She gave the long swishing tail a sidelong glance. On the one hand she could stay in the middle of nowhere, or she could follow a strange cat.

    Slow death, quick death...

It took a moment of indecision before slowly picking through the foliage and following the strange talking cat. Every once in a while she would pause and look up at the twin moons adorning the sky.

"Is there any point in asking where you're headed?" she mused as she flicked away an errant leaf that had settled upon her hair.

  2. Characters in this post:
After seeing that the girl was following him, he continued on off the paths and into the forest. With nightfall on them various Wonderlanders were starting to stir-- and not the friendly kind either.

"Has there been any point in asking me anything so far?" mused the cat. He paused as snarling echoed in the far distance.

"Huu huu huu. Now whom might they be after. Be it us, be it an unwary traveller? Who indeed. Huu huu huu." Enz's golden eyes glowed under the moonlight before moving forward again. He kept moving forward, not minding the sounds of gnashing teeth and low growls. Aware of them, yes. Minding them, no.

Rustling sounds of leaves flickered in the air above from smaller Wonderlanders that roam the night. Deserters of kingdoms, and those that belong to none.

"He'sss no worssse than I am...I think." Koli shifted Allen again, but his grip was faltering more and more, in a minute he was likely going to drop the young man. "Hatter, can you take him? I'm afraid I can't keep thisss up for much longer." He waited for the Hatter's consent before beginning the long, awkward process of transferring a limp body from one bearer to the next. It was made especially difficult by Koli's almost obsessive efforts to make sure he didn't stain any of the Hatter's clothes. All the while he was explaining what had happened--talking kept him alert, a state of mind he was really reaching for now. He glossed over the verbal debate he'd shared with Allen, summarizing it as the Alice being unwilling to trust him and Koli eventually growing impatient and choosing to let Allen find things out the hard way.

Then he moved on to when the pack had struck, and documented this in greater detail. How Allen fared, how they had backed each other up, and how Koli had (regrettably) almost lost total control of himself. He was reluctant to admit that he'd let something else sneak up on them completely unnoticed, but he readily launched into an account of what Allen had done and the strange power he had demonstrated just before his collapse. As for what Koli felt he now owed Allen, he kept that to himself. That was between him and the Alice, no one else needed to be involved.

"That'sss everything," he concluded. "He'sss ssstill breathing and hisss pulssse isss sssteady. There isss a nasssty wound on hisss leg, luckily it ssseemsss to be getting better--or at leassst lessss dire." He was gripping his shoulder again, wincing whenever his claws accidentally dug into the bite marks. "I need to go deal with thisss," he added. "Ssso, if you'll exsscussse me."

Alysse stared at the dissipating feline with a thoughtful expression. Either the cat was leading her to certain death... or it couldn't be bothered to give an explanation. Either way, the lack of information was beginning to irk her. She didn't like being ignorant. What was more, she hated waiting for information she found pertinent now.

"There was a point, you just chose to ignore it," she replied with a one armed shrug.

Off in the distance she heard snarls in the dark. A dark eyebrow quirked as she heard the inhuman sounds.

"Are you a Cheshire cat or a Rhetorical cat?" she finally sighed finding his questions tedious.

Rain pattered gently against the window of her home, and though the moon hidden behind a cloud promised a safe night's sleep, the moisture in the air was laden heavy with the chaos in one particular female's mind.

Useless...you useless girl. Brought back from that place- that idiotic place full of people who gave you pills to make you happy again. That was fake. Fake emotions don't fulfill the emptiness in one's stomach- those liars. Liars, liars, liars.

It was Luna's third day home from the mental hospital, and already, her patience was growing thin. As soon as the twenty year old arrived home, the people around her automatically assumed that she was 'alright,' and that the old, happy Luna was back. What fools they were. Luna was, in fact, not alright. She felt dizzy and dreamy all the time; the world was always in a state of a hot and hazy summer to her, and nothing was ever really clear. Who was she again? What did she do before she became so fake?

Those mere thoughts seemed to bounce around Luna's mind every time she closed her eyes to think- and sometimes even when they were open. She wanted something to hold onto, something that she could proudly declare 'stable.' However, nothing was there. Her Stradivarius was gone. Her hands were useless. Luna was better off dead.

A single tear rolled down the girl's pale cheek as she dwelled on the thought. Death, she rolled the word around inside her head, such a pleasing sound.

Luna stood, and as the moon became uncovered by the haze in the sky, she began to climb the stairs. Up, and up, and up she went, until she reached the rooftop. Her eyes flickered from the lights that dotted the city she lived in, and Luna turned around, back leaning against the railing, which was rather short.

