Maya excused herself to go get some breakfast. The new dragon did need food, and Enzo had become too popular for Maya's liking. All of the people were making her uncomfortable. She bought a plate scrambled eggs and sat back down at the table, sitting beside Voltaire. As she listened, she fed the dragon bits and pieces, eating very little herself. For the dragon, eating was a mostly automatic process and required little conscious effort from Maya. She occasionally glanced at everyone at the table, particularly the girl across from her. She admired the way that the girl fought and wondered if she could learn something from her. Once the girl glanced back, Maya looked back down at her dragon and no longer looked up.
-
Silver noticed the girl glancing around, similar to what she herself was doing. She eyed the girl, noticing her long brown hair and hazel eyes. Overall, she was a pretty girl, but she wondered what her story was, especially what the dragon was about. She looked to the little dragon, noticing it eating and squirming around in the girls arms. Silver had a soft spot for animals, especially baby animals. She looked at the girl again and noticed she was still looking down, so she spoke up.
"What's the deal with the dragon?" she asked, nodding towards the little guy.
-
"What's the deal with the dragon?" Maya was surprised, and took a few seconds to ponder the question. There was no quick way to explain it. "The dragon was... given to me. It was in an egg and supposed to be dead, but I managed to revive it." She conveniently left out how the dragon no longer had a soul, and it was only her controlling the body. That part might be a little weird or confusing to someone who didn't understand. Maya only looked at the girl for a few seconds before looking back down.
-
Silver looked at the girl with curiosity filling her mind. She's sure a shy one, isn't she? she thought to herself.
"Huh... Well, he's pretty cute. Does he have a name?" Silver opened the bag of baby carrots she had earlier and popped one in her mouth. They were very crunchy, but incredibly delicious.
She had her bag in her lap, still, holding it close to her. She didn't think anyone knew what was inside, nor did she want anyone to know.

The whole event that went down yesterday did very little to shake the school. All the regular students were pretty much going about and news of the explosion at Castle Aurora was censored from the general public. Besides the staff and the individuals of Team Valor and the villains, nobody else knew about the occurrence except for people who assumed i was just fireworks gone wrong. "The power that Sorcerers have over the media is surprising. I would have expected a couple of worried expression here and there." Joanne was copying her notes down attentively in the Physical class. She did not notice that Ling, behind her, got into a comfortable sleeping position and the textbook was obviously being used to cover his sleeping face. But no one can really tell with his eyes always been closed.
-
"I was never good at naming things." Maya smiled with tired eyes. She looked up at the girl. "Maybe you could help me name him. Also, maybe you could show me a few fighting tricks of yours." The dragon was settled in her lap and resting mindlessly. This creature seemed dead and alive at the same time. It was merely a vessel with no thoughts or feelings of its own. She was reminded of the man from long ago, and her thoughts returned to that time. To others, it might have seemed like she was daydreaming. She snapped back into reality and continued, "You are very skilled in hand-to-hand combat, it would seem. I have little skill in that area."
-
Silver scratched her head. "...I'm not really too good with names either.. But when I think about it, I've always liked the name Ryuu. It's Japanese, means 'dragon spirit'. What do ya think?"
She looked down at her bag. "As for showing you some of my moves.. I'm not really too good of a teacher either, but I guess I could try. And I damn well better seem skilled in hand-to-hand combat, it's all I've ever practiced." she said in an almost sarcastic tone, her lips curling into a grin. When she thought about it, hand-to-hand combat really IS all she's ever practiced or been trained in. Silver sighed.

Why would she be given a legitimate dragon egg? Kenji wondered. His face and hat was covered in ramen, but he was still in deep thought. Enzo finished his bowl and stretched out over the chair. He saw the headmaster standing behind him, and jumped, falling out of the chair. Why is everyone doing that...? He wondered has he stood up, facing Boone. He smiled at the group and said "Greetings, Team Valor." Kenji's concentration was broken by his voice, and was now paying full attention to him. "I believe a certain leader has a certain report he wants to give me?" He said. Enzo stared blankly at him for a moment. Not getting what he meant. Kenji facepalmed, and turned back to his ramen, realizing that he ate it all already.
"Oh!" Enzo shouted out. "Do we have to go somewhere else?" He asked the headmaster. "Don't worry. The cafe is fine. Now tell me about what you saw." Enzo began filling in the headmaster with what had happened at the island, and with Aurora. But he didn't mention Montesque at all.
