Blasts of black shadowy bolts are fired form multiple directions, disorienting Red. The black mist begins to reject his outward push and move back in around Red. Volitaire's voice could be faintly heard but left a odd echoing that made it hard to make out. "You're energy is admirable, but tell me. How is your memory? You manage to forget one thing, that open wound. Soon, you're blood cells will deteriorate at a slow but sure rate... Also, look under you..." A green pentagram takes shape, and green spiked chains coil around Red's wrists and ankles. The mist wavers away and Volitaire walks up with his sword in hand, he bangs over his eyes cover one but leaves another revealed, only to be a yellow glow, Volitaire seemed a bit darker in tone too. "Consume, from under to torment.." A purple light glew from the tip of Volitaire's sword and stretched sould travel in a wavey pattern into the wound. "This speeds up the process the Miasma is already doing. You can resist all you want. But you will die in a short time if you persist."
-
Red couldn't help but grunt at the pain he was receiving. So this is the power of Volitaire... Alright, old man, you win. Red's head stoops down as he looses consciousness. "Volitaire won!.. But, is Red going to be okay? Enzo said. Kenji only shrugged, too caught up in watching the fight. The crowd lit up with cheers, seeing as how Red was passed out from the pain.
-
Volitaire let out a brief chuckle. A bit relieved he won, but at the same time happy he gave payback that was due for all the students. "Afflictions are the fastest way to take someone down, Red. I'm sorry for the punishment, but I expected you to take more of that." Red draws the manifested spirits from Red and healed his wound."He should come to soon. I hope at least..." Volitaire walked over and found Enzo and Kenji. Volitaire petted Kenji and reassuringly told Enzo. "He shouldn't be botering anyone else. When he gets up, tell him I said it was a good one. And that he owes me for the healing. Good luck with the rest of the day, see you later." Volitaire waves again and takes his leave on his Icarus Wings, going back home.
-
"That was boring Ling. I thought you were betting on Red to take this battle?" Joanne looked over to Ling who just gave a small chuckle. "Of course Red would have had a better advantage with his skills. That was not all of his ability as I look through his record. He should have more powers in reserve. Another thing is he person he was fighting is the younger sibling of Einso Lucath. You might have heard of the Lucath family from the reports given." Joanne simply watched in silence, watching Voltaire exit the school. "Also there was one more person watching this match. If they went all out, who knows what would happen to this building." Ling had noticed that a very important person was watching the match. A certain Headmaster of the school. "Joanne, go on ahead. I have some business to take care of. I found a kid that caught my interest." Ling had his closed eyes focused on Enzo after seeing him being close to Voltaire. Joanne let out a hmph and walked out of the school carrying her gym bag.
Ling put on a very innocent expression and walked over to Enzo casually. "Excuse me sir, but I can't help but noticed you were talking to the winner of that fight. He was certainly amazing with all those magical skills. I did not expect to watch such an amazing spectacle on my first day here." Ling bent to Enzo's height to have them both face to face. Showing signs of sincerity to another schoolmate.
-
Heaven Eyes stood in the doorway to the back, watching the fight. "Well on the up side at least they're getting to use their magic.." She tilted her head. Sometimes it was hard to find a good thing out of an awful one, but she always managed to find a way. "I just hope they don't hurt themselves.."
She watched as the fight winded to the end with the red-headed boy losing and the other black-haired boy being the victor. She smiled because the fight was over, and that she wouldn't have to worry. It was odd that she could worry over someone even if she had never met them in her life. She would even worry over someone if they hated her. She crinkled her nose and sighed a little. "Hate is such a strong word though..Well there's nothing below hate so the only words to follow is like and love!" She cheered silently and went back into the school.