She closed her eyes, and chaos began to race through her head once more. I could go so, so easily. What good is a violinist who cannot play the violin? Useless. You useless, useless thing, got yourself tossed into a mental facility, useless, uselesss, uslessuselessuselessuse-

And with that, Luna had tipped herself backwards and off the side of the building, her tearstained cheeks marking the path of the water that had spilled out from within her moments ago. Finally, Death...

    --- • ---

A thumping sound could be heard throughout the wastes as a certain individual arrived in Wonderland. Luna let out a sharp screech when she landed on her arm, lightning bolts of pain shooting up her hand. Then, she stood. What was this mysterious looking place? Was this what heaven looked like? Luna blinked, her eyes flitting from one sparkling gem to the other. Am I...the only one here, in heaven?

  6. Characters in this post:
"Huu huu. Then wait and see." A toothy grin spread across the cat's face. Another snarl echoed in the distance. From how it seemed, they were starting to draw near.

"Am I one or the other? Am I both or am I neither? Though, will you hurry or take your time? The night may be young, but stir do hungry beasts that lurk this place." Enz had picked up the pace. Having an Alice die this soon would be a waste. It would be more interesting to see what would happen later on.

There was the scent of blood that drew close. Some were stagnant, others moving. Perhaps there were fresh corpses nearby?

"Unexpected, unexpected indeed. What could it have been, huu huu huu." Wonderlanders tended to not walk in the forests and such at night because of packs of predators, those that did were either well armed, foolish, or lost. A combination of the three was also possible.

  7. Characters in this post:
Alysse rolled her eyes at the answer. Of course, what sort of reply had she expected from the fickle cat? At the sound of snarling she glanced up, her eyes flickering a lime-green in the oncoming darkness. Predators were about, she hoped they'd found what they were looking for otherwise, this was going to be a very short stay in Wonderland.

"In case you can't tell I'm not exactly dressed for a country outing," she replied as she lifted her skirts and quickened her step. "How much further is-?"

She was cut off by something heavy slamming against her and tearing into her skirt. She blinked while her brain uselessly alternately blared "CLAWS" and "TEETH". Whatever the thing was it was ruining her clothes. Her hand closed around a handful of soil which she threw into its bloodshot eyes. The stunned beast stumbled back just enough for Alysse to worm away. Her dress had gotten the worst of it, but if this was the cat's doing she was going to personally neuter the thing. But first, the thing trying to eat her needed to dealt with.

No weapon, no shield, nowhere to hide... If she just ran sporadically she might just run into more of the beasts. Assets, she needed assets...

"My kingdom for a taser," she muttered under her breath as the thing shook its massive head and pawed dirt out of its eyes.

There was a particularly, nasty looking wound on the thing's side so there was something bigger that this running around in the woods. Not a particularly pleasant thought. She winced as she realized there was really nothing within her grasp that could inflict damage on the thing from a safe distance.

    This is going to hurt.

    "Aw bloody hell..."

  8. Characters in this post:
The sudden attack wasn't much of a surprise. To be expected seeing as they were walking through an area that would be regarded as a danger zone. Though, Enz was rather slow to act since he wasn't seen as the main prey. A small ball of fur wasn't very appetizing nor was it very filling.

"Huu huu. We can't have you dying yet. I doubt the Hatter would be much pleased." Enz focused on what to do, causing Alysse to melt into vapour with him. Her injuries carried with her though any further physical damage would not be attained.

It was like a being inside a globe with a gigantic panorama of the surroundings that stretched further than the eye would normally see. However, distances were relative, and warped after a certain point.

Enz flicked his tail, and the scenery zoomed by. Trees blurred, and at times it appeared as if they were about to crash right into them, only to see that they phased through. The scenery came to a crashing halt inside a building of some sort. In a snap, both of their forms had regained on the floor of the TOP HAT headquarters.

The black cat looked around. "Isn't this quite the company you have here today Teagan?"

  9. Characters in this post:
In all honesty, she hadn't expected the cat to do anything other than fade away in a swirl of mist. After all, he'd known her for all of one hour, they weren't even acquaintances. Nevertheless as the massive thing lunged at her, the world became loopy. She felt the massive jaws close around her forearm but it was as if she were seeing everything from the inside of a fishbowl. In an instant the clamped down jaws were gone the world spun and shifted as she remained in this odd bubble. The ground beneath her feet faded and she felt as if she were suspended in space, or perhaps like a leaf tumbling weightlessly through the air.

All to soon the world righted itself and she felt hard solid floorboards suddenly rise from the ether and crash against the soles of her shoes. Before her the cat daintily slipped from one state of being to the other without pause for thought. He sauntered forward with all the smugness of a... well, a cat. Alysse was not so lucky.