"I see. I'm sorry to hear about your brother, Volitaire." He said. "I've given you your reward for the mission. It's in your funds. Now, you do know about the tournament coming, right?" Enzo sat down, clearly interested in whatever tournament he was talking about. "No..." He said lowly. "It's when all of the magic schools nearby come together to compete in a battle royal. It's basicly school versus school. A very popular event." Enzo had a feeling that he knew where this was going. "Since team Valor is pretty much the strongest team here at the moment, Sorcerers wants your team to be our 'flagship' if you will." Enzo shot up from his chair, actually making Boone flinch in surprise. "We'll do it!" He yells out with his fist clenched. Enzo stared off into what seemed like nothing, with a determined face.
Kenji facepalmed again. "If you want us to do it, you'll have to send back those stacks of homework from our mailbox in the dorms." Kenji requested. Boone nodded. "That's fine, as long as it's school buisness, homework is not an issue."
Red sat in the physical class, often glancing back at Ling and Joanne. Those two were so useless.. That girl wasn't even at Nor to help us.. New kids. He shook his head.
-
Volitaire kept to his book, and flipped a page and found another folded note. He opened it behind his book an quietly read it. Even though he didn't read the current page, he flipped it again and hid his face behind the book. Quietly sobbing. "Dammit.." He quietly exclaimed. He was a little lost in thought but came back to when he heard Boone tell him about his brother and a reward. "I..thank you, Master Boone. You didn't have to reward me. I wouldn't have much choice with those funds anyhow." Volitaire's voice was a little shaken, but he gained some control. He almost didn't care for the Battle Royale, Boone mentioned. He closed his book with the note. "Enzo, I have to speak with you privately." Volitaire got up and walked to the other side of the cafe, near the doors.
-
Maya smiled weakly at the rest of the group. No homework and free combat training? Sounded fine to her. Maya's sensitive hearing caught the sobs of Voltaire. She frowned at him and put a hand on his back. "Hey..." The rest of the group was still focused on the headmaster. His nonchalance about the death of Voltaire's brother was unnerving, and, as Voltaire was sitting next to her, she was going to try and comfort him, but he shrugged it off and asked to speak with Enzo alone. She sat properly back in her seat, looking at the empty plate.
-
Enzo stood up and followed Volitaire without question. Like Kenji, if it's coming from him.. it's important. He thought to himself. He looked back at the group at the table and signaled that he'd only be a moment.
-
"These notes.." Volitaire opened his book and showed him the two notes. One from his mother, the other from his grandfather. They read;"Volitaire, me and your mother kept you away from this book so you don't try and control the forces of the Nil. I won't be alive forever, and this 'partnership' your father coordinated with that Montesque fella won't end well either. I feel it in my gut. And your mother doesn't trust him either. That being said, whenever I do pass on and your mother allows you to open this book and learn of the magic I created for emergency use only, I want you to know I want you to pick this school of magic up. No, not just you. Your brother too. He's a gifted one that boy. You help take care of him once you're old enough to live on your own. Look at your old man, getting off tangent. But, we all know Montesque has been helping us unlock the secrets to Time Magic. But I can't help but feel he's going to cheat us. So, I completed this tome for you. This form of magic rips through the forces of time. Why? You're controlling the matter around you. The space that flows with time. Opening holes that transcend into a timeless plane of existence that abruptly pushes ours against the will of Time. If this Montesque does betray us, use this magic to take him down. -Volitaire the II." "This magic counters Montesque's, this could be our only way to defeat him. Or at least harm him." The other note slipped from his book page and fell on the floor. The note itself wasn't legible from the floor, but all that could be read was a very beautifully written "Your Mother" at the end. Volitaire reached down and picked it up. Trying to hide it from Enzo.

Joanne glared over at Red who seemed to have been pestering the two with his glances. He patience was wearing thin and Ling also noticed it as well by looking through the crack of his textbook. "I'm not going to stop you if you want to do something about it Joanne. As long as we don't get bothered about it." A single coin as already placed in the palm of Joanne's hand and she hid her aim well to make sure that nobody could see it. She had already got her target in her mind and with one shot, she fired the speeding coin bullet at one of Red's chair leg, destroying the leg and knocking the chair off balance. Joanne kept her calm posture and continued writing down her notes as if she was not involved with it. Ling still kept his comfortable sleeping position.
Ling was recalling the meeting in the morning back at the organization.