-
Volitaire walked home thinking about the fight. "He went down a bit easily... Did he throw it in? Or was I doing more than I intended? Either way, I hope this settles things. I hate using my affliction magics, they're so boring and slow. I bet the crowd wanted a bloodfest or something. Einso won't be happy to hear I made a fight... Ugh." Volitaire walked into the small shack and Einso was in the living room eating some venison from a deer he recently hunted. "Took your time giving him luck?" "Well...I kinda got in a fight." "A fight? With who?" "Some guy named Red. He was giving Enzo a hard time. I wanted to show him the error of his ways." "Did you win?" "You could say I did. I managed to make him pass out from the pain, I had to use affliction magic. He had great endurance on the physical side." "Frontal attacks wouldn't work?" "My sword wounded him but he didn't give any kind of reaction. The guy's pretty good." "He may have won if you didn't take another approach." "That's if you know who didn't decide to join in." "Mmm, you have a point. Like I said, you should invest in other schools of magic. Light, Ethereal, and Fire magics would've helped with someone like him." "How so?" "Light, to distract him and momentarily blind him. Ethereal, for cloning and magic walls. Fire to keep him back." "And if his husky ass could run though the fire?" "Magma." "Eh, it doesn't matter. It's over with. I just feel he threw it in." "Affliction magic has a lot more of an affect than you think, little brother. Remember that." Volitaire sat down and ate the rest of the roasting venison. Continuing to think to himself quietly.
-
Enzo, again, nearly jumped at yet another person suddenly appearing near him. "Y-yeah, we're old friends." Enzo said. It's those kids from earlier... Kenji stood on Enzo's backpack, watching Ling very closely, as he could sense something off with them. "Hey, Enzo, have you eaten anything today? We should check out the cafe here." Enzo looked back and nodded. "You're right, i'm starving, now that you mention it." Enzo waved goodbye to Ling without saying much, and the two of them walk back into the school, passing Heaven eyes.
"Idiot Enzo!" Kenji shouted. "Had he been any closer, he could have sensed your magical power."
"Yeah. The seal is wearing off, I can tell." Enzo looked down at himself and realized the pressure in his gut was all of his magic power stuck in one spot, but over the course of the day, it was growing. "I would say it was because of Red and Volitaire, but I think all the women did that." Kenji smiled slyly at Enzo. "Hey, what do you mean by that?! It's true I get nervous around them, but-" His sentence was interrupted by Kenji. "So, which one of them striked your fancy?" Kenji teased. Enzo only sighed as a response, as they got closer to the cafe on the first floor.
-
Ling's eyes opened up half as a dark smirk started to paint his face. He rummaged through his pack and pulled out a cell phone, dialing a very long number. "This is Ling, I have found someone interesting. Send me all information on..." He pulled out the student ID that he had swiped from Enzo when he bent down to him. "Enzo Ferrari." Ling listened to the person on the other line. "I just have a gut feeling that he could be a possible candidate for the organization, that's all." After clapping the phone off, he glance back at the picture of Enzo. "Looks like my original plan on staying out of people's way have changed. Enzo Ferrari, what is that power you possess?"

Chelsea walked out of the school and to the back, in the direction of her house. She held tightly onto her books, her head screeching with voices. She bit hard onto her lower lip as she continued to walk, and accidentally bumped into Ling. A darkened spark flashed from her, onto ling as her orange eyes flashed upward to the tall male then quickly away.
The voices were starting to sound more demanding. She needed to find some place isolated, and quick. 'Come play come play! Chelsea, the lovilest lovely come play with us, play with us!' She squeezed her eyes shut and started to quickly walk away. Why did it always have to happen around people? 'This way Chelsea, this way!' Her pace quickened. Sometimes she'd want to follow the voices, to see where they would lead her too. But she was always afraid. 'Always afraid' The voices mocked as she continued down the sidewalk.

Red had woken up in the nurses office a little while after he had passed out. Luckily for him, Nurses had healing magic, which could cure many different types of wounds and sicknesses. Fortunately for him, the nurse seemed to be out. Red got off of the bed he was placed on, and walked out of the office. It's been a while since i've been there. Red wondered. He limped his way to the third floor, and went into the headmasters room. The room looked like one of a principles, nice and simple, other than the back wall was a window to the back of the school.
