Manilla's blank eyes noted yet another male walking towards them. Ah, just another human.

She let Angelo do all the talking. He seemed to be a people person- or at less t he was better at interacting with others than she was.

  2. Characters in this post:
Turning to follow the eyes of the other man, Acies would pass his eyes briefly on the silent young woman before reaching the disaster that remained behind him. "Yes, these ruins are Sorcerer... well, supposed to be anyway. My information might be off, it's been five years since I left." He'd let out with a light cough which his fist barely contained in time. Was he catching a cold as well? That would be the day. "Well, thanks for the info at any rate and..." Just as he was about to ask another favor, his stomach growled violently and Acies felt a sharp pain jab into his stomach, his body lightly arching forward in reaction. "I realize I'm asking a lot of you from a first encounter... but you wouldn't happen to have any food, would you? I can pay." He'd let out, his eyes setting into Angelo's. Despite his currently dreadful state, he had an almost palpable conviction in his gaze and voice.

  3. Characters in this post:
"Food?" That reminded Angelo that he hasn't eaten in a couple of days, he was wondering how his body was managing itself for so long without fault. Perhaps it was his Soulless body? He didn't entirely know. But feeling some remorse for the starving traveler he wanted to help him in his plight though had no food or money of his own. He curved the side of his lip thinking what he could possible do. "Heh.. I haven't eaten in a few days myself... If I had some food I'd willingly hand it over, my body doesn't prove to need nourishment as often. Dunno what to tell you all the way out here... Though, if you were able to get to the mainland, I could help. On my way here there was a airport that takes you to this side of the continent. Maybe I could escort you there."

  4. Characters in this post:
The book's cover held back the light shining from the first page. When the light caught Felix's eye, it began to work. The light itself was magic. It started changing Felix through his eyes, alternating and reforming his blood in a quick fashion.

The truth was, magicians had several special bloodlines that had allowed them to be compatible with magic. What the book was doing was making his own blood compatible along with giving him spells of his own. At this time, his metal magic detector would most likely blow a fuse in his brain with all the magic being transferred. A low mechanical hum was going through the room. The windows in the office vibrated and busted, but it felt nothing like an earthquake.

The vibrating would get more intense the longer this transfer went on. It wouldn't matter if Felix closed the book now. The longer he held it open, the stronger he became.

  5. Characters in this post:
"Get to the continent?" A groan escaped the lips of the weary traveler. With his physical strength that would only take 3 hours of rowing, but he had terrible geographical skills and could end up taking a whole day before reaching it. Although if they accepted to come along with him, that would be a relatively easy task. "I have a small row boat... archaic, I know but it was all I could find. I could get you to the continent and pay you a meal in exchange for directions there. Sound fair?" He offered. He had the means to obtain food, but there was so much you could put on a row boat and he had been paddling for the last nine days. He didn't really pay attention to the young woman who had opted to keep silent, were it for normal circumstances he probably would not have approached them to begin with, but he was in danger of starving.

  6. Characters in this post:
Felix's eyes shot wide open and try as he might he could not pull himself away from the book. His head pounded as the magic detector that was implanted in his brain cease to function and broke, causing him to have a smokey metallic taste in his mouth. He couldn't speak, he couldn't move, the book had a hold over his body and wouldn't let go. It was impossible for him to call out to his guards, the most he could muster under the sheer strength of the magic were a few muffled grunts. He could feel his body change on molecular level, though the experience wasn't painful overall it was uncomfortable, something like a pins and needles effect working from the inside out. "What is happening?!" He yelled inside his own mind.

Marcus grasped the boy's hand softly and escorted him down off the table and to the sofa, sitting him down. "You're just a kid. How did you get here? Do you know who we are?" He hesitated to ask the next question, "Where are your parents?"

  7. Characters in this post:
Angelo looked towards the direction of where he believed Sky was and to the Airport. He started coming down to his decision of what he should do. He knew he could find Sky once against by tracking down his flame, but he couldn't turn down a starving man. Angelo again shook his head at Acies mentioning pay. "Don't worry about paying me. Save your money for your food. I have an idea that could get us to the mainland even faster, with your rowboat too." One of the perks of being a Soulless; Flame Propulsion.

