Enzo ran as fast as he could, he had no time to finish his breakfast or properly pack his backpack. He was running down the streets of Whiterun, late for his first day of school there. Oh man, I can't start out like this! Enzo whined in his head. A few minutes later, Sorcerers was in view. It was a pretty big school, bigger than your average one. But that was probably common, since it's a magic school. Enzo stepped into a puddle of water just outside the school gates. The water blinded him, causing his next step to lead his face to the floor.
He laid there on the ground infront of Sorcerers. Several students looked at him with confusion. I cannot believe my luck is going to turn out this way. He thought. Getting to his feet, he takes another look at the school, and sighs. I have to do something useful.

Volitaire was standing outside in his backyard with his older brother, Einso. They were practicing their magic for the morning. Volitaire fired black bolts, teeming with a dark power and howled as it traveled. Einso threw up a teal colored ethereal wall, the edges and sides ordained with decorative looking pointers and patterns, blocking the incoming bolt of energy. Einsop hopped back and summoned two magma and pieces of earth from the ground swirling around him and they both launch around the wall and coming towards Volitaire. Volitaire silently gasped and clamped his hands together and a light purple seal formed in front of his hands and a large undead man rose, taking the blow of the two magma blasts. The undead man burned and fell back down to the earth. Volitaire raised his hand and red spheres slowly traveling from his hand and to various places in the ground, 5 in total landed making pentagrams that glew once formed. Einso look around and tried and tried to figure out what was his brother planning. He was coated in the same teal ethereal energy and flew up. He flexed his hand strait and formed a icy katana. He grabed the hilt and darted at Volitaire, ready to strike. Volitaire focused on Einso and shot a volley of black blast bolts at his descending brother. Some missed but one impacted only to be blocked by his sword. Einso repositioned himself and attempted to strike, Volitaire quickly layed his hand on the ground and a red pentagram formed right under it. He jumped back and Einso landed right on the pentagram and a flurry of soul-like entities spun around Einso, suspending him in the air and leaving him immobile. "Nice one, little guy..." "You know me to trap you in my pentagrams. I'd figured you'd port' your way out of this one." "Not enough time to cast one. I would've touched it anyway and the spell would've carried over with me. Quick thinking, Voli." Volitaire dispelled the pentagrams and laughed. "Well, you did teach me everything I know, Einso."

Nikola looked down at the student that fell down with a slight crash. He then knelt down and switched the clipboard from the nook of his elbow to his right hand, cocking his head some.
"May I sign you in? You are a minute late, you know." he said, his voice marked with a slight mechanical English accent. He looked kind of tired and bored, but he really truly wasn't. Being able to meet all the new students was very interesting to him, and even though he was the quiet sort, there was nothing as exhilarating then seeing the new faces that would fill the school.
"I am Nikola Brynn, student body president of Sorcerers."
-
Enzo looked up to Nikola, and shot up to his feet. standing in a "attention" military stance. "Enzo Ferrari, reporting into the school!"
He shouted nervously. He had no idea how Sorcerers worked, and had figured it to be a strict and scary school. He had even wore the schools uniform from a few years ago, but the school abandoned the uniforms long ago. It didn't matter though, his pants were wet from the small puddle he had got himself into.
"Yes, I'd like to sign up for Sorcerers!"
-
"Enzo?" He stood up as well, and started to flip through the papers. "Oh, here you are. You're already signed up and your paperwork is ready." Nikola said, nodding his head. A slight smile touched his lips, but it was a faint one.
"If you go inside and wait with the other students, opening ceremonies will commence soon." he said, stepping aside to let him in.
-
"Thank you." Enzo said to Nikola. It didn't seem as if anyone was mad over him being late. But it was too soon to tell. He made his way into the front door of the school, which was the lobby. The lobby contained a staircase to the second floor, where classrooms continued down each end of the school. Several other new students were waiting too, and he had positioned himself with the other waiting students.
Everyone seemed to be looking towards the stairs, as if they were waiting for someone.
-
Daniel cursed through the school placing each foot in front of the other as if he knew where he was going. Of course he had to maintain the facade lest the older kids swarm like vultures to a carcass or tigers to a small antelope. Daniel's eyes fell on, no... more like snapped to someone with military like discipline, by the name of Enzo. A smile crept across Daniel's face. He drifted over to the bespectacled man who sent Enzo on his way. It looks like I won't be lost very longer Daniel thought. "Do know where I'm supposed to be?"