"I did what you said, old man." Red said, closing the door behind him. Master was looking out the window, not facing Red. "I thank you for throwing the fight." "I don't care about your thanks, you just uphold your end on the deal." Red raised his voice. Master boone looked down in shame. "I keep my promises."
Meanwhile, Enzo submerged his face in the bowl of ramen, with Kenji doing the exact same, with a smaller bowl next to him. At the same time, they both lifted their head up, faces covered in ramen "Heheh, Ramen's the best." "Aye, but we aren't finished yet!" It seemed as they were racing, to find out who could eat the most food. Though even during this, Enzo's mind was wandering. All these people here in Sorcerers... Those.. females.. Enzo's magical power had grown a little, just from the thought. Kenji would have stopped him, if he were paying attention.
-
"Odd day for a fight." Nikola sighed. The girl didn't need his help and everyone else seemed to of had moved on. Two new guests appeared and he watched them for a short period of time before seeing the girl storm off. Then the man approached another, and Nikola lost interest. Class was going to be starting soon, and Red was now carted off somewhere.
Probably to the nurses's office. Did he really loose the fight? an eyebrow quirked up in interest. That's strange. He never looses fights. A sigh left his lips and he turned back down the hallway still helping the new students find their way around the school.
-
Daniel turned to Nickola, the fight had caused an uncomfortable prickle to craw across his skin and as he shook his head to clear his mind sleepiness appeared like a thief in the night. "Hey where are the dorms and do I have a room mate?"
-
Heaven eyes made her way down the hallway, yet again bumping into a tall boy with short blonde hair. This time though she caught herself before she fell and just stumbled back a little. "Oh, I'm so clumsy today!" She cheered as she looked at the male. "I'm sorry about that! My head is in the clouds today it seams."
She laughed briefly and stood there, smiling as her pale blue eyes wandered over the two males that were standing there.
-
Soon, Enzo and Kenji had finished their meal. Some students that were also present at the cafe stared in awe. Kenji hopped off of the table for a second, leaving Enzo to continue wondering. Then he returned with a flyer in his mouth. He dropped it infront of Enzo. It read: NOTICE FOR ALL NEWLY STARTING STUDENTS: You must take a ranking exam before actually being counted as a level 1 magician. Then, you may perform level 1 missions and jobs, archived here in Sorcerers. Speak to Master Boone to confirm the test. "Someone at the lobby were giving these out, we need to take this exam!" Kenji said cheerfully.
"Yeah, I guess we should go talk to the master then!" Enzo said, as he stood up and stretched. Kenji took his spot on Enzo's backpack, and they both went off to the headmaster's room.
On the way there, Kenji was messing around with the contents Enzo's backpack contained. He seemed as if he was starting to panic. Kenji poked his head out of the backpack. "Enzo! Where's your student ID?" Enzo stopped, and checked his pockets. "I.. don't know?" He replied. Kenji shot out of the backpack and landed onto Enzo's head. "It was that creepy guy!" The fox shouted out. "I knew he was odd!"
Enzo looked up to the fox. "If thats so, how will we get it back?" Kenji became dumbfounded. "Good point, You can't fight without using THAT."
-
Ling and Joanne stood outside of the Headmaster's office. They had unpacked their stuff at the apartment before coming back to do the exam that was mandatory during the first day. "You know, if you keep being impatient, your hair will fall out due to stress." Joanne was not listening to Ling as she just leaned her back on the wall. Ling just simply stood there swaying back and forth, awaiting for their turn. The two of them were pretty much zoned out of the other student's area due to their strange aura. Nobody dared to approach them and the two did not mind and care. "Geez, this is taking rather long. We should have been exempt from this thing because of our privilege status. So troublesome."