It was the sound of talking, that awoke Faye. Her eyes slowly opened, looking confused and a little lost. She was trying to figure out where she was. It took a while, but she soon recalled where she was. As well as how tired her body felt. Her whole form hurt all over, as well as was tired as heck. Making a face, she shifted a bit up on the bed she ended up falling on and sleeping. With hooded eyes, she looked over at where the voices were coming from. There was Argo, Enzo, and Voli. As well as a unknown female she didn't know right off the bat. Blinking ever so slowly, she stared at the small group, as Argo and the rest talked. She could tell, that there was some anger coming off of Voli at the moment, as he wouldn't look at Argo. What the heck had happened.

Shifting out of the bed, Faye soon started to pad her way over in barefeet. As it was, she was still in just only her baggy jacket. Nothing at all on under it much. This time though, her hood was up on her head, as she walked over towards Voli. She ended up padding silently behind him, as she stared at his back for the longest time.

Suddenly, Faye reached out to jerk on the back of his shirt. Getting his attention, before she reached out to latch onto his arm. Eyes closed, the small female was soon leaning against him as she still felt tired. She didn't say anything. Just stood there, attached to the larger male. Even in her tired state, it was clear that Faye only wanted to be around the red eye guy in the room at the moment. Not even willing to look at the others as she felt her mind drifting off once more. Damn, she sure used up enough of HER energy last night.

The boy huffed when Marcus referred to him as a 'kid'. He looked to himself as an inspiring adventurer. The next thing coming out of the man's mouth was about his parents. "It's none of your concern, and I am not a little kid." He spoke with pride. "I just need some food and i'll be on my way. It isn't safe here anyway."

The strange book's power continued to intensify. Then, it shut off. The light coming from the book was sucked back in and the book shut closed. Felix would feel rested and energetic, as if he had a good night's sleep. This was the magical presence inside him. Naturally, it would have taken time for his magic to grow, but because of the book, it was 'matured' instantly.

  10. Characters in this post:
They were talking about food of some sort. Manilla didn't particularly pay attention. Like sleep, food was not a necessity for her, as her body stopped aging at the normal pace, and needing nutrients to survive. This was why Manilla looked around the age of sixteen instead of eighteen.

"If you want food..." she said, "Let's go already..."

  11. Characters in this post:
He looked a bit confused at first, the way the boy spoke was much more adult than he had led himself to believe. Marcus was however thrown off by the next statement "...it isn't safe here anyway." "What do you mean it isn't safe? Is there someone after you?" There were serious tones of worry in his voice. Rural Russia was his idea of safety, a place set aside from the technological prowess of the rest of the world. To hear that something compromised the security of it all, was frankly alarming.

Felix slumped back in to his chair. The weight of him collapsing into it caused it spin so that he faced the window, which had a hair line crack from the vibrations earlier. Though he was invigorated with energy, he was still getting over the initial shock of what happened. What had the book done to him? He felt so different, so alive and renewed. As he looked down at his hands, only to see that they remained the same, he heard the door clack open and two guards stepped in. "Sir! Are you alright?" Felix spun his chair to face them and a wide smile appeared on his face. "Everything is fine, boys. Just cooling vent malfunctioned is all, which would account for the rumbling you felt earlier. Don't worry though, I have it fixed now. Return to your positions, thank you." The two security officers looked at each other with puzzled expressions before leaving the room.

After things had settled down and the personnel returned to their posts, Felix jumped up from his desk and grabbed the book. But he was soon met with a failed attempt at reading the arcane language. "I'll have to call up that Jacen fellow, he should know how to read this thing." Though questions still ran rampart through his mind, the overwhelming energy distracted him. He tossed the book aside and it landed open faced onto a shelf. "You know, I think I will go for a walk." He said grabbing his cane and overcoat. And so, he headed out into the streets of Tokyo to release some of the pent of energy.