The small booklet was placed on a desk made of pure unprocessed diamond. It almost looked like ivory, but a connoisseur could recognize the difference. The office was pretty much a sign of royalty or bourgeoisie. Ling stood at the front with a man in a very clean bleached suit sitting with his leg crossed and back turned towards Ling. "I would like to congratulate the two of you to successfully retrieve this document. It may not be the original article but what is written in it pretty much sums up what I need to know." "We make sure that we always do our 120% when it comes to the mission handed by the organization. If I had stepped in, I might have been able to retrieve the book before it was destroyed." A gloved hand raised to stop Ling in his track. "No need to worry about small detail. Aurora is not what we are looking for. It's more of an insurance. No, you are still to keep to the real objective Master Ling. I heard from that Old Boonie about a fun event coming up. I thought that it would be a great opportunity if you take part of it." Ling just let out his usual laugh. "It sounds like it would be a huge bother for the two of us. I do hope you compensate well for all of our trouble." The suited man just nodded. "Of course." Ling let out his chuckle and bowed before leaving the office.

Enzo saw the note that fell from Volitaires book. Seeing as how quick he was to hide it, Enzo decided not to ask about it. "Do we know where Montesque is?" He asked him.
Red fell flat on his face, the pain from his stab wound had made it worse. The strict teacher was quick to notice it. "Red, I told you not to fool around in class." The teacher said, with a stern glance. He adjusted his glasses and it caught the sunlight from outside the classroom. "Get out of my classroom." He demanded. Red quietly put the chair up by the side of the room, grabbed his books, and left. The things I do for you, old man. He thought to himself. He had also remembered of the promise he made Volitaire. No bullying the other students. They barely seem like students, anyway. What have they learned? Red passed by a few students who went quiet as they crossed paths. They started to whisper to each other when Red passed them. He didn't seem to say anything about that, either. Something's up with them. He thought.
-
Volitaire shook his head. "I'm sorry, but no. He managed to escape after he saved us from the blast. He didn't even mention what he's doing afterwards. But for now, it's good knowing he no longer has the book. We should probably train ourselves. That Battle Royale is perfect for you. Just don't focus on Montesque, worry about yourself and your school-life." Volitaire made a sudden cough, a small side effect from his virus. A short time after he gets a small cold from his immune system being weakened.
-
Silver yawned and leaned on the table, letting her head fall into her hands. She looked over to Voltaire and Enzo, just in time to see Voltaire let a note slip and fall to the ground. He picked it up quickly, and was clearly trying to hide it. She wondered what it was. Silver looked back to Maya, who was still sitting across from her. "Hey, what's the deal with that guy? The one over there with Enzo?"
-
Volitaire put the note back in his book, but noticed from the corner of his eye that the girl with black hair was looking over at him. He blushed suddenly and hid under his hair again. "Enzo.. Volitaire said nervously. "I'm gonna go on ahead and get down to getting a hang of this magic. I'll catch you later.." Volitaire had a odd shake in his voice. As if he was bothered by something. He walked out, book clutched in his hand, and went down the hallway. Not many people were walking about, class was beginning soon.
-
Silver watched as Voltaire left, grinning slightly, seeing this as her chance to strike. She slowly got up, holding her things, nodded to those who remained, and followed him for a bit before deciding to stop him. She put her hand on his shoulder lightly, trying to make him think she wasn't a threat, even though he probably saw the whole thing with that other guy earlier.
"Hey, are you alright? I saw you talking with Enzo, and I saw that note slip out.. You seemed pretty upset about something, so I figured I'd ask."
She decided it would be best to try a calmer approach at first, so maybe he'd feel like she's just concerned. In reality, she was just curious.
-
Volitaire remained quiet for a brief moment. Trying to gather the will to reply. "My brother. He died yesterday. The only family I had left after the rest was taken away from me. The note, was something placed from some old family, nothing special..." Volitaire turned away so she wouldn't see his face.
-
Silver stared at him for a moment. It was clear he was telling the truth, but she wasn't expecting him to actually tell her, let alone tell her something that personal.
"...Oh.. I'm sorry.."
She looked down. She didn't really know what else to say.
"..What are the books for? They don't seem like normal books." Something didn't feel right. Why was she being nice to him? She didn't really feel the need to be harsh, for some reason. Not to mention this is the most talking she's done in a while. She took a step back, feeling a bit uneasy.
-
Volitaire held it up. "It's fine. You're not the heartless monster who killed them all. But this book is simply called Nil. Meaning nothing, no existence or value. A clever little name my Gandfather gave this spell tome. It shows you how to control the empty void around you. Making it a lethal weapon. Nearly world destroying if mastered and used in the wrong hands." Volitaire began to wonder how come she was so concerned, usually no one asked about his problems because he hid them from others, including Enzo.