In the future whenever she spoke of this particular experience, she would omit the fact that she materialized with all the grace of a seasick cow. Alas, she did not so much 'arrive' as she did in fact crash face first through the 4th dimension. Her arm slammed against the floorboards with a rather wet smack. The world still spun but thankfully she was outside of the accursed fishbowl. The elbow-length glove on her left hand was slashed to ribbons but the fangs had only raked across her skin. Granted the damage was minimal but that didn't stop her from bleeding all over the floor.

"Warn me when you're going to do that!" she growled through the pain as she remained face down waiting for the room to stop spinning.

wearemadShouldering the unconscious body of the Alice, Teagan moved aside to let the Jabberwocky attend to his own wounds. Having one of his top men severely injured would be a hindrance for a while, but to the man’s credit, Koli could withstand a lot more of a physical assault than the average Wonderlander. Still, the redhead sighed softly as he wished he could have spoken to the fellow who had fallen into their world before this happened.

wearemadJust as he was heading to the medical wing of the mansion, an all too familiar voice sounded followed by a form change. Standing before him now was one of his most valuable informants – even if the cat seemed to have the attention span of a child being distracted by a shiny new button. ”It would seem so, Cheshire,” he replied to the feline male, taking a look at the young lady who was bleeding horribly on his freshly waxed floors. ”My word… are all of my Alices coming to me injured? This won’t bode well for us if this trend continues. I shall return shortly, dear.”

wearemadHatter quickly carried the limp body into the infirmary and placed him in one of the empty beds. Beckoning to the nurse on duty, he asked her to keep an eye on him until they came to. He also instructed her to call him immediately when the fellow opened his eyes. Grabbing a towel as he departed, he returned the young woman who had been bleeding heavily and wrapped the cloth around her arm with care.

wearemad”Come with me, love,” he spoke in a soothing tone. ”We’ll have you patched quickly and we can get you out of those tattered clothes.”

wearemadAs he mentioned her clothes, he noticed that she was showing quite a bit of skin. Granted, they were scratched and bloodied at the moment, but with some tender care those could be some very very enticing legs. Taking a look at her face, he noticed that though she was in pain, she still had a lovely, youthful glow to her. A small smile appeared on his features as he ushered her into the infirmary. Hmm, she could possibly be a bit of fun~ he thought as he sat her down on another empty bed.

wearemadAs the nurse on duty began to disinfect the young lady’s wounds, Teagan began to chat with her. ”Tell me, my dear, how did you come to acquire these nasty wounds?”

  11. Characters in this post:
Alysse glanced silently at her surroundings as she was helped to her feet and led to the infirmary. It seemed to be a pleasant, old fashioned sort of manor. Though to be honest anything was better than the fishbowl place. As she lay down and waited to be treated she tried to gather as much information as possible. This man was obviously in charge. Perhaps it was the loss of blood but all her brain could come up with was.

    HAT...

Her green eyes were muddled with olive smudges as her scratches stung. Her right eye twitched sporadically. No... not sporadically... someone had a watch, she could feel it ticking. Moreover, there was another clock down the hall, and another upstairs. It was as if she could sense its existence.

Oh lovely, I've clock-sense... and still I don't know what time it is.

She wondered if her stay in the Fishbowl had altered her mind somehow. Maybe her synapses didn't align quite right. Then again there was always the probability of a concussion. But no, her eyes, although twitchy were focused quite well. There was the madness excuse, this could all be a delusion, or perhaps a dream. Could she be in a coma?

The though was a bit unsettling. As a rule, she wasn't fond of dreams and their baggage. Dreams were a reflection of your soul and insecurities, but more importantly, dreams were not real. So if it she were dreaming, why weren't there any life sized gummy bears? Lucid dreams were supposed to be anything the dreamer wished for. Perhaps if she pinched herself...

Ironically, the sting of antiseptic cut off her musings.

    Yep, that felt real.

It was then that she realized the Hat Man was talking to her. Her eyes flickered to his face.

    Strong... Confident... Clearly in charge...

Now the question was, did he expect an intelligent answer or a safer insipid one? It was Alysse's experience that men in charge rarely liked or indulged a witty response of any kind. In addition, he seemed to surround himself with the most impractically mad sort of people which meant he could keep them in check. Not a man she'd want to rub the wrong way.

"A thing with fangs," she replied choosing to play the safer idiot, "where am I?"

