Can I suggest against 150x100? Weird proportion, wouldn't everyone have to redo their character avatars?

Not exactly, the board would leave a 100x100 alone.
Lets leave 150x150 for a while, and see how it goes anyway.

@Gess Would you want the invitation to be in an email, or some other medium?
I'll have to run some stats, to see how many hit-and-run rp starters we have.
Thanks for the feedback!
I'm new to this type of roleplay and roleplay in general so my answers might not be very giving...
What can we do, to make it easier for you to share your roleplays?
No idea.
Whats the #1 reason your rp buddies won't join wtf?
I don't know, haven't asked them. Most of them are on Twitter which is very simple in comparison to this.
If we had a roleplay importer tool, which site(s) would you like to be able to import your roleplays from?
... Twitter?
Would you like to be able to use your facebook account, for a quick login/signup?
Personally? No, I prefer to keep my Facebook account private. But I can see that some people might have use of it.
Would you advertise wtf in your signatures? If not, why?
You can't have signatures on Twitter... and the bio is only 160 characters long. If I had been on another roleplay site where you could have siggs, I would advertise it. :)
Whats your favorite feature here? Is there anything we are missing that other sites already have?
I think you got a lot of nice features. But I haven't been on a roleplay site before so I can't really add to that.
Have to say though that the FFRPG is my favorite feature. :)
However I feel it can be a bit difficult to know who said what to who in FFRPG. I'm used to @replies on Twitter which makes it easier to know who said what to whom. I cannot think how you could use that system on here because of the nature of a forum roleplay.
Can we make it easier to start a rp? What about helping with ideas?
Helping with ideas would be nice. :) I have not tested to make a FFRPG so I cannot add anything to that. My mentor has said he could help me with making a FFRPG.
Would you like an off-topic forum? Can we do anything to make it more fun here?
Don't we already got an off topic forum already?
Any other comments, opinions, complaints, praise?
I think it's a great site. It's easy to learn. :)
i'm too ditzy to have feedback, sorry....
Strude and I were talking and we both agree that you really should make it possible for a game's creator to set up other users as "admins" (ie create locations, etc).
Thanks for getting to this. I've had a window open ready to type for over an hour . . . my nails are talking longer than I want them to.
Anyways, yes we really need to be able to give certain players the ability to create locations within a role play. Mostly, I ask this because my game is similar to your multi-verse except it's a self contained universe with multiple planets; however, everything is created by the players rather than the GM. I basically function as an intermediary and general overseer of everything, but the actual creation and development of the entire galaxy is done by the players. Plus we have a multi-storyline system too . . . so it would be nice to be able to give certain players planning to lead a story line within the carmine universe the ability to create locations.
> w <
I think if your nails are talking we have bigger problems m'dear. :}
Damn those talking nails . . . they kept me up half the night babbling about drying.
This idea has crossed my mind as well, and I'm pretty sure I've seen it suggested before. Not sure if the more people behind an idea matters or helps it get more notice but you can tally my vote in under Poisonous and Strudes idea~ it would be quite useful.

EDIT: But I'm also not sure if any of this is doable under the co-host feature.
Well, I've never used it or played with it at all so I don't have any experience with it but according to... http://www.wtfrpg.com/forum/showthre...nd-Co-Hosts%29 It talks about things that apply to hosts and "co-hosts" which seems to be what you're looking for.
I'm co-host in a RPG but I can only give keys, not edit the RPG. Perhaps the creator decides what a co-host can do?
Oh. You're right!
*turns a bit red* ...
Well, that's pretty helpful.
Haha! Don't worry, I even read the thread and completely forgot about it a month later. (I can be a little flighty at times...) But hopefully that helps out!
I guess just some text you could copy-paste to any sort of PMs and emails could work too. Since emails aren't anymore checked almost at all by most of the people who I know.
You could also have official Facebook account and/or Twitter feed, or do you already? :o
Er, I'll try and be helpful? I still feel new here even though I've been lurking for a few weeks...So we'll see if I can be at all useful.
What can we do, to make it easier for you to share your roleplays?
I'm honestly not sure...It seems simple enough to share roleplays through links and the like.
Whats the #1 reason your rp buddies won't join wtf?
I honestly haven't asked because I'm still scouting it out. Also, I just...Don't have that many rp buddies nowadays. Few that have really been my serious rp partners, anyway. I will perhaps invite one of them in the future, but as for the others...I either don't think they'd be interested or I don't believe their style is very...good. xD I'm a critic of friends and foes alike, sadly.
