In the first age, humans roam the wide open plains in close knit tribes. Every youth must prove their right to survive as they come of age by completing some great task. Some years it is a great hunt, others it is to travel the wild for a month. This year, the elder has placed a new challenge, to find out what has caused the spirits of the wild to suddenly go silent. For without them to guide your people, the end may very well be near at hand.......
Recently the Rhozoc tribe has issued
new coming of age challenge. The youths of many of the nearby tribes
have gathered in the camp of the Rhozoc to learn of this new task..
The Rhozoc elder who is charge of communing with the Spirits of the
wild has been unable to contact many of the those whom he normally
has a good relationship with. With each passing day more and more of
the spirits have disappeared and the elder is now asking for help in
finding out what is happening.
Rules
I will most likely be creating NPCs
that are open to all people for interaction and control. So feel free
to use those to do your own roleplaying if no one else is around or
if there is some character development stuff you want to get out of
the way.
Otherwise, just try not to kill other peoples'
characters needlessly. If you come to an agreement with them that is
fine, but don't just go on a killing rampage or something.
and
have some fun.
Background
In the first age there are many tribes
each with their own ideals, customs, and they are all uniquely known
for skills which they hold in highest regard. The Rhozoc tribe in
particular are known for their understanding of the Spirits and the
mystic arts. They train many priests and elders who eventually are
invited to other tribes for their skill in healing and protection
against the more dangerous spirits of the wild. Of course the Rhozoc
have their hunters and warriors, as well as crafters and gatherers.
This is how many of the allied tribes work, they work together to
keep themselves safe and use their diversity in skill and training to
make themselves safe.
There are other tribes out there that do
not see eye to eye with the allied tribes. They raid and pillage the
weaker outliers, and amass strength through militant power alone.
Stealing children at a young age to make them into savage warriors to
fight against the stronger tribes. These tribes will do anything to
survive and gain more power, and are a constant threat when out and
about in the world.
There is no learned magic in this world,
but for some who have a close connection with the spirits it is
possible to manifest miracles beyond which normal humans can do. This
can be quite tasking on the priest who preforms the miracle and it
depends on the ability to contact the correct spirit as well as
knowing how to gain the spirits favor. These are all skills which are
most often taught to young men and women of the Rhozoc tribe, though
it is possible for even the most dull of people to perform a miracle
if the spirit wishes to lend them power.
Characters
Much of creating a character will be
about defining where your character comes from. Feel free to create
your own tribe and explain what skills they may hold in high regard.
If you wish you can also use an already defined tribe for your
character. (I will be defining more myself if they are not done by
the players.)
You should also give a little history about your
character as well as some description of what they look like. Most
characters should be between 15 and 17 years in age as they are young
men and women who are entering their coming of age. Though it is
possible for younger or older characters to be introduced if you join
later or you can give a compelling reason why they have chosen this
time in their life to join the challenge.
Remember that more
description and back story is not a bad thing, but if you are going
to paragraphs of information on your character please organize it in
an easy to reference manner so that details can be found as needed.