  12. Characters in this post:
wearemadAt the young woman’s answer, Teagan quirked an eyebrow. He was pretty certain that with the fuss she’d made upon her landing in the manor, she’d give more detail about what happened than just the simple, “a thing with fangs”. Honestly, that told him nothing at all. For all he knew, it could have been Koli that attacked her as he, too, was a thing with fangs. Although highly impossible, if it had been the Jabberwock that she’d encountered, she’d have bigger wounds on her than what she arrived with. However, with him being intelligent and keeping his beastly instincts at bay, Koli wouldn’t have let any harm to come to the new Alice. Knowing that his train of thought was derailing, he turned his attention back to the female.

wearemad”Was there any other features other than fangs, love?” he asked as he drew closer at her next inquiry. With a smile, he pulled up a chair next to the bed and took a seat, looking into her eyes. ”Why, you’re in Wonderland, dear! The wondrous, wonder filled, whimsical, Wonderland!”

wearemadOh how Teagan enjoyed introducing his homeland in such an alliterating fashion. It made him feel, dare say, downright giddy. After informing the girl where she was, Hatter gave her a moment to digest the information. Surely, as an Other Worlder, being told that you’ve fallen into another world couldn’t be an easy pill to swallow. He wondered how she’d react. Since he wasn’t able to see the first Alice’s reaction – though he felt as if he’d be better off not knowing – he wanted to see someone react.

wearemadBefore he could get what he wanted, he had a familiar feeling. There was no doubt in his mind that the third Alice had arrived. How splendid it was to have the third joining them already! However, with the conditions the first two had arrived in, the man felt it would be best if he, himself, went to escort her. After all, he was one of the most powerful figures in Wonderland so the creatures that went bump in the night knew better than to try him.

wearemad”We’ll continue our conversation later, dear,” he said to the green-eyed female, tipping his hat and standing. ”I must step out for a moment to fetch someone. Seems another of your kind has found their way here. Ta-ta~”

wearemadIn just a few steps, Teagan had departed the infirmary and went to his office where he gathered his coat and cane. It was a slightly chilly night, but a perfect one for a stroll. Especially near the Jeweled Diamond Wastes, where the third Alice had fallen. Knowing the person’s location, TOP HAT-acronym pending’s leader left the organizations manor in order to pick them up.

  13. Characters in this post:
wearemadUsing one of his quick methods – which will not be revealed at this time, hyu hyu – the red-haired man arrived just a short distance away from where the, now identified, female stood coveting the various shiny gems that glittered to beautifully in the light.

wearemad”Don’t stare too long darling or you’ll soon find yourself with a mouthful of grit from licking them,” he commented comically to her. ”Come with me, dear. I’ve been anticipating your arrival.”

  14. Characters in this post:
Alysse watched as the man left before he even received the clarification he'd asked for. Wonderland...

Seems legit. Improbable, but not impossible.

Granted, what she had seen of Wonderland was better described as... monstrous, mayhem, manic... As she was left alone with the nurse she made a mental note. The Hat Man had stayed and chatted approximately 15 seconds before swanning off without an introduction.

I suppose that my personal importance on a scale of 1 to 10 is more of a 3.

It was typical if not little off putting. One would think someone who'd landed from another world would merit a polite exchange of names.

"So much for Wonderland..." she muttered.

Perhaps she was simply in a bad part of Wonderland, like a sort of Wonderland ghetto where all the unwanted Alices were tossed in. No colorful mushrooms and fluffy white rabbits for you, no, you get feral snarling beasts and an unhelpful gibberish spewing cat. While we're at it, lets just flip on all the clocks and make you listen to them while you sit in an infirmary room and think about your choices in life.

Ok, that last part came out a little bitter.

Her lips twitched into a little smile as she entertained herself with her own dark musings. Perhaps it was the blood-loss or the fact that she's hiked for miles in Victorian dress shoes, but she felt tired. The loss of her favorite dress was something she didn't feel emotionally strong enough to deal with. Ah well, if he was content ignoring her, then it meant she wasn't worth the effort to kill. How nice to be so low on the totem pole of threats. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to just close her eyes for a little while. She sighed tiredly as she did just that and let her mind rest.

Unfortunately, her mind decided to screw her over and began replaying a rather unpleasant dream. Oh how she loathed dreaming especially when it cut into her sleeping time.

  15. Characters in this post:
Enz chuckled and wandered off into another part of the TOP HAT headquarters. Alone in the halls, his bones creaked and morphed, ripping and growing until he stood on two feet, walking towards the kitchen. Readjusting his scarf, black shoes tapped across the tiled floor where paws once were.

Longer strides moved along the halls, belonging to a black haired male with cat ears and a tail. Clothed in semi-formal clothing, he rummaged through the fridge for food and poured himself a cup of tea while he was at it, setting it all on a tray and eating as he walked back to the company.

He was relatively hungry after all, and not in the mood to go out and hunt for food. He had seen Teagan walk by towards his office and smiled to himself.

"Huu huu, busy night we have today. I guess that makes three." With a wide grin on his face, he entered the infirmary. His golden eyes switched between the two Alices.

The one he had picked up was of clubs, which meant that the other that rested on the bed was one of the other three, and yet another had come based on Teagan's movement towards the office. If it wasn't, the Hatter would not likely be leaving the company of a female this quickly.

