wearemadThe time of day was afternoon, almost pre-evening as some may like to call it. The light in the sky was just beginning to dim itself while the moons primped for their nightly appearance in the starlit skies over this magnificent Wonderland.
wearemadWell, maybe “magnificent” wouldn’t be the correct term at this time as the four major kingdoms in the land were now in a bitter war. The worst part of this: no one had a concrete answer as to what caused the different countries to call their men to arms. However, to keep their prides intact, each ruler made up their own cock-and-bull tale to either instill a fiery rage in the bellies of their citizens to have more hands to “defend their honor” or to appease the skeptics who doubted their decisions. Whichever way each respective ruler went, every kingdom had their reasons and they were sticking to it.
wearemadIn the midst of the rampant chaos – which is even more chaotic than normal, given this is Wonderland – a resistance group stationed themselves in the very middle of it all. Literally in the center of the land was Central Forest. Not the move cleverly named place but it was accurate in terms of being the central point as well as being an actual forest. Within the greenery, over the bridge of the clear creek and through the forest, there was a small manor of sorts. This place belonged to the war resistance group called TOP HAT-acronym pending.
wearemadPast the black steel, filigree gates stood a large dwelling. This was the main house of the group’s headquarters. Within its walls were various rooms intended to house some of the members who wanted to flee from their kingdom in these troubled times. Though the choice was there, many opted to remain as they were and act as field agents, reporting back to the group’s leader when something of interest happened. This left plenty of the rooms empty in the building as well as the additional dormitory to the left of the main building.
wearemadTo the right of the main house was a multi-purpose building of sorts. It has been used for official TOP HAT-acronym pending meetings, birthday and un-birthday celebrations, masquerades, and daily tea meets. Needless to say this place saw plenty of activity. In fact, it was being used not too long ago by the founder of the whole organization! Who is the one in charge of the biggest – and possibly the only – war resistance group in Wonderland? Why none other than Teagan Loxley or, as he’s more commonly known as, The Mad Hatter.
wearemadAfter his daily tea meet with his assistant and the others who worked closely with him, he returned to his office in the main house. The room - which was attached to his personal bedroom by a door to the right as one enters – was simply, yet elegantly decorated. A deep mahogany desk was placed carefully in the middle with two matching chairs in front of it. Behind it, a more comfortable matching seat with wheels attached. Atop the structure were various filing bins with the input side towering over the output. Though neatly stacked, there were small mountains of paperwork that needed to be processed, signed, or reviewed for approvals.
wearemadAlong the walls were gorgeous bookcases which held all sorts of manuals, novels, and even some literature from the “Other” world! Between the bookcases was a cabinet that held the most beautiful, pristine tea sets one could ever lay eyes on. Meticulously placed and carefully maintained, this set was only to be brought out when TOP HAT-acronym pending’s goal had finally been reached: to unite all four kingdoms of Wonderland and return to peace.
wearemad ”Ahh, it seems like only a dream at this point, doesn’t it?” the leader sighed softly as he adjusted his hat on his head for the xx-th time that day. ”Have you heard anything about our coming visitors, Wock?”
