, swirling to the ship. The cockpit trembles.
"Losing energy to engines 1, 2... All engines lost!" One shouts.
"Energy blackout on living quarters, engineering, armory... Everywhere!" After a stronger shake all lights go out.
"Sir..." His voice is interrupted when they're all thrown down by a violent shake.