-
The tome interested her. Shows you how to control the empty void around you? That sounds like it could be really helpful, especially with what she already knows.
Tch, I've put all my bad actions in the past, she had to remind herself.
"Hmm.. I wonder if I could ever have a peak inside?" she smiled softly at him, hoping maybe that would help convince him to let her see.
-
Volitaire was a little unsure. It was his Grandfathers life long work, an he didn't know her much. But she seemed no harm, and his nice nature towards those who go out their way for him began to take over. "U-umm..sure.." Volitaire handed her the tome, but forgot about his note inside, too focused on the fact she's actually speaking to him.
-
"..Wait, really?" Silver was shocked as she gladly took the tome and glanced over the cover. She took a minute to absorb the fashion of the book, the binding, the pages, everything about it. She smiled. Before long, Silver opened the book a few pages in only to find a note that was left to Voltaire. She picked it up and opened it. "..What's this?.." she asked as she began to read it.
-
Volitaire hair jumped. He instantly turned around and shrieked. "Wait! That's a final note from my mother!" Volitaire blushed and his eyes watered a bit, he took the note back but noticed that he overreacted. "I'm sorry..this note is the last thing I have left from my mom before she passed. And I just recently found it so I'm a little attached to it.." Volitaire felt horrible for his sudden outburst and looked down to the ground. "You can read through the book if you want.."
-
Silver looked at him and thought about his reaction for a moment. "U-um... Maybe I should do that another time.." She closed the book and looked down. "I-I didn't mean to um.. Invade your privacy.. I guess.." What was she saying? Who cares? He's just another person who can maybe help her advance her magic. So why did she feel so bad? Something about this guy really made her feel off.. But she just couldn't place what it was. She stared at him, trying to figure him out. He seemed to be so open, yet why did he seem so closed off at the same time? Silver took another small step back, holding out the book in case he wanted it back.
-
Volitaire took the book still feeling horrible. "No, no it's okay. I just umm..got embarrassed.." Volitaire kept the book to his side. "Will you be going back to Enzo?" He asked.
-
"P-Perhaps.." She continued to stare at him with her big green eyes. This was bugging her, and she was getting angry. A stranger she just met should not have this much of an impact on her. Her being angry was never good though, she needed to get out of there, to somewhere where she could slice the life out of something.. Something not so innocent.
"I.. Um... I need to go.. S-Sorry.." She quickly looked away and walked off out a nearby door, clinging to her bag so much that her knuckles were white.
-
"I'm sorry.." Volitaire saw how tightly she gripped her bag and felt a little worried. He thought he said something wrong. "I guess this is why I don't do much female interaction, eh.." Volitaire continued to leave out of Sorcerers and headed back out towards his small home in the forest.

Enzo had been gone for a while, He was shown the basement floor to Sorcerers. Which contained the saferoom and a training room. He and Kenji went to the training room. Kenji had found a way for Enzo to switch between forms easily, and he practiced switching for a while, then they began to work on combat training. "How hot are your flames?" He asked Enzo as he switched to his Hyper mode. "Hot enough." He replied. "Well, you need a ranged attack. I've only seen you attack from close range." Enzo nodded, and tossed his jacket to the side. "Try using those flames as a weapon." Kenji suggested. Enzo faced the wall, and lifted up his hand behind himself. "I've got an idea." He said.
What if i...

"Guh.. it's hard to control!" He shouted. The flames bursting out of his hands nearly drowned out his voice in it's loudness. The beam hits the wall of the training room and wildly moves around, tearing it up. He stopped the beam and stood up straight. The wall was turned black from the flame. "That's nice, but it needs a name." Kenji stated. "I know," Enzo clenched his fist in front of himself. "I'll call it X-burner."
Red had been quite pissed off, So he headed down into the basement floor to let off some steam. He heard the noise and walked into the training room. "The hell is with the noise?" He asked the two.
"It's a training room." Kenji sneered back at Red. He shrugged and put his books aside. "You should pay more attention to your team members." Red said. "Why?" "Something's odd about that Chinese guy and the bitch."
I knew it wasn't a good thing if a person like Red and Joanne met. They'd break something, or worse. Enzo thought. "You can atleast give them some respect and refer to them by their actual names. They're new here as I am." Red scoffed, taking off his jacket."Right. Remind me when you wake up from being such an unrealistic, oblivious toddler."