If we had a roleplay importer tool, which site(s) would you like to be able to import your roleplays from?
Gaia, probably. But I honestly don't think that would work too well since my role-plays for there have primarily been PM and that importer tool would pretty much have to be magic to follow the crazy thread of posts that goes through private messages. I'm not really sure I'd like this idea anyway. I'm fairly sure I wouldn't have any use for it, anyway.
Would you like to be able to use your facebook account, for a quick login/signup?
No. I generally get irritated about that...If you want to offer it as an option, go ahead, but I really dislike that connection. It usually brings a lot of pop-ups I click away with irritation or brings in people I have no desire seeing on this site.
Would you advertise wtf in your signatures? If not, why?
Sure, though most of the places I lurk on don't have signatures, weirdly enough. I think I'd be willing to put it on deviantART? If the signature image was completely awesome and artistic, that is. ;D
Whats your favorite feature here? Is there anything we are missing that other sites already have?
Uhm, I think I like how in depth the full-featured roleplays are. They really make it seem like you're writing in a little world, rather than just posting on a forum. It's hard to explain, and probably sounds a little odd. No other sites I'm on offer as much as wtf, so I'd say you're doing really well.
Can we make it easier to start a rp? What about helping with ideas?
I think a quick help guide section would be helpful for this. I know it was hard for me to figure everything out and I asked a lot of questions at first. As for helping...I'm not sure I know of enough to be of much use. ._.
Would you like an off-topic forum? Can we do anything to make it more fun here?
Off-topic forum sounds like a good idea. It might do well in having us get to know each other better, which I think would be lovely. Even when we're not writing stories, I feel like we should be able to discuss other things and make friends like that.
Any other comments, opinions, complaints, praise?
Subscriptions are not working and it's kind of driving me crazy? I never know when things have updated on either forums or role-plays. I've tried to make it so I'll at least get an e-mail but that's not happening. It would be really excellent if you perhaps had a message center similar to deviantART? Where it notifies you for different kinds of messages. We have the one for messages, but do we have one for subscribed forum replies or role-plays or something like that? That would be extremely useful, in my opinion. That's probably my biggest problem with WTF at the moment. It makes me less interested in trying to really get into this community, to be honest. People are, at heart, lazy. At the moment, WTF is making me work to get to what I actually want to see. xD
Oh, also...The automatic log out times seems rather quick to me? I tend to think over my posts for a long time before submitting them. And sometimes I just write a ton. So finding out that I've been logged out so fast doesn't make me super happy...Is there anyway to change this? I haven't actually counted how long it takes, but it seems short to me compared to other sites.
And sorry if this had already been said by someone somewhere. e_e I scrolled through and tried to glance at what has been said but I don't quite have the time to go through everything. So...Hope this is vaguely helpful?
Quick suggestion: justify is the best thing to come to formatting since sliced pizza, is it possible to have it included in the actual roleplay posts? It makes everything look so much more professional.
Maybe that's the ex-journalism student in me talking, though... ;)
Thanks for letting me know but they can't add locations it looks like. So if they could add that to the options of things a co-host can do that would be awesome.
---------- Post added at 10:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:26 PM ----------
No, I agree with this. I noticed you can do it in chara. profiles, but not in threads. I was kind of upset you couldn't because I LOVE LOVE LOVE justify text (I was pissed when they removed that from Gaia a few years ago! XD)
Whats the #1 reason your rp buddies won't join wtf?
-They're too swamped their own roleplays because they play too many characters and/or they are expected to make long, in-depth posts all the time. It drains your brain juices to quickly. I think that it's good to keep the atmosphere from having too much pressure.
If we had a roleplay importer tool, which site(s) would you like to be able to import your roleplays from?
-Menewsha. That's the only other site I've made my own roleplays on. xD
Would you like to be able to use your facebook account, for a quick login/signup?
-Sure. I don't need it though. It might be good for advertisement if you know what I mean.
Would you advertise wtf in your signatures? If not, why?
-Heck yeah!!!
Whats your favorite feature here? Is there anything we are missing that other sites already have?
-Organization is so easy and simple! <3 Saves a lot of time and energy to get to the pages I need to. Maybe we can get a chatbox. But I've learned that that can also be a big distraction from making posts, haha.