-
Chelsea walked past the man with the clipboard, even though she knew she probably should have been signed in too. She just didn't feel like talking to anyone, or being seen. The sun it seemed was out mocking her again. She despised the sun. It hurt her eyes and burned her skin all the time. She very much preferred the dark of night.
Her arms were wrapped tightly over three rather thin looking books as she walked up the steps to the school, her long black hair trailing behind her slim body.
-
"Yes, but first you need to sign in. You're late you know- a bad start to your first day." Nikola said to the kid who just walked up. Another young lady came up from behind him and he then put an arm out. "Again, I say, you need to sign in. Names please?" he asked, sounding a bit cocky with power.
-
Volitaire relaxed himself and sat on the lounge chair in the backyard, sipping some berry extract to replenish his mana pool. "You know, it's the first day of school for your friend, Enzo." Volitaire sipped the last of the extract. "Oh, yeah. I should go and greet him. But it's nearly class time, Einso. You'd think I'd catch up to him?" "Maybe. If you use your Icarus' Wings spell and fly over there." Volitaire thought about it for a moment... "Fine, I guess I can go wish him luck. He can be a mess sometimes." Volitaire sprouted black and greenish wings. "Icarus away." Volitaire flew off to the school. Volitaire flew over trees and by other people walking towards the school. He had a bit of a accident and hit narrowly evaded a branch and lost his focus. He staggered and rolled onto the ground, but he quickly tried to recover. "That was embarrassing..." Volitaire blushed and tried to hide his face. He looked at the front of the school. Noticing students, and teachers alike wandering around. "So, this is the school he was telling me about..."
-
Chelsea coldly looked up at the man who now had his arm out in front of her. She didn't want to talk. But if she wanted to get in, she would have to say her name, which usually made people not want to be near her. Since after all, she was named after her recently diseased grand parents who just so happened to specialize in dark magic. She looked down and mumbled her name, hoping nobody else would catch it. "Chelsea Harper.." Her grandmother's name has been Chelsea, and her grandfather's name had been Harper. Yes they were bad people, or rather that's what many people would like to say they were. And so everyone usually concluded that Chelsea was in turn, bad too. But that was hardly the case.
With that tiny introduction of herself, she ducked under the man's arm and into the school where hopefully, she could find some place that wasn't crowded.
-
By now, a large amount of fresh new students were in the lobby, all conveying conversations with each other. Enzo stood in the back, not sure what was going on. Suddenly, Silence fell upon the group of students as an aged man stood atop the stairs, overlooking everyone. "So many young and new faces, I'm truly glad to see Sorcerers gain more students. Every year, at this exact day and time, I stand here, and welcome each pack of students. Now, you all come from different backgrounds, places, and languages, but I can assure you that Sorcerers will feel like home to you, as this is no ordinary school." The man explained.
"As you spend your time here, you will learn to work with others, and eventually go onto missions, to heal a world long sickened with evil. I pray every night that each and everyone of you will do good with your magical abilities." His voice almost sounded as if he was reflecting upon something. "I, headmaster Boone, will personally see to it that you will leave here a better person than when you came in. Welcome to Sorcerers." With that, Master Boone ended his welcoming speech. Enzo noticed all of the new students were practically glowing from the encouragement, and Enzo couldn't help but relate, and smile.
Enzo's backpack started to shake and move around, as if something were inside it.
He silently laughed.
-
Nikola lowered his arm and then glanced back at the girl after she ducked under. Odd young lady. he thought before sighing and checking off her name. The girl's name seemed familiar, but he passed it off for the moment before hearing a voice- the older one of the headmaster.
He turned to the others before nodding his head and just letting them in. He walked off, coming to a stop near the staircase, where he could hear the speech. The same one from last year. After a moment or so, Nikola got bored, and started to zone out at the board. A sigh left his lips and then the speech ended, then he perked up. He had been told to start to help the new students to their classes.