-
"I guess i'll just have to tell the master that I lost it." Enzo continued walking up the stairs. Once he reached the headmasters office, He saw a small crowd of people starting to gather to sign up for the exam. Then, he noticed Ling and Joanne. Kenji got close to Enzo's ear, so that nobody else could hear them. "There's the guy who took it, i'm sure of it. Go get it back." Enzo gulped. He hated getting into tense situations. He looks like a nice person, though... And her, Enzo's eyes shift to Joanne. She doesn't look nice at all, oh god... Enzo held his head, a terrible headache plagued him. Though his fit is making himself more noticable.
-
Ling looked to the side and saw Enzo approaching towards the office. He simply put on his friendliest smile and waved over to Enzo. "Enzo, over here. I saved a spot for you." He was pointing to a newly made space between Joanne and him. Joanne glared over to Enzo and turned her head away, uninterested in the person Ling was calling out. "Relax Joanne, you will still go first, I'll let Enzo go before me."
-
Before Enzo could open his mouth to protest, Kenji spoke before him. "That's pretty nice of you! Let's go Enzo." Enzo was slightly shaking. He walked over to the spot that was saved for him. Kenji.. What are you doing? He thought. His magical presence started to grow the longer he stood next to Joanne. His mind started to flood with worries and past troubles. On the other hand, Kenji tried his hardest to focus on the two that was beside them. "So what are your names?" Kenji asked.
-
"Yeah, introductions are to be made. I'm Ling Yuan He and that sourpuss over there is Joanne Heartland. You could at least say hi to our guest." Joanne turned her back to Enzo before Ling had started talking. Ling made a pouty face but changed it back to a smile. "If you want to know what to call me. Ling is fine. In Chinese, you would have needed to call me Ling Yuan, but that is a mouthful don't you think?" Ling was rummaging through his pockets. "You don't have to introduce yourself to me Enzo. I already know your name." He pulled out his Student ID and had it out for him. He started rubbing the back of his head and bowed a bit frantically. "When I walked up to you, I saw your ID on the floor and was going to return it to you. But you had already disappeared from our sight. I'm so sorry that I had kept it with me. I should have returned it to the lost and found. Sorry. But you know, it's good that I ran into you here though, now I can return your ID. It must have been weird for me to call out to you when I'm just a complete stranger." Ling was still bowing lightly and Joanne just kissed her teeth in annoyance for Ling's behaviour. She had no intention to entering the conversation between the two.
-
Enzo took his ID card, and looked at it. "T-thanks." Enzo's frantic self was calming down a little. "You'll have to excuse Enzo, He's terrible with crowds and girls." Suddenly, Enzo spoke up. "Hey! Don't go around telling my business!" Kenji was taken back from Enzo's tone. The seal broke. Kenji thought as an intense source of magic energy was felt pulsating from Enzo. Enzo noticed, and started to panic. "I'..I'll be right back!" Enzo darted off to the restrooms, which was fortunately not too far from the spot he was in. He goes into the men's room, and reaches into his pocket. He takes out a bottle of red pills and takes a single pill. "Enzo, pull yourself together. It isn't that bad." Kenji stated. Enzo took the pill and looked at Kenji. "You know this is tough on me right now." He said. "Dont make it any worse." Kenji nodded in acceptance, and the two of them exited the men's room, returning to his spot. His magical presence was dwarfed back to being undetectable.
-
Ling just noticed the fox was actually part of the conversation. He did not realize the existence of it till now. It was very well hidden. But Ling kept his pace natural. Joanne and Ling both felt the sudden urge from Enzo but only for a mere second before he disappeared away from the crowd. Joanne turned back and looked at Ling. "I know. It's pretty large... Aiyaa, I think I just got into something troublesome. Things I have to do for the organization." Joanne glared at Ling. "Just keep with our acting and nothing will be revealed." Joanne just nodded and faced back to the line up as it started moving down.