Now was the question of what abilities these Alices had which were considered special. Based on what the Hatter had said, they were like keys to ending the war. In a way it was good and bad. Good in the sense of Enz not having to hear about the war anymore, bad in the sense of the nature of some people not coming into light. The removal of a chance for Wonderlanders that showed their twisted sides in the presence of war. That was the let down on if the war was to end.

"So what will you do miss?"

  16. Characters in this post:
There was a darkness all around her. Even in the sunlight, it clung to her form like a cloak since that day. It was as if the last mists of bright innocence had lifted from her eyes. She could see the cold dark truth of the world. The shades of gray vanished and there was only black and white. It was always this way... the same dirty gray snow on the sidewalk, a piece of worn line paper with an address scribbled on it, the sense of hope that bubbled in her heart but whose wings were all too quickly broken. The same damn redbrick house was there... oh how she hated him. He who dressed the world in rose tinted hues only to cast her into darkness. How dare he betray her trust. The abandonment she could deal with but not this embarrassment!

And yet for all her anger and disappointment, she could do nothing but stand there as the darkness coalesced around her like a shroud. She had been blind, but the darkness showed her truth, and it came in the form of blinding hatred.

What happened to angry little girls who swallowed their rage when they grew up? Did it really matter? She had to abide by the same rules as everyone else. The cage of society kept us all in check. Alas the rage did not die, rather it consumed the last bits of light deep within her heart until it became cold and hard on the outside.

The clocks chimed within TOP HAT and Alysse's eyes snapped open. The mark on the back of her hand seemed to grow darker as if it were being stained with ink. Her irises flared with a neon-green light, as if the anger and rage had materialized into an lick of flame. All at once clocks broke and stopped mid-chime.

The glowing eyes dimmed and reverted to their original lime-green hue.

"Who are you?" she asked her eyes fixed on the ceiling directly above her head.

  17. Characters in this post:
After his previous question, Enz watched as the Alice of club's eyes shot open. What followed was rather interesting. Though, a clock that sat over Enz's head had it's cuckoo break off and bounce off his head. Had he seen that coming, he could have avoided it, but seeing as he didn't, he ended up having a wooden bird bounce off the top of his head and land by his shiny black shoes.

"Me?" he asked. "I'm Chess. So, who would you be? I doubt you'd like to simply be called Alice. Unless of course you have no care for what you're called."

Enz stabbed the tuna on his plate. For now, there wasn't really a whole lot to do aside from wait. The hatter had gone to fetch the next Alice, and whether or not he managed to being her to TOP HAT headquarters was another question. It would be rather interesting if she didn't, though the likelihood of Teagan accepting that option was rather low.

Enz knew generally what he was up to. To stop the war. That was more or less the end of his knowledge. What he would do after with the Alices was a mystery. He could send them back, or convince them of something else. He paused as the wooden cuckoo tapped against his shoe.

"Huu huu, Hatter's going to be surprised to find his clocks like this."

  18. Characters in this post:
Alysse glanced at the man. He called himself Chess but spoke and laughed just like...

"You're the Fishbowl Cat," she stated mildly surprised. To be fair, unless he was suddenly made of chocolate truffle or magically dispensed espresso, Alysse was a difficult person to impress.

At his words, she looked up at the sad cuckoo-less clock now blissfully silent. Had she done that? Well that was a bit anticlimactic. On the grand scale of superpowers, clock-breaking had to score down there with communicating with fish. Nevertheless, she supposed that if nothing else, it would keep all of her enemies from knowing the time. They would forever run late to all their appointments! Mwaha!

She blinked owlishly as she recalled the hat man. Red hair, golden eyes... or had they been silver? He'd been... pleasant, if not brief, and well, dismissive. To be honest she had no opinion of the man, nor did she particularly care how he preferred his clocks.

"Ah yes, the hat man. I suppose he might not be fond of them not ticking," Alysse replied as she sat at the edge of the bed and took stock of the damage. Her silk stocking were now riddled with too many holes to be considered stylish, her shoes were filthy and quite possibly damaged beyond repair, and her dress... oh her new dress... It was completely tattered and better suited for a wraith than her. With an exasperated sort of sigh she got to her feet and stretched out her arm. She paused as a twinge of pain stabbed through her forearm. Other than that, along with the various scratches and bruises of course, she was none the worse for wear.

"So... where am I now, Fishbowl Cat?" she asked giving Chess a sidelong glance.

  19. Characters in this post:
    "Fishbowl cat?"

Enz laughed. He didn't expect to be called that, nevertheless after he had introduced himself. Had her experience of being thrown into his dome of invisibility forever labelled him as that from her view?