-
Daniel signed in after stopping glasses guy again. Then he crept into the room where the speech was taking place. All he heard was "-elcom to Sorcerers" From the headmaster. What an absolutely perfect day. Daniel's eyes were like dice until they found the girl called Chelsea. Honestly I need to have at least one proper introduction. Those words were in his mind but he did manage to get her attention and introduce himself as Daniel Exavier or the X factor for short. No wait, scratch the last X factor for short part, that was in his mind too...
-
Chelsea stood far behind the group of blabbering students. She rolled her eyes at all of their excited faces. Her eyes wandered over all of them, but then widened a little as she saw a boy approaching her. Her face was instantly flushed as she blinked and panicked a little inside her head. Why me?! There are hundreds of students besides me!
Chelsea forced herself to look away, pretending to be distracted by her shoes. She was a bright girl, but not so bright when it came to making conversation with people.
-
Volitaire walked down the front yard of the school. He eyed all the students in the active atmosphere. Far from what he was used to with his brother. He was hoping he wouldn't be stopped by any teachers on his way to look for Enzo to wish him luck on the school year. "I should have myself vanish...but that would cause attention...I'm already seen and I don't know how they handle magic use outside classes." Volitaire was thinking out loud, nearly bumping into rushing students. He really wasn't used to such a crowded area.
-
Laughing a little because Chelsea acted just like he would in this situation a while ago he added, "I have never introduced myself to a cascade of black hair before... There's a first time for eveything I guess. What magic do you use?" Her head was still turned away from him but that was something Daniel was used to. Being shunned. No not being shunned but left alone because the people around him cared so much about his education... That's why he was here... away from his family and friends. I guess he was still close to his friends, imaginary ones follow you everywhere...
-
"Ah, Shadow and or blood..." Chelsea was very reluctant to tell this stranger about what type of magic she used. If she had told about what she could use, she probably would not have been admitted into the school. No, she promised herself that she would forget about every dark magic spell, every hour of training. She would forget. Eventually. She shook her head and forced her empty orange eyes to look upon whom she was talking to.
She tilted her head, taking in the details of the boy in front of her. He seemed nice. But then again, looks were sometimes always deceiving. "Um, what about you?" She fiddled with the ends of her hair a little. A habit she got used to whenever she got nervous.
-
Volitaire makes his way down the walkway to the doors of the school. He was shocked he wasn't stopped yet. He opened the double doors and saw even more people. He wondered how Enzo could handle so many people. Volitaire was obviously nervous and outside his comfort zone. He peered through the mounds of people hoping to find his only friend. "Dammit, Einso. You provoke me to do the more dumbest of things..." He thought as he turned around and bumped into a brown haired man with a checklist. Volitaire flustered and said excuse me. Hoping the man would forget the matter.
-
Daniel resisted the urge to drown in the memories of his child hood "I think I'm a Necromancer." Saying what magic he used and not being cast out was very nice indeed. Then again, it is hard to be make fun of a person when they are almost identical to you, situation wise.
-
Chelsea kept her head tilted as her eyes continued to wander around the room, but still listening to the boy before her. "Oh, that's..Neat" She couldn't find the right word to use, nor did she know how to react. She bit her bottom lip and stood there awkwardly. "So um..What's your name anyway?"
She thought it kind of rude of herself to not ask, but then she mentally scolded herself for setting herself up with telling this boy her name. She hoped that he hadn't realized what her name meant once she told him..
-
It was nice to be new. newness brought curiosity and gave a legitimate excuse to talk to people too. That's why he loved the first day of school. "Daniel." Grinning he added "You don't have to tell me yours though, I heard it when you signed in."
-
As Master Boone went to answer some questions from some aspiring magicians, Enzo put down his backpack, and opened it. A small fox jumped out of it, from the looks of it, the animal had been stuck in the backpack for a while, and was desperate for air. "Thank goodness.." it said with a high pitched voice. There was a trace of magical essence coming from the tip of the foxes tail, signalling that it's no normal animal. "Sorry Kenji, I almost forgot about you in there." Enzo said, kneeling down to the fox. "Ehh, it's alright, but next time i'm taking off your finger."
Enzo noticed Chelsea and Daniel talking. The air around them and their conversation reminded him of the bad luck he's had with females in the past years. He laughed to himself nervously, trying to shake off the embarrassing memories. I should avoid all contact with females.. they're bad luck for me. He figured.