Enzo came back. A sweat drop rolled down Ling's cheek as he looked a bit worried. "That was quite a rush you made there. Don't tell me it was..." He leaned a bit closer to whisper quietly to Enzo whilst making a serious expression. "Diarrhea. You don't have to hide your condition. I know what it is like to have stomach problems." Joanne started to feel even more annoyed that Ling was talking about something totally redundant. A fiery aura seemed to start encompassing her.
-
"D-..No! of course not!" Enzo's expression was mixed between fear and embarrassment. He didn't expect something like that from Ling. He noticed Joanne's anger, and started to freak out again. "I'm sorry!" He blurted out, expecting to be striked by her. The line was finally starting to move, and they weren't that far away from the headmasters office. The student that was in there seemed joyful to have finally signed up for the exam. Was Sorcerers really that well known, that just being able to offically be a part of the school was an amazing thing?
-
Joanne walked on ahead cutting the students in front of them. She did not want to continue listening on their pointless conversation. Ling let out a sigh. He then patted Enzo's back. "Now you've gone and lie about your diarrhea problem. Joanne really gets pissed off from lies. Well as long as you apologize to her, maybe she might get less annoyed of you." Ling was poking Enzo's cheek playfully. He then looked over to Kenji with a bit of curious interest. "This is my first time seeing a mystical animals. I know of familiars, but not one that can talk properly." He then moved on poking Kenji. "Is this even real. You're handsome one." He was referring to Kenji's eyes being relative to Ling's.
-
"Of course i'm real, and pretty handsome as well."" Kenji was obviously letting Ling's flattering get to his head. Enzo stared at Joanne as she walked away. Apologize? He shook his head a bit, trying to 'purify' himself of such crazy ideals. No way! She seems like the kind of person who'd kill you in your sleep... He thought. "Kenji's been with me ever since I was little." He said with a sudden smile on his face. He noticed that Kenji was actually posing, trying to show off after being complimented.
-
Ling let out a chuckle. He tried his best to mask his creepy one for a much normal one. "You two are indeed a pair. You know Enzo, I don't have much friends beside Joanne. It would be an honour if the two of us can be friends. That includes you too Kenji." Ling let out his hand for a handshake. He then blushed a bit and started to give an apologetic bow. "I'm sorry, that must have been weird of me. I'm pretty much being awkward and annoying you Enzo."
Joanne had finished her exam and walked out of the office. She walked towards Ling and position herself back to the wall.
-
((Scene music. ^^ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIh6-...cvgmFeoaVBG9LQ ))
The students in line were clearly complaining about Joanne cutting by everyone. "You aren't awkward or annoying at all, Ling!
It had seemed that despite Kenji's warning of Ling, He felt pretty reliant. Enzo looked down at the ground, as if he were ashamed. "If anything, I'm awkward and annoying." Kenji noticed Enzo's now dark tone. "I've been that way for everyone I've met, with the exception of Volitaire." Those words brought both Kenji and Enzo bitter memories of betrayal, and the harsh truth. "But, I'm here now, and i'm ready to try again." Enzo looked up to Ling, who was unusually tall. "Of course you can be my friend." For Enzo, Friendship meant more to him then the average person. He thought of them as comrades, and family. Which was why he's never ambitious to make friends with people who doesn't seem friendly.
-
Joanne just had her eyes closed listening to Enzo given the confidence speech. Ling could not help but well up till tear starts rolling down his face from his closed eyes. "Really Enzo, I'm just so relieved. Let's enjoy our years at Sorcerer together alright?" The people around them were pretty surprise to watch the scene unfold. Most of them were trying to avoid the two of them, but some of them just felt like approaching Ling and Joanne one day. He then noticed the line up in front of them disappeared. "Well Enzo, it seems that will be our turn next. Go in there and do your best Enzo. We'll be cheering for you in there. Right Joanne?" She did not bother giving a response to that.
