Lifelines, a sandbox rp

Premise

A new world was born on the 15th of March 1942, after decades of the Great War humanity had enough and decided to destroy the remain of the world as they knew it and reforge it in their new ideal; a world of Peace. The last straw was the death of most of the adult on earth, leaving only the elderly and the young to live in terror and grief, and so the world changed from the survivors' perspective.

The elderly brought back pedigree, marital arrangements and honor back to the world, and the young brought idealism, Darwinist and playfulness from the ashes of fear and hate. And so the New World was born, slowly shaped and crafted during decades as love and hate took a backseat to Duty and Necessity, the world taking on in age as all men and women were made equal and knowledge slowly came to be the center of everyone's lives, this knowledge leading the path to political, entrepreneurial and academical prowess and soon the old world was forgotten.

The worship of Life made it's appearance, worshipers idealizing the state of living and always striving to understand the power of Death, this religious fervor mingling with everyday life into one sole mass of energies and goals.

Marriage became Companionship, a momentarily but true bond between two different persons to forge either an alliance or an offspring, the arrangement to be ended whenever the need called for it and to never be called back again, making a strange but welcome change about faithfulness in paired Companions and logically, at least, proving to be superior to marriage.

The resulting offspring, if there was any, were sent to the nearest Amphitheater, to be brought up as a promising young inhabitant of the New World and taught all he or she needed to know for their majority ,which was universally acclaimed as the age of twenty-five, where the brain was fully developed. They learned much in the ways of politics, etiquette and laws there, and were trained in various physical activities as they were taught more mental matters. Psychological help was given to all, the result a well balanced individual... on the surface at least.

An intricate systems of castes and political parties were formed, each choosing their party on their majority and sticking to it through their lives for the most part, the castes shifting yearly as the failures of one becomes the opportunities of another. Such rivalry spread everywhere, from political podiums to athletical training rooms to end in academical classrooms. Still war never came back as history was turned into a horror story told over and over again to children, making them loath to experience such horrors themselves and so physical crimes were very low indeed... other crimes, however, were always beneath the surface.

Where do you fit in all this, you ask? Well, this is up to you, as you will pass as many lives as you want in this world and discover many things, will you be able to maintain peace or further this hedonistic Eden into perdition? Will you abide the all powerful Laws or stray into the darker depth of criminality? All is up to you... for this is the New World. But remember, Life is sacred, don't throw any away, for you will suddenly finds that Eden turned into Hell!

Gameplay:

This is a sandbox rp, that is you can be whoever you want and do whatever you which and I will take care of dishing out the events and consequences of your actions or innocent wanderings. You can start as a newborn or at death's doors, the choice is yours, the only rule is to take what life you created seriously.

Each character will have a set of hidden attributes that only I will know and use for the world's reaction towards you, that it be positive or negative. All that I would prefer is that any subsequent character you make would have some connection to the previous, that it be of blood or of relationships. Do you want to make a bloodline? Great! Do you want to take on the last NPC to have seen you before or after you died? That great, too! Just please make it with some relationship, as someone must have that inventory should something happen, right?

Next in the order of business is the pace, which will change depending on the general pace of the story and our moods, application will of course be always open unless there is already four players in the game, in which case it will depend on the pace and my willingness to take on newcomers.

The attributes! They are as follow:

Will: Your character's ability to resist temptation and go on. This can be strengthened.

Corruption: How corrupt your character is, this will have a negative effect on gameplay, though if you take on the less traveled (and shadier) path... This will augment with your actions, if they are corrupted.

Charisma: Your character's ability to sway others to their point of view. This can be trained.

Pedigree: How posh is your character's bloodline? This will also have an effect on who will deign speak to you. The better the pedigree, the more friendly the interlocutor (some exceptions may happen, of course!)! Only careful breeding in case of bloodlines can this be augmented, or if you hit the jackpot with a random NPC.

Physical Shape: How fit is your character? It will encompass stamina, strength and health and can be trained.

Intelligence: How sharp of mind is your character? Many things depends on intelligence, most of all deduction and learning abilities.

Credibility: This can be a double edged blade, the more credible you are, the better, but honesty have it's price...

Happiness: How happy is your character? Careful, if it reaches suicidal you have to start over with another character!