  12. Characters in this post:
Volitaire felt his shirt being tugged then his arm being enveloped. He made a little sound in response and looked down to his arm to find Faye wrapping her arms around him. He grinned seeing that she had finally woken up, she must have been quite tired to sleep through most of the talking and Volitaire's yelling. He saw her hood was up concealing most of her features. He also noticed she wasn't really talking too much, he figured the girl may have just been tired. He was about to turn attention to the other when he felt her small head resting on his bicep causing his face to flush slightly. Looking down to her from the corner of his eye he wondered what was making her so clingy to him this morning... She didn't act this close to him before.

One the outside, Angelo was walking towards the school assuming that's where Acies had arrived from. As Manilla suggested they should move now. The two paced over to Sorcerers hoping Acies would follow as they slowly arrived to the rusted campus gates. The once prominent academy now reduced to nothing but ruin. He studied the rubble and weed from all over wondering what exactly happened during that climactic battle. He turned over to Acies, "So Acies, where's you boat? We gotta hurry over."

  13. Characters in this post:
The boy's head was moving all over the place, as if he was starting to get claustrophobic. "Those people. The brotherhood - they started trying to kill me when they thought I was an impostor." The boy stood up from the sofa, and began peeking through the house curtains, checking the perimeter. After the final window was checked, he looked over to Marcus. "I'm sorry to have caused you grief. I'm going to take this food and run for it. I will find a way to repay you back."

The sound of a new voice caught both the attention of the Italian and the Soulless. Argo was shocked, to say the least. "That's the kid who attacked us, ain't it!? As predicted, he wanted to hide behind Enzo, but also didn't want to show it, either. Enzo paid no mind to it. He was calm compared to Argo. All the while, Juro kept a confident face. "What are you doing here? How'd you find this place?" "Someone's bad at covering their tracks. especially if it's tire tracks. I'm here because I wanted to apologize."

Enzo was interested now. During their quick sparring, Juro had mentioned if he was working with someone. "For what?" "Attacking you. Delaying whatever you were doing. I realized you're a Guardian." Juro glanced down at Enzo's ring, which by now, his arm up to the elbow was covered in black text. "I'll need to chat with you about that later, but the reason i'm here is to help you. We may be fighting against the same person here. Those soldiers attacked you too." "So do you have internet or something? Are you some kind of walking wifi hot spot?" "No, but I can take you to one. It's safe."

Argo looked to Enzo, expecting him to be the deciding vote, since nobody else had said anything yet. There was a pause before he spoke again. "Where's this hot spot of yours?" "In Tokyo. I'll take us there." Juro turned to leave, but Argo spoke up once more. "Wait, we don't have enough room for all these people, man..." He chuckled a little at the thought of everyone trying to make a clown car out of Enzo's Audi. Juro's eyes snapped to Argo, then everyone else. "I have a jet." With that, he walked off towards the exit.

  14. Characters in this post:
Volitaire kept quiet and watched the three talk. He remembered Juro from their exchange at Castle Aurora but had no real idea what his purpose was. He wasn't too surprised that his bunker was found. Tire tracks, a parked car, the hatch was out in the open. Volitaire didn't bother with covering his tracks in the rush to get Argo and Enzo to safety and to receive medical attention. The young boy mentioned a hot spot for some secured internet; he was glad that they could leave off on better conditions now. In the back of his mind he was skeptical to where Juro planned to take the group but if they shared the same enemy it brought some trust for Volitaire to fall back on. Enzo already spoke so he felt no need to really open his mouth for rebuttal. With Enzo and Juro's exchange done with Juro had walked towards the exit. "You sure about this, Enzo? We don't even know who he is... But, we do have a similar enemy. So he claims. You think we can trust him?" He turned to Enzo awaiting an answer.

  15. Characters in this post:
Silver's eyes moved towards the new boy in the room, who seemed to be hiding behind Enzo. She wondered how many new people had joined them since she left, but the thought vanished when the boy apologized for attacking them. She raised her eyebrow at him, almost glaring as she remained silent while he and Enzo spoke. She felt another presence enter the room, and turned to see that smaller girl leaning against Volitaire, wearing, well, not as much clothing as everyone else. She looked the girl up and down, since she was clearly exhausted, and looked back to Volitaire, who was looking at the girl as well, and blushing. She raised both eyebrows at him, giving him a suspicious look. They would definitely need to catch up more later. The thought of Volitaire's romantic life brought up the memory of Sasha, and she turned back to Enzo, wondering about it. Now wasn't the time to ask, no, but she would definitely be interrogating the two boys later. Volitaire questioned Enzo's trust for the new boy, and Silver nodded slowly. But, they were in a bind at this point. "Do we really have a choice?" she asked Enzo and Volitaire.