It was an amusing thought though. Of all things. Placing the fork on the plate, he twirled his finger causing the cuckoo to fly up and land into the palm of his hand. Rotating it in his fingers and looking at how it broke off from the clock. For the most part it simply looked like it blasted off, though Enz was no professional at things such as these.

"You're in the infirmary," stated Enz in an unhelpful manner. As much as it was true, it was plain obvious and most likely wasn't what Alysse was asking.

  20. Characters in this post:
”Don’t stare too long darling or you’ll soon find yourself with a mouthful of grit from licking them.”

She spun around, her eyes landing on a tall man with scarlet locks, a slightly bemused expression on her face. Luna's expression morphed from simply dazed to that of completely confused. Was this male also dead, in this heaven of sorts? Her head tilted; was he, perhaps, God? No, that couldn't be; Luna had stopped believing in God a long time ago. Yes, it was strange to believe in a heaven and not believe in god, but then again, Luna was a strange being herself. "You..." she started to ask, "Who are you?"

  21. Characters in this post:
Alysse stared at the cat as he was about as useful as a bowling ball on a sinking ship. Then again he was a cat. Cats were not the most useful of creatures to begin with.

"Of course I am..." she muttered as she noticed his ears. They were as black as his hair and she had missed them at first. "Ears..."

Curiously she reached up and touched the soft velvety fur on his ear. They were warm and twitched under her touch. He truly was the Fishbowl Cat. She gently scratched the back of his ears while considering her position.

There was no way home, and even if there was, she wasn't too inclined on leaving just yet. The night was not her friend considering the beasties she'd encountered in the woods. So that meant that she was trapped here, in the Hat Man's or "Hatter's" home... or was it a lair of some sort? How many homes had an 'infirmary'? That was reserved for boarding schools, camps, and Hogwart's. Which meant there were more than just a few people stationed here. Perhaps she'd stumbled into a cult. Oh those were the worst. It was always don't eat this, don't leave there, read that, stab her...

"I suppose I'll have a look around," she sighed.

  22. Characters in this post:
wearemadThe girl’s confused expression only added to Teagan’s amusement as he walked closer to her. From the look in her eyes, he figured that she was trying to identify him, but no avail. Parting her lips to speak, the young woman asked him simply who he was.

wearemad”Who am I?” he repeated, taking off his top hat and bowing politely. ”I’m mostly known as the Mad Hatter. However, my dear, you may call me Teagan.”

wearemadPlacing his hat back atop his head, he extended his hand to her before he offered his explanation. ”Come with me now, love, it’s much too dangerous for a lovely young lady such as yourself to be out in a dangerous place like this. We must move quickly lest we attract unnecessary attention.”

In the shadow of a giant stalagmite glass rock was a man covered in a very Arabic like clothing, their colorful attire made it easier to blend with the crystal rocks. Accompanying this man was another in the same clothing. The two of them came upon Teagan and Luna from afar and only moved on closer to investigate. They spoke to each other in whispers, a language that is only native to them. The pair of Arabic-clothed people were part of a military camp not too far where Luna had dropped, the lookout had spotted something falling from the sky and had called out these two to investigate. Now that the two could make clear of Teagan and Luna's identity, they would nod to each other and each pull out clay ocarina. A very solemn tine was being played and because of the special properties of the surrounded stones and minerals increased the volume and echoed across the plains. More and more crept from the shadows and used the environment to blend with their camouflage. There were 16 of them each occupying certain blind spots from the pair. One of them was camouflaged so well that he had crawled close enough to the pair, even more bold to have crept up behind Teagan making him the apparent target. He did not however made him hidden from Luna who would see him in plain slight. The bold soldier pulled out his scimitar and silently raised it over his head, ready to slash downward at Teagan.

The throne room had simply been filled with smoke pumping out of the various hookahs all over as well as excelling from the mouth of the young boy sitting on the pillow throne that was placed in a very elegant manner. The place was filled with men of all ages, mainly those 10x older than he is. Zalazar was in the middle of enjoying some exotic dancing performed by potential marriage partners. Being the Shah, he had free reign of choice on who could be his wife from the pool. Each one of them were showing their physical beauty and potential. However, none of them sparked any interest to him. Zalazar simply knew that majority of the dancers were daughters belonging to each of the men present in the throne room. These ministers and counselors simply wanted to get one step ahead in the political hierarchy of JDW. Zalazar also knew that whoever he chose would simply be the person who would most likely be the next person to assassinate him. Rite of usurpation and political assassination was the common trend in earning the kingship of JDW and Zalazar wants to avoid another tragedy in his life. But he had to at least looked entertained while watching the various women dancing before him. So with all his effort he had placed a smile on his cheeks and simply continued watching the show.

