People were rushing around, running in and out of the operating room down the hall. I felt sick to my stomach . was she okay?
After a long while, I woke up and was very sore. The doctors were grinning. "Welcome back! The surgery was a success!"
"Astoria.." I said, eight away sitting up, and brushing he hair from her eyes, I was happy. So happy... The surgery was done.. And she was fine. But now.. Radiation treatment..
"Hey.." I whispered tiredly, looking up at him. I squeezed his hand and kissed it softly. "I'm okay.."
I kissed her hand and said her ring back on. "Im so proud of you .." I said, smiling over at her mom.
I held my mom's hand and smiled. I had to stay here a for a while to recover. The doctor said I was allowed to eat. "Can y'all get me something?" I asked.
I nodded right away. "Of course, I'll see if they have some bacon." I said, and winked before walking out of the roon .
I called my dad, who was so relieved that he cried. Then I chatted with my mom until Angus returned with my bacon. "My hero." I said, kissing his cheek softly.
I smiled, and helped her sit up and I set the plate on her lap. "My Angel." I said, and pecked her lips gently. "I made sure they made it extra crispy for you."
I chuckled and took a bite. "It's delicious." I said with a smile. I ate quietly and I could see the my mom seemed a little down when she looked at me and Angus. I imagine she misses dad..
(What if her mom and dad get back together? (: could be cute. Or there could be big family drama or something.)
"Tomorrow the doctor will be in to talk about treatment after. Radiation.." I said, just passing on what was said to me
((Awwh! Yeah!))
I smiled weakly and nodded. "Better than chemo.." I mumbled. Suddenly the door opened and my jaw dropped when I saw who came in.. Dad!
I turned to awe her father. What? He's here! "Hey." I said, laughing softly. "Whole family is here." I said.
I gave my dad a sideways hug. "My flight got delayed, otherwise I would've been able to see you before your surgery." He said and he gave me a teddy bear. I grinned. "Thanks dad." He then turned to my mom and they shared sort of an awkward hug.
"You remember my brother Chase right?" I said after a while, looking at her. He moved out a while ago and I think he was 25 now. He never was really around due to his job. "Well he's in town." I said. I loved my brother and all, just he had a rock hard personality
I smiled. "That's great." I said softly. The doctor came in and said I needed rest and that visiting hours were over. Only one person was allowed to stay. "I'll be fine guys." I said softly, leaning my bed down flat. "Really."
One person can stay? I sighed. I didn't want to leave her, I didn't. "I'll go." I said, and kissed her forehead. "Text me in the morning, alright? I'll get some donuts." I said, with a wink.
I smiled and nodded. "Alright." I answered softly. Him and my mother left and my dad stayed for a while, then he went to his hotel and I finally fell asleep.
I didn't sleep too well to be honest, just worrying. I got everything ready for when she got back, I got her new bed stuff, with the help of her mom and just other things that are nice to have around, knowing the radiation will tire her out and such.
After the next few days I started radiation, which wasnt that bad.. It just made me really tired. I slept a lot. And after I got my stitches out, I was allowed to go home. The doctor rolled me out in a wheelchair and I smiled big at my family.
She couldn't lift any thing for a long while and she had quote a few medications to take. I had it all down and would help her keep on track with them. I pulled the car up and helped her in, and her mom got in as well. Her dad agrees to meet at the house
I listened to my mom and Angus talk until we got to the house. I got out slowly and my dad came out and supported me while we all went inside.
I got her settled in her room, hoping she liked the new bed blankets. "You okay?" I asked her and kissed her nose.
I smiled and nodded. "Yeah. I'll be up and about before you know it." I said softly, laying back. "I love the new bedspread, by the way."
"We will see." I said, smiling. "Just rest as much as you have too. And good, I'm glad." I said, kissing her lips sweetly.
I kissed him back lovingly as I sighed. "I love you." I laid back and closed my eyes, yawning softly.
"I love you too.." I said, and I brushed her hair from her face. I was glad she still had her hair. I knew she loved it, and the radiation was much better for her. The chemo would have been too much.. "When would be a good time for my brother to stop by?" I asked her, maybe in a few days or so.
I shrugged. "Whenever he pleases." I replied with a smile, kissing his hand lightly.
"I'll give it a few days." I said. I looked back into her eyes, just admiring her, that she was still here, and getting better. I didn't know what I would do without her, she kept me in line. "You get some rest okay? I don't want to bug you." I said, heading to the door
"You never bug me babe." I said with a chuckle, but I let him go and I fell asleep and took a nap for a few hours.