  16. Characters in this post:
"If he betrays us in any way... Well..." It didn't take many words to understand what would happen. They were Guardians. Unstoppable. "Oh, that's a nice thought, ain't it?" Argo muttered. "I'm going with that kid. Silver, Faye, I don't think you two should involve yourselves in this."

  17. Characters in this post:
Silver looked at Enzo, her eyes widening a bit. She didn't know about the other girl who was apparently named Faye, but she knew she could take whatever on. "Excuse me? Why the hell not? I'm just as strong as you, Enzo. You ought to know that more than anyone!" She crossed her arms, glaring at him for even suggesting she stay behind. "I'm coming with you, and that's that. If Enzo trusts the kid, then I do too." She huffed lightly, blowing some hair out of her face as she looked away. She didn't come all this way just to watch them leave again.

  18. Characters in this post:
Enzo blinked. A blank expression on his face as he stared at Silver. Then, he burst out laughing like he always did 5 years ago. "PFFF-HAHAHAHAHA! EHAHAHAHAahahaohoho, Oooh man~"
He finally stopped, then spoke again once his sides weren't being crushed by laughter. "Remind me to test that theory later on."

  19. Characters in this post:
Volitaire chuckled at Enzo's burst of laughter. It was good to see the competitive spirit between the two was still there. Though he hoped it didn't turn into a cataclysmic explosion in the bunker. He wasn't even sure if the simulation rooms could hold destructive power at Enzo's level now. He just shook his head and tugged his arm at Faye and looked down to her. "Enzo's right... It's not that you're weak, we just don't want you getting in more trouble than you need to. And Silver you have a family to think about. What we're up against may turn into something worse than Darkness. He was something we all were prepared for... This is different. You have a husband and child to get home to. I wouldn't my nephew without his mother now." He pleaded.

  20. Characters in this post:
Silver glared at Enzo as he laughed, ready to smack him upside the head at any moment. That's when Volitaire supported him. She blushed a little at the thought of her family, and pouted. "You don't need to worry about that. I mean it when I say I'm helping you, guys. I don't care what you say." Silver wasn't budging. She was a guardian, too, and this required a guardian's help. From the sound of it, they needed as much help as they could get. That's why she was here.

  21. Characters in this post:
He lightly grabbed Raen's shoulder to stop him from moving. "Brotherhood, what are you talking about? Imposter? I'm sorry I'm a bit lost here. If there's something you're not telling me, I'd really like to know." His tone was becoming a bit more frustrated as fear and confusion started to kick in. Marcus looked to Dora then back at the boy, "Also, as far as the food goes. You're going to have to ask this lovely lady. This isn't my place."

By the time he had returned back to his away-home, the copious amount of energy had finally ran its course in Felix's body, but the uncomfortable tingle was still there. As he sat down on his bed and began to undress, Jacen's business card had fallen out of his pocket. He looked it over for a few moments. "That book, I'm sure he can assist me in figuring out what it did to me, and its overall purpose. As much as I don't want to work along side a magician, he is the only resource I have." Felix pulled out his cell phone from his coat pocket and dialed the number provided on the card. It started to ring.

Raen started to panic when Marcus held him still. He demanded answers, but Raen already knew he wouldn't have to if he stayed there. Just then, fierce and numerous magical presences could be felt closing in. "Oh, no! No no no!" He shook free of the man's grasp, and looked up to him with slight puppy eyes. "You have to hide me. Somewhere. Anywhere away from them. They're hunting me. The last phrase came out more like a loud, forced whisper.

If Marcus looked out the window, he could see a march of men with black and red armored robes on. The red portions of their attire glowed, almost like something off of tron, however, they didn't look very futuristic. In the front were groups of men with what looked like pulse rifles, while fewer in the back held staffs with spiked hand guards.