Can we make it easier to start a rp? What about helping with ideas?
-I think the brainstorming and interest gathering forum is enough. But some people have a hard time coming up with a completely new setting and plotline. Maybe if there was a forum or list somewhere where people could put some of their ideas for a roleplay. Since they put them there because they don't have the time to manage another roleplay, others could take those ideas and expand them into reality. Just an idea though. :)
Would you like an off-topic forum? Can we do anything to make it more fun here?
-That would be cool. That way we can get to know each other and chat outside our roleplaying.
Any other comments, opinions, complaints, praise?
-No complaints here. Love you guys <3
Um, so far everyone I have asked to come over here has done so without complaint . . . I would hope because they like the site and not just because they like me as a GM! But who is complaining right? I mean more people the better! >D
No, please no. I want to keep my family away from my RPing . . . it might be useful to other people, but I don't want a lot of the people on facebook on here . . . I sound like the biggest mother fucking asshole saying this . . . forgive me.
On other sites? I may on certain places. I do try to advertise to people I want to join the site! > w <
As far as Facebook...I said this when Gaia started integrating with facebook. I can't imagine a lot of people having RL friends who enjoy or would be interested in RPing, quite the contrary, it'd be embarassing for many of us.
If we had a roleplay importer tool, which site(s) would you like to be able to import your roleplays from?RPol
and i say add a color change to the pages to it is not white all the time.
I have learned of the "manage roleplays" section and within it the "co-host" option. I have a couple suggestions for extra options to add to the rights the co-host can be granted.
- The ability to edit the RPs overview
- The ability to add new locations
I may have more later but those are two I picked up on quickly and would help me GREATLY in organizing and managing my own role play.
---------- Post added at 03:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:54 AM ----------
Honestly, I prefer the white background it makes the site look uniform. I find alternating colour backgrounds between posts looks far to busy. However, I think it best if the admins gave each player the option to choose between different site skins. Giving players the option to keep the current skin with the nice white background, or one that alternates colours.
---------- Post added at 04:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:59 AM ----------
I keep suggesting things . . . I really hope you don't mind so much. I just don't shut up! >D
I agree and I feel pretty strongly that at least the background for text in biographies/roleplaying/game information should always, always be white (or at least uniform). Different colored backgrounds/skins don't really add to the roleplay or player experience at all, but they do make it more difficult to be sure that the graphics and look of your text/images are coming through the way you want them. Simplicity is a nice thing, and it makes everyone's life easier.
Whats the #1 reason your rp buddies won't join wtf?
Sadly, the only reason for this is that they're either lazy to register or too busy to keep up. :P
If we had a roleplay importer tool, which site(s) would you like to be able to import your roleplays from?
YahooGroups XD I know, it's probably an impossible, but that's where all my RPs were.
Would you like to be able to use your facebook account, for a quick login/signup?Nooooo. lol I'm trying t DISconnect all the sites that ask it of me x_x I don't want it myself (although I suppose as an option it could be alright for some).
Would you advertise wtf in your signatures? If not, why?
Yes, I have and I still do advertise it, were I know there may be some interest for it.
Whats your favorite feature here? Is there anything we are missing that other sites already have?
I'm not sure I can pick a single feature I like best lol.
As for the other... Well, most the things I wanted I've already requested- some are on a to-do list, some were already set. Like for instance, easier way to mark private RPs, making them invitation-only, allowing users to add mini-locations within any given location, etc.
ETA: Something I didn't suggest before but that would be AWESOMEEE would be the ability to download RPs by location and/or as a whole as pdf. I love backing up my rps, specially finished ones, for later re-reading. XD
Can we make it easier to start a rp? What about helping with ideas?
I feel it's pretty easy to start an rp... so I can't think of an idea to make it even easier...
Would you like an off-topic forum? Can we do anything to make it more fun here?
I thought we had one? XD
Any other comments, opinions, complaints, praise?
I love it here <333 :o
Also, I haven't read all 3 pages but I see there's talk of allowing background-color-changes-- I personally hate (such heavy) customization (I like uniformity too); but regardless of that, so long as there is an option to opt out of seeing the lovely colors people use, I don't mind. XD
What can we do, to make it easier for you to share your roleplays? - maybe make the adult rps info open to guests but only the info and not anything else so that if we have an adult rated rp we can show or friends the info on it and maybe get them to join.