The music had then suddenly stopped and a masked soldier appeared out of nowhere in front of the child ruled. "My lord, we have receive confirmation of an enemy spy just on the outskirts of the Red Sands. A group is trying to apprehend them as we speak." Zalazar softly placed the mouthpiece back on it hook and stood up. He bowed with etiquette to the room. "My humble counselors and their lovely daughters. I apologize for my rudeness but I must postpone this tradition in order to solve this urgency. It would be most appreciative if we schedule another date after I solve this issue." Two servant girls rushed in to put on Zalazar's mantle and retreated once helping fasten it on. The masked soldier simply accompanied "Now tell me general, whose spy have we caught this time." "From the description I have received, it would seem one of the person is the Mad Hatter." Zalazar gave an intrigued look to his general. "The delusional militia leader? He had already stolen a lot of good people from my land into his so called 'goal for peace.' Such a foul dream for a mad man. Have your men try their best to defeat him. If he does not die, then capturing him would be the much less difficult option. If he is locked in chains, make sure you notify me and send him directly to here. I would find satisfaction if I could kill off the hindrance personally."

Enz watched as Alysse moved towards him. His ears twitched. Though, no visible reaction came from him. Had be been a cat, at the time, he may have purred.

"Go ahead, though, please do stop scratching the back of my ears."

Enz had finished his food and now occupying himself with his cup of tea. For the most part, he didn't really care what Alysse would do while wandering around the headquarters. He wasn't planning on being a guide for her either.

Curious enough, he would end up following behind her anyway to see what she would do. Granted, he had no knowledge of the world she came from. No idea about the customs, the culture, or anything. At the same time, it didn't really matter that much to him. After all he had no way of using any information if he were to have any of their world.

wearemadAn uneasy feeling had consumed Teagan the longer he lingered within the Wastes. As much as he would have loved to stand and banter with the newest Alice, he knew that time out in the open would be very limited. Just as he thought, they had been watching him. That brat of a Shah didn’t know how to keep his army to himself. No matter, this wouldn’t be the first time the Hatter had a run in with the Waste ruler’s men and, given his “opposition” to the current war, it certainly won’t be his last.

wearemad”Oh dear,” the man sighed as he removed his top hat again and tucked it away in his vest. ”Here I was thinking that I’d have the easier time. Though, I’m not surprised by this at all. Come now, love. We must away into the night!”

wearemadGiving the young girl no time to protest his actions, Teagan took hold of her wrist and swiftly ducked away from the blade that was surely meant for his head. Had he been alone, the man would have engaged in combat with the Shah’s grunts. However, he had a very precious companion who absolutely could not fall into the wrong hands, especially not the hands of this land’s ruler.

wearemadHatter and the newest Alice were at a disadvantage for fleeing the Wastes as the man did not travel here often enough to know the terrain and she wasn’t even aware of where she was. It was going to be difficult and if push came to shove he’d have to use “that”, but on he went dragging the poor confused, and most likely now, scared young lady through the sands of the Jeweled Diamond Wastes.

Alysse tilted her head to one side as if she found his reaction puzzling yet amusing at the same time.

"But it's so soothing," she replied rubbing his ear with her fingertips before finally ceasing.

He didn't seem to care much what she did, though a tiny part of her acknowledged he'd saved her life. Ah well, she'd have to be pleasant to him then. Alysse wandered through the hallways not bothering to see if he was following her or not. There were rooms with people or rather, creatures that paused and stared when she approached. Alysse quirked an eyebrow in response and merely continued on her merry way.

She soon found the kitchen both cavernous and deserted. After raiding his well-stocked larder, she then proceeded to toss out what seemed like dozens of boxes of tea.

What in the world... are these in alphabetical order? Pffft. Not anymore...

Alysse scowled as she realized there was no coffee to be had within the cupboards.

"Strike one, Wonderland," she muttered darkly as she continued her raid without bothering to put anything back in its place. Alysse figured, perhaps incorrectly, that Enz would step in if she did something that was not allowed.

After some digging she emerged victorious with a tin of shortbread 'biscuits', a wax packet of expensive looking chocolates, some sandwich building materials, a wedge of cheese, a bottle of hard apple cider and what looked like a promising jar of a red spicy sauce thing. Soon she had made a small feast for herself and left a mess in the kitchen.

Enz simply watched the girl, while sipping his tea. She opened doors without knocking, and by the time she had reached the kitchen, it was a mess. It took Enz a moment to remember that he was still holding onto his tray of now empty dishes, to which he dropped into the sink. He had little to no intention of stopping her or telling her what to do. If she were to do something wrong, it would be far more interesting to see how she would learn from someone else-- or be told off it that happened.

For the most part at a glance, she appeared to be a rather messy person. Throwing things out of cupboards as opposed to shifting things around. There was also the unnecessary throwing out of certain things such as the boxes of tea.