As they made their advancement down the street, the men with the staffs were scanning each house with a detector. The neighborhood was asleep, however there was one house with it's lights still on, so the soldiers quietly surrounded the house as three of them came up to the door to knock.

Enzo's behavior early faded away as he gave Silver a smile. No matter what she said or did, he still saw her as one of the greatest friends he ever met. It was clear she was still stubborn as always, which was good. In reality, he had no doubt Silver could keep up. As for Faye, the girl he apparently had no previous memory of, she was the one who'd be left behind. However, if Silver and Juro found their way into the hideout as easily as they did, this place really wasn't safe.

"You can come, but not when we're out on 'missions'." He explained to Faye. He took a moment to actually realize she was only wearing a jacket of sorts. He kept the confusion to himself. Volitaire seemed calm about it, so he didn't judge. In a way, she reminded him of their Rain Guardian, Eos.

He walked up to the door, and stopped, putting a hand on the frame and looking back to his group.
"I'll meet you all outside." He smiled at the end of his sentence, and left to catch up to Juro.

  23. Characters in this post:
Jacen sat in his office chair, still watching the factory list be populated. He decided to close his eyes and rest a bit while the list was finishing.
This is a lot more than I thought...especially the labs.
Just as soon as his eyes closed, his phone had gone off and a prompt on his computer's screen laid over the list of Tormod facilities.
    "Sir, incoming call. Felix Tormod."
    ...you're shitting me.
Jacen sighed and grabbed his wireless earpiece off of the desk.
He tapped a button on the side and answered the call.
"I have to say, I didn't expect you to call so soon. What's the matter, do you need a personal guard?" Jacen chuckled over the line.

It took a while for Faye to fully wake up. And when she did, it was to everyone freaking out about how the boy from before they fought with, showed up. She stiffened at the sight of him, her crystal orbs narrowing as her arms tightened around Voli's arm. She didn't like seeing someone they just fought before, showing up out of the blue. Yet listening to him explain everything, she just shook her head. That's when she was scowling, when she, and the female known as Sliver--a name ringing a bell in her head--had to stay behind. Faye would glower at the men, looking away as she muttered. "I don't even have family....." It was a sour response. But then again, the girl did just wake up, and wasn't in a good mood when she first woke up.

As everyone talked, it was clear that Sliver and her could come along, just not partake in missions. Faye frowned at that, her personality finally waking up, as she let go of Voli's arm to plant her hands on her hips. "Hey, I can fight too you know. I kicked ass back there in that castle." The mention left her mouth dry, at the memory of what happened, yet she just rolled her eyes and soon turned about.

"I'm going to go find some clothes....." She muttered under her breath, and soon set off to do what she just said. It was clear, from what she said, she announced to everyone that she wasn't fully dressed under her baggy jacket.

It was a while, before Faye was walking out. She had a slight better expression on her face. One that showed a little anxiety at what was about to happen. At the same time, she ended up finding some old pair of black slacks. They were very old, almost like a kids, to fit her, but still look a little large on her. As for a shirt, she just went and grabbed a simple large white dress shirt. As it was, she didn't even realize that where she got them from, was a old room that she didn't know who it belonged. Faye's eyes glanced around, as she looked for the others. But more then that, to look for Voli. She felt better when she was around him, kind of like a rock for her. She then recalled the narrow look Sliver gave her, when she saw her clinging to Voli before, and frowned at that. What was it that she did wrong? In America, it was normal to show's ones like towards another.

It wasn't like she was in love with him.....that got her seriously thinking for once, as she stood there with her arms crossed and a deep frown on her face.

