    Technology Today

It's been 5 years since the ending of The Coming Darkness, and a lot has happened tech wise. Cities all across the globe have adopted to using technology over magic, and it wasn't long before magic itself was banned globally due to the simple fact that it could not be contained.

You may wonder 'what kind of technology are we talking about?' It has jumped nearly 100 years into the future with the help of magic. The police departments in cities and small towns are aided by Aerial-bots, small, cube shaped cameras that are remote controlled, and hover down streets, assisting in recon, propaganda, and other means. Most cities are aided by an Overseer, an artificial intelligence that controls nearly all of the city's functions, that includes Cable, Electricity, Banks, Police Departments [This varies across towns.], Cell phone towers, and the like.

An in-depth view at most of the technology will be uploaded soon.

    The War

Commonly referred to as 'The Great War', this struggle is held by all countries, all territories, and all settlements. Who's in this war? The Royal Confederacy itself against the cultist Magicians, Brotherhood of Magic , who have taken control of the Black Market. Criminals use Magic, as it is limitless, to not only harm innocent people, but to attack and siege cities in order to give back magic to it's citizens.

    Roleplay How-To

So you've got a basic understanding of what the situation is, but, the question is now: 'How do you deal with it?' The answer is simple. When you arrive, be sure to include your view on the Great War. Who do you support? Who are you with? Though, Being a cultist would severely cost you, and you'd wind up being executed.

    The Battle System

Like some roleplays, with every battle, there is the silent guarantee that the good guys will win. Not in this roleplay. The outcome of both a battle AND the plot, depends entirely on the players. You should be careful with what you do within this roleplay.

Fighting should be as short and detailed as possible. Grammar does not have to be in full effect, but the main point must get across. It doesn't matter if you can use fancy words or not.

Let's talk about the does and don'ts of fighting in The Coming Darkness 2.
One thing we do not tolerate is auto-hitting, or basically saying that your character's attack had successfully hit. Of course, if you're fighting another player, it'll be difficult. Nobody wants their character to lose, or worse, die.

Here is a crude example of how fighting is to play out:

Bob charged in close, pulling back his fist like a hammer on a gun. Jim's hands were already resting behind his back, so a punch to the stomach seemed easy.

Unfortunately for Jim, he wasn't prepared for the sudden charge Bob made, so he was caught off guard, and punched straight in the stomach. His body jolted over with the feeling that his gut was going to explode.

Here, we can obviously see that Jim has the disadvantage with this fight. With common sense, we know that nobody could pull off an attack just after getting hit in the stomach, unless they're bulky.

    Here is what usually happens:

Jim was instantly hit the stomach, but quickly returned with a counter punch using his left arm to the side.

I know what you're thinking. Small post, but that isn't the point here. Every other player can call bullshit when they imagine this fight in their heads. If Bob was a known heavy hitter, and Jim had a slim figure, there would be no way he could recover from it in one post.

Now, if the two of them were equally buff, (and I mean strong men, y'all) Then it would make more sense that he recovered in the same post. Use logic.

Dodging works in a similar way. If a character is known or figured to be nimble, it's sensible if they dodge a lot, but again, logic comes into play. They cannot dodge in the air or any other way that would otherwise break physics or break their bones.
If you (and others) feel as if the attack could have been dodged, do so. Let's use Bob and Jim again. If Jim was in good position, meaning that, the fight had started off built up tension, and it was obvious there was going to be one, Jim could dodge. Why? Because he was expecting it.

No character can always keep their guard up, so a surprise attack is most likely a hit, unless they could hear it or was suspicious.

In the end of every battle, remember that a character cannot be killed unless agreed upon, and that you cannot win every fight. So do not be ashamed if you get your ass handed to you. It happens.
