BBCode questions
1. Shouldn't the [code] bbcode allow to put bbcode by displaying it as... code? lol (did that make sense?) At least in all other forums it always did.
I tried to put the bbcode for each banner from my ooc reference thread, and when I replied to Schizo last time about the sig, buuut even putting the bbcode inside [code] tags made it display as a linked image instead as the code itself. Just... inside a code box.
2. [imgright] and [imgleft] weren't working for me when I tried them, since Neko you'd said they were available? It just displayed as broken code though.
3. Do we have "strike-through" and "spoiler" codes? (strikethrough would be really useful for IC journals, I tried the usual [s] and [strike] but neither worked lol)
I think that's it.

These are the codes the forum supports currently: http://www.wtfrpg.com/forum/misc.php?do=bbcode
1) Here we use [noparse][/noparse] to display code without it making itself work. xD
2) Nah - they hadn't been ported over yet. And then our security guy (Insomniac) realized that I'd had them added to dev and nixed them entirely because they presented a security risk for users and the site. :c So we'll never have those, unfortunately. When he realized they were being used on Menewsha, he removed them there as well.
3) No, not yet, but we will. xD Hopefully in the next few days. As you can see from our homepage, we're sort of mid coding push at the moment. Once that's fixed up they may have been ported over. xD (It's why I have that BBCode link bookmarked, so I can check and see if they made it over yet. xD )
-
Oookay then, thanks! Though tbh I'm interested on why [imgright] and left would be a security vulnerability, so if someone could explain it to me over PM or otherwise I would be very appreciative o_O (Because I own a couple forums and one has that, and I don't have nifty security people, and I feel to see where the security thing could be bad, so yeah XD)
-
I'd have to have it explained to me again, but essentially the idea is it doesn't verify the URL it's surrounding and people who know what they're doing can use it for bad things (which were unspecified to me). xD;
-
I see, that makes some sense. Thank you. :)
-
No problem. xD Wish I knew enough to help you out so you could make a decision whether to remove them on your own site/bring it to the attention of those who do that sort of thing. xD;
-
'nother BBCode question... how do the DICE tags work? XD do you put a number in for sides or... ?
-
xD No problem:
[dice=#x]#y[/dice]
#x is how many dice you wish to roll. #y is how many sides they have.
So, for example, if you want to roll three 20-sided dice, it looks like this:
[dice=3]20[/dice]
And becomes this:
The 20-sided dice lands on 3
The 20-sided dice lands on 4
The 20-sided dice lands on 15

That's a intresting feature. ::Tests::

Didn't work... I wanted it to roll 5 times. :(

just trying it my self, same as the person before attempting to roll 5 sets of 30s
changing my dice xp, better rolls?
-
Hmmm... I'm not sure why it didn't work for you, Brook V... Maybe there was a typo in the part where you wanted to roll five times and the code interpreted it as 1 because of the typo?
-
I think I added the # actually. Will test again.

Works now. Btw when you edit or add a reply (that affects your previos reply) the dice result changes.
-
If you refresh, it should correct itself to the original roll. xD (If it doesn't then I remembered incorrectly. >_> )
-
on my computer both my self and brook have the exact same answers now, weird, huh?

Well, at least it seems to work like normal when you roll single die... Will report the bug with using multiple die rolls. >:P

Alex, you need to make sure you are using the correct seed value. It looks to be changing on edit.

Fixed it. Alex, please sync the plugin to dev. Chuck me a message sometime, and I'll explain the issue ;)