Volitaire felt a brief sting of guilt telling Faye that he didn't want her to come along on his more dangerous endeavors. He didn't want her to feel he was doubting her skill after seeing her first hand. The raven haired girl had already left his side by the time he was going to open his mouth to reassure her, only saying she was going to find clothes. Watching her go he slowly nodded to her exit and turned to Enzo who was already catching up with Juro. He could only just follow up now. No use with staying behind a peeved Silver and that drag of a man, Argo. Still frustrated and indifferent to the whole situation Volitaire had sucked his teeth and started for the doorway... Then suddenly stopped. He could never focus on his tasks with some guilt in his heart, and he was still feeling that Faye was a bit neglected; he felt the same with Silver. He sighed with his shoulders dropping and eyes closing. "Silver... Tell Enzo to give me a moment." He turned back to the left of the hall back towards the barrack rooms, eyeing the doors to see if Faye was in any of them. He wanted to at least clear up with her before he left. He eventually caught the girl trying on some old pajamas found in the dressers. They probably belonged to his older family members when this place was actually used for training and battle preparations. He slipped into the room with a almost puppy dog look on his face. "Hey.. Sorry we sorta counted you out. We just don't want you getting hurt.. Last time we did things like these friends died and.. Well, I wouldn't want you do die now would I?" He tried to crack a smile to make himself seem more forgivable.

Juro had climbed up the hatch. An early start to another troublesome day He thought to himself. "Eve, uncloak." He ordered his companion. At once, a VTOL appeared right beside Enzo's car. It was much larger, but made only meager sounds. Behind the black haired boy, Enzo emerged from underground. It was impressive that Juro was able to stealthily land a VTOL right next to the hatch and have nobody notice. It made him wonder just how safe Volitaire's old hideout was in this new era.

    "I didn't get your name."
He mentioned to the younger male. Juro looked over his shoulder at Enzo. "Juro Takahiro." Then turned his head back to the VTOL. The back of the jet opened up, and a ramp extended for them to walk into. The inside was spacious. It was clearly a stolen military vehicle. It looked to be by the same manufacturers as those that attacked them.

"Juro, is it? My name is-" "-Enzo Ferrari. Guardian of the Sky." Juro finished Enzo's sentence, with confidence. Enzo was taken back by how much he knew. Juro was a human, and younger at that - but he was smarter than he looked. The next one up was Argo, but he kept silent. Although he was happy to see a non-magician joining their cause.

  27. Characters in this post:
Silver watched as Enzo and the boy left, and turned to say something to Volitaire, but he was already gone. She raised her eyebrow, and turned back to Argo, who was the only other one in the room. "Sorry, uh... Argo, was that your name? Silver is mine, if you didn't pick that up already. Shall we?" She gestured towards the exit, and began walking towards it, not really waiting for an answer from him.

  28. Characters in this post:
Lauren rubbed her eyes as she sat up on the bed. Checking the time, the woman was surprised to see it was past the normal time she'd be up and about. Shit. She'd overslept, and her shop was still closed. On a day that it was supposed to be open. Bolting out of the bed and grabbing a shirt from her drawer, she pulled it on. Then the pants came on soon after that before she stepped out of her room and into the hallway.

Making her way downstairs, she recalled something, Very important. She'd had a guest in her home. "Fan-fucking-tastic." She had Also momentarily forgotten about the other guy from yesterday. Eli. Due to the hour of night, she'd insisted that he should stay over and rest up. Apparently, he'd gotten injured not too long ago. She wasn't heartless enough to send him out on the streets after helping her with her errands.

Almost groaning, Lauren ran a hand through her hair to attempt to bring it in check. Maybe, I should just have a bit of a day off. That didn't sound so bad. Going to the guest bedroom, she opened the door and peaked in, checking to see if Eli was awake or not.

  29. Characters in this post:
Eli had been awake for a few minutes now, since the sun had managed to come through the window and shine on his eyelids. He laid there for a moment, trying to remember what had happened and why he was here before he opened his eyes. Oh right, he helped the woman named Lauren, and she offered to let him stay there overnight due to his wound and the fact that it was late. He sat up, realizing he was shirtless and needed to change his bandages again, and sighed. He ought to go home and stay there. Or maybe that wasn't a good idea, he wasn't sure. He ran a hand through his thick red hair, and heard that Lauren was awake. Not too long after he heard her, she opened the door. "Oh, good morning," he said with a friendly smile.

  30. Characters in this post:
    "Oh, good morning,"

Well, that was a surefire way of knowing the guy was up. "Good morning." Opening the door fully, her lilac eyes took in his form. The fact that he was without a shirt didn't even bother her. Instead her attention was focused on the bandages, and the fact that they were getting to be a bit too bloody for her liking.