-
Enzo nodded, having been happy now that he'd actually impressed someone. He started walking over to the Headmaster's door. I wish you could see me now, dad. Enzo opened the door to the office, and went in. Ivan Boone was waiting for him. "Enzo, come in, sit." He beckoned him. Enzo went over to the chair that was placed infront of his desk. The atmosphere felt much like an interview for a job. "So, you want to take the exam?" Enzo nodded. "Yes." He replied. Boone closed his eyes for a second. It confused Enzo. What's he doi- His thoughts were cut off when Boone opened his eyes again. His eyes were greyish white, and glowed.
It felt as if Enzo was beginning to fall asleep, and before he knew it, he found himself in a dream, laying in the grass in an open field, surrounded by trees. The field was also next to a large lake. He looked around and noticed a light figure was standing a few meters away from him. Enzo quickly stood up, not sure if it was apart of the test or not. "I've seen into your soul, Enzo Ferrari. You are not who you really claim to be." Enzo was dumbfounded. "What are you talking about?" He asked the figure. But it continued on with it's speech. "To pass the exam, you must defeat me." The figure said. Then it took off, leaving a trail of crushed grass behind it. Enzo panicked. W-wha? how am I supposed to fight with no magic power? The figure punched Enzo in the face, clearly not holding back. Enzo was sent flying into a tree behind him. He opened his eyes to see the figure stands infront of him. Even if this is a dream.. the pain feels real... Then, his eyes opened wide. If this is a dream... A simple blade appeared in Enzo's hand, and he swiped at the figure. It jumped a few feet back to avoid it. Enzo stood up, and raised his other hand to the lake. Water was starting to lift up into the air and obey Enzo's commands. Then it's my world. He clashed the water into the figure. Tons of water crushing the figure underneath it. Enzo got wet from the attack as well. The figure stood back up, with no signs of damage. What...?! He thought. Not many were able to figure out the test's true nature. Failing this test for you is near impossible. You pass." The figure then melted, turning into a shadow that merged with the tree's shadows.
Enzo woke up in the chair he passed out on. Boone was already standing up, and was looking out the window. "I didn't doubt you." Boone said. "Your next objective is to find a team of students, who have passed the exam, and go on your first job. I'll have Nikolas, the boy that signed you in, supervise you and your team. Now go." Enzo nodded. He was cheerful after having beat the exam in an odd way. He stood up, and made his way to the door. Kenji looked around in confusion. "What did you past? The fatigue exam?" The fox had clearly not seen what had happened. "I.. don't know, actually. All I know is that I passed!" Enzo couldn't figure out what he had just done, so he left the office with a smile on his face.
-
Ling waved good bye like he was watching a grown boy leave the nest. Now that Enzo was out of sight, Joanne finally said something. "You're really cruel Ling." Ling dropped his innocent demeanour and looked over to Joanne, his face became a bit sarcastically creepy. "Don't be like that Joanne. From the bottom of my heart, I do want to be Enzo's friend. It would make it way easier for us to recruit him to our side." Joanne kept on staring at Ling with mixed expression. "As long as it benefits the organization. I would keep up with this charade. I would be seriously pissed off, if this ends up terribly." Ling gave his creepy chuckle that he held in for so long. "I have his whole identity researched. This is just too easy for someone of my caliber." The crowd who wanted to approach them started to back away as the uneasiness of the atmosphere returned.
The doors opened again and Enzo had stepped out. Ling had gone back to his innocent self and Joanne kept silent. "Looks like you got in buddy. Now it would be my turn." He puffed out his chest with haughtiness and walked passed Enzo. "I'm going to show that master some of my, powerful Chinese magic. Wish me luck Enzo." He started to flail his arms around like a kid starting out karate as the doors closed behind him.
Now the only two people left were Joanne and Enzo. She now was glaring at him deeply. Her eyes were pretty much trying to pierce his very soul.
-
Enzo's mood was dwarfed as he stood there, being assaulted by Joannes stare itself. Keep it together, Enzo. This isn't the first time a girl's given you this look before. You're used to it now. Under the pressure, Enzo was starting to sweat. He gathered his strength and managed to speak to her. "Did I do something wrong to you?" He asked her.