The crowd started to disperse around the school, since none of the classes were starting yet. Enzo walked over to the class list, examining all of the possible courses he could take. Kenji, his pet fox, sat next to him, and also gazed at the bulletin. "What kind of magic are you going to have?" Kenji asked excitedly "I.. don't know, actually." Enzo replied.
-
"ohh..you did?" Chelsea silently cursed herself, and hoped he was one of those rare people who hadn't herd of Chelsea and Harper before. But what if he already knew and was just being nice to her out of pity? Some of the color drained from her face as she stood there, asking a bunch of questions in her head about why this boy named Daniel was talking to her.
Her arms wrapped tightly around her books again as she looked around, trying to distract herself. "So um, do you know what class your going to be taking..?" She blinked and tried gaining her composure back while speaking to Daniel.
-
Daniel's face went blank. Oh you have to take classes in this school.... Realizing that he didn't know who what where how or when to go anywhere meant that he had to confront the student aid guy. Coolness, my adventure begins. His face returned to normal and he realized he hadn't answered for a while. "Nope." he replied with a cheery ring to his voice.
-
"I like the mental class." Kenji said. "You should take it." Enzo was struck with confusion. "Me? I don't think I'll be any good with mental abilities.. let alone a mental classroom. Maybe Destruction?" Enzo suggested, still looking at the magic classes bulletin. "I never took you for the destructive one either..." Kenji replied silently.
Down one of the halls leading to the lobby, an explosion is heard as a fragile student skids across the lobby on his face. Enzo and Kenji turn around to see Red standing over the defeated student. "You need to toughen up, seriously." Red told the boy. The abused student could only whimper in response. Then, Red notices all the new students in the lobby. "Wha..? Oh, I forgot it was this time of year... Damn welps." Red proceeds to kick the student back into the hallway which they came from, but he stops when he catches the sight of the only person wearing the schools uniform from 3 years ago. He gives Enzo a nasty look, then walks over to him.
"You're kidding, right?" He asked. "H-hey, I've got no beef with you." Enzo said.
Kenji had shrunk down just from the overbearing magical presence Red had. "I've beaten up new students before, but never one that was this stupid." Some of the more experienced students silently laughed. After all, it was pretty ridiculous to make a mistake like that. "I'll let you off today, but tomorrow, don't bring this uniform to school again, It's a reason why we don't wear those around here." Red said. He turned around and walked back into the halls, leaving Enzo nearly having a heart attack. "Did you sense all that magic he had on him?!" Kenji uttered. Enzo nodded, still watching Red leave.
-
"Oh, should we go look then?" Chelsea slightly hoped that he would say yes, but then again she didn't want to be bothersome. She looked back at Daniel and decided to walk over to what looked like was the listing of all the magic classes you could take.
Her arms were firmly gripped around her books as she looked at the little scene the two boys made. She rolled her eyes a little. School had barely started and already she could tell it wouldn't be much fun here.
-
Daniels pondered at the list of classes saw a few that looked promising. he whipped around eyebrow's furrowed as he stood on his toes looking for someone to help. "I guess we should look for our bespectacled buddy." The school was big but his eyes snapped to a familiar face. Enzo. Looking back and motioning for Chelsea to follow. "I've seen that guy, maybe he knows where to find the student dude!"
-
Chelsea tilted her head and started to walk behind Daniel who supposedly knew the other boy standing there. Reluctantly, she followed close behind Daniel. Not too close, but not too far away. She peered down at the floor, watching her's and Daniel's feet as they stepped. It seemed they both had rather dull looking shoes. But who cared about a small detail like that?
She sighed and shook her head, causing some strands of her long black hair to fall in front of her face as she continued to walk. She really wasn't used to following people around, and she certainly wasn't one to ask for help. Still, This Daniel character seemed nice enough, maybe they could become friends..Just then Chelsea winced, and covered her ears which caused her books to smack to the ground.
A rough, screeching voice was chanting inside of her head. 'Friends? You need no human friends! Why play in the light when all you've ever wanted is here in the dark? We're your friends, come play come play!' The chant seemed to go on forever when suddenly, she forced her eyes open.