Whats the #1 reason your rp buddies won't join wtf? - Don't have time and don't do forum rps.
Whats your favorite feature here? Is there anything we are missing that other sites already have? - My favorite feature is that it doesn't take up much data and isn't loaded up with pictures. Most other sites are getting into mobile friendly but the only thing that this site needs is probably the option to change the overall viewing colors for each user on the whole site not just the profile part.
Any other comments, opinions, complaints, praise? - maybe have a staff pick of the day of a random rp. Maybe also make it so that there is a fandom option for making full featured rps so they have their own part or tag like the adult tag. It's completely an awesome site and I love it.. I'm in full support of it.
late but internet was lost and i couldn't get online until today.
I second this.Quote:

I also agree that this is a very aggravating "feature" of many other sites, and I would be very disappointed if the site started loading itself with images. I like it as it is, simple, with room for players to work with the very plain background.
When I first joined this site I thought a tool that might facilitate more open world RPs would be the ability to allow players to create areas for your RP. I thought maybe that there could be three levels to this tool, No Player input, approved player input, and free player input. For RPs where you don't want players to be able to make new places you could use the first option. For the RPs where you want control over the places that players create you could use the approved players input, and for the ones where you just want players to make places as they see fit you could use free player input.
For the approved I think it would be appropriate for the places description and first post (for a more fleshed out description) To be sent to the GM of the game so that they could look over it, Maybe using the message system. Then the GM would have the option to approve, disapprove, or send a message asking for changes to the description.
This particular tool would be really handy for larger RP world that more along the lines of WTF Multiverse, allowing for more direct player input into the world's design, as well as taking a bit more of the burden off from the GM which would allow them to run more game wide quests and story lines.
I dislike the system that lets other people take your character if you leave a roleplay. I really think that shouldn't be the case, you should have the ability to orphan it, but leaving an RP shouldn't mean someone else gets to play what you created.
---------- Post added at 06:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:51 PM ----------
Clicking on the link to an RP on the main page should take you to the game's overview, not it's location section. Maybe there should be an on/off field (like open/closed, adult/pg-13) for whether or not the game's begun.
Sorry for all my suggestions. I sound like miss complainy pants, but really, I adore this site. That's why I'm dragging people here. XD
I like this idea out of the sheer fact that I have had people leave my RPs and they played key characters that without them the entire role play dies. It's nice knowing that if someone no longer wants to be in, say Carmine, and they play, say the main villain, that I can have someone else pickup that character without having to worry about getting everyone used to a new character and new names. Because I know from experience that it doesn't work well and you loose more players because of it.
So personally I say keep it because it'll be a HUGE help for me down the road. It also means I can turn a dropped character into an NPC that I myself can play if the player choose to leave and I really need that character.
I mean sure it is the intellectual property of the player, but it is also the property of the role play itself. You can't just take that away from the RP and the players. I mean if you're leaving you're also giving up the rights to play that character in that RP and it is only fair that we, the players, are able to continue without you by allowing someone else to continue playing the character where you left off.
Also nothing is stopping anyone from cloning the character to be played elsewhere. I mean you still retain the rights to that character, you still get to keep him/her, but at the same time the RP itself can keep its characters and continue a story without faltering.
You make me kinda divided on it. I do think that at the very least, if a character hasn't made any posts or been approved yet, they should be removed from the game entirely by default. You make some really good points. Maybe the player can choose to leave it for other players, or it gets put in the GM's hands and they can unlock it for other players.
But at the very least, unapproved and unused characters shouldn't linger against their player's wishes.
Oh I agree and unapproved and unused character should just be nixed. But if you're playing a key character and you've been there a while and decide "oh I don't feel like doing this RP anymore" it's fair to let someone else take over. No point in single handed killing an RP because you want to leave. I also think it may alleviate some guilt of leaving knowing the RP won't die because someone else can pickup where you left off.
Yeah, that's true. Still, I think it should be something the GM controls rather than just throwing it out there. That way the GM can decide if they need the character, instead of someone just being lazy, playing your character, and completely bastardizing them.
But who is to say the GM won't bastardize them?
No one, really. But at least then the GM gets to decide whether to open it up/who to give it to, instead of just anyone in the roleplay being able to take it over.
To use your example, say it's a major plot character/villain, gets abandoned, then the least active, worst roleplayer in the group nabs it. It defeats the whole point.