Enz himself, had stood leaning against the wall with the majority of the kitchen in his plane of view. Several tea boxes were littered around him, to which he ignored.

We're all mad here. The voice echoed in a faraway memory of Enz's as he watched her. In a way it reminded him of a long time ago when he had attended one of the Hatter's parties. Disorganization and bits and bites everywhere.

A wide grin spread across his face as he continued sipping his tea and watching the other-worlder.

Hunger was what had prompted him towards the kitchen in the first place, but now it was the noises coming from inside that drew him in.

Koli, with his entire torso bound in bandages and his arm in a sling, cautiously pushed open the kitchen doors. Even if he was perfectly safe here, in TOP HAT's headquarters, Wonderland was still a place built on madness and fever dreams. There was no telling what he might find beyond that door.

A mess. That was what he found. Scattered pantry contents littering the floor, boxes of tea strewn everywhere. It made him wonder if a small tornado hadn't gone through here and made its mischief before vanishing--then he looked up at the figures already occupying the space. The first he took in was the lady from the previous night (another Alice no doubt). She seemed remarkably well-adjusted to finding herself in a new world, judging by how...at home she had made herself already. She was taking it better than Allen had anyway. She wasn't lying unconscious in the infirmary.

And then there was the second occupant. Enz. The Cheshire cat or, as Koli liked to think of him, a sentient hairball. The Jabberwocky pointedly ignored the cat while he crossed the room to fetch himself something to drink. "Good morning," he said to the lady. Perhaps she didn't want to talk to him, or perhaps she did. He would never know if he didn't indicate he was open to a conversation.

As Alysse prepared herself a nice little meal, her eyes spotted a book. Being in the kitchen, she assumed it to be a cookbook nevertheless she picked it up. The odd girl has always enjoyed a good read to accompany food. The moment she took her first bite, someone greeted her. Lime green eyes flickered up, first at the Cat, then at the decidedly tall ruby-eyed man. She obviously couldn't answer, and if he thought otherwise well...

The first thing that struck Alysse was how incredibly tall the man was. If it was indeed a man. He seemed to have had an encounter with a taffy-puller which had stretched out his limbs. Red eyes... slate gray skin...

A demon perhaps? Or is the correct term 'Youkai'?

His eyes had a reptilian sort of quality to them and his teeth reminded Alysse of a shark's.

Warm or cold-blooded? Skin or dermal denticles? I bet he would be fascinating to dissect. Then again, if he's active at night, or rather, in the cool early morning, he most likely is warm blooded. He doesn't seem sluggish. Pity there's no walk in freezer to check. Was that a black tongue? Bismuth-sulfide? He certainly doesn't look like he's had an upset stomach. Ah, but he is hurt, judging by the white bandages, it happened quite recently.

Questions bubbled through her mind as she found ever more oddities with his appearance. But finally she simply opened the bottle of cider and washed down her sandwich.

"I suppose you're Bill, been digging for apples lately?" she quipped with a smirk, "Or was that Pat? I forget which one was the lizard..."

Ah, she was eating, that explained the lack of verbal response. Not a problem, Koli didn't actually care if she answered him or not. Good morning was more a reflexive statement upon seeing another being walking around, not really anything special or noteworthy in and of itself.

He did know some kind of return greeting was coming. He could tell by the way she was scrutinizing him as he put things away (lest the Hatter come back and throw a tantrum over the less than organized state of his kitchen). He wasn't very neat about it, he shoved everything back into boxes and then stuffed those boxes back in the cupboards in a rather haphazard and sloppy manner. Organization wasn't his forte, but at least he could clear the kitchen surfaces before anyone saw. Maybe he could find Lisette and convince her to finish sorting later...

By the time the Alice spoke up, Koli was digging through the ice box in search for something to snack on. He couldn't hunt at the moment (for obvious reasons) but it was useless to try telling his stomach that. He only hoped that there was something more substantial than a few cold cuts lying around, preferably something that wouldn't be missed.

The lady's words made him pause his search to stare at her with puzzled expression. Who were Bill and Pat? One of them was a lizard, and there were apples involved? He wasn't a lizard--did she think he was a lizard? He didn't look like a lizard, did he? Koli cocked his head to one side and blinked--the very image of a confused animal. No matter how he turned her words around in his head, it made no sense--and that was coming from a native Wonderlander.

"Sssorry to disssappoint you, but my name isss Koli. Not Bill or...Pat," he said as his introduction. "And I'm not a lizard either. Pleasssed to meet you, Missss...?" His stomach growled again and he ducked his head back into the ice box. Luck, it seemed, was being clever today. Cold cuts were all he found that was worth eating after all, and there weren't very many left. Ah well, he thought, popping a slice of some creature into his mouth. it's better than nothing.
